I recently stayed at this beautiful historical hotel, on a mixture of business and pleasure. With all the recent happenings with the coronavirus, it was instantly apparent that this hotel took the health and hygiene of its guests and staff very seriously, with signs and sanitizers and cleaning in constant operation in various parts of the hotel. Stayed in the Wensum, very nice and comfortable. Only gripe was it was a little dark and traffic noise from outside was quite audible. We have been travelling worldwide, including Japan Asia etc, and must say this was one of the nicest, if brief, stays in a hotel we have had. The young man who checked us in was very polite, and the chap who was lone working after midnight was very pleasant when letting us back into the hotel after we went for a night stroll. I hope to return for longer next time.

Located right in the heart of the city - on a busy road and over and opposite nightclubs, it wasn't easy to sleep without ear plugs. With them it still didn't go well. It is a small hotel, with the result that the check in desk was often not staffed. This sounds negative; it worked out fine for me. The staff's attitude was excellent. But don't expect much for your money!

Walking distance from all Norwich attractions and Station. Several little thing let this hotel down, only 2 teabags in our room each day ,rooms clean and comfortable but no storage or hanging space in our Business Room for which you pay a slight premium. although the Quiet floor as it was weekend was at times noisy. Our room faced the inner courtyard and was quite dark. On the plus side the staff were efficient and very helpful and friendly, they were a credit to the company. The breakfast was good quality but a little lacking in choice, although there was plenty of it. There is no parking on site but a multi-storey car park is just across the street ,At a price.! Although we did not use it there is a bar and basic food on offer at a sensible price , but a walk into the City could offer something more exciting. I would certainly stay here again, but it could be better with a little more of an offering

I was worried after reading reviews but shouldn't have been. Firstly, the location is spot on. Our room was a superior at the front of the building so overlooked the river. We had an email before arrival telling us that they have 2 buildings so we knew that being in their other hotel (literally round the corner) may be a possibility. The man who sorted us out was kind and helpful. Showed us all we needed to know and sorted out our £5 permit which we booked in advance. The room was big enough, towels and toiletries provided and also tea/coffee making facilities. Overall a great little stay and will happily use again.

Great little hotel in an exceptional location and fantastic value for money. Was given a very friendly welcome and keys to an economy room in the annexe, another building a couple of hundred yards away. Room was small but functional, with basic facilities. Would definitely stay again if in central Norwich for the night. Perfect if visiting by train too, as extremely close to the station.

After having three holidays cancelled due to Covid decided to head south to avoid Boris bans up north. Chose Norwich after a short visit a while ago. Hotel was superbly situated with ample parking and a friendly welcome on arrival, all COVID restrictions in place but managed very well. We initially had booked two nights but extended to the third. The room was typical premier inn clean, spacious and a decent bathroom, there was no room cleaning available unless specially requested due to the pandemic. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent despite it having to be table service and the choice was all still available, we also ate twice in the restaurant and the food along with the service was excellent and good value. The city centre shopping is a ten minute walk away along with several decent bars, one mention for the pub across the road from the inn ( the complete angler) which was both lovely and friendly

This is a small inn. I think it has five bedroomms. I was in a double on the ground floor. It is situated not far from the bar but there is excellent soundproofing. I was there for long weekend but even with a karaoke evening in progress on Saturday I heard virtually no sound. The accommodation is comfortable. There are a few helpful touches, namely, an upright fan, a fridge and a safe deposit. The shower is very effective. The room is clean and was freshener up each morning of my 4 day stay. Breakfast was very good. All juices are kept in a small breakfast table fridge. Staff are pleasant and helpful. The only downside is the location. Although close to town, it is a stiff climb from the town. The walk down to town is however very pleasant.

Nice hotel with lovely staff. Rooms clean and bright. Bathroom clean and shower good. Nice tea and coffee morning tray with lovely biscuits. Breakfast a bit lacking, the full english was good and up to standard. The Continental was disappointing with packaged coissants, not freshly baked, served on a saucer! No yoghurt only small selection of fruit. Overall I would stay again - very convenient for the station and the town centre.

I stayed in the Namaste Palace Hotel on a trip visiting UEA. I was pleasantly surprised by the rooms. Having read the reviews on Booking.com after booking my stay I have to say I was rather worried and had prepared for sleeping in my car! Whilst this was a lovely hostel I would not go as far to call it a hotel. The shared bathrooms are spacious and clean, and the bedroom was as well. A lot of cupboard space if you are staying longer however I would not recommend as you may end up with back issues due to the bed being no more than a bit of foam cut to size! My request for a twin bed was not accommodated and we ended up with a VERY small double. As I was with a friend it ended up being alright as we didn’t sleep much anyway due to the noise in the corridor all night long! Whilst we did not get in to the hostel until very late, there were still people walking around at 4 in the morning and the walls are incredibly thin so we could hear EVERYTHING our neighbours were doing! The parking stated whilst booking is a pay and display on the other side of the road. It was relatively cheap (from 5pm to 9am cost £5) and it was very easy to use. Overall I had a pleasant experience, it was clean and did the job for one night.

Stayed here in September 2020- cheap hotel for work , beds was fairly comfy... tv in the room is absolutely tiny, my tablet is the same size .. physically couldn’t watch it! Shower was rubbish , took ages to warm up ! The bar and restaurant are currently not open which we didn’t know until we arrived, although in a decent location ... Staff are all friendly ... ok for if your working away and need just a bed.but wouldn’t stay again. The room was always hot also , and it’s quite noisy outside on the nights I found!

First weekend break here for about five years-we were here for my wife's aunt 90th -but we were reassured by standards of friendly helpful professional service were still evident. familiar faces of Shelley Miller unbelievably in residence for a silver jubilee plus great help with the in-house wifi from Barry and friendly disposition of Amelia plus all the staff generally combined to ensure a great stay in one of the few weekends when the weather was halfway tolerable.Breakfasts were lively and well catered and attended but the dining room was not well attended on either Saturday or Sunday evening which was a shame given the wide choice and flexible menu arrangements given to us on half board terms;Diane on Friday was a delight as a server and made sure our meal and experience went very well. Our room 12 was well appointed at the back very quiet and had the great advantage of a wet room shower which was much appreciated by my wife still recovering from a badly broken wrist. We need to return in the summer.

Stayed here as a family stop over at the weekend at the start of the Covid 19 crisis. The hotel was very quiet and the staff were clearly trying their best in difficulty circumstances. The receptionist who met us on arrival was excellent; friendly, professional, helpful, and a credit to the hotel. The restaurant and bar was very quiet throughout our stay and the same level of high quality service wasn’t replicated but was satisfactory. We used the pool facilities which were reasonable. The changing rooms could have been cleaner but it was the end of the day when we visited. We ate in the restaurant in the evening, largely due to convenience but also as the kids ate free. The food was ok, but overpriced if the kids weren’t eating. In reality there is no way I would pay those prices if the kids weren’t eating free, but when doing so it balances itself out in the end. We contacted the hotel at the point of booking (the day of stay!) to book connecting rooms which were provided. This obviously works well with two kids and were located on a ground floor

This was booked for me and recommended! The staff were friendly and helpful ,restaurant good was 8/10 good wine too ! I paid £164 for B&B no way was it worth this amount rooms and decor a little worst for wear for this price !! I travel a lot all over the world and at the moment with the corona virus I’m like most people a little bit more critical maybe!! One thing that freaked me out is that I had to get house keeping to clean the toilet and worst of all hairs in my bed , they sorted it immediately & of course with cleaning & new bedding & very apologetic, I just think at this price I was disappointed and with hygiene what we expect today it wasn’t a nice experience.

We surprised our 11 year-old football-mad son with a room over looking the pitch and he loved it (well we all did really). The room was warm, quiet and comfortable. Staff were pleasant and welcoming. Covid arrangements were clear and adequate. Ate dinner in the restaurant, good food and pleasant staff (despite being run off their feet). Breakfast was well organised, so much single-use plastic to individually wrap items but it is hygienic. Cooked food was served by staff and good standard. Easily walkable into town along the river. Retail park across the road - great Nike outlet (again popular with the 11-year-old).

My husband and I were visiting Norwich and chose The George Hotel to stay in. We arrived on the Friday and our room was charming. However the real reason this Hotel is so special, is the staff. The people who work for the Hotel should be so proud of themselves, you have made our stay so memorable. We had a couple of evenings just sitting in the bar before bed and the staff, even though they had lots to do, chatted and joked with us. Alistair, Ash, Donna and Sally were so funny together, they clearly have a lovely working relationship that made us giggle along with them. The lovely smiling welcome girls and breakfast waiting staff literally couldn't do enough for us. Our breakfast was delicious, despite the fact that the staff have so much more to do at the moment. Now, I know that things have to be done a bit differently today and it's one of the reasons deciding to go away is tricky, but this Hotel has made such efforts to make everyone feel as safe as they can, without losing the comfort and atmosphere. Such a difficult thing to accomplish, so credit where it is due, I tip my hat to you and say "Bravo, you have done a wonderful job, keep up the hard work and David and I very much look forward to returning ".

My son and I stayed in the family room and it was perfect. A very large comfortable room with fabulous four poster bed, another large single bed, sofa, large internet tv, and large en suite. Great quality tea & coffee facilities with Galaxy hot chocolate & Yorkshire Tea bags, lovely biscuits & bottled water all complimentary. The toiletries in the bathroom were of a high standard and the towels were high quality and spotless. The breakfast was superb, a good choice, cooked to order and very well presented. Excellent choice of continental breakfasts too. This charming guest house is ideally suited for exploring beautiful Norwich and a short walk from University of East Anglia. Our hosts were very friendly, informative about the local area, and very kindly allowed my son to pop back and change for an interview. I highly recommend this accommodation, it was spotlessly clean, easy to find in an ideal location for the city, and everything you could want had been considered. Fresh milk as you arrive for a much needed cup of tea was very welcome. If my son gets in at uni, I will be stay at Arrandale every time I visit!

I was lucky enough to stay in your Beechnut Summerhouse Suite. We arrived late afternoon and was greeted by your fluffy cat and a warm welcome from the gentleman on reception, as soon as I saw the cat I knew I this was my type of hotel. Check in went smoothly and we were shown to our suite and offered a glass of fizz after been shown round. We were blown away, the suite was perfect. Well laid out, comfortable and pure luxury. We didn’t use the locally sourced paper box but this was a lovely extra touch. The wellies were also a fantastic idea, we used them while walking around the grounds while we still had the light. Dinner was wonderful. The food was presented well and cooked to perfection. Portions were a perfect size and I was able to eat all 3 courses (my favourite was the pudding, poached pear was simply wow and I’m not a pudding person!) The staff were friendly and polite. After our meal we wanted a drink but the bar was full so took advantage of relaxing in the lounge. We slept well, the bed was massive and very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, a wide choice of food and juices. We both had a couple pastries and my hubby also had the full English. I’ve never seen such a well presented breakfast, he said it also was one of the best breakfasts he has eaten. Whenever we saw a member of staff we were greeted with a smile, everyone seemed so happy and eager to help. My only disappointment was that the treatment room was fully booked, if you want a treatment make sure to book in advance. I really hope I get the opportunity to visit again.
