I really liked staying at this place. It came highly recommended by friends who stayed there the year before and we were very happy with it. It's charmingly rustic with just the right touches. They do play it up a bit with some of the old farm/villa objects carefully placed for maximum charming effect - but it's done really well and the place is overall very comfortable and peaceful. It's evident that the proprietors have put a lot of work into fixing it up and creating a nice experience for guests. But, old villas are what they are; a bit musty and creaky and not a whole lot of outlets. However, any guest who's ever stayed in a 200+ year old villa will very much appreciate that the bathrooms are tip top (not too common in a lot of old villas!). But, be sure to pick your room wisely and know that the bathrooms in some suites are located off the main inner bedroom such that the person staying in the other room has to go through the main room to access it. Again, old villas... It's a little off the beaten path and you won't be walking to town from this place. But to be honest, we liked that aspect, mainly because it was super quiet at night - the only things we heard outside were crickets, birds, and the occasional church bell. The surrounding area is gorgeous too. And there actually are quite a few trails and walking paths through the vineyards and hazelnut orchards up the hill. Believe me, it's worth just wandering around and taking in the views. In our case, it made for a good central hub and was only a 20 minute drive to each of the wineries we visited (e.g., in Barolo, Barbaresco, Serralunga, etc.), and it's equally close to Bra and Alba for when you want to go out for dinner or explore the towns. The food was really good. All homemade and wonderful. Definitely worth a try at least one night. The breakfast buffet was excellent - almost too many choices - and the coffee was perfect. Above all, the staff was excellent. Super accommodating, polite, informative, and all around pleasant. If you want that old country villa experience with a bit of updated charm, then I'd certainly recommend this place.

Nice hotel clean and comfortable! The room are big and the bed really comfortable you really can rest and relax very well!! The lobby have a nice bar and relax area. Unfortunately the breakfast was serve at the basement which was really cold and I didn’t enjoy my breakfast, the quality and choices of food is really good! For dinner they have a roof top restaurant it’s very impressive restaurant you can see all the hill around Alba! The Chef are very good! The dish are respecting the piedmont traditional recipes but with a modern twist! The wine list are quite impressive! The hotel have a private car park at the basement.

Such a marvelous stay. The place is located right in the center, one short block away from the main street where cute stores and boutiques are located, and about a 5-minute walk from the main square, Piazza Duomo. The entrance to the hotel is through the café. The lady who greeted us was very nice, she helped me to carry my clothes and showed us to the room. It was in the back and had a little charming yard with tables and chairs. You can smoke there if you like. The room itself was very beautiful. Please check the pictures. The floor doesn’t have a carpet but it’s warm (heated). If you don’t like walking on the floor barefoot, take slippers with you. The TV is very small and quite far away from the bed (it had a Russian channel too, by the way) but we don’t really watch tv or stay in the room long when we travel. The bathroom has a shower cabin. A few amenities provided (soap bar, lovely shampoo and shower gel and also, unexpectedly, contact lens solution). I was glad I took a hair conditioner with me. Sincerely, I would substitute contact lens solution with a hair conditioner. I had contacts before and you always go everywhere with your solution. It’s like breathing. Most likely nobody from the guests will need it for a long time. While the conditioner is a must for the most women (and some men too). Just a friendly advice to the hotel :) The next day we also had a breakfast that was included in the stay. We asked for 9 AM and when we showed up at the lovely café at 9:09 it was already served. We appreciated that because we had an appointment somewhere else after that. It was a perfect breakfast: fresh focaccia genovese and prosciutto cotto (ham), fresh warm croissants with apricot jam, fresh fruit and berries, freshly squeezed orange juice and made to order cappuccino. Everything extremely simple but delicious and just the right amount! Loved it! The decor of the sitting room is cute too. It has a bit of a French vibe, which, of course, is logical considering the geographical location of the region. So, to sum it up- great location, great room, great breakfast, great service! Recommended for those who would like to stay at a place with a character and a personal touch.

We stayed in the Deluxe Suite (w/kitchenette) and this was HUGE. It really was more like an apartment vs a hotel room. There was air conditioning in each room so that was really nice, esp. in the heat of the summer. Breakfast is okay -- not bad but not amazing. There is an array of bread/pastries, fresh fruits, meats and cheese, and includes one hot drink. There is an additional fee for more drinks or other breakfast entrees not featured in the buffet (i.e. eggs) but it's not expensive at all. The family that owns this estate is very warm and friendly. I didn't get their names unfortunately but the son welcomed us upon check-in and offered us complimentary glasses of spumante (which was delicious! we ended up purchasing multiple bottles). The mother, who runs the place, is an absolute saint. Their hospitality was shown even beyond the hotel grounds. We were driving along the road to Treiso and got stuck in a drainage ditch when the lovely owner happened to pass us, turned around, and called multiple people until she could get someone (it was her brother-in-law, who owns the property next door to Cascina Barac and he's also absolutely wonderful!) to help tow us out. She doesn't speak English really and yet she still made us feel so well taken care of. She even called the restaurant we were heading to (before we got stuck) to let them know we were running late. The location of Cascina Barac is pretty well-situated as it's an easy enough drive to Monforte d'Alba, Barbaresco, Neive, etc. We recommend hiring the e-bikes (25 euros for 4 hours, 40 euros for 8 hours per person) and exploring the region. Because it's electric, it makes going up the hills quite easy. They are happy to recommend restaurants and make the reservation for you, which we appreciated. There is plenty of parking so you do not need to worry about that. The only thing that would have made this place absolutely perfect is if it had a pool! But overall, we had a lovely stay and enjoyed our time here.

We stayed at Miaclara for two nights as part of our visit to the Lange region. Miaclara is a small hotel set in the middle of the vineyards of the Rinaldi family. The place is amazing; way exceeded our expectations. The setting is breathtaking; with views of the vineyards and countryside everywhere you look. Our room was lovely. It was big, comfortable, and with a sleek yet classy feel.Only criticism is that the room could have used more light at night. The bathroom was spectacular. Yet the best part of this hotel is the people. The owner, Paolo and Monica, are super friendly, very genuine, and eager to share their stories as well as learn from yours. They recommended visits and restaurants that were all great choices. Their vineyards are beautiful, with great wines and enjoyable wine tastings. There is no restaurant, but a delicious breakfast is beautifully setup every morning. Having a car is a must and there is parking right there. Special mention to Ombretta, who was hard working as well as very helpful and courteous. We will definitely come back to this gem.
