My husband & I recently returned from our 2nd stay at the Hotel L'Imperator positioned centrally in Nîmes so as to be able to walk to the various attractions the city offers its guests. Our 1st introduction to the hotel was during the height of summer, in August...the lure back to the same hotel speaks volumes in itself. How this 5* hotel manages to meet the needs of all its guests, during the height of summer or the more quieter early springtime reflects the dedication & strong leadership of the general manager Christophe Chalvidal. His visibility is evident throughout the hotel, morning, afternoon, evening, yet he still manages to stop & greet guests, enquire about their stay & their plans. As a native son of Nîmes his list of suggested, "must do" places to visit is lengthy. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to an apt overlooking the inner courtyard of the hotel for our 6 day stay...what a treat! What a disappointment we no longer have small children in tow because we know they would have loved staying in such a spacious well thought out suite of rooms filled with the hotel's superb Codage spa products. The outdoor patio area tempted us to have a drink on it...the temperature outside changed our minds! But, that's ok because we preferred being served in the bar area by the attentive skilled Florent who spoke excellent English & was lovely to interact with during our stay. Walking into the hotel one is instantly struck by a beautiful floral fragrance exclusive to the hotel by a local parfumerie, followed by stunningly arranged dramatic floral arrangements scattered in the large reception area. Jemina & Clémence & others I've forgotten the name of greet you most warmly at the front desk/reception. They are welcoming, friendly, efficient, & go out of they way to make you feel part of the hotel "family" during your stay by their frequent visits to your table or as you pass through the reception area. We enjoyed breakfast every morning, a feast that carried us through most of the day. Not only was the selection delicious it was picture worthy as only the French can do. A selection of natural fruit yoghurts, lemon bread, fougasse, fresh fruit salad, baguette, pain au chocolat, croissants, & crusty bread/jams as well as sliced Spanish cheese & meats started us off followed by a choice of eggs & more if you so desired. We were delighted to be served each morning by a lovely gentleman named Roland. He could not have been more accommodating & went out of his way to serve us. Knowing I needed extra pillows for the back of my chair he preemptively collected them. Such service, always with a smile was very kind of him. It was nice to see him each morning. You're spoiled for choice when staying at the L'Imperator for your evening meal. The dining room offers a creative selection of options, if you're lucky you'll be served by the charming Daisy, including my favorite the traditional brandade, tapas in the bar area are varie

Set on a large site facing a pedestrianised area with a buzzing bar and restaurant on the ground floor the hotel has been refurbished since our last stay and in our opinion, not for the better. Reception and hallways are painted dark purple and burgundy displaying large interesting art work. The rooms have been “blinged’ up but attention to the smaller detail has been missed. There was a state of the art coffee maker, but it only made espresso, - nothing on offer for those who enjoy milk in their coffee or even a tea ! – which wouldn’t have fitted in the thimble sized cups anyway. No complimentary water and no ‘fridge in. the room.. The bathroom had been by-passed by any sort of upgrading. It was tired and not clean looking. Old fashioned pipe work was dusty and the floor and taps were dirty. Now coming under the category of Boutique Hotel it’s a shame the ‘modernising’ of this hotel doesn’t hit the mark. Also, you might need technical wizardry to access the wi-fi connection. However the staff are great and worked hard to make our stay good.

This beautiful and almost hidden town house is a credit to it’s owners, providing very comfortable accommodation and facilities in the centre of Nîmes and close to the main tourist attractions. Located in a narrow one-way street and parallel to the main road with no direct access to parking, it possesses a GPS killing address which should have been explained well in advance since it was an unnecessarily frustrating experience to have arrived by car, especially as the road itself is beset with cheap takeaways, hookah shops and souk-like emporiums that never seem to shut. Ou large room on the first floor was very comfortably furnished with air-conditioning, TV, safe et cetera but also with a double bed more suited to the diminutive stature of Napoleon rather than modern day Europeans........the hand-held shower in the (clamber over the side for access) bath was also less than impressive. Our peace was shattered at 04:45 by a raucous gang of people throwing old furniture from the street adjoining the hotel onto the back of a lorry, a cacophony that was not the fault of management but clearly something that could have been dealt with in a better way. A very respectable breakfast is provided, I suggest you arrive before 08:30 or after 09:30 in order to avoid the crushed peak period. Immaculately clean and with very helpful personnel to assist you with your stay, it is a well-priced hotel.

This hotel is plain awful. First, it is absolutely soulless - you feel like you are in a hospital. Second, it is run down - carpets in the halls and rooms are shameful (old and stained), curtains in my room were torn in places, the sink could barely evacuate the water and the water pressure in the shower was anemic… Third, it was uncomfortable : the twin beds my daughter and I slept in were the narrowest beds I have ever slept in at a hotel - maybe not even 80cm wide - and they were garnished with THE most uncomfortable pillows know to man (hard, springy and for some unfathomable reason, split in two ¼-¾). Also, it was way too hot and the only way to get the temperature down was to open the window. Fourth, the breakfast was appalling - totally identical to an ibis hotel, despite the fact Novotel is supposed to be the category above. The croissants were totally burn 2 mornings out of 3, the waffles were obviously cold and the rest of the fare was frankly unappealing. Fifth, the accessibility is hit and miss. Most of the hotel can be accessed in a wheelchair - unless you decide to park your car in the hotel car park. In that case, be prepared as I did to carry your disabled family member up a flight of steps, sit them unceremoniously down at the top, go down to fetch their wheelchair, bring it back up and help them get back onto it. Finally, the staff was friendly, but nothing special. Avoid this hotel.

The location is really very good. As bad, where I started ... We had a reserved parking space, they told us that at reception there would be nobody at our arrival but they never told me that I needed a different code to get in to the parking, The hotel was very comfortable and the hotel was very comfortable. And to continue, the breakfast theme, we asked the reception boy if we got breakfast, confirmed us that yes, so we went to breakfast, the boy told us that we had to pay breakfast because only one came in, We're a little perplexed, why is it that if we're two people only get a breakfast? Well, the next day when we left the room, it was no more a breakfast but two, for not fighting with the boy I think was Swedish, I paid both breakfasts, but let's go, that's not worth it or recommend it, The hotel is a very good hotel, and it is a good hotel.

Located behind the Train Station ( technically it faces it, but all the attractions of the city are on the other side of the elevated railway), I think it is convenient and the property is relatively modern and the hotel has adequate services, in line with what is to be expected from a budget chain hotel. Minimalist room and functioning washroom and WC, which is separate. Aircon works fine. Room looked and felt clean. Anti-Covid measures were visible and enforced. The Parking is expensive at 10 euros a night, and confusing, both to find and to enter, not to mention to leave!!! Overall a fine experience, I got what I payed for, and when going back to or through Nimes, I will happily return to this hotel.

Price-quality a good hotel. It's ideal to visit the Carmarques, Nimes, Pont du Gard and to take a swimm in the sea. The rooms are clean and with air conditioning. We had room 214, for 4 persons. room is above the other, that room didn't had air-conditioning and with temperatures of 32°C it gets too warm to sleep. The room below was perfectly air conditioned at 22°. Breakfast is fine and diner...we had some very nice dishes but also some that were not so tasty. Bottle of wine between 22€ and 35€. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Swimming pool is mostly in the shadow and not heated.

To sum up our stay (2 nights) at the Appart City in Nimes : Excellent service, price/quality and location. After 10 days of traveling in France, we concluded our stay with 2 nights in this hotel. In retrospect, we wished we had booked this one for a longer stay instead. Compared with the Novotel the service is excellent. After traveling around the world the last 17 years, I have had the best service in Asia (Singapore), and the service here could definitely be compared to that. Parking arrangements are easy and done by reception upon request. The room, well apartment, was huge compared to other suites we had during this trip. And quality was right up there. Kids loved the separate room (and tv :-) ), as well as the gigantic bathroom (they missed a bath though :-D ) Location wise you could not ask for a better spot. You walk onto the main square of Nimes with a view on the Arena, and within walking distance of all the restaurants. If I were to say one negative thing, it would be the street noise in the early morning when cleaners come by. Would I come here again? Definitely !

Upon check in the man in reception was friendly. The shower was good, that’s about where the positives end. The hotel was difficult to find (insufficient signage). located in an industrial estate in between loads of other cheap hotels We paid extra for the Cabrio room (one with bathroom). Everything about the room is tiny, made for the seven dwarfs maybe. The Double bed (the smallest double you will ever see) squashed into a tiny room, with tiny windows and a tiny bathroom. The mattress was VERY uncomfortable and the only way to fit two normal size grown adults on it is to sleep in top of each other. The bathroom was tiny too with a sink so small every time you turn the tap on the water goes everywhere onto the floor. There is no room to put any suitcases except a tiny space next to the bed so if you need to unpack you need to put the suitcase on the bed as no other room to do so. Towels cost an EXTRA 3 Euro for a towel made out of Microfibre ( Essentially a large Glasscloth-No Joke) For the price it’s not worth it at all. originally a room was advertised at £45 Euro. Then to add a bathroom 5 Euro, 2x Towels 6 Euro , then taxes and city surcharges for which the rates are not made clear at the time of booking on the Accor ALL App so in the end we paid £58 Euro in total for a nights stay hardly cheap to stay in what essentially a furnished prion cell. The Ibis across the road only charges 65 Euro and this is where we shall stay if we visit the city again.

Honestly we chose this hotel as we've never been disappointed in any of the BW in the US. It seems the standard in France is in fact far different... Having toured the south of France, we reached Nimes with rather heavy luggage. Unfortunately, there is no luggage trolley to transport your luggage on the gravel area leading to the entrance, neither is there an elevator (which is undertandable due to the age of the manor) though no help was available on arrival. We were assigned room 16 ( remember and make sure to avoid it.... ). This room is the closest to the highway and the round about nearing the hotel. Needless to say, it is noisy, very noisy... To top this off, the bathroom faucet was leaking and in the morning, the toilet got clogged... Breakfast was ok. I have to mention that we were not even offered a word of apology. Service " a la francaise" .....

I was really amezed when I saw the night wait comming out of the kitchen and first put his mask, when he arrived at the desk. You have to know, the night wait was preparing the breakfast. People still doesn't understand it. If there is one place, you have to wear it, is it in the kitchen. You take a lot of measure against the virus (packing individual portions with cheese, meat), so you pack the virus in the teller! Put please a bell at the desk, for the case when nobody is present. It took me 10 minutes before I saw somebody. Checking out took me another 10 minutes. Again, people with mask & without mask. Stop that hypocrisy. Or all of you do it, or just leave it. The bath plug was loosing. No internet after 10 o'clock, even the next morning.
