I’ve stayed at Villa I Barronci many times, and all of my stays have been excellent! All of the employees are very friendly. The resort consists of a great breakfast, but the latest time we stayed they made the breakfast smaller, the old breakfast had quiche, cakes, and a lot of pastries (they still have pastries now). Even now the breakfast is outstanding for Italy and their coffee machine is great! They also have a heated pool that’s set to 30 degrees Celsius so you won’t go crazy when you get in the pool like many other pools! They also have a trampoline, ping pong table, and even a cute mini trail with stunning views. The only problem I’ve always had staying at Barronci are the owners sons, they are usually at the pool every day if you stay in the summer and they are lound and awful. It’s supposed to be a quiet resort and once they get in the pool all of the guest in the pool immediately get out and try to ignore them. Please resolve this issue. The reason why I’m keeping 5 stars on my review is because the positives heavily outweigh this negative. Love love love this hotel and I plan to stay here again and again.

This is a fabulous place to stay. 400 year old Tuscan villa with comfortable and well appointed rooms. Andrea and Chico share their passion of Tuscany, the environment, and supporting local and organic living as hosts. The breakfast highlights their commitment to local and organic. They make just about everything (breads, biscuits, jams, hazelnut spread, etc.). The coffee/cappuccino is spot on. Their restaurant continues to show their passion by serving excellent dishes featuring local and organic ingredients, all cooked and presented with love and care. Andrea and Chico gave us a taste of what Tuscan living should be like.

My wife and I visit Tuscany often as we got married in the area last year. We came across the restaurant on site of this B&B (Osteria Il Poggio) on our first ever visit and enjoyed it so much that we return there every time we are in the area. This year for our anniversary we decided to book the B&B for 3 nights and had an amazing stay. The area is remote, you do need a car but this makes it so relaxing and peaceful, you can just sit on one of the tables, have a glass of wine and soak up the view! The staff are excellent, they genuinely couldn't do enough for us and always so pleasant and friendly. The breakfast is got to be one of the best breakfasts we had in Italy, so much choice that we had to keep going back for seconds (and thirds!). Do not leave without taking home a few bottles of their wine too, I can recommend the Borromeo Chianti Classico Riserva but we got a few of each. Thank you to all there for a wonderful stay, we will certainly be back in the future.

We wanted a little bit of chill time between visiting Lucca and Florence and then Cinque Terre. The choice of hillside villas or farms is endless but we fell upon this one and I’m so glad we did! Firstly, we opted for dinner, bed and breakfast. I’m always a little concerned when we go for a dinner inclusive rate as you become a captive audience. No such worry at all here! As an example, dinner is four courses - first night was little tempura cheese parcels, followed by pasta with the most delicious homemade pesto, pork fillet with roasted vegetables and then creme brûlée. All served on a delightful terrace. Oh and a great wine menu! Breakfast is extensive and plentiful and has the yellowest eggs I’ve ever seen! We booked direct with the hotel ( the most delightful owner I have had the pleasure to meet), Do do this, you will get the best rate. The villa has always been a residence and it really does feel like you are part of someone’s home rather than some faceless, corporate hotel. The swimming pool is lovely , comfy beds surround and towels are provided each day. We opted for a superior room but were shown several before settling on one. It was huge with a huger comfy bed and very efficient air con. Plentiful hot water with shower and bath and great water pressure. We visited San Gimignano one day and you aren’t far from Sienna if you want to venture out. Free parking on site. We were lucky enough to sit and watch a fabulous lightning show on our second evening as the view across the Tuscan Hills is spectacular. Every single member of the team is friendly and personable. No one can do enough for you. We even opted for massages on our third day as the weather was changeable. We have one night here left and I’m writing it now so that I make sure I get everything down that’s going to make people want to book. I cannot recommend this place highly enough so all I’d say is, if you’re wavering, don’t. Just do it. You’ll not regret it!

Simply put, for the price it is hard to beat in terms of a true Tuscan experience. To begin, the hotel has a great location that is close to Florence and is only about an hour away from Pisa. That being said it is far enough in the countryside that you are able to escape the city feel and enjoy the Tuscan countryside. It is easy enough to find off the interstate, and is within walking distance to the Villa Machiavelli. Which is a heritage museum of the villa that he resided in during his exile from Florence, as well as an outstanding restaurant with its own signature wine. The staff at the hotel are top notch and are very helpful. They were quick to accommodate out early arrival, and they also helped explain how to catch a bus into Florence. (Which was very easy, and helped avoid any difficulties from driving to the touristy areas in Florence). They remember your name, are always cheerful, and make the whole experience more as if you are staying with friends and/or family than a B&B. The views from their patio are outstanding and we made sure to enjoy them every day for breakfast, (which was delicious), and every night before bed. The rooms were cosy and also had beautiful views. Additionally, there was a pool which was very enjoyable. Also, the cappuccinos each morning were delicious and were right up there with the best in the country.. though I'm sure the views may have helped influence the taste as well. There is free parking as well, which is an added bonus. I will definitely return on any future trips to the Florence region.

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights whilst attending a friends wedding nearby. The long winding road up to the location was an adventure, but as soon as you get to the accommodation.....wow!! The views are beautiful and the accommodation is everything you would hope Tuscany would be. It is surrounded by vineyards and beautiful hilly scenery. The apartment itself was clean and tidy, with a self catering kitchen with all the basics you will need. The bed was very comfortable. Be prepared for it to be a little warm in the rooms as there is no air conditioning. This did not bother us too much. The staff are very friendly and extremely happy and helpful. We paid extra to have breakfast which was worth every penny. A wide selection of continental breakfast and freshly made coffee and omelette by the gentleman serving breakfast. He was very nice and friendly. The breakfast area is in a beautiful old building with very relaxing music ideal for a chilled wake up. We did not get the opportunity to use the pool as the weather let us down for our stay. It rained most of the stay and was a little chilly. However the pool looked very clean, and overlooked the beautiful Tuscan vineyard and countryside. I wold advise anyone staying here to hire a car. The location is very remote and the cabs are expensive as they come from Florence city. The nearest town with restaurants and shops cost 40 euros one way in a cab. Definitely hire your own car, nothing is walking distance. Overall a beautiful and enjoyable relaxing stay. Would highly recommend.

The sunset in the hotel is very shocking. The place is a bit hard to find. On a small mountain road, drive next to the gas station, go up the mountain, and then you will see the beautiful sunset. Parking is very convenient, dinner is good, not expensive, almost like Venice, two people eat about sixty euros The hotel is very clean, there are slippers inside, European hotels are very rare, the waiter also helps with luggage The breakfast is particularly good, with a variety of local Tuscan fruits and lots of coffee.

We picked this spot to meet up with our family who were visiting Italy from Australia. It looked peaceful and beautiful. On arrival it was as expected, amazing views and a gorgeous pool, spacious and comfortable rooms and very friendly staff. On arrival a wedding ceremony was taking place on the lawn next to the pool so although we had been told we could enjoy all the facilities we felt it would be highly inappropriate to splash around in the pool during the couples special time so we waited in our room for a couple of hours. After that we had some lovely pool time and enjoyed the gorgeous Tuscan sunshine, albeit with wedding guests milling around everywhere. On our third and final full day we were told that a further wedding brunch for 80 people was now going to be for 180 people. The wedding brunch took over the entire property including inflatables in the pool, lawn games and a dj right next to the pool. We felt forced out of the property. It was impossible for us to stay and enjoy the facilities. We were initially told of course we could stay but then advised "we understand you may feel uncomfortable" We did so we left for the day. The owners kindly gave us some pizza on our return and a free night in compensation but we are unlikely to be able to return in the timeframe allowed. We left a review on the site we booked through and were surprised to see a comment that we could have stayed and taken advantage of the buffet. We don't have any recollection of that being offered to us at the time. Lovely location but worth checking if there are any weddings going on when you book.

We rented an apartment for the week (the one next to the pool). The good: great location, great views, lovely pool. We saw wild boar in the adjoining field one evening. We rented Vespas from this location and did 4 days of touring in the neighborhood. Unforgettable! You get great breakfast a bit down the road in the adjoining restaurant, where you can also have diner (very much recommended). The bad: the furniture, bathroom and kitchen were rather basic. The apartments get very warm during the day. There is no airconditioning but fans are available and there are large windows which allow it to cool at night. There were lots of mosquitos. Sitting outside in the evening can be difficult and with my wife attracted the West Nile virus which is endemic in that region :( The ugly: the cooker hood in the kitchen was so dirty we didn't want to cook anything in an open pot underneath.

We have been super happy to stay in the fonte de Medici hotel. Not only the place is beautiful and has an extremely rich culture around, but view from the hotel overseeing the vineyards is simply astonishing. The restaurant is delicious, it varies every days with some special dishes to try - congratulations I the chef. The biggest appreciation of our stay is the staff from the whole organisation, rooms, reception and restaurants they have been so nice and extremely attentive to our every need. The rooms are very personalised and gives you a strong feeling of home, also they are super practical with a small kitchen. Once again one of our best spot ever! Thank you so much to the team our stay was perfect!!!!
