0.86km from downtownFirst up: There is nothing Japanese about this hotel - but the rooms are nice and the mini bar is free. On a business trip, we’d organised boating activities along the lake. The Nippon’s location was perfect - just 7 minutes walk to the water - and with a large, healthy convenience store in the middle. It will cost you €20 for a cab to the Nippon from the airport - which is a €40 return journey. That might bring other hotels in to play - for example near Hauptbahnhof. The room was a good size, very modern, with a powerful AC unit (very welcome - since we booked in the middle of a 34 degree heatwave). Breakfast is basic and the staff are friendly. It is a fine example of a good 4-star hotel near the main lake. VERY STRANGE: The photos online make the hotel look like a Japanese dojo. Our experience was of a very straightforward western-style hotel. Not a tatami, bamboo curtain or chopstick in sight.

0.97km from downtownEverything is different at the moment because of CORONA... We chose this hotel because it was one of few hotels that had opened the pool area. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed it very much. The spa area was closed but the spa pool was really nice /quiet and relaxing. It was nice to swim outside. It was heated. The spa area lokkede really nice as we walked through it. The fitness classes were all fully booked - but I was lucky to get a spot from the waiting list. The yoga was good. ( We didn't know we had to book in advance from home which would have given us more options of different fitness classes) next time we will do that. The gym is really nice. The garden around the hotel is beautiful. The breakfast was at the lobby and it tasted really good. A clean and nice hotel where you can relax and be active. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. There are a lot of great restaurants walking distance from the hotel. And the bus is easy to use - bus stop right outside the hotel. We enjoyed this calm and stress-free hotel... It might be different after corona. Maybe we'll take the kids next time. They can play soccer and much more...
1.01km from downtownA contemporary hotel in a perfect location. The rooms are spacious, well-decorated with all necessary comfort. If the welcoming wasn’t of the warmest, the bar’s food was delicious with a special mention for the vegetable bowls. However, one of the main problems, was the spider overpopulation. There were hundreds of them wandering on the balconies, moving through their spiderwebs while customers were eating and drinking. Corona measures were well-respected and the fitness center had a wonderful equipment. Professional but failed to create a welcoming and heartwarming atmosphere. Breakfast was a huge disappointment as microscopic portions were served. As a conclusion, the Fontenay hôtel is great place which stills need a few improvements.

1.25km from downtownThe hotel is in a beautiful old building on the Aussen Alster that is being renovated. We had one of the new rooms with a sitting room and gloriously large bathroom. I'm very sensitive to noises of all kinds and I slept really well. Lovely location right across from the walking path around the lake. Slight demerit: The curtains were new but not functioning property. Breakfast was good but not great.

1.28km from downtownI have stayed in this hotel several times over the last years both because it is convenient for work and also because of its qualities. For those who like ultra-modern hotels it is better to look elsewhere, but the rooms are spacious and have high ceilings, the beds are comfortable and there is a good bathroom with a decent shower, The staff on reception are always helpful and friendly and the breakfast is excellent. There is a small bar and lounge downstairs for your convenience. It is one of those hotels which still have door keys instead of cards. I shall continue staying there.
1.37km from downtownThe location of the hotel is convenient, breakfast is rich, especially the variety of bread is delicious and delicious. The service was warm and thoughtful. After checking in, I found that there was no kettle. The front desk of the phone was quickly sent and praised. The room has slippers and toiletries and delivers fruit. The key rooms are oversized, hard to find in Europe, and very clean. I have to live next time!

1.46km from downtownThe hotel resembles the hotels in London - being a part of a large residential block in a very luxury district in Hamburg. White 4-storey building with very large windows in a very quiet location again largely resembles such London areas as St John's Wood or Maida Vale. The decor refers to the old times, the room (a double room in my case) was good size, and can be heated very quickly. Unexpectedly - very good shampoo and body lotion in the standard amenities set. Sound insulation and heavy non-transparent curtains provided a really good-night sleep. The breakfast is very nice - large and very good quality variety of breads, pastries, fruits, cheese. Really - the breakfast is what a breakfast much be. Excellent location - close to 2 tube stations (3-4 minutes walk), 20-25 minutes to the airport (from Klosternetz), 10-15 minutes to the city centre (from Eppendorf Baum), 7 minutes walk to Alster, 2 definitely must-visit restaurants in 2 minutes walk. My only discomfort was a non-stable Internet connection at all times. Will stay again while in Hamburg!
1.46km from downtownWith a stay at Milano Hotel in Hamburg (Hamburg-Nord), you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Hamburger Kunsthalle and Moenckebergstrasse. 1.47km from downtownSo let’s start with the good- it’s a big spacious room, with a kitchenette if you want to make food, and it’s in a very residential quiet neighborhood (if that’s your thing, it was great for us) and close to a train stop. This is not a hotel. It’s like a boarding house. So don’t expect your room cleaned, or a front desk person at night. Might be good for someone visiting for business? The bad. Ok no a/c at all. We were boiling. We had to keep the windows open all night, which meant lots of bugs flying in... not ideal. Also the WiFi was really spotty. The bathroom light was motion sensor only, so it was kind of annoying that you couldn’t just turn it on or off. And this is weird but we decided to do laundry in the basement (which was straight out of a horror movie) and the washers and dryers didn’t work well and even took some of our money without working. So, it wasn’t our favorite place, but wasn’t awful. Make sure to weigh the pros and cons!

1.49km from downtownThe room was big, nice, comfortable, and impeccably clean. Comfortable, and nice. Everything was very clean! The staff was friendly and helpful. It had a minibar, and a sitting area. And an Elevator. What could be a little better: - a shower door that doesn't leak water into the bathroom, and - an electric outlet near the bed. Less traffic noise (which the hotel obviously has no control over)
1.49km from downtownWe spent one night at this hotel which is part of a group of hotels in an old palace. We came late at night and the concierge was waiting for us. The room ( for 3) was spacious and clean. Big enough bathroom with good shower pressure. The breakfast was served individually at the tables with a good bread quality and they even had gluten free choices of bread. The bus #5 stops a couple of meters away and it takes 10 minutes to the central station. We enjoyed our stay and would come back gladly.

1.51km from downtownI left it late to book a hotel for our trip to Hamburg and then settled on Hotel Wagner im Dammtorpalais . The choice of hotels offering triple rooms is very limited. I couldn't fault this hotel (except maybe the wifi being very slow). The rooms are modern, spotlessly clean, the staff are very friendly and the location very good. It is near a station for easy access from the airport and it is a short walk to the main areas.

The location is very good, the hotel is very clean, the breakfast is good, and the business trip is very satisfactory.
Well aware of what to expect from an Ibis, I decided to give this section of the Ibis selection a chance by staying a bit detached from downtown Hamburg but not that far; one is at the heart of the city in no time, tube station U3 Hamburger Strasse is no 5min away on foot! The aera is purely residential, extremely quiet, really away from the hussle and bussle, perfect for families; in the surroundings one finds supermarkets, coffee shops, small restaurantes, a petrol stations and one shopping mall, the famous Hamburger Meile! The concept of style differs depending on the location, the idea is to adapt to the area and make basic special: if that is the target, they did succeed in this ibis Style branch, although it could definitely cost a little less for not being that central... Similar standards found in any Ibis around the world can be expected there, though I got amazed at how large the room was, compared to a usual tiny Ibis size! There is no wardrobe in the room, the floor is carpeted, I couldn't find where to control the temperature and the worktable is too small for an adult; some furniture is already a bit tired and scratched, bathroom is all right but towels are reaching their due lifetime... Breakfast is rather basic but you really won't miss anything there; bread is fresch but juice isn't and only scrambled eggs are the warm options. But bear in mind it is an Ibis anyway and the the hotel lays between two supermarkets, if you miss something! It's a place to bear in mind for short stays in the future but management should really see into price, for it should really cost much less given its location and what it offers - thumbs-up, though, anyway!
Deliberately chose a hotel suitable for shopping, it is really good, next door is the mall, you can go shopping at any time, hotel facilities are not like five stars, put China is the most four stars, the waiter attitude is very good, some general, especially Restaurant waiter! I have had two burgers at the bar. It’s so delicious that you have to try it! The breakfast is almost always cool. It’s enough to eat for seven days. I still want to bring some Chinese food. I don’t want to save money.
We stayed 4 nights in this excellent resort. It was very quiet and our room had plenty of space. Our bed was good and comfortable and as it is a fairly new resort everything was really well kept, very clean and everything was of high quality. The bathroom was very nice and large enough for 2 persons. It is near the main station and within a short walking distance of the main areas such as Rathaus, Jungfernsteg, Speicherstadt etc. and the main shopping streets. We had a cooking facility, but we only had breakfast as there are so many good restaurants in Hamburg. A delight was being able to drink Nespresso coffee as there is a machine in every room. When we come back to Hamburg we know where we will stay. The staff at the reception were very helpful when we had questions.
Very reasonable hotel. Basic but perfectly adequate for the trip at hand. The buffet breakfast was well worth the €12. The bar was an excellent place to start the festivities. Staff were top notch and very helpful. As others have said though it is noisy. A busy street opposite a police station. What would you expect? Take earplugs. All will be good.
The hotel’s location is excellent, and the shopping district is a great place to go. Walk to Central Station for 15 minutes and get to the City Hall in seven or eight minutes. Breakfast is quite satisfactory, if you want to eat something different, there are many good restaurants near the hotel. Win in an extremely advantageous location.
The most satisfying and cost-effective hotel reminds me of Japan, every detail is very thoughtful, even if the room is not big. The occupancy rate in winter is not high. Going left and turning left at the traffic lights is the red light district. The S1 line Reeperbahn station is also here, 10 minutes to the train station central.
It is accidental to book this hotel this time, because the booking time is very short, so the price is not cheap. Hotel location is very close to the train station, very clean, breakfast is quite rich, although it is three-star, but comparable to the four-star hotel
It is still very close to the airport. There is a taxi at 15-20 Euros. There is no shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel. The hotel has a free shuttle bus to the airport, but you need to download the app to make a reservation. If you don't understand English, it is very troublesome. My friend doesn't understand English. I got the app one day, but I didn't take the free shuttle bus the next day and took a taxi to the airport. There is a radisson blue opposite Hamburg Airport, which is enough to walk. The holiday is still very good, the rooms are very good, modern style, complete facilities, full health, restaurant food is cheap, taste is also very good
The location of the hotel is very good, very close to Hamburg train station and bus station. There are many restaurants around, very convenient. The room is also quite clean, and you can see nice wallpapers when you sleep on the bed.
But what is more disappointing is the service of this shop. We stayed for two nights, and the door was opened inexplicably the next morning. At that time, the boyfriend didn't wear clothes in the room, and then yelled, and the man closed...We only saw that it was a woman but didn't see her face clearly. Asked the cleaning staff and they didn't admit that they opened the door. We asked the front desk and didn't answer. This is too insecure. The door was opened inexplicably. We had to take out our camera and put it at the door.
Such a cool hotel, perfect for seeing Hamburg, the hotel has a nautical Captain Nemo nautical vibe, no wonder as it’s located right in the middle of Hafencity and so handy for all the places you need to see. There’s loads of great bars and restaurants close by and a big car park on the opposite side of the road, (there’s even a Hydrongen fuel cel charging station just down the road, how cool was that!) My room was perfect for me and had a nice selection of La Bottega soaps and toiletries and facing the rear of the building was super quiet The lady running breakfast checkin deserves special praise as she was super helpful and despite their being a fire alarm one morning, the staff were friendly and efficient I will definitely return, thanks to the Pierdrei team
I've stayed in Hamburg many times but wanted to experience something different, so decided to book this hotel. The rooms are unique but very well laid out to maximize space. I loved everything about the room (except for the rock hard pillows) and the hotel. It is also located within steps of the S-Bahn (the S1 is only 2 stops from the Haupbahnhof (Main Train Station) and only 30 minutes direct to the airport. The area is also within steps of the main shopping district yet only a few minutes walk to the harbour/river. With everything within walking distance, there was no need for using transit. The hotel also has a really neat "vibe" and the staff are all fluent in English and very helpful. The rooms are very comfortable except for the rock hard pillows (I purchased an airline pillow after the first night). While the breakfast is adequate, the bread selection was very limited and portions extremely small (bread rolls). These were the only minor issues I found otherwise I enjoyed my stay.
The train station has to take a stop on the S light rail in the past, and the Chinese traveled by the youth travellers, the communication is very smooth. The girl at the front desk also sent a bottle of Baique Antelope Hand Cream, which made her hands no longer chapped and painful in the days of wandering in Europe. I am very grateful! The room is a bit small but very clean, there is a small supermarket opened by the Chinese downstairs, everything is fine, except that the price is a bit expensive.
The hotel is very clean and heated. The laundry is dry overnight. There are many supermarkets nearby. Turn left at a shopping festival like an outlet. The cosmeceuticals are very full. The brands are second-tier brands. The breakfast is very close.
Never been to Hamburg before; read reviews for this hotel and took it. The short walk from the U-bahn I had a few doubts... lots of gratiffi etc (I'm not a prude, but thought maybe I'd made a bit of a "too colorful" choice). Got to the hotel and it was great. Newly remodeled, very clean and modern. The desk manager was absolutely the best and most friendly I have ever run in to, even at 5-star hotels. She volunteered info, maps, umbrella etc, gave hints for where to walk close in the neighborhood to find shops and supplies. Room was wonderful. Good new bathroom, great shower. Good quality towels and shampoo. Breakfast buffet was top notch. There were the typical pan of eggs and sausage, but then tons of other high quality food. Multiple cheeses [real cheese, not just slices]. Lox and 3 other fish items. Excellent deviled eggs, each day had different toppings. Will definitely stay here again.
The hotel can be clean and hygienic, drive to the warehouse city, the miniature landscape world, and the Elbe Concert Hall, all in just 5 minutes. The hotel has a parking space of 18 euros, but the road parking at the hotel entrance is free at night. If you want to save money, you can stop by the road.
I stayed for seven nights at the Ibis St Pauli Messe from 30th May to 6th June 2019. Although the hotel's reception area was in the middle of refurbishment, the friendliness and helpfulness of the reception staff meant that this did not impact on the pleasure of my stay in any way. My room was basic but very clean as were the en suite facilities. Breakfast was of a high standard and the staff courteous and helpful. The hotel is close to St Pauli Messe U and thus the city centre and other areas are easily accessible. There are good restaurants in the vicinity. My only complain would be that the room did not have a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities. I know this was made clear before I arrived, but it would have made a big difference to my stay to have made myself a cup of tea on waking and on returning to the hotel at the end of the day. The Holiday Inn Express hotel opposite, which is of a similar standard, did provide such facilities. This apart, I would recommend heartily recommend this hotel as a Hamburg touring base.
The most comfortable hotel to stay in. Just at the airport, about seven hundred meters away, the airport has been looking very good. After breakfast is not bad. There are DM and LIDAL in the vicinity of a few hundred meters.
The location is excellent, and all the sights and shopping centers in the city of Hamburg are walking distance. Close to the Dommtor train station, it is convenient to get on and off the train and light rail, and it is less safe than the central station. The view of the floor on the floor is good, but there is a bar downstairs with some noise at night. There was something wrong with Ctrip when booking. The three-night order allowed me to split it into 1+2, saying it was cheap. After the first night of confirmation, after a day, the text message told me that because the contact could not be contacted, the second order could not be completed (very strange reason), and the price went up a lot when the order was placed! And every morning I have to go to the front desk to check out and check in. Although I just walked through the game, it also added a lot of trouble.
We stopped here for a night while going through Hamburg, but didn't have time to spend more than one night here. Our stay had nothing to do with it being Eco-friendly, but that was a nice bonus. The room had one bed and some space, and there was an extra double bed in a separate bedroom. It worked great for our family of five including 3 kids. The breakfast was a highlight, and was very fresh. They made eggs to order as well as hot chocolate for our kids. The woman working in the morning was very sweet with our kids, gave them a piece of candy and even found a box of colored pencils and coloring sheets for my 5-yr old son who was bored during breakfast. After we checked out we made a 5+ minute walk to a little park with a great little playground just a bit north and east (Spielplatz Zylberbergstraße).

Where do I begin? The boys arrived geared up for a weekend of debauchery very early doors Friday morning. It was mustang Callys stag do, myself, six sausage Martin, good looking Dan, my husband Tom, Starving Craig, Crazy arms Henge & present and future mike. So we arrived worried we couldn’t check in but they took us in open arms we joked about the upstairs fish market but this joke soon went off by the wayside. Local amenities ; * 24 hour shop across the road for beers & Doritos * very close to the sausage factory * very close to the 39euro sex shoppe * Kevin The rooms were perfect to accommodate a group of lads such as ourselves, the beds were comfy and there was room for so many activities. Couldn’t have asked for a better room. Mike did struggle building his tooth in your kettle but I don’t think this will be a regular request from guests in the future. Thanks for the memories PS If you find Cal’s head it was last seen rollin around the Reeperbahn. All the best. X
We stayed here in the middle of July. After a few days of looking for Hotels near the city centre but not wanting to pay a fortune to ensure we had a private bathroom (Trust me, it's near impossible... Feel free to search) I came accross the Stadthotel. I was a bit dubious to begin with as the Hotel is a good 1.5miles from the 'heart' of Hamburg. However..... After realising the nearest S1 station (Berliner Tor) was 5 minutes walk from the Hotel we were delighted with the location. The Hotel is easily missed but does have signage advertising it. The interior is very nice and appears freshly renovated. The check in was straight forward and friendly. The receptionist explained clearly the facilities (including a boxing ring and gym facilities on the 2nd floor). There is no 24hour manned reception but Hotel is secure via Card entry system and a contact info card given - we did not feel unsafe at any point. There is a small lift in the guest entrance and old fashioned floating concrete steps should you choose to climb to any of the 4 floors. There is a nice, fresh modern and contemporary look to the corridors and rooms. We stayed on the 3rd floor amd could see down in to the gym and accross the SBahn tracks and area. We got the Sun all day! The room was very nice and came with a fan which was needed due to the humidity! Little sweets greeted is on our pillows and tea/coffee facilities were provided. There was a fridge and safe and complimentary toiletries. Tv with lots of channels (news, sport etc) for those who like to spend their holiday watching tv.... Overall the Hotel was very good. The only interaction we had with staff was at check in and he was pleasant. We would definitely stay here again. If you do.. Make sure you remember Berliner Tor station is well serviced and dont be put off by the distance. It takes less than 5 minutes on the S1 to central station and services many other parts of the city!
The hotel is located in the new port city, right inside the Hamburg landmark concert hall. You can take the bus on the Elbe 72 directly to the hotel. There is a good French restaurant opposite, a North German-style kitchen and special beer in the concert hall. The rooms are reasonably furnished, the beds in the twin rooms are large enough, and if you are lucky, the scenery is very good. If you want to watch a show, just go out the hotel's revolving door and go to the entrance of the music hall. Even the storage of your jacket is eliminated.
Breakfast is more abundant than the average European hotel. Now you can order the scrambled eggs and send them to the table. The spinach and mushroom omelet we ordered is very delicious. The double bed is large enough to not have a separate bed for the child. There is no need to charge for children. In the business district, shopping is super convenient. Eat German salted pigs and walk for 10 minutes.
A brilliant find at the end of the Reeperbahn. Excellent location, but nice and quiet. Only a few minutes walk from public transport which services all parts of Hamburg. Exceptionally clean rooms with very good amenities. Rooms were modern and spacious. The service was brilliant and we couldn’t have been happier with the staff and how we were treated throughout our stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to visit Hamburg.
This hotel is essentially a bed & breakfast, but it is very well run, immaculately clean, and provides friendly service in a good location in the Blankenese neighborhood of Hamburg. Blankenese is in the far west of Hamburg, so this is not a downtown location near the major sights and attractions. The rooms are comfortably furnished and very quiet. The hotel offers an excellent breakfast in the on-site breakfast restaurant; the buffet contains a surprisingly wide range of breakfast items, and everything I tried was tasty and of high quality. The hotel is within easy walking distance of several restaurants, bars and cafes if one is searching for lunch or dinner options. The train station with direct access to downtown Hamburg is a 5-10 minutes walk away. One can also very easily walk from the hotel to the Elbe river, where there are additional restaurants and cafes directly on the river, plus of course virtually endless walking/hiking trails.
