The hotel is decent.
I chose this hotel as it was away from the hustle and bustle of the city life.
It’s near the zoo and river safari area. There’s orto just nearby and food is plentiful around if you drive.
I’ll recommend to families w small kids who rarely tour around the north part of sg.
Pool is decent,a small fun slide, but playgrounds were closed.
Breakfast is not bad.
Non smoking 🚭 room but when i check in, there's smoked residue smell left in it. All the cleanliness level are below average. I saw cockroaches in bath room. I got cut my feet due to the drainage cover.
Stayed here for one night because I have an early morning ferry to catch from Pasir Gudang port. Good value as the price is quite cheap rm80+ for a queen bed room.
The staff is nice and helpful, hotel is safe and nearby are little shops and many parking available.
The room is just nice and quite okay in terms of size and space. Toilet is also large and water is running smoothly.
However, there are rubbish below bed and mattress not that white and clean. Dusty television and drawers too. I didn't take photos because I was in a rush and didnt stay long.
So I didn't mind that much of the room because I use it basically just to sleep and shower. Also because it is less than 10mins to ferry harbour.
If you're staying for holiday and leisure; might want to reconsider.

I walked into the cheap 2 star hotel like any other ordinary day, hoping for an ordinary early night sleep. At the reception counter, I stood to wait for the receptionist to realise I was there. Finally, she looked up, and recognised me. She smiled. I said, wondering to myself what else I might be doing there, that I am checking in, while handing her my identity card. She said, with a big smile as if trying to be sweet, ”Again?” I couldn't help myself. ”Well, I didn't come here to see you!” She sort of laughed at my comment. I think she tried to figure out whether she should be embarrassed or not. I just wanted her to give me my room key. She spent a good few minutes tapping into the keyboard, checking against my identity card. As each minute passed, I thought I should be getting closer to getting my room card. I needed the toilet, quite soon. She offered me a room with no window. I asked whether I could get a room with a window. She then offered me a room with a single bed. I asked if I could get a room with a double bed. Then she said the rooms with double beds are all taken. I said, fine, I'll have the room with the window then. She said those are also all taken. This is when I began to think this must be an ordinary day. Because this is an ordinary conversation. Because ordinary conversations involve ordinary people and ordinary people are just stup*d. She then said the room rate will be some amount. I said fine. I really needed to use the toilet to let go of my ordinary sh*t, by then. She then realised I had already booked online for a room and she had just wasted the last 15 minutes looking for a room that was already allocated to me. There was absolutely no need to look for a double bed, windowed or unwindowed room. Someone else had already done the job. She's not an ugly girl. Big eyes, sharp chin, small frame, an average height. But her makeup was so thick she must have applied them with a rather big paintbrush or a mini-roller. You could easily tell she was hiding some bad skin and that she aspires to be whiter than humanly possible. I am sure makeup comes in many colours but surely milky white is not one of them? Or maybe 'Curd and Whey'. Or, dried up plaster of paris? What do I know. I got my room key. She fiddled with the credit card machine but it's so ordinarily dull, my mind had turned off by then. It had had enough of trying to observe the insipidly mundane. Either that, or it was having a mini-seizure induced by the dullness of this clumsy, unprepared, caked-face, long haired girl, who clearly preferred to be somewhere else fixing her long nails. I felt sad for her though. As she must have felt sad for me too. Here I am, in a certified two-star hotel, alone in a strange city, late at night, eager to go straight into my room to take a big smelly dump. And there she was, struggling to do a simple task at a simple job, hoping that someone decent would marry her soon, clearly for her looks and
No frills stay.
You book, turn up, stay, and leave.
Rules are simple--be clean, be quiet, and be a good guest. It's a space shared with others.
For something this kind, I'd say it smelled clean most of the time.
My family decided to take a short break in Hotel Fairmont Singapore instead of our usual June holiday travel.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable.
Every staff member I encountered, from the valet to the check- in to the cleaning staff were delightful and eager to help!
All other sevice was exceptional as well.
If only there is one area that needs to improve is the bathroom. There was no proper hanger or hook to hang our clothes.
Also, the accommodation may not be very user friendly to the Malays. The toilet bowl especially is nor fitted with any water spray jet.
Overall, my family have a wonderful experience in our stay.
I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting downtown at this Fairmont Hotel Singapore.
Thank you! Will definitely recommend to all our friends and colleagues!

Good: - It's near the train station (closer to Rochor than Little India) - there are a lot of restaurants near the area - Beds are clean - our room had its own toilet and bath so no need to share with other rooms in the hostel Bad: - the room is a bit cramped with 6 bunk beds, small area to move around. They even have 1 extra bed that would take up the entire walking area. Talk about maximizing the space. - the lockers are a bit small so if you have a big bag, it will take up the floor space, which meant even lesser area to move around - shower is a bit small, so when the water splashes to the door, water will leak out of the shower area - reception is not 24/7, I arrived there at 7am only to realize it was still closed. I had to come back at opening time (8:30am), but still waited for the receptionist to open the window at 9am. Why post the opening time as 8:30am when you are only opening it at 9am? Overall, I think the hostel is ok, if you need somewhere cheap, it's an ok option. You get what you pay for. Fyi, toiletries and towels are not included, you have to pay for it if you need one. Better bring your own. For PoGo players, there are two pokestops accessible from the hostel
Location is good for no lack of food. Near coffee shops, hawker centres and shopping mall(bugis). Have many selection and varieties of local food.
Amenities not so fantastic. Bare minimum and there is no in-house slippers. Only have body towels.Shower area is very small, enough to house a 70 kg adult COMFORTABLY. Air con control is of the old type, non digital. 4 pillows and quite comfy plus mattress is quite firm. Only minus point is that side table is quite far from the bed on one side. The mini sofa is not for lying. Awkward shape (see photo with bag). Though many TV channels, very old shows like Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones and the Net by Sandra bullock. has Chinese language channels and local ones
HDB blocks are very close by so need to draw curtains for more privacy.
No water heater as hot water is from roof top tank. Have to wait for hot water to come on after switching on like 5 minutes.
Reception staff was very polite and chirpy when we checked in. Staff name is Xiao Xuan and she gave us extra room cards when we requested. Didnt spend too long at the counter as she was efficient. Great service!
Finally checked off this pricey but lovely staycay spot ❤️
To be honest, the $700/night range made me expect a lot and I’m really glad that my experience (kind of) justified the hole in my wallet
The room was fair sized at 39SqM but super classy and quaint, with fancy copper finishings running throughout the space. Very like! 🎉
Though … I wished there was more countertop space and a chilling spot enough for 2pax. 👻
The Living Room provided a very nice respite from the relentless heat and all day refreshments worked as a lunch replacement even though it was just salted nuts for me ☀️
Evening cocktails stole the show with quality bites, fancy tea-based cocktails, and great service. We waddled out definitely heavier but confirm happier 🥂
Super happy that we experienced the same great service as my previous Far East Hospitality stays - Farez and Hafiz were stellar and part of the reason why I’m so smitten by this stay 🎖
As an Ascott group member, there are decent expectations of an Ascott experience in all the properties in which I had once stayed (Ascott, Somerset, Citadines). Citadines Rocher (recently opened in 2020) was one of my top choices in having a local staycation because of its location and price range. However, it was an overall disappointing experience, and here’s why: 1. No daily housekeeping service 2. Our bathroom door could not close. It was completely off the ledge. 3. Reception is busy all the time. Phone calls are often not answered 4. This hotel was most probably a designated hotel used for both Malaysian citizens who were unable to return home due to locked borders, as well as returning Singaporeans to serve their mandatory 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN). There were confirmed COVID-19 cases within my period of stay. We were notified by a letter from the management. The least the management could do was to provide a mask or sanitizers to guests. We also chanced upon 2 medical workers fully donned in PPE escorted a guest to the ambulance. Scary stuff. 5. We took our own trash out of the room since day 1 of check-in. It was not cleared even upon checking out. Dear Citadines Rocher, please review your services. I had absolute faith and would like to continue giving my support to Ascott despite this awful stay.
Nice view on the highest floor. In general hotel room is clean but there were many ants crawling in the wash basin and table areas. Maybe we were on the highest floor. The hotel mgmt may want to look into the ants issue before it gets worse.
Located right next to a bus stop and a 5-minute walk from a MRT station, this budget hotel screams value. Two restaurants right at the ground floor of the premises and a very famous Indian restaurant (A2B) within 3 minutes walk away, good food is very close by. Mustafa centra is a 5-minute walk. A no-frills, impeccably clean hotel in a great location - excellent value for money. We stayed there for 9 nights and every morning the cleaning team was prompt to leave our room blushing clean. My request for extra towels were immediately taken care of and seen through all 9 days. 24-hour hot water and air-conditioning were top-notch. Special shout-out to Ms Pam and Richard at the front desk who gave us wonderful tips about their country and made us feel right at home. The room cleaning persons (sorry, I missed taking their names) did a fabulous job every single day! I was travelling with 2 young kids and had requested a room on a higher floor with a double bed. They were able to accommodate me on their 7th floor (not noisy at night) but could provide me with only twin beds. This was a minor blip in the otherwise exceptional service provided my the hotel. Rooms near the lift tend to be a bit noisy throughout the day. Room # 710 was great - 7th floor and far from the lift. I'd recommend this place again to anyone looking for a no-frills budget hotel in a great location.
Clean.. comfort... water preassure is very good.😋. Room is quite spacious... if you travel with a family like me and on budget... this is my kind of place... will come here again and next time i will extra comforter.
It is definitely a budget hotel, which I think a lot of people reviewing have overlooked. The front desk people were nice and the room was suitable for sleeping and showering which is all I really needed. We got some free snacks/drinks and they helped us to book a taxi. It is in a decent area to get to most places in Singapore.
Nothing much changed in the former Swissotel after the rebranding but still it is a very nice place to stay near the Clarke Quay and it’s countless bars and restaurants. Breakfast and service are still very good, however the interior soon could need a modernization - its not broken or damaged but still very much the same like before (when I first stayed here in 2017) and it feels like some modernization wouldn’t be a miss. However that’s just a minor point to „complain“ and I again very much enjoyed my stay here.
Ya that is true according to my wording if you dont have any other option then you can stay here othere please avoid. i stayed here for 1 night, but almost not comfertable, before i checked in a room when i layed down on my bed, it is keep on moving i asked to change my room and they did it but the room is not same like before but bed still moving some time. the cleanness of also not up to the mark. and they charged for wifi to heard, i was socked and the funny things is that you can use only one device with one password so you you would like to use aother device you have to buy another password. thats all ok but still after paying the wifi is not woking good. staff also lalking bit rude. At last for me sorry to say but not value for money. will never back with this property.
Tbh the transport MRT is a little far, good thing is that the site itself has lots of cafes/restaurants (I went to grub, nice fish burger) and I'm surprised that there's a tennis court and interlinked pool from Mercure to Novotel. The room itself is sufficient and very soundproof Walls for sure! I'm happy with my stay and will be back again. The Q for check in was ok on a Friday but when I checked out on Sunday only 1counter was open and long Q.
The package which includes the steak at opus bar and grill was fabulous. The food was very nice and the portions were generous, and yes free flow of wine (both red and white for two hours). The service staff were also very attentive and everything was great!
Having said that, we just have one feedback on the tv in the room. The tv is still not working after the technician came to fix it. It’s a bit disappointing but we just let it go since we are only staying one night at the hotel. Other than that, no complaints.
Totally enjoyed my stay here. There is smart tv where you can watch netflix and chill or go youtube. The angle of tv is also adjustable so you get to watch confortably in bed. 4 pillows were given so dont worry you'll snatch w your partner. All the door are using smart digital lock, you will have to download their app Walk around the area and there are lots of nice korean restaurant. Do note that toothbrush isnt provided. Will def come back again!
Well located, really nice staff for everything, including informations. Bed was comfortable, good shower, breakfast simple but ok. The 2 biggest problems are the travellers who don't respect the sharing room after 23h00 (need a corfu or to be advise) and the room on the street side with a restaurant open 24/24, are to to noisy. You just get little sleep. Coming from Airport, with MRT get off at Jelan Besar exit B, turn right, walk to Dickson Road. To take the bus via Malaysia, walk via Jelan Besar, turn left and right on Weld Road, it will be on your right (3.5MYR)
We reached the hotel at 2pm for check in but as of 4.30pm, we weren’t even check in at all. We were only told then that they were overbooked and that all the rooms are not yet cleaned. We proceeded with our plans and returned to the hotel at 9.20pm only to be informed that our room as still not ready which was ridiculous??? We then demanded for a room for the long waiting hours and how can a room be not cleaned until 7 whole hours later? Miraculously a room was ready 10mins later which was suspicious, the stay was great but the long waiting hours and the fact that those hours i did pay for it did not justify my spendings.
Superb location just 5mins walk from clarke quay mrt station. The staffs are very friendly and many nice dinning restaurants around. Recommend to try the food at Alco Vault just beside the hotel. Their food are really delicious.
This was an overnight stay and we (two mature aged Australian couples) arrived from India very early on the first day (around 7.25 am). The hotel staff allowed us to check in very early. There were two couples and two people were unwell. So if we had needed to sit around for many hours awaiting a room it would have been painful. But the hotel counter staff said ”It is very early but we are flexible here and we will try to get your rooms ready ASAP”. One couple were in their room by about 8.30am and we got ours about 9.45am. This was excellent service and above and beyond normal expectations. The rooms are small but everything works: clean, nice bathroom, air-con, comfy beds, safe, tea making facilities, hairdryer, Wifi etc....all inclusive and working well. Very pleased and we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone on an overnight stay or a short stay in Singapore and not wanting to spend a fortune on expensive hotels. They ring taxis for you and the cost to the airport was only about $10AUD.
Hotel is on the older side, but that’s not an issue. The bathroom could use some update though, especially the bath tub. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I was not paying attention to the laundry hours and had my laundry locked up. Even so, someone came to help me get my laundry from the dryer. The bathroom could be cleaned better. Very good location. Just a few minutes walk to Bugis Street market.
Very friendly staff, they will answer any questions you have and will greet you with a smile. The location is suitable, there is a bus stop located very close which is convenient. The breakfast is simple but some toast, cereal and coffee it good for me. The bathrooms are always clean, and there is always hot water. The rooms are clean with convenient storage. If traveling to Singapore by yourself specially for my ladies this is a good place to stay. Oh and there is an amazing ice cream shop close bya and may restaurants.
Hotel is refurbished and was previously known as Elizabeth Hotel. It is located right next to its sister property Quincy Hotel, and shares the basement carpark.
Location is quiet, but just 5-10 minutes' walk from Orchard Road (take the shortcut through York Hotel and Goodwood Hotel's carparks to get to Scotts Road, then turn left and straight to Orchard, including the MRT station).
Premier room was nice, but can still see some wear and tear, especially in the toilet. Only 1 desk chair for sitting. Overall, a bit smaller than I expected, but comfortable enough for 2. King bed was a bit hard for me, but pillows had mix of soft and firm, which I liked. Shower only, but had both handheld and rainfall shower heads. Can drink straight from tap. Usual toiletries, including toothbrush/toothpaste and shaving kit provided. No comb. Can request for face towels.
Breakfast is by order with free flow, self-service coffee/tea/juices. Fairly decent in taste.
Service is excellent, with greetings whenever I passed through the lobby and good effort to meet my requests.
Didn't try the pool, but just a note that it appears larger in the photos compared to in real life (to me anyway).
Trip.com had best deal at my time of purchase.
Recommended for a quiet stay with easy access to Orchard + public transport with a bit of walking. Also easy access to Mount Elizabeth Hospital down the road for medical tourists.
Super awesome service from Ned during check in and assisted me very patiently with my queries.
Staff are all very friendly and helpful.
Located conveniently near Jurong East MRT, with multiple shopping malls within the vicinity.
Housekeeping were on point with Shwn and Moe, where they never fail to greet you when you do pass by them in the corridor! :)
Definitely one of the good hotels I’ve went around in Singapore. Service was super. The uncle who was sitting at the counter brought us all the way to the room. Thank you so much. Got the room with the balcony. Had a smart tv. Can watch Netflix and YouTube. Toilet has a bathtub. If it’s not raining then you can sit and enjoy at the balcony as well. Will definitely return here again someday.
Location is great , near many food places & you can feel the weekend mood there . However the room can be improved? External is nice but not really on the interior or is it because I didn’t upgrade for club room access..
The bed needs a replacement ? Everytime I sit on it , there is a sound . Is not stable 😰 secondly the toilet bowl , it also makes a sound when I sat on it . & the drainage , there is white substance on it , not sure if it’s toothpaste or ? & the shower had a weird smell & the shower floor is dirty .. Not sure if is fully booked or the cleaning was done quickly that they missed out on what I’ve mentioned .. I had to wait to get my room keys after I registered . & i didn’t get up to check on it , it would be endless waiting ?
The four of us stayed here on our visit to singapore. The front desk lady charged or room deposit instead of merely taking a credit card number to charge later in case of damages (this was against policy I discovered later). We stayed in a room with a queen bed and two bunk beds, ensuite bathroom, plus a small balcony. The room was clean and comfortable - all features functioned properly. The location is far from the main areas of the city and on the other side of singapore from the airport. A subway station is about 10-15 minutes walk away. A bus stop is directly in front of the guesthouse. It's a solid 30 minute trip away from little india or little china. Being a hostel we had concerns about noise at night but were not bothered by any. We did not utilize the breakfast option but did eat at the restaurant across the street and found it acceptable. On checkout I found that they could not refund the deposit. After working with the manager over the next several days she refunded the deposit to me via paypal instead of a credit to my original card. That was not desirable at all, but was the best she said she could do. On the whole this was a nice stay, I only advise you to be cautious about your room deposit.
Very small but cosy hotel located in geylang. Plenty of eateries around the hotel. A nightlife worth exploring. Accessible to buses and two MRT stations - kallang and aljunied MRT. Even though the hotel is run down, the basic amenities are provided. The cheapest budget hotel we have been so far.
