The hotel is quiet, super for walks, shopping opportunities, the rhythm and some restaurants are walking away. The owner Arndt is supernice, everything went out completely uncomplicated, competent and friendly. We weren't going to have much about Christmas, so there was no breakfast service, but we were still allowed to use the kitchen and breakfast room, not of course, thank you very much. Since we booked several rooms for the family, it was of course a good way to sit together. The rooms are clean, everything you need. Price performance top.

We were on the way with our 9 months old baby and were very well cared. The check-in was quick, friendly and easy. The room was renovated and tastefully modernly furnished. It was in the double room enough room for our baby traveling bed. In the evening we were eating with friends in the restaurant. It was mega delicious and the service was great. Despite the current situation (Covid 19) the staff was very premature and we felt well. Breakfast was also very delicious. Also here the service was super! Concluded: Passing by friendly staff, delicious food and beautiful rooms.

This is at best an Ibis-equivalent hotel. The receptionist even called it a motel. The room is small and poorly equipped. There is no coffee-machine although there is a kettle. One of the cups still had the last person's coffee rim stain. There is no air-conditioning, no fans available and it is hot and airless. The window can be opened but only if you are prepared to leave the curtains open and be in full view of people visiting the Mcdonalds opposite. The road noise is not great either. The restaurant is closed, but I was offered a microwaved mini pizza! If you must stay in a Mercure in the area, go to the Mercure City Nord in Düsseldorf.

We booked this hotel at the last minute for 2 nights mid November. After reading some reviews, we asked for a room around the back, away from the road. That turned out to be unnecessary as the whole hotel is quite quiet due to quality double glazing and solid construction. Yes, it is under the flight path of Dusseldorf Airport, but that has a curfew from 11pm - 6am and most of the time the flights going overhead are landing (and therefore quieter). We wore earplugs anyway but we probably didn't need to. The view outside our room (#210) was sublime with yellow autumn leaves on all the trees and ground. There is a beautifull park out the back, with a walking trail for several kms. We found the room extremely spacious, with an excellent and supportive King Size Bed. There was so much room for our large suitcases, and the storage options with cupboards and shelving are thoughtfully designed. The large and bright bathroom has a really big bathtub! The hot water is fast and very hot, and the fittings are solid but tasteful. We found the branded bath towels to be super thick and comfy, great work! The bathroom has a good door, so we left the bathroom light on all night with just a sliver of light underneath to help us see our way in the dark. The checkin staff were helpful and patient with our German upon arrival. We would like to commend Herr Dievernich for his warm welcome and Frau Hartmann for her friendliness. The bus stop (Bus #751)is directly outside to get you to the local station called Hosel. We would like to commend this hotel for employing some more mature staff who we found to be warm and patient and seemed genuinely interested in us.

Having stayed for several days and nights at McDreams Essen, I can say our stay was very pleasant. We found the hotel and rooms were spotlessly clean and the staff were more than helpful. What we did miss was an electrical point in the basement where people that have disabilities can charge the batteries in their wheelchairs or mobility scooters. Other than that our stay was extremely pleasant and the location was central to all amenities including public transport. Thank for you courtesy and helping us in the time we spent in Essen. I stayed here for a month whilst working in Essen. Receptionist friendly helpful and spoke excellent English. I was upgraded to an executive room, which was dated but clean and spacious and included a fridge. I was thankful for the air conditioning as the weather was hot at the time of my stay but would have preferred a sheet instead of the thick quilt. Breakfast was the standard offering but a rip off at €21 - you get a far better and cheaper breakfast at similar hotels. There’s a bar and an evening menu but this wasn’t always open however when it was the barman was great to have a chat with and get some local knowledge. There’s power sockets by the bedsides and WiFi was good. Location is good being just a 5 min walk to the underwhelming and disappointing city centre. It’s also only a 5 min walk to the metro which offers great value and for a fee of €9, gets you anywhere, although this was during a summer promotion. As a resident you get access to a gym across the road. The house keeping was at times quite poor with surfaces not wiped down. Overall a convenient place to stay but in need of modernisation which I think is a possibility in the future.

Have spent more nights in premier inns that I can remember. Have used them in the UK for years. They're all pretty much the same (Zip and Hub aside of course) both of which I also like. The German offering is either aimed at a slightly higher niceness or are maybe just newer. Anyhoo, the rooms are nice. But. I've stayed at the Essen hotel before and the beds weren't great then and don't seem to have been replaced in the last year. The result is (my 2p) that the beds are too soft and when I sit on them, the springs bottom out and I can feel the base. It's not much better when trying to sleep. This is a bit weird as the ones in premier inns in the UK are excellent, to the point where I considered buying one of same type of mattresses/beds for home. This last weekend, the TV was Broken in the first room, so asked to move because the bed was rubbish. Bed also rubbish in second room. By the time I got to the third room I was too embarrassed to ask to move again but the bed thing isn't restricted to one room. Staff were good, the lady on reception was excellent even when facing an avalanche of customers as six pm approached. Overall, an average stay but the beds would mean I'll probably head to Dortmund and the Mercure next time.

Wow. What a trip that was to the Essen Spiel convention. And what an excellent hotel we have had the luck of booking a room into. Everything was top notch. We were given a room on the second floor, right across the elevator, in room 226. That was indeed super convenient, since for soundproofing, the windows were always shut, and I'm a smoker, so it made my outside trip to the smoking area easy. Everything in the room was where it should be. Plenty of sockets to plug our electronics in, a desk to put our convention stuff on and make our plans for the following day. Water pressure was spot on in the shower, all-in-one soap was naturally provided in a dispenser and filled daily. Room cleaning was done super meticulously in the morning and the cleaning people were nice and attentive when we happened to stumble upon them. All the staff we ran across were super nice and kind, even though we were always bugging them with annoying and trivial matters. The evening shift at the bar and reception really tried their best to satisfy our bothering demands. Hats off to them for putting up with us. I feel that we may have indeed tested their patience's limits. Despite all our best - or worst - but unintended in honesty - efforts to piss them off, they didn't even lose their smile. Great job, everyone! The cherry on top was the hotel's decision to open up a big room full of tables and chairs for the Spiel attendees to pass the night once the exhibition day was over. Really thoughtful and it's one of those small details that win people over. I'm looking forward to returning to the convention next year, and I'm sure I will be booking a room in this hotel alongside my plane and convention tickets. Keep it up, GHOTEL!

The hotel in general reflected what I expected. A great ”Business Hotel” with good prices and quality in the average. Excellent welcome with very nice and fast staff at check-in. Very large underground parking at a fair cost. Very spacious (super) room with cleaning in the average. Windows that cannot be opened, but are indeed clearly and roundly written in the description of the rooms, and bathroom with windows, which, although not opened, gave natural light. Common spaces I found a little lumber, with the corridors where the lights light on the passage. Breakfast with buffet I would say just enough. Practicely only sweet bread and marble, cornets and yoghurt with cereals. Restaurant I didn't understand if there was no or if it was not available because he was engaged in wedding dinner. For the type of stay (two nights per commitment in the area) the hotel would also have gone more than well if it had not been for the wedding dinners above. Beyond the breakfast room there is a kind of great ceremony hall that both nights hosted weddings. I am stupid about the movement that was being created in the nearby square of the hotel, people smoking, with a walk and come on the front of the reception, but the most sad thing was the incivility of people. In the morning from the entrance of the underground parking to the entrance doors, it was a tape of cigarette mozzicons with glasses thrown into the flowerhouses and even abandoned shoes. I think that such events should be avoided or better managed.

We stayed here for a weekend. Sadly for us the first thing that greeted us was a 30€ early check in charge. We arrived around 12.30 so I would hardly call it early. We inquired why there was a charge and they said that was there policy (which I couldnt find). It was even more lf a slap on the face when we discovered the room was ready and the hotel was mostly empty ! It just comes across like you want to rob your customers ! The rooms are without any wardrobes either which is another detraction. On the plus side breakfast was cheap around 11€, central location, spacious room with small balcony. Fortunately I only stayed 1 night in this ”hotel”. Charm 0, quality 0, ambience 0, breakfast at hostel level, pluspoint were the parking places directly at the house. Incomprehensible how this house can remain competitive, stay with breakfast just below €100, very sporty for the ”price/performance ratio”. My room was designed to the main street, You could only sleep with closed windows because of road traffic. Concluded: here it has been for years, if not for decades, there have been no more investments. Plus: good mattress, this must be said fairly.

The front desk was closed at 22 o'clock. I didn't see this information on Trip.com. When I waited, the person in charge of the hotel had already driven and prepared to leave. I saw that we were in a hurry and came out. I counted us. Fortunately, it was a success in the back. The room is small, but the bed and TV are quite big, opposite is a student apartment, they can see clearly in the room, so it is recommended to pull the curtains. The biggest disadvantage is that the sound insulation of the door is very poor. It is almost the same as there is no door. The door of the next room is opened and closed, and even the sound of the TV and alarm clock is clear. The sound of the cleaning person in the corridor in the morning is like directly in my room. It’s scary. The pillow is very flat, very uncomfortable, the bed is OK, the shower space is a bit small, the taller people should be more aggrieved The service was good when checking out (maybe because I changed someone)

A hotel directly in the vicinity of the station. Short paths to the city. Simple but useful equipment. Very clean. Also to the bathroom no negative comments. Breakfast, in a nice room, was very sufficient. Wurst/Cheese, salad, yoghurt, bread, bread, rice/egg, sauce, beans, marmelade, butter, coffee machine, tea, juices. I found this very varied with a large selection. The staff at the reception at check-in very nice and friendly. The lady in the breakfast service is very eager. Washing tables, cleaning wallet, everything quiet and fast. Was just one night here. When I have to do there again I'll pick this hotel again.
