Express Inn is right smack in the middle of Downtown Cebu, along Osmeña Road. The place is very accessible to the touristy attractions and is convenient for people who may need a midnight snack as there is a 24 hour 7-eleven close by. We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. In that very short span, it is observable how the staff are stressed and overworked. Our last day prior to check out, they ran out of eggs for the breakfast rush and there was no one to buyfresh supplies. The delivery was confirmed, but nothing came the previous night and the people in charge were passing on the responsibility for the purchase. The room was ok, quite small for a 2-single bed. If you want to have hot or cold water for your drinks, you have to call the restaurant at the 12th floor to have it ready and you go fetch it. There was no room service available, too. No fridge in the room; housekeeping is only available when you ask them to clean up. Hot and cold in the shower was available 24 hours and toiletries were provided, including towels. I feel for the staff. They have been gracious and all smiles, doing the best they can with what they are being provided with. Records keeping was flawed, as there had been information about our stay that was not properly turned over. I would recommend the inn for proximity to the basilica and the fort, but I would also recommend for the owner to improve their manner of handling their personnel.

It’s all about expectations here. The price is very low (we paid <15USD for a twin room), so don’t expect a Ritz Carlton experience, you get a room with the basics – that’s it. Our standard room was of adequate size, had no windows, a TV with many satellite stations, an individual AC that was adjustable in temperature (other reviews said it isn’t). The bed was a bit hard but manageable. Sheets and pillow covers were clean. The superior rooms may have windows, but that can also mean that you have street noise. Internet speed was quite ok. You need to ask for a voucher which is good for 24hrs and one device only. We got two vouchers, maybe you can get more if you ask. The staff at the reception was professional and helpful, not overly friendly but definitely not unfriendly, as some other reviewers commented. They happily gave us information on what Jeepney numbers to use and provided us with an adaptor for the wall plug. All AC outlets in the hotel are US style flat prong. Note that you are required to leave a 1000 Peso cash security deposit upon check-in. There are several signs that explain that you won’t get the deposit back if you smoke in your room. No issue for us, we got the money back as soon as housekeeping confirmed the room was OK when we checked out. The lobby looks very old and run down, again: this is not the Ritz. There are some tables and you can order food and drinks, the AC is nice and cold though. but it’s not a place you want to spend any more time than absolutely needed. The do keep luggage for safekeeping when you check out, don’t know for how long though we only needed it for a few hours. The location of the Hotel is in a busy part of town that is somewhat rundown, but we never felt unsafe – even at night, when we walk around looking for a place to have dinner. There’s a 24hr Metro supermarket around the corner too. Overall this place is good to stay for one night on your way in or out of Cebu, especially if you travel to/from the southern bus terminal. BTW: “Nuat Thai” around the corner has good 1hr massages for 200Peso.

Take the bus from Oslob back to Cebu City. I arrived at the bus station and wanted to take a taxi to the hotel. I searched the map and it was only a ten-minute walk. Because everyone traveled lightly, Decided to walk over, it was quite prosperous along the way. There are also convenience stores, supermarkets, restaurants to eat, pizza hut, Starbucks, etc. near the hotel. But next to the hotel is the funeral home ... the hotel's sanitary facilities are okay. It is also very convenient to go to the sights of the city the next day, and it is just a walk. Overall, the price / performance ratio is okay.

Sky park is a decent place to stay in the city if you’re on a budget. We stayed at the 3F where the wi-fi is fast & reliable inside the room. Comfy double bed & pillows, clean sheets. Basic cable TV with hot & cold shower. Restaurant (with room service) that serves food as early as 6 in the morning & as late as 9 in the evening. Courteous staff, working elevators (recommended for Seniors/ PWDs) Tip: there is a 24 hour food hub just outside the place. A lot of sari-sari stores within the area. Convenient stores/ malls are nearby. Accessible location.

Staff are non existent. You’ll have to go to them personally if you want things done or do it yourself. Dining staff failed to set a welcoming atmosphere, they are not accommodating. Such a messy set up once you get to the dining area. I’ll have to bring up the security personnel at the entrance of the hotel who gave me a nasty stare. Definitely a no no, so sad since the place is so accessible to different areas of cebu city

The people at Cocobanas were friendly. Stayed at Cocobana superior deluxe) and recommend it for its close proximity with heater and a/c. The clean the rooms daily. Only feedback was a little wait time, but then again you're at a local beach resort and they're not trained to the service standarss of 4-5star hoteliers that we're used to. So its OK for their standard. There is a 24h local breadshop about 7mins walk to market, located exactly where the market is. Its fresh bread and some cakes (limited range) that are very cheap. Had that for light breakfast being going for the thresher shark dives early in the morning. I find it good to eat something small before a dive rather than dive on an empty stomach. Please consider supporting the locals as the earn very little and here I find them honest and sincere. Supporting them means supporting their livelihoods and also their families. Please also considering tipping them generously if you are grateful for their services. Between dives I walked around to explore the village. I found a catholic church named Virgen de los Desamparados (8 min walk from TSD), where the locals believe in Mother Mary's intercession that helped to protect the locals during the 2013 typhoon. I asked a local about it and he shared that during the typhoon, even though there was damage to the homes and structures, not a single person died. How amazing! Safe stay to all travelling.

Price-wise, it is quite a value for money, given the fact that it is close to the Provincial Capitol, Cebu Doctors Hospital and the rest of the businesses around Escario. The rooms are relatively clean, although the mismatched slippers somehow give a weird impression. I moved from a twin room to a double room and found that the room setup for both rooms are based on the twin room setup... the headboard in the double room is on BOTH SIDES of the bed, not above it. Plus, the only outlet in the room is found a foot above the bed. Boiling water would actually mean laying the kettle on the bed. Hot and cold shower in the bathroom, toilet has bidet (I know this is somewhat important to local guests) Staff are friendly, from the guard to the front office staff to the housekeeping. Breakfast is adequate and served in a room that desperately needs acoustic paneling. The laundromat in front of the hotel is run by a wonderful lady.

What impressed me most was the staff. They aim to please. Very well trained. Thank you to the nurse and IT team. And the front desk calls back your room to confirm that you received support. Very well done. People skills and details. From the gym to the pool and the kitchen, all the staff approached me in a natural professional way. Everyone was personable and very professional. And they cared about what they do. Ive been to all the hotels, Seda, Waterfront, Quest and on and on and this hotel has the best people. Room was very comfortable. Hot water always available. Spent 4 days, 3 nights. OK location between Robinson’s Cybergate Mall and Fuente Circle. tThe room was small, with loud a/c, sat tv & lousy wifi. No fridge or electric kettle. Rough worn linen and towels. The bathroom was just ok; the shower not so good — kinda moldy. But the cafe downstairs has good fare. Have bfast included in your reservation if it’s a couple of bucks more. The official pics weren’t in any room that I peaked into.

The hotel location is relatively close to Ayala, about 70P by car. There are restaurants around McDonald's & # 127828; and local fast food restaurants, as well as 7-11. The rooms are relatively large, mainly relative to the Red Planet & # 127976 ;. Breakfast was quite satisfactory and there were more varieties, and several cakes were not bad. The hotel staff is super nice, and there is a Chinese-speaking MM at the front desk, which is very kind. Hotel facilities are relatively old, but worth a few hundred yuan, so it is considered affordable. Hotel showers are salty, which is not as good as other hotels. In short, it is still recommended to stay.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights Feb.15 & 16, 2020. As a frequent world traveler, we stayed anywhere from cheap apartments, ecolodges, B&Bs , camps, home-stay to 5-star hotels and everything in between in diff. continents. Having said that : A) Very convenient - Property is located in the heart of Cebu city, close to restaurants, shopping & transportation. B) Safe - 24 hours security & room safe is provided. C) Comfort - there’s hot shower, comfortable beds with clean quality linens. I also find the bathroom towels of better quality. D) Service - couldn’t ask for more. Staff went all the way to buy me a couple of Beer outside (late night) ‘coz they don’t have the brand I want. At no extra cost. E) Clean, and F) Good value - had “breakfast for dinner” delivered (room service) for two (2) which consists of rice, egg, fried milk fish w/ garnishing, can of soda & bottled water for $ 5.20 ! Very big but I stayed a few days. I like this hostel it's right by the mall. So it's easy to find places to shop. But it's hard to stay longer than a few days. The distance from the airport by car to the hotel is about 13km, and it is 15mins from South Bus Terminal. There is a supermarket and restaurants in 10mins. The hotel check in required a deposit of 1000piso, and the two hotels I changed afterwards did not require a deposit. The hotel arranges high floors as required but the sound insulation is not ideal. I can accept it because the window is facing the road. The basic facilities of the room are simple but very clean and the space is large enough, and the curved design of the windows is the first time I have seen them. Overall is satisfactory.

Pros: *located just in front of Robinson's Galleria and one block away from SM City Cebu, and just a 10-minute ride to Ayala Center sans traffic *the staff were so accommodating and courteous *menu at their restaurant is varied and tasty *a variety of American and native breakfast every morning Cons: *the hotel is still fine but a bit old like there were chips on some tiles and cracks on the wooden walls *some movements in the other room can be heard in our room *no system on contacting their housekeeping unit supervisor. (After checkout, we lost my daughter's wallet and we went back to the hotel to check if she left it at our room or she must have dropped it under the bed. It took aus a lot of time to wait for the confirmation from the housekeeping if they have seen it upon checking during checkout. My daughter has to go back inside the room to check it though it had already been made up.) All in all, I would still recommend this hotel. And we would surely stay back here again if our itinerary is just within its area.

I stayed at Castel peak Hotel in the Grand Superior Room Stayed Jan 28 - Feb 4, 2020. I payed for and was expecting no window room but to my surprise I had and excellent room on main street side with several windows one on both sides of building had a corner room number 712 top floor and the windows opened on one side. I recommend get room street side. I had a very pleasant experience. there is a restaurant in the hotel the food was pretty good the amenities there at the hotel was awesome weight/ room sauna/little pool/they offer massages. there is a little bar and an outside balcony to relax outside. The staff in every area was very pleasant and willing to help in any way. The room was pretty clean. I liked the things they offer in the bathroom hair dryer body wash and shampoo in big dispensers the shower was huge big see through glass big enough for two to have a good time in if you like! House keeping is Awesome also anything you need they bend over backwards to get for you they leave 2 bottles of water each time they clean the room I thought was very nice touch. There is a safe in the room. I thought was great. A/C worked just fine. There is a little convince store right next door connected to hotel that offers many things you might need or want. One Review I read on here about the hotel before booking about they charged extra on his card that they didn't expect.. This was not the case for me. I checked my card and asked if any other charges will be added to my card they said no and that was the case as soon as I got home I checked my card no extra charges. When I go back to the Cebu Philippines I will defiantly stay there again and if room 712 is open I would request that room excellent view enjoyed just watching the people and traffic from the windows...cant say enough Great Time

Overall quality of Cebu Grand Hotel: - Strong mold/mildew odor throughout the building. - Lack of any cleaning skills - Lack of any maintenance - Excessive moisture/water damage throughout - Rats in the ceiling - Dirty AC-unit and very dirty filter - Health risk Me and my wife's experience: We chose this hotel due to us testing positive for covid-19 and this is one of the few hotels in Cebu City that provides a self-isolation service with full-board meals for 5000 PHP per night. Upon arrival we notice a strong mold/mildew odor from the hotel lobby even when wearing two masks and a face shield (which continues throughout the building), the on-site nurse checks our temperature etc. and then we are sent off to our room. When entering the room the mold/mildew smell intensifies and we try to settle inn. We start to notice that there has been water/moisture damage several places in the ceiling. The air coming out of the aircondition unit has a fowl smell apart from the mold/mildew smell. I open the filter of the AC-unit and notice that it is very dirty to say the least. I then proceed to call the hotel lobby to get the air filter cleaned, which they do, but after a while we still can't bear the smell of the mold/mildew. I start checking to see if the room has any visual mold/mildew. Shortly I find mold/mildew growth several places in the room and immediately call the lobby to have us transferred to a different room on the condition that I am allowed to inspect the room first. When inspecting several of the rooms that they show me, I find the same issues in all of the rooms. I am then shocked that they would even think that their hotel is safe for anyone to stay in. They then tell me that they will asses the issues in the morning and since I and my wife have to self-isolate we have no choice but to stay in the hotel. Me and my wife desperately try to find another isolation hotel but with it getting late we have no luck getting in contact with another hotel. We end up going to sleep only for a few hours wearing two face masks each to decrease the risks of breathing in the toxic mold/mildew air. We then wake up at 2 am because of the intense moldy air and cannot fall back to sleep. Luckily for us there was a private balcony in our room and we stayed out there to get fresh air. We stayed there until about 11 am when we were able to transfer to a different hotel to continue our isolation (the other hotel provided the same service, but with clean room, building, air etc. and full board meals for about 1000 PHP per night, very big difference). I am surprised how little they care for their guests and to put someone who has a weakened immune system fighting covid in an environment like that is seriously dangerous. Every breath you take in that hotel is a health risk. I am amazed that they are even open and even more amazed that they where on the certified list for approved hotels to stay in for covid patients. They wanted 5000 php per night! This is a joke

Loved this place!! I was upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment (booked for 1 bedroom) and it was so wonderfully spacious, clean, and decorated in modern contemporary setting. I did not expect anything like it. We stayed in a Junior Suite at the hotel side of the property at first, then moved to the apartments. I would not go back to the hotel anymore, in terms of their bigger size, quiet upper floors, well lit, wonderful kitchen to warm up left-overs and eat in suppers. Just missed the family to help fill up the space... :) Nothing to complain for sure. The staff f were wonderful and so hospitable. We had in-room massages every night, and the business center manager even came up to bring the masseuses, to make sure all is good and being supervised. VERY MUCH looking forward to return.
