|1.73km from city centerAfter a tiring search to locate a place to stay in Bologna that was convenient and close to the train station, we were lucky to find this gem that was a 10 minute walk to the train and about a 20 minute walk to the center. Alessandro was great in welcoming us after a 10 hour flight from the US and showed us to our spacious and comfortable room. The next morning Alessandro had an array of breakfast items ready for us in the kitchen room next door. This is was perfect stay in a quiet neighborhood away from the boisterous historic center. I would stay here again if I was in Bologna!

|6.65km from city centerI visited with my family for 1 night as a night stop. On arrival the area does not look particularly attractive & the outside of the hotel looks a little tired. But once inside the hotel is lovely & the staff very friendly & helpful. The rooms are large with air conditioning & very clean with lovely shabby shic furniture. There is a car park at the back of the hotel but it is a little small although we were able to park our cars in there. Breakfast was what you would expect of a continental. There is a very good Italian restaurant next door to the hotel which we used for dinner.

|3.74km from city centerThe B&B is not as described, we were taken in to the flat which has cctv in the communal areas and given a set of keys. The man who met us at the gate spoke no English so we did not understand him and as he left quite quickly he did not give us much information. The property did not feel particularly secure as we heard what sounded like someone trying to open doors in the flat multiple times. The “air conditioning” in the twin room is actually a medium sized fan perched on a chair. When looking in the mini fridge in the room there was an open and use bottle of water. The buffet breakfast was some stale package pastries left on the table with some dirty cups. We left after 2 nights and chose to stay somewhere else as we did not feel secure or comfortable there. I’m addition to our twin room there were 3 locked rooms and we were unsure if we were sharing with other people or not, and we were not comfortable leaving our valuables there as the front door did not lock properly. I would not recommend staying there.

|1.13km from city centerThe location is very good. However, the front desk staff was a bit careless. For example, I've prepaid for the breakfast but he didn't know that, and he forgot to double check the prepaid fee when checking me out. In addition, it would be better if they removed the flies at breakfast!

|0.85km from city centerI have mixed feelings about this hostel. I do believe it’s the best hostel choice in Bologna. However, it fell short for me a few times. First of all, the city tax and any extras must be paid in cash. This was not advertised in any confirmation emails that I recall so I barely had enough for city tax upon arrival. I had to go to the ATM to pay for my towel rental. A heads up would have been nice so I could have ensured I had enough for all my extras I needed (my hostel in Rome lumped it in with the bunk credit card payment so that’s what I expected in Bologna as well). Secondly, although I ultimately had success, it was a struggle to get my laundry done. They advertise laundry service both on the website and on signs throughout the hostel, so I planned to have my laundry done at Dopa. When I asked the first day, I was told there wasn’t time (it was 4pm). The second morning I was told they didn’t have time (I asked at 8am). After I came back to the hostel that afternoon there was suddenly time for them to do my laundry so I took them up on it instead of scrambling to find a laundromat. My clothes were given back to me still slightly wet which wasn’t ideal for the €7 pricetag but I hung them on the hangers near my bunk to finish drying overnight. If laundry service wasn’t a guarantee I do feel it should be advertised that way (“laundry service as time & resources allow”). Otherwise the hostel was a typical hostel - loud, and a struggle to get into the bathrooms when you needed one (3 showers & 3 toilets shared amongst all guests). But the location was good & felt safe. And the staff did a great job keeping it clean, especially the bathrooms given how many people use them. If I was on a budget I would stay here again but I would prioritize a hotel first if possible.

|0.98km from city centerHotel location is not far from the railway station and the city center. Within 15 minutes of walking, the front desk staff is good. The hotel is some years old, the facilities are not new, the decoration is more classical, but the hotel facilities are quite complete, and the room is very clean. The room is large and comfortable, and it is economical in terms of price. It is still good.

|0.17km from city centerGreat location, everyone we met from the residence was very friendly and accommodating. The room was perfectly fine; clean, very comfortable bed, coffee machine, fridge, shower all good. The only point I would note was we had the room with the bed raised up on a platform which took up most of the space in the room. It was quite high up and with no rail or barrier around the top you had to be very careful you didn’t step off by accident. Not a room to be in if you had too much of the excellent Italian wine!!!

|0.69km from city centerStayed here for two nights in a single bed room. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. the shower was in a bit of an akward setting, but nothing too bad. Water pressure was good and plenty of hot water. This place is a ten minute walk from the train station and ten minutes from the hotel to the Main Duomo Square. Staff was excellent, they arranged a taxi for me for a really early flight from the airport, it was about a 15 minute drive from the hotel to the airport. Really cant go wrong if you need a good location and clean room for a good price.

|0.71km from city centerA nice central hotel. We stayed as a crew overnighting due a night stop. The hotel is clean and perfectly situated in the city centre for a weekend break. Needs some modernising but not to the extent of it being bad. I would stay again. The staff were very helpful (although the receptionists English was poor. Luckily I spoke Italian). The rooms are adequate and the breakfast was good and substantial. Ordered fresh coffee on tap. Be it espresso, latte, etc.

|1.12km from city centerThis is a personal opinion, the hotels location is great, just across the road from the Train station, several bus stops within walking distance and taxi rank just nearby. Overall it didn’t give me that 4 star hotel experience, I found the rooms and bathrooms outdated, the rooms could do with a refurb and better lighting and air system, could be a lot better. The areas I covered or seen are clean, staff are ok-ish except one of the receptionist (Giulia) she was brilliant and she took a request of mine at heart and delivered it as requested.

|6km from city centerOn first approach, it was clear to see that this hotel is quite far out from the city centre however explains why the prices are a lot cheaper. My partner and I stayed here in July 2022 for 4 nights and I must admit, we loved the room and overall feel of the hotel. Rooms were very clean and beds were very comfortable. We slept amazingly!! If it was just based on rooms alone, we would give this hotel five stars. However… We booked this hotel mainly because it had a pool. When we asked about the pool, we were informed we needed to book a 1 hour slot if we wanted to use it during that day. This was due to covid measures which were still in place at the hotel. So we did. Booked a 1 hour slot for the pool the following evening. When we arrived at the pool on the lower level, we noticed that the changing rooms were locked and the showers were turned off…due to Covid. Now I would typically understand some reasoning for certain covid rules but this just seemed ridiculous. A couple who were using the pool in the hour slot before us informed us to use the small shower cubicle to get changed as this had a frosted glass door on it and is the only bit of privacy you get down there. So we did! We ended up booking the pool out another two times on our stay but as reception advised following our first pool visit, get changed in your rooms then head down to the pool (assuming you don’t need to get the key from reception to unlock the pool). Towels were provided by poolside although on the first day, there was only one towel left for the two of us. On my final visit to the pool on the morning before we left, I had to go to reception in my swimming trunks because the pool was locked. Something I felt uncomfortable doing in the first place but as there was no changing facilities and the towels were locked by poolside, I reluctantly went to reception where the man behind the desk got angry at me being there in my swimming trunks. Simple solution would be to open up the changing facilities down by poolside to prevent this but hey, that was too obvious. Upon pointing out the fact that the changing facilities in his hotel were locked because they won’t open them due to Covid (which he should have known), he eventually calmed down and mentioned he understood. On our visit we also used the electric bikes which were at reception for a full day at the cost of €25 per bike per day. The system is far to complicated for what it needs to be and should be made simpler by just having reception deal with the booking. Once eventually booked, we were given the keys to the 2 bike locks, helmets and some netting for our hair (another odd covid measure which doesn’t make much sense as you will sweat through the netting anyway). As I was away to take the bikes out, I noticed that all four tyres were flat. Surely this should be inspected by the staff before the bikes are taken out?! Unfortunately staff appeared clueless on what PSI the tires had to be at and as he pumped up the first

Bologna
|0.69km from city centerWe really liked this hotel despite having got off to a poor start. The little lobby is nice with the cute staircase, despite the initial shabby street entrance. When we returned to room later at night, as we just put our stuff in the afternoon and left to explore the town we found just one chair and no suitcase holder. Having just come from Florence where there were two of everything I called reception. No answer. Ultimately I went down and asked the man at the front desk for the missing stuff. He banged on about the room being basic and that a double room is only space for 2 on the bed, one chair, no suitcase holder for any one as is the case anywhere else (according to him)!!!! The second time I came to ask for a chair as he would not respond to the phone, and again I had to call out for service. I heard him grumble and groan at being called. Again a banging on about the basic room. It's purported to be a four star so I was flummoxed but did not back down. I have some travel experience in my life. I got the stuff despite that unnecessary feeble exchange which I did not get the point of as from his attitude I had expected a real fight and was ready to leave the hotel. Thereafter I am happy to say it was smooth sailing and no further hitches. We were so happy to discover later that the others at the front desk were wonderful, as was the receptionist who checked us in before the unfortunate encounter. The breakfast room is lovely and airy. A few plants and flowers would make it perfect. Breakfast was pretty good and the service was absolutely smashing. The location is superb. Wonderful restaurants at hand, walking distance to the centre and everywhere good really. I guess they could do something to improve the street entrance (before one reached the sliding doors) as it looks pretty slummy and gives the wrong impression. Overall, great hotel, highly recommended. I do not let little incidents cloud my view.

|2.16km from city centerBooked this hotel as it is close to the train station Bologna Centrale and the city centre. The location is therefore good and set in an interesting mixed area with cheap cafes and bars nearby. There is also a large supermarket close by. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast is fairly basic considering the price you are paying for the hotel. It appears that this is mainly a hotel for business clients. However the main drawback is that there is no heating in this hotel as the A/C was switched off centrally, despite the temperature in Bologna going down to 5C at night when I was there. It is therefore cold at night in the room.

|1.17km from city centerWe have booked this place through their website and we were satisfied from the general information that we got online. To be honest it was in a very good locations. Arriving at the property we noticed that there were construction works ongoing !!! Early in the morning the noise was very loud and it was impossible to sleep. Imagine a family with 2 young children that has to wake up from that noise. The second and the biggest delusion was the apartment itself. I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN A PLACE SO DIRTY! The floor was so dirty like it has months without washing. Tested with a paper tissue… it become brown dark, disgusting. The beds were arranged with some old sheets and a couple of duvet (smelly) that was hard to sleep. Very old towels, from white they were close to grey, and with an unpleasant smell. The apartment itself was very old in furniture and equipment. Not mentioning that there was zero acoustic isolation. You can feel the next door apartment chats like they were in your room, and the road noise was crazy if your apartment with face the road. Very poor experience

|5.07km from city centerIt's a great choice at this price, as it has everything, and the service staff are very friendly. The bed and quilt are very comfortable! There are blackout curtains, I slept well. The location is also good, you can take two buses to the airport, not far to the city, and the bus stop is very close. Next to the hotel is a McDonald's that opens late at night and early in the morning, which is very convenient. The fly in the ointment is that the ”cleaned” sticker on my toilet has been torn. I don't know if the staff has cleaned it but forgot to replace it with a new sticker? I feel a little uneasy. Another point is that the minibar is not priced. In addition to these two points, I am very satisfied with this stay, and I will choose this one if I have the opportunity.

The neighborhood is just perfect for exploring the city; but also feeling that you are in a quiet little residential nook of Bologna. The garden area is splendid; and we looked forward to an extensive breakfast each morning (even when it rained). Also there is a wonderful ice cream place within about 800 feet of the hotel. |0.4km from city centerNice modern hotel, in the middle of the old town half a block off of Via dell'Indipendenza..so you are close to everything. As it’s a modern hotel, it has all the appointments with a good size desk, plenty of outlets, comfortable bed, large bathroom etc. Yes the plastic furniture is a bit much, and some is not really functional, but its still a great room, location, and service. Our room was very large with a balcony. Bed was comfortable, service was superb, and wifi was fine. I had a big birthday while I was there and my sons called the hotel from the US to arrange for a birthday cake and note to be delivered to our room. We got back to our room before dinner and there was this lovely decorated cake, display, note, big candle etc. The hotel did a great job and clearly went out of their way to make this happen. BRAVO! There was no parking at the hotel, but there is a garage just around the block that they have an arrangement with. Just reserve ahead with the hotel. The photos on the hotel website are indicative of the rooms and hotel A couple suggestions to those staying at the hotel: 1. dropping off your luggage - - the street the hotel is on is a very narrow street blocked at one end where you would walk on to Via dell'Indipendenza. In driving to the hotel to drop our bags off google maps had me turning right on to their street, Via dell’ Orso, from Viccola Quartirolo…do not do that. you are not supposed to drive there, plus its a one way (left only) and its very hard to make the right turn anyway given the narrow street and restaurant on the corner. The restaurant people told us to back up back on to Viccola Quartirolo…. Then make a left and then back up down the street to the hotel. When it was time to leave, we rolled our bags down to where the restaurant was and then I went and got the car and stopped right there when I made the left turn . 2. room darkening - the first night at the hotel I did not see any shades to stop the light coming in from the balcony. The next morning I realized there were shutter doors to close on the balacony …which I did not notice at night. Overall, between the location, service, and accommodations, I would highly recommend staying at the hotel.
