We were in Erfurt for the Christmas market which was literally outside the front door so if you're not into walking for your gluhwein and sausages look no further. The apartment is beautifully decorated and very well equipped, we partly self catered in the well equipped kitchen with great success (only partly, Thuringian sausages at the market proved irresistible for at least one meal a day) and there is a supermarket very close by. Despite literally overlooking the market all the noise is finished by 10pm and then the square is basically deserted to it's actually quite a restful place. The tram to/from the main railway station is just outside so easy to walk to. One note of warning is that the apartment has no elevator and several flights of stairs so if you can't manage to carry your own bags up three storeys this might be an issue, if you can, it's well worth the exercise. We were checked in by a charming lady who explained where everything was, how to find the supermarket and so on. A short walk from the Kramerbrucke and the statue of Bernd Das Brod (if that means nothing to you look him up on YouTube - a bonkers children's TV character), perfectly located for wandering around the pretty city centre.

We enjoyed our one night stay in this small hotel located about a 10 minute walk from the old historical center. Our room was very clean with modern, tasteful furnishings and a great shower. The patio in the back was a nice space to rest and hang out. The breakfast was great: a good variety of breads, cereals, yoghurts, cheeses and cold meats - all very fresh. Staff was very friendly and helpful..

This hostel's major strength is that it's cheap. The hostel was overbooked when I stayed there with a group. You're forced to use an antiquated pay-for-internet-time system that works sporadically at best. The rooms are small. Showers are on a short timer. And, during a stay with a group, the hostel screwed up the reservation with no apology. If fact, the approach of the staff and the manager is that they're doing a favor by just being there. Maybe it works for Germans familiar with such an attitude. But if you're a foreigner be very wary of this place or at least be prepared to be insulted. There are alternative lodgings in Erfurt and Weimar. I would urge you to consider them.

If you are not familiar with the Ibis chain, be aware you are getting a no-frills budget hotel, and keep your expectations accordingly. The only toiletry is a combination soap/shampoo. No washcloth. Like other Ibis hotels, there is not a real A/C. Unless you can set a proper temperature in your own room, Ibis should not even advertise the chain has A/C. Excellent location for sightseeing in the Altstadt. Use GPS to find the hotel as you have to navigate some small side streets to get there. Helpful, friendly front desk staff, and the room kept very clean. Wi-fi worked well. Breakfast was 12 Euros/pp. The woman working the dining room seemed overworked. If a dish on the buffet was empty (like scrambled eggs), it would not be replenished, even 45 min. before breakfast was over. Since the A/C didn't really work, we had to sleep with the windows open, but there was no noise. The hotel underground parking garage is 15 Euros/night. No problem parking inside as long as you have an average size car. Street parking is difficult to find near the hotel during the day. Were it not for the lack of A/C and spotty service on the buffet, I would rate this hotel higher. I would stay here again if it was a cooler season of the year.

There is no better location in Erfurt than the Krämerbrucke Hotel. It's as simple as that. It is smack in the centre of the old city and next-door neighbour to the iconic Krämerbrücke. You step out the door and you're right in the middle of the square in front of the bridge with great atmosphere and crowds of people enjoying a beer or a meal. It is a little odd to have this very modern hotel in the middle of all the old buildings but it means you can stay in absolute comfort and be right in the middle of everything. There is a fair bit of noise from all the activities in the square in the evening, but with the windows closed it is not a problem. We had the windows open because it was in July and warm, and the noise didn't bother us. It's part of the atmosphere. We had booked a double room with a view to the Krämerbrücke. We had room no. 318 on the top floor. You can see the Augustine Monastery, the square, and the Krämerbrücke from the room but to see the Krämerbrücke you have to lean out a bit. The windows are not large. But it is nice and certainly better than a view to one of the narrow streets or the back of the hotel. There are many mirrors in the room which is nice and some nice lighting details. There are small lights next to the bed with sensors that turn on automatically so if you get up in the night you have these small lights to guide you. The bathroom is not large but very nice and modern. The breakfast was amazing – a huge selection of cold and hot dishes – everything you can imagine. Driving to the hotel is doable but the cobbled streets are extremely narrow. There is hotel parking at road level at the side of the hotel and also a parking basement below the hotel. Both are quite narrow and get tightly packed. But at least you can bring your car. In summary, this is a very comfortable hotel in the best possible location in Erfurt.

We loved this hotel in our previous stays and this time was no different! The front desk folks are very professional and warm in their greetings. I find it easier to first park the car in their underground garage and make your way up to the front desk. However there is room in front of the hotel for temporary parking while you check-in, if you’re lucky. The garage entrance is to the rear of the building. It is a one-way entrance so there is no worries of someone coming out, unless it is by accident. The breakfast is always to look forward to enjoying. For us, the 7 to 8 o’cloch time is best in the breakfast room. It seems that folks are still sleeping. We’re already planning a trip back for the Christmas Market! We can’t wait.

We stayed at this hotel for a few nights during the winter holiday season. We arrived in Erfurt via train, and we took a taxi to the hotel, which is south of the station. The ride was only a few minutes and not expensive. The hotel is located in a residential neighborhood. I walked around late one evening, and the area seemed quiet and safe. There are a few small shops nearby, such as a grocery and a bakery. Notably, there is a tram stop only a block away, on Tschaikowskistraße. The facilities were clean and modern, and our room was large and spacious. We had a room on an upper level overlooking Friedrich-Naumann-Straße and there was almost no street noise. Staff members were polite and helpful. Every morning the restaurant offered a basic European-style breakfast. Our room rate did not include breakfast, but we did receive tram passes, which allowed for unlimited rides during our stay. This was *very* convenient, as the nearby tram stop goes straight to the train station and then onward to the city center. (The desk attendant told us that if we were “controlled” on the tram we’d need to show a form of identification, but this never occurred!) I would recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a good option out of the city center.

The staff honestly are the best part of this experience. They're all very helpful and welcoming. Everyone from the front desk to the cleaning staff are all very hard working and great at their jobs. The hallways are very dark and reminiscent of a horror film with bad lighting and old 1980s style carpeting. Don't let that fool you though, the rooms are very bright, clean and relaxing. There is something to be said about being able to hear everyone and anything around you. The walls are seemingly very thin, and you can easily hear people in the hallway talking even at normal levels. Overall though, a good experience for the price.

This is an interesting hotel, but beware there is not lift and the rooms are on the third floor. It is located along a busy road, so you definitely want to ask for a room away from the road unless you like drifting off to the sound of traffic. Breakfast is basic, but includes fresh made eggs. The hotel is close to the subway, so it is easy to take public transportation downtown. No good location to place a second suitcase. We ended up putting in the bathroom, which was quite large.

Conveniently located near airport and highway. Surprisingly quiet regarding the location but on second thought it is not a frequent airport. The staff is friendly and rooms are clean. Maybe in need of updating furniture (especially door locks for rooms). Morning buffet breakfast has nice selection of cold and hot foods and nice selection of fruits. It's an excellent choice for busy business traveler since they offer free wifi all over the building. Besides all the price is acceptable.
