I loved everything about this property! I would go back to Chania just to stay here - the first thing I noticed was how friendly everyone was. The room we stayed in was so clean - with every detail carefully planned out. The location was excellent. The food was also so delicious!! I can't recommend this place enough. If you're going to Chania, stay at the Yasmine apartments!

We stayed at Frida for a week in early September. Everything was as described and we had a really lovely holiday. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and can’t do enough to help. The apartment was clean and we slept really well. Hot showers every day and good bar/restaurant. The pool (we only used the top one) was lovely. Beautiful views of the sea and the setting is very relaxing and well maintained. We choose to stay here because the location suited us really well. It is between Chania town (which has some stunning Venetian streets and the harbour) and the busier resorts nearby at Agioi Apostoli. We wanted to stay somewhere very peaceful within a short distance of activities. There is a good pedestrian walk to the nearest beach along the side of the new sports centre and over a footbridge which takes 10 mins max. The road that Frida is located at is a smaller less well lit one which didn’t present a problem for us at all. Thank you!

I was blown away by this amazing deal while staying in Crete. The location was in the vicinity where we wanted to stay- close by the historic town of Chania. I received a nice email prior to my stay and arranged to have the host hold our bags since we were arriving early. We were greeted by the host when we arrived early, and she was so warm and welcoming! She gave us so many tips and recommendation and a nice map with ideas of where to go. We were walking distance from the main part of the historic town and very close by the beach. The facilities were every clean and décor was fun and very modern. It had an open air feel and vibe to it. The hostess went above and beyond to help arrange for a car rental which they brought and picked up right to our hotel! Everyone spoke perfect English which was very helpful. The apartment was a 2 bedroom for 4 of us and had a nice small kitchen and private patio. The showers were hot, and bathroom was spacious. The price for this place was amazing. It really was top notch and so affordable. I would recommend this place for your stay in Crete. I would also visit the open-air restaurant right beside the hotel. The food was authentic, and the house white wine was a steal!

This was a delightful place to stay for our first visit to Crete. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff/owners very helpful and friendly. It’s in a quiet part of town and we weren’t at all disturbed by the bar next door (the same owners and popular with locals) -we would recommend that too. Only 25 minutes drive from the airport, it’s a minute from the beach. There’s a good taverna about 3 doors down and it’s only 10 minutes walk to loads of very good beach-side tavernas. The main town is just 20 minutes walk away. Local shops in abundance with a superb bakery across the road. A good location for viewing most of western Crete with its gorges, beaches and people. Definitely recommend

We enjoyed our stay at hotel Christina. The room was simple but clean and had all the facilities we needed. The balcony offered beautiful sea view. Hotel has a mini market and snackbar with good food. There is also a nice bakery very close by. The hotel is located right at the beach which was perfect. It’s also only 15-20 min walk to the old town of Chania so it was very easy to go there. What makes this hotel special is it’s beach bar and bartender Socrates. He makes delicious drinks and is a very nice person. The athmosphere at the bar was great and we felt warmly welcomed. This alone is a reason to go back to this hotel!

Stayed here for four nights after showing up with no reservation and managed to snag the last room. Constantino is a great friendly host. I had a large room with a kitchenette, and a balcony that had a sea view. The room was quiet, and nice and dark at night with the window shutters. It was a very pleasant, good budget option.

Minos Studios are the perfect place to stay in Chania. They are situated in Neo Chora which is in the new town, just back from the sea front. Its an easy walk from the bus station, about 10 minutes. To go to the harbour you can either walk along the coast road which takes about 20 minutes, or you can go back up to the main road and then into town, its an easy 10 minutes walk or once you get your bearings you can zig zag through the back streets which is even quicker. Neo Chora has a nice promenade with a couple of shops and a few restaurants - this area has really been smartened up since we last visited in 2012. Christina and Spiros are marvellous hosts and will do everything to make your holiday a good one. We stayed in Studio 32, a corner studio on the third floor. The studio was very spacious with a spacious balcony and had everything that you could need. There was also a nice sea view also which we werent expecting. The bathroom was very modern. There is a TV although there are no English channels but several of the channels seemed to have English/American films and series in the evening. Towels and sheets are changed regularly and the rooms cleaned every day. There is a lift. Chania town is delightful, with hundreds of restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. There is an indoor market which is very a tourist attraction now rather than a working market but there is a Thursday and Saturday street market. We used to go to Kalamata beach every day which is along the coast although there are lots of beaches along the coast road to visit. There is a Number 21 bus which goes from the main square along the coast to Kalamata every 20 minutes. Tickets are cheaper if you buy them from the kiosk rather than buying them on the bus - 1.70 on the bus, 2.50 on the bus per person. Kalamata beach is a small beach. There are two restaurants on the beach. We used to go in Kalamata Café - the staff there are fantastic, great food and they serve food and drinks on the beach as well as up in the restaurant. Sun beds are free if you buy a drink or food. The sea is very shallow and flat so safe for children. We visited Pelachora in the south which is a lovely small town with two great beaches either side of the town. It takes just under 2 hours on the bus - leaving at 8.45 from the bus station and we came back about 3.30 ish. So would definitely recommend Minos Studios if you wish to stay in Chania.

Great location and hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean rooms and great choice for breakfast. We came to Chania for our family holidays, and we were surprised but quality and amazing rooms we have received (two joined rooms - superior family option, very comfortable beds, on third floor with the view on the pool, which was great as we could enjoy sitting outside in the afternoon in a shaded balcony as the temperature outside was really high 30-31 degree). This is great location, about 10 min to the beach and the same to the city centre and port. There is great next door family restaurant Kokido that I would recommend to anyone (good price, great food and very nice friendly owner). Good quality gym and free safe. Definitely will go back in the future.

Hotels Near Akatos Cafe-Bar In Chania Review

Myself and my wife booked a last minute 4 day trip to Chania from Dublin at the end of October 2019 and arranged to stay bed and breakfast at the Belmondo hotel. It was just great. It is right behind the old harbour up a little side street. The room we had did not have a balcony/terrace but it was a beautiful old room with multi colour paints on the walls and ceiling. There are some hotels to the front and back of the hotel which look superb and which have balconies - some of them looking out over the beautiful harbour so talk to the hotel about which one you want. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The front door closes at 10pm for security reasons but you get a key!! There is a pizza restaurant under the hotel though I don’t think it is linked to it and we didn’t try it. The hotel is an elegant old three storey building without any lift but the stairs are not difficult. Breakfast can be served in your room or there is a small veranda outside the front door where you can sit and eat. Breakfast was slightly different every day and very nice. The variation was either an omelette or spinach pitta or a toasted ham/cheese sandwich. You also got a dish of yogurt, possibly a boiled egg and some bread and other trimmings. The hotel is beside the old harbour and loads of nearby shops and restaurants so a perfect place to stay in the town. They arranged a taxi from and to the airport for us at €23 each way which was reasonable. Lovely bathroom in the room, safe, hairdryer and stuff. Nothing much on the TV but that’s no problem! WI-FI works well subject to the odd very few seconds of blackout if you’re using your phone to listen to radio on line. Room has a lovely feel about it. If you don’t like hard beds you might have a problem with the hotel - i don’t mind firm mattresses but it might not be to everyone’s liking. That aside I would highly recommend the place and - bearing in mind of course that it was low season - the price was very reasonable and we had sun and 25 degrees all day every day even though it was the very last few days of October.

This is one of the most warm-hearted hotels! Especially in the middle of the night, I came to an unfamiliar city and met the staff who really waited for a long time. The kind of warmth is beyond words. Thanks to their dedicated service, I have a deep memory of the hotel's creed: HOSPITALITY COMES FROM HEART. Since we wanted to go to the Samaritan Grand Canyon the next morning, we did not know how to pick up the bus or ship. A touch of black. MR MARIOS on duty that night gave us the most patient help. At 6 o'clock the next day, I also asked the hotel's food and beverage department to prepare a rich breakfast for each of us. The hotel's room has two hair dryers, which is great for ladies with long hair or curly hair! Of course, there are ironing utensils. The warmest thing is that there are tea bags, not just coffee, which is really a seemingly insignificant but warm heart for Chinese tourists. The breakfast environment is very bright and clean. The waiters are plentiful, they are always watching silently around you and providing the necessary services in a timely manner. It is worth mentioning that even if there are many people, the whole dining atmosphere is very quiet and peaceful. Under the sunshine, there is a pure and beautiful. I highly recommend this hotel!

We have just returned from a two-week package holiday with Thompsons/Tui, and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The Kriti is perfectly positioned at Koum Kari, just outside the walls of the Old Town. A few minutes walk will see you at the Venetian Harbour and all the sites, bars and restaurants are within easy reach. We were in a standard room, on the second floor at the front. As requested, via the Tui website, we had a double bed, which was two singles pushed together to make one huge bed, which was very comfortable and we slept very well. It was fairly quiet at night even with the tilt&turn window open. Air-conditiooning is included and there is a ceiling fan, so temperature control is not a problem. The shower room is bright and modern with plenty of hot water at all times. There is a pull cord in the shower which is the emergency call system, not the extraction fan, as I soon found out. The room is serviced every day with toiletries, fresh linen, tea and coffee making supplies. The only problem with the room was a little dust on some surfaces, but this was very minor. The free WiFi seemed to work well in the room and in all areas of the Hotel. Breakfast was served from 07:30 till 11:30 and was of consistently high quality. I was particularly impressed by the fresh orangejuice machine, the various types of coffee available and the quality of the hot cooked breakfast options. A bonus was that if you were sat by the pool at 10:30 and fancied a Frappe or Capuchino, you didn't have to pay for it as it was considered part of the breakfast service. The pool was a pleasant place to spend an hour or two. The pool itself was quite shallow, with maximum depth of 1.3m, so not for diving in. There was a Lifeguard on duty at all times. One of the best features of the Hotel was the friendliness and high level of service provided by the staff. The front desk were very happy to give us all the information we needed and even arranged our excursions. They also lent us a USB charger. Just across the road is a little Minimarket, which has everything you could want, and In the side street close by there is an ATM machine. One word about the Tui transfer, the drop you off and pick you up at the traffic lights on the main road, not at the front of the hotel. Thoroughly recommended.

The difference between good accommodation and great comes down to the ‘one percenters’, the attention to detail in small things - quality toiletries, a welcome pack, branded towels/books/maps, a USB port next to the couch, an in-room coffee machine, good water pressure, double ply tissues, excellent daily housekeeping, a soft-close toilet seat, a soundproof room. These boxes are all ticked at Querini. In a terrific location in the heart of Chania old town, next to the Agora, our host, the gentle Manolis provided a warm welcome, greeting us like old friends and spent time explaining how room features worked, local recommendations on where to go and what to see - he followed up on every question we had, even dropping off some extra treats throughout our stay. The welcome pack included cake, rose, raki, fresh fruit and a fully stocked mini bar all of which was included in the room rate. We occupied the deluxe suite and as a couple it suited us perfectly. The suite itself is thoughtfully designed and tastefully decorated - comfortable bed/pillows, block out window furnishings, spacious bathroom including rain water shower, a cute balcony from where you can watch life in Chania go by. Facilities included a smart tv (with Netflix available at no extra charge), umbrellas, power adaptor, safe, beach towels, dressing gown/slippers - almost anything you could need. We’ve stayed in a lot of hotels and boutique accommodations and Querini is truly one of the best experiences we’ve ever had! PS Also if your stay in Crete is one part of a bigger travel adventure, it’s great to know that at the end of the street (Tsouderon) there’s a self-serve laundry where for a few euro you can do a load of washing - super convenient!

My 3rd time in Kalyves, but first at Asterina and I intend to return time and time again. Comfortable and immaculately clean apartment equipped with everything anyone would need. Wonderful welcome by Maria and her family. My apartment was directly opposite a favourite photo spot, which had a beautiful panorama of Suda Bay. I could lie in bed and look at an interrupted view of the sea! And it was accommodation with many other amenities - a rooftop sunbathing terrace with canopied shade, a grassed area opposite with comfortable rattan seating with shades, an elevated platform over the beach with steps down to the sea and a cafe which was open all day/evening. 2 good restaurants within 5 minutes walk, a supermarket that stocked virtually everything and a glorious beach at AlMy Restaurant. So very impressed!

We loved this little, boutique hotel! Originally, we wanted to stay in the Old Town but we knew we would have a car and we were nervous about negotiating the tiny streets and finding parking so we decided to stay just outside the Old Town instead. Ciel Collection Suites was a perfect choice for us. The owners have done an INCREDIBLE job of renovating the building and fitting out the hotel. They've paid so much attention to detail and all the fittings and facilities are of very high quality. The bed is exceptionally comfortable too. We stayed in the superior room with an ocean view, which I would highly recommend. The room is tiny but it has high ceilings so it feels more spacious than it is and the view is lovely. The level of service is fantastic too, the owners gave us a beautiful gift as we were on our honeymoon and the lady who looks after the hotel is just lovely. Parking was no issue as there was plenty of spots outside and the hotel is located right near heaps of restaurants and bars and easy walking distance from all the attractions and the Old Town.
