If you go to Graz, this is the place. This unusual & cozy hotel offers many enjoyable surprises. The hotel is in the old town, located just below the Graz castle and the famous clock tower. The hotel is near the river that flows through the old town. The hotel lobby consists of several charming spaces and it is full of contemporary art - around 400 works! It was lovely to work around the hotel and discover yet another work around the corner. The garden is winding up to the hill and there are lots of beautiful hiding places you can sit and read your book. Even a small swimming pool is located on the hillside. The old town & the pedestrian zone starts from the hotel steps. We came by our own car to the hotel and it was taken to the parking hall opposite and it was again waiting for us once leaving. The staff was excellent. The breakfast room was spacious (great furnitures e.g. from Kartell and arts) and the breakfast was full of choices. We had an exceptionally big and beautiful room with wooden floors, a great bed and a white marble bathroom - and art! We enjoyed walking up to the castle (a breath taking view over the red rooftops of Graz) and over the river to a lively area where the modern art museum is located (a museum shop worth of visiting). This lively town has lots of restaurants, small shops, cafes, market places & art galleries everywhere.

We recently visited Graz as our Daughter did a semester exchange in her final year of Law School. We stayed the the Hotel Mariahilf in room 351 which was a Suite (large). The Hotel was great with respect to location...only 3 stops to the Main Train Station. The Hotel has an old school feel and our room felt like we were in the attic of an old farmhouse...but in a good way. Some reviews mentioned that the floors were creaky and noisy..it didn't bother us and to me, it just added to the experience. There was no street noise in our suite and was very quite The included breakfast had some great options and the service was friendly and efficient. I'm a Lifetime Titanium with Marriott and have stayed in many hotel rooms (some luxury) and this was a clean hotel and a great experience for my wife and I

I arrived earlier than check in and my room was ready. I'd reserved a superior room, with view. To be honest, I wasn't impressed with the 'view'. There were a couple of bee hives as my immediate view and further away was a shed with bins. I guess every room has a window and therefore a view! I requested another room, as I was disappointed with the superior room and its view. The next room was on the fourth floor, so the view was better, but I still got to see the laundry delivery etc. The rooms are clean, but considering that it's a new hotel, the flooring is already chipped and scratched. There is no character to the rooms. Modern and bare. One of the things that didn't sit right with me and something that I haven't faced in a four star hotel before, was that I was expected to give my credit card over on arrival and not only did they book the cost of the room, they booked a further €25 per day! I was told that it was like a deposit or for car parking! Really? I arrived by train! The hotel is situated in a good location. Its not to far from the most important sites. Breakfast was excellent! Exactly what I would expect from a four star hotel. Plenty of choice for everyone. Due to Covid restrictions, the mini bar was empty and the hospitality tray had been removed. It is possible to receive those on request. One evening, I returned to my room, to find that the cleaning crew had cleaned my room and left both windows wide open! It was freezing cold! I did report that to reception, but they were also at a loss as to why that had been done. The staff at reception were very helpful.

I used to be an accord gold member and don’t know at what point I moved down. In any case I’ve always usually stayed at Novotel. We decided to stay at Mercure as opposed to NH in the city centre as this hotel was closer to the chess tournament venue. However I was most disappointed with the housekeeping at this hotel. The room was never clean! They never did anything the same way . In our 7 nights stay, water was never replenished the same way. The composition of the water bottles was based on some whim and fancy. Food crumbs on the floor remained on it. Even food crumbs on the bedside table remained as is. Tea bags were not refilled. I was honestly really appalled with the whole service issue. I specifically went down to the front desk and informed them that we want to have water without gas in our rooms. But nothing was done about it. One afternoon, I requested the front desk to get our rooms cleaned in the afternoon. When we returned it wasn’t done so. Housekeeping just randomly opens the room door; doesn’t speak a word of English and have a condescending attitude on top of it. Breakfast was the usual. Eggs, bread and cereal for vegetarians. No bake beans. Nothing different in the 7 day stay again. But staff at restaurant down are courteous. Bus stop very close to this hotel. 2 supermarkets right next to it as well, so good on location. Very close to the city Center and the island of mur. But not a place I’d recommend if on a holiday. More for business kind of stay.

Don’t judge this modern hotel by its exterior, which imo isn’t that attractive; it’s interior, however is sleek and impressive. The location is very good, close to a city centre market square with lots of restaurants and bars. Rooms are airy and bright, bathrooms smart and well designed. Beds are comfortable with high quality linen. The hotel’s rooms and corridors are decorated with colourful and decorative contemporary art. The staff are well trained and helpful. Prices we thought were pretty reasonable and to top it all off, when we checked out our three sons each received RedBull Aston Martin baseball caps signed by a racing driver. We will in future always stay there.

I gave 5 stars because the hotel checks off some important criteria, with flying colors: Location, Price, Cleanliness, Service. Our room and bathroom were big, clean and comfortable. Even though it faced the street, there was really no noise. Short walk to the Hauptplatz. The reservation process, check-in and check-out were smooth and easy, staff polite and efficient. I would definitely stay there again.

The Parkhotel Graz, situated in a premier location ten minutes walk from its centre, combines tradition with quality, from the monogrammed china to the cordon bleu service. The hotel caters for the discerning client or couple. In fact the hotel’s name on taxi receipts is the ‘Romantik Parkhotel’. One is welcomed by the concierge and sometimes later, if available, by the owner himself, Mr Florian. The glass lift whisks one up to one’s room allowing views of the outside courtyard, its rose garden, bubbling fountain and pergola entwined in summer with fragrant blossom, ideal for the evening or a mid-morning glass of Sekt, the Austrian champagne. The bedrooms, or suites, are perfect, each with their own unique character, a sophisticated design reflecting the splendour of the early 20th century. Inside the hotel it is calm and tranquil assisted by the triple glazing and heavy fabrics in the room. Though lunch is available, we only had dinner, served in the Florian Restaurant. The menu is traditional Austrian cuisine incorporating a modernistic culinary image. Regional produce is fused into the specialities for starters, main course and dessert. Try the plumstrudel with ice cream and vanilla custard! Don’t forget to use the hotel’s pool or the two types of sauna, fitness room, or make use of Parkhotel Kosmetik, putting your wellbeing in the very capable hands of the qualified cosmetician Liliya Florian.

We stayed there for a few days from the 22nd to 26th of June. The hotel was great, perfect location and fantastic family staff. We required special assistance as my partner is in a wheelchair. Michael, was extremely helpful from the moment we called to inquire about the rooms, and organised assisted travel arrangements for us. Can’t say enough about how friendly and helpful the staff were! We will definitely come back here!!!!

I was in doubt if giving this hotel 4 points, but I believe 3 is right measure. Not quite suitable for those coming by the car - if you come to the street behind it either you have to pay for a parking or hope this 20-30 minutes you'll go unnoticed. If you go straight to the garage they have an agreement with (garage of Leiner across the street) you'll have to carry your luggage to the hotel. It is not a long way but includes some stairs. Not a big deal, though, unless you really have a lot of heavy luggage. Check in was somewhat clumsy and lady at the reception was not really fluent in English, but we managed to overcome all language problems easily. Few more stairs to get to the elevator. Area around the elevator seems to be somewhat neglected in respect of the cleaning and looks like a staircase in building with apartments, not as one in the hotel. Room was large and bathroom too. Cleanliness of the room was commendable. Double bed was fine but sleeping comfort would be better with better mattress. large balcony with coffee table and two chairs and ashtray would make smokers happy, hotel itself however is smoke free. bathroom is kind of strange, huge space but very little staff inside to fill in that space, however there is everything you need. Breakfast was fine, choice of bread, coffees from the machine, juisec from the machine, salami, cheese, butter, jams, cereals, yoghurt, fruits, you can boil an egg or two on your own. Breakfast room is however obviously designed to have a fast turnover of those coming to have a breakfast there. very close to the hotel there is a main railway station of Graz, few cafes, supermarket convenience stores. City center would be some 15 minutes walk, Citypark shopping center some 20-25 minutes walk. Trams passing just under the windows of one side of hotel are not so noise, however during the night, especially with opened windows or balcony doors you'll surely hear them. All in all the hotel i would not mind coming back again, however I find their price higher than it should be.

Have visited Graz for more than 50 years with family from here, but now longer the case, so this is the first time in Graz staying in a hotel. This hotel was picked for all round convenience with business to tidy up, friends and business meetings all in a week. The location could not be better opposite the train station. The trains are good from the airport usually 2 an hour but on Saturdays less frequent. Situated here there are tram and bus stops close by which take you in a variety of areas. The hotel is modern and has a roomy reception except when coach tours come in. Rooms are bright and well equipped. In our double room my wife and I had tea and coffee facilities, but it transpired that a similar room booked from my sister did not have this, and sadly we only found out at the end of the stay. The room was really quite warm, though there is A/C but this is noisey. We slept with the windows open but the outside noise 4 floors up was also disturbing. This would be great in winter but no so good in autumn when weather can be warm. Twice we were disappointed to have to leave notes for housekeeping as there was no soap in the dispenser for the shower, and once for the non replenishment of tea and coffee as well as a used cup with tea bag still in left when we returned at the end of the day. Breakfast is served during a long period from 6.30 onward. There is plenty of room and a good selection of items to choose from, but if there is a group in then this will be busy. Boiled eggs were hit and miss. We were told they were 5 min eggs but we had two occasions when they were not cooked properly. Summing up, a good place to stay for transport, but let down a little by patchy room service, and facilities. Be sure to check when you arrive, that you have what you should have.

I was more than happy with the quality of my stay in this charming hotel in the heart of beautiful Graz, but I certainly had some issues with some rather unprofessional reception staf. First of all, the lady helping us with the check-in never asked for any ID to confirm that I was the one who booked and paid for the weekend-long stay at Das Weitzer. Such a flaw in the security system was a bit odd to me. However, the reason I did not the reception was the rude behaviour by their receptionist Katharina who seemed to be very unprofessional and rude to both my wife and me. I do not want to question this person's qualifications or intentions, but the fact was that she behaved as if we were some beggars from the street. If such people/behaviour remains at this otherwise lovely hotel, we probably won't be coming back there next time we visit Graz. As for the room 246 and the breakfast buffet - I can only highly recommend these!

We booked this at short notice and several things made the stay a comfortable one: 1. The manager when we signed in was friendly and helpful, offering a choice of room with a view or a more quiet one. 2. The staff in the breakfast room were friendly and helpful - their smiles make all the difference. 3. The room was comfortable and functioned correctly - a couple of minor things were attended to by the staff well within their 15-minute service deadline. In all, a carefree stay meant we enjoyed our visit to Graz

This is a very modern, clean hotel. It does not have much character but is brilliant for a short stay. Very friendly staff especially a young lady on reception ( who was from romania) but spoke perfect english and was extremely helpful each time we spoke to her. The room has everything you need and is a decent size and comfortable. The breakfast selection was vast and was kept topped up by a couple of very diligent staff. The location is a little out of the centre but actually it is a great location as the bus stops just outside and it is a 20mins ride in the centre which was very pleasant, and it is also quite close to the main motorway but far enough away to not be affected by it. There are eateries around the close vicinity (inc Macs if you need fast food). Limited street parking but there was also an underground hotel car park at a cost. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again if in the area.
