We absolutely loved this guesthouse in Venice! Upon arrival, our host remotely buzzed us into the building, so that we could wait for him in the common area, beautifully appointed, with a large table laden with drinks, savories and sweets at all times, a shared kitchen, lounge area, and a small balcony overlooking a canal. Within 10 minutes, Maurizio arrived to show us to our room. Wow! The top-floor room was even prettier than the pictures we'd seen online -- a comfortable bedroom, dressing area(s!), and a large bathroom. As a couple, we felt like we had room to "settle in"; this would be perfect for a family with small children, as one room we did not even use en route to our bathroom. Our favorite part of the guesthouse is its rooftop terrace, which afforded 360-degree views of Venice. We enjoyed our morning breakfast (Nespresso pods and yogurt from the shared kitchen!), as well as our evening prosecco (we were given a bottle upon arrival). The location is wonderful, an easy 5-minute walk from the Rialto market vaporetto stop, and just a few minutes walk from the Rialto Bridge. We absolutely loved our stay here, and hope to return one day. Meanwhile, we highly recommend Finestra sulle Beccarie.

Location, location, location. Right next to the Rialto Mercato vaporetto stop and fruit and fish markets. As I write this we have just returned to the apartment having stepped outside to be met with a thunderstorm. It’s in such a convenient location, close to the Rialto Bridge, with shops, restaurants etc etc literally outside the door. So easy to pop back to dump stuff or change clothes or have a reviving coffee. This is our second time staying here and this time we are on the 4th floor (there is a lift) with a very good view out of the dining area windows of the roofs and the terrace on the top of the Tadeschi store (the view from this terrace which is about 5 mins away is worth it). We have a comfortable king size bed with en-suite shower room (this did get a bit pongy after rain but you are in Venice after all), wardrobes and tv with a separate kitchen/dining area. There is another small bedroom also with an en-suite shower room. No lounge. The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher frig and washing machine as well as a four ring hob, microwave, toaster, coffee machine and kettle as well as cooking utensils and crockery. A couple of dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid are provided. (There is an extra charge for cleaning at the end of your stay so that seems to mean maid service is limited. We only saw her once in 5 days.) Mostly for breakfast we buy beautiful fresh bread from the shop close by and there is a excellent supermarket close to the Rialto vaporetto stop for local cheeses and cold meats. There is also an excellent take away or eat in pizza place 3minutes away ( try their Pinot Grigio, it’s good, and the girl serving very friendly). Other Restaurants and bars are on the doorstep as well as the fruit and fish market right outside. Excellent choice of accommodation to feel as though you are in the heart of Venice and experiencing local life.

Just recently stayed at the Le Villeggiatura a second time in the past 5 years, the most recent in October 2019. We love it at this Bed and Breakfast, the breakfast is fabulous, the rooms and bathrooms are very large for Venice and the bed is comfy. The location is really what knocks it out of the park because you are right around the corner from the Rialto fish market and bridge - so steps from landmarks, but on a quite and quaint street. Would highly recommend to anyone!

We booked this hotel for a 4 night romantic get-away, and they offered us a good deal for such a central location. Overall the hotel was quite nice, the room was a little small but we did just go for a standard so we didn't expect it to be massive. The room had a couple of flaws, like cracks in the stone floor and quite hard bedding, and the hotel was down a bit of an ally way so it was a bit difficult to find at first, but overall it was a nice stay. I will say however that the staff did not seem to be around much; we arrived at about 8pm and our key was just on the desk with a piece of paper with instructions on it, and we checked in properly the next morning. We also had an early morning flight at the end of our holiday so we had to check out the night before as the reception was not going to be open until 8am, and we had to check out before the desk closed at 4pm. However, it was nice how much they relied on the honesty of their guests and we did always get our room made-up when asked and the breakfast and dinner staff were very friendly. The best part was that its location was very good, only a 5 min walk to the Rialto bridge if that, with two vaporetto stops in close proximity where we could get to St Marks and the Piazzale Roma very easily. There were also lots of restaurants and shops in the area so at night it was a lovely atmosphere. The restaurant downstairs was quite fancy with classic Venician dishes, and breakfast was nice too. Overall, if you are looking for somewhere reasonably priced to stay for a sight-seeing weekend, with access to many amenities, I would recommend it.

We were two retired couples (brother/sister and spouses) on a three week tour of Europe. PG (Pensione Guerrato) had been recommended by Rick Steve's and one of his tour guides. We emailed Roberto and he, and his daughter, were so helpful in answering our questions about rooms, location and directions. We arrived by train from Florence and they outlined exactly what we needed to do to get a water taxi from the station to a stop close by PG. Just as they recommended, we stepped a half block out of the train station and there was the water taxi stop. We purchased tickets, and rolled our suitcase right onto the dock and into the boat. In about 15 minutes we were dropped off at a docking point and then within a walk of about 2 blocks, there we were! Venice and the area PG is located in is truly fascinating. Everything is within walking distance (St. Mark's Square, Rialto Bridge, shopping, and restaurants). Roberto had several restaurant recommendations that were spot on. When we got ready to leave, we needed a way to get to the airport. Roberto arranged a private water taxi (cabin cruiser) that picked us up right near the hotel and delivered us out to the airport in about 45 minutes... and the ride in the cabin cruiser was wonderful. Since we were two couples, Roberto suggested the Scudi suite and it was wonderful!! Two bedrooms, two full sized bathrooms (with great showers) and even a small kitchen with a refrigerator where we could store perishable food/drinks. It even contained a small washer/dryer. The Scudi suite was modern with very nice amenities and open areas perfect for a small group or family or several couples. Each morning a very nice breakfast is served next to the lobby ... it was just what you need to start your day. When you walked out the front door, you were but a couple of short blocks to the Rialto Market ... what a place! Vendors set up in early morning and go until about lunch time ... the fresh fish market was a site to see ... incredible! Fresh vegetables, baked goods and so much more. We loved the fact that you could walk to anything; there were bridges over waterways, meandering alley ways, main thoroughfares, and of course, gondolas and motor boats. Can't say enough about the hospitality and help extended to us. This was an excellent stay and would highly recommend PG without any hesitation. Thank you Roberto and family/team!

We were a little worried as we realised we might have a shared bathroom and had read some sad reviews about this place before coming - we should not have worried as this little guest house was quaint and lovely! The owner of the B&B was wonderful and made us feel so welcome upon arrival. Our flight was delayed and so we were much later than anticipated. The owner welcomed us in perfect English, gave us advice about where to eat as it was late and some local advice about staying safe in Venice and avoiding "pickpocketers." He then switched into French and did the same for another couple arriving behind us - very impressive and knowledgable. The only downside was paying a late check-in fee but we'd been told about this before. We had a room with a private bathroom which I would recommend unless you don't mind sharing with others. The room itself was clean and very spacious, it had everything you could want for basing yourself in a central location. It wasn't modern decor but it did not matter to us/ There was shared balcony which we had dinner on one night and a lovely dining area to be shared by guests. The host gave us use of tea and coffee making facilities and the fridge which was appreciated. The shower was lovely and warm and we had use of the best hairdryer I've ever had away from home! The shower head could be fixed to the wall to make it easier for guests! The B&B was right by the canal (30 seconds) and only a 3-5 minute walk from the famous Rialto Bridge so a super location. The host here did really make our stay in Venice and we would recommend to anyone coming to Venice to stay here.

Absolutely in love with this Hotel. perfect loaction, the rooms are amazing and individual. We had 2 different rooms, one with Canal Grande view which was right off the Breakfast room, but it wasnt noisy at all as the room had 2 doors to keep noise out. Breakfast is split into time slots (due to Covid) and the woman who was organising it all by herself deserves a medal, she was amazing and fast and deserved some help to be honest. Reception was helpful with everything and speedy at replying to emails prior our stay. I would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat, absolutely amazing.

My husband and i enjoyed a 3 day trip away from the kids. We booked the junior suite as i was tempted by the terrace overlooking the canal. That was lovely but in November not of any real use. I would describe the room as very fawlty towers but in an amusing way. Once you eventually found it, which we couldn't one night and wandered round in circles for about half an hour. The room was very venetian in style. The spa bath would be great if you were 3 foot tall otherwise completely useless. Most of the furniture was broken, the tv was useless and the curtains were all hanging off. However, the good points, it was close to all the places you wanted to be. The shower was good and the cleaner was very very good. Bed made and clean towels as soon as we went out. We had breakfast once at bella venencia and to be honest it was pretty grim so give that a miss ans find one of the many fantastic cafes. The bed was comfy and the safe was free. We paid 255 for 3 nights for a massive room. I spent alot of time looking out of the window watching the gondolas go by. A truly unforgettable experience. Book the junior suite, accept the flaws and have a fantastic time. Another tip is the streets flood every morning so pack your wellies in winter 😀 Feel free to ask me any questions.

I like it very much and I have recommended it to my friends. The outside of the hotel is very well-maintained, the facilities are very good, there is a very good smell in the air, the service staff is very warm, the breakfast is simple, but it is very particular, and finally eat hot bread. The palatial feel of the room decoration. The wall covering of the full house. Specially designed for Italian decoration. The single room that was occupied on the National Day, more than 800, the price is good. I also came across a wedding photo with a good mood.

We had an amazing stay at the Santa Croce Bouitique hotel! The hotel is right in the middle of Venice, but slightly off the beaten track, so you are steps away from all the highlights yet not in the middle of the tourist crowds, and also has a wonderful private courtyard where you can relax after a busy day of sightseeing. It is a 6 minute walk from the airport water taxi and only 3 minutes from a vaporetto water bus stop (Canal Grande route). These are, of course, exceptional times, and the staff was excellent in working with us as our travel dates changed due to changing corona rules in Europe (thank you Luca!). The hotel also has taken thorough Covid safety and hygiene measures. throughout the property. The breakfast buffet had been replaced with an a-la-care -service that was at least as plentiful. Guests were asked to indicate their preferred breakfast time the evening before, to ensure that social distancing rules in the restaurant were adhered to. Our room was fantastic (the website pictures are accurate), the bathroom appeared to be brand new and also featured a steam bath. The staff did everything to make our stay perfect, including special sight seeing tips from the Manager Elisabetta. To the whole Santa Croce team, thank you for making this a perfect stay. We look forward to being back!

My work gives me the opportunity to visit hotels all over the world, and I am often staying in 4 or 5 stars business, executive or anyhow luxury hotel. I have seen spots in all Europe that you would not even guess, but this one, this one takes the cake. There is only one word to describe this hotel, and that is: perfect. Location, tranquillity, freedom, cleanness, hospitality, friendliness, relax, good music, top notch breakfast. Name it, they have it. Classy, but not pretentious. Elegant, but not intimidating, close to the station, but not in the middle of the most chaotic street. It’s a pain to leave. Would suggest this hotel a millions of times, and I repeat, I have stayed in the best of London, Cannes, Hamburg... it does not matter. This is where I would stay if I had to go back to Venice. Honestly, this is where I will stay every time I have to go back to Venice, and that’s it. The service is great, the people have an outstanding sense of professionalism and hospitality, the sestiere is beautifully suspended in time. Breakfast is rich and the quality is high. There’s for sure a lot of awesomeness in Venice, and all was worth, but this was like being a guest at a noble house in the Serenissima time. So priceless. 5 stars for everything

We loved the hotel Mezzo Pozzo. Don't be put off by it's 2 stars; we thought it deserved three! The hotel is in an old Venetian Palace so very oldy worldy, but oh so charming. Matteo on the front desk was lovely and gave us all the info we needed during out stay. The triple room we booked was spacious with ensuite bathroom, great A/C and wifi. Old fashioned deco but perfect at the same time. An amazing breakfast was served in our room each morning. Excellent contintental breakfast with tea or coffee or hot chocolate, orange juice, yoghurts, croissants, breads, biscottes, jam and spreads, a really generous selection. The hotel is perfectly located near th Ca d'Oro vaporetto stop, 5 mins on foot to Rialto Bridge and 10/15 mins on foot to St Mark's square. It's in a tiny narrow street so very quiet but just off the bustling Strada Nova. It couldn't have been in a better spot!

My boyfriend and I stayed for 5 nights in September after originally booking our trip for May which was postponed due to COVID! Valentina couldn't have been more accommodating when rearranging our trip at short notice. The hotel is in a fantastic location, only 5 mins from Rialto Bridge and St Marks Square! Breakfast was included and was a great way to start to the day. It consisted of fresh croissants, bread and jam for toast, kiwi, eggs, yoghurt, fruit juice, water and a hot drink of your choice. The room was clean, had air conditioning and the bed comfy, what more could you need! Tea and coffee facilities were in the room. Thank you Valentina for a fantastic stay! We had a wonderful stay at the family owned and run American Denisen. Alberto and his staff were very attentive and always happy to help with anything we needed. It was a superb lofted room with bedroom upstairs and we stepped straight out onto the beautiful canal outside, immersing ourselves immediately in everything amazing about this incredible city. Our apartment was very centrally located, although it took us a while to find it because the GPS signal kept dropping out of our phones and trying to get up and down steps with our suitcases wasn't funny. We were dismayed to see that we had to carry them up a steep flight of stairs to the apartment but at least we were on the first floor and not the top one. Although it was a bit dark and gloomy, it was well-appointed and would be ideal for a family as there was a twin room which would have suited 2 children, as well as a cot in the double room. There was also a washing machine which was very useful after being on the road for a bit. However, I was staggered that there was no iron so although we could wash our clothes, we couldn't iron them. They'd provided a little ironing board but presumably that was for use with a travel iron which we didn't have. There were cooking facilities but I can't comment on them as we didn't use them. The toilet cistern leaked a bit which meant there was a constant trickling noise coming from the bathroom but the shower was very good. There was a TV in the double bedroom and the living room. I did feel a little spooked-out though by the absence of any staff. They left information on the table for you which said if you needed anything to ring but when I rang I could hear a phone ringing somewhere in the building but no one answered. We finally saw a woman on the day we left, who had come to service one of the other apartments. She was friendly and spoke good English.

Just back from a 4-night stay at Hotel Kette. The superior room was perfect; a King bed and best of all two beautiful windows looking out onto a canal and the wonderful rooftops of Venice. Lovely bathroom with every facility. Breakfast included and what a breakfast! Muesli, Granola, prepared fresh fruit on your table, yoghurt, croissants and other bread items to choose from plus individual preserves. Cooked breakfast as well - but we had no room left for that. The staff are lovely and always happy to help. Room service every day was excellent. The interior of the hotel is very beautiful with marble floors everywhere in the traditional Venetian style. Apart from the excellent reception area there are well appointed ground floor rooms for meetings including computer facilities, and others for simply resting. The hotel is tucked just off Calle Larga a short walk from St. Mark's Square and with gorgeous shops, at least for looking at!! For our departure to Marco Polo we treated ourselves to a superb Water Taxi which was great. We love Venice and we always choose this hotel - what more can we say! From Mr. & Mrs. J.A. Merrett

We stayed here with a family of five with teenage children. It was beautiful, spacious, warm, well maintained and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything including the essential coffee pot! The apartment was well located for everything, except the train station is a bit of a walk. Took us 30 mins early morning. There is a little shop just behind with the essentials and plenty of other shopping options nearby. St marks square is 6 mins walk. Our hostess was friendly and helpful and we were able to use the washer and dryer downstairs, which was much needed. Would definitely recommend staying here with your family. Tip; if you are coming here , be patient with the floods, find a coffee shop or stay somewhere dry until the water subsides. Thanks for the great stay.

We fell in love with this charming little place from the moment we walked through the giant doors. We were greeted by a lovely gentleman who thankfully spoke English and seamlessly checked us in, carried my large bag up the three flights of stairs and got us straight into our room. The traditional Venetian decor was very tastefully done and the bathroom fixtures and amenities were of a high quality. The room itself was generous in size and the bed was very comfortable. It was certainly a pleasure to wake up here each morning. To my delight, we were greeted with little cookies and tea and coffee when we arrived back to be rooms following turn down service. (The cookies were divine). The staff were very helpful with recommendations and after just a couple of days, we felt right at home. The location was perfect for us as we were after something that wasn’t right in the heart of the Venice chaos, but a very short and pleasant stroll to the main areas. We couldn’t fault this beautiful guesthouse and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a more boutique, luxurious yet affordable option in the heart of Venice.

I give this special little hotel full marks as it clearly ticks all the boxes! For starters, the location is unbeatable - oh the joys of getting up at the crack of dawn to step outside to St Marks square not even three minutes away to watch the sunrise....with not another tourist in sight!! The ten days we spent at this well priced hotel were the best - both Alvise and Luca were the nicest hosts possible and we know that we will definitely return because they made our stay so enjoyable. The rooms have incredibly comfortable beds and our spacious bathroom daily cleaned with fresh towels and soaps. The best was waking up to what was quite simply the best cup of coffee as each room is equipped with its own coffee machine with the most excellent italian coffee specially supplied to the hotel. There were cafes very close by but we never felt the need to go out for breakfast as we could keep all the ham and cheese we wanted in the room's fridge. Of course this was such a central location - but even though our big room faced one of the most famous and busy shopping streets in Venice we were never disturbed by the noise - that one was close to just about everything. We were able to get to all the museums early before the crowds and best was when Venice emptied in the evening and we had the place pretty much all to ourselves and its inhabitants which was quite special. Getting from marco polo airport was so smooth as we just hopped into the Alilaguna airport water shuttle taxi and was at St Marks in an hour - perfect! no time wasted at all. These italians think of everything! Dear Alvise and Luca, you looked after us so well, we shall be back very soon indeed!

In fact, this price of the hotel did not expect high, but at least the cleanliness of the mattress should be a must, after taking a shower at night to open the quilt to see all hair, or a variety of colors, gold brown black. . . What a quaint little family hotel in such a convenient spot. We took the water bus straight from the airport over to Venice, landing at S. The manager/ part owner so helpful and friendly, though only a few days earlier his grandmother/ the founder of the hotel had passed away. We felt much apart of the family when watching soccer with the brothers in the comfy bar area. breakfast was included and quite delicious. The building was once a Nunnery and has a small garden at the back and roof top terrace.Very clean and tidy room though small. Extremely close to everything, restaurants and San Marco Square. Venice is a very easy place to get around as long as you cope with the cobblestone paths. Bathroom clean and sufficient with personal supplies. No tea or coffee facilities but the small bar area is open 24/7. Also has a lift. Would definitely return, and hopefully very soon!

We visited the city of Venice for three nights deciding to stay at this property due to a Hotels.com deal. One day before arrival I was informed that due to a problem with the booked room , we would be upgraded to a corner suite with canal view. Check in was efficient and easy the directions were clear and good and the gentlemen who met me at the agreed meeting point was so polite and helpful. The room was big well presented and very clean. The bed was very big and very comfortable. The heating and hot water efficient and worked well. The rate includes a small breakfast in a lovely lounge area just outside the bedrooms. Also there is a coffee machine and water in the lounge for guests use 24hrs. The location is excellent about a 10/15 walk from the bus and train station that is well signed and very easy . It worked perfectly to do the distance first then we were so close to everything we could pop back when we needed. The lovely lady (so sorry can’t remember your name) let us in early with our bags before suggesting an itinerary for the day which was PERFECT to see all the sights. Breakfast was beautifully presented with plenty of good coffee. Would pay double to stay here again and without doubt sending everyone we know coming to Venice .... worried we won’t get a room next time we visit as this little gem should be booked out years in advance! A very positive experience. I only confirmed the room one day in advance, in the middle of August and I got a single room at a price of a hostel accommodation in a mixed dorm room. A very pleasant surprise. The hotel is, indeed, placed on island however, it is still a perfect choice for travellers with luggage (its much easier to carry the suitcases on board of vaporetto and then to the island than accross tens od bridges in the city). In addition, if you intend to stay in Venice for at least one day, you will buy a daily (or longer) ticket for vaporetto so, going to the hotel on San Servolo will not be an additional cost. The island is amazing, with views of Venice and San giorgio Maggiore on one side, and Lido on the other side. The rooms are comfortable, extremely clean with comfy toilette and all that you might need (even complimentary packages containing nail boards and cotton swabs and a nail file which is lovely gesture which you can usually see only in 4+ hotels). I didn't stay for breakfast so, I don't have and impressions about food and the restaurant but, all and all, the receptionists and bar workers were extremely pleasant and helpful. I would surely recommend it.

Very nice hotel, friendly staff, clean and good location. Vaporetto station Zattere very close by (50 metres), but St. Marcus Square (10-15 minutes), Rialto Bridge (15-20 minutes) and everything else is also in walking distance. We loved Dorsoduro because it is not as touristy and crowded. The view of the Giudecca canal is simply great. Nice bars (Al Squero!!) and restaurants close by. The rooms are small but beautifully designed and totally clean. Beds are super comfortable! Air con works well. Bathroom is equipped with toileteries, slippers and bathrobes. It has a bathtub, not a shower, and a shower curtain which I personally don't like very much. But it was ok. Water pressure was pretty poor, but again, who cares, we're not in Venice for showering ;-). And it was totally ok and worked well. Warm water gets super hot, need to be careful there. We had room no. 4 with a private terrace, overlooking the Guidecca Canal. It's loacated on the first floor, I could imagine that the views from the upper floors are even nicer, but our view already was breathtaking. I really liked having so many windows, 2 out front and one door to the side with access to the terrace. The terrace also overlooks the Guidecca canal (no protection from sun or rain). We didn't use the terrace much (obviously, there is just too much to see in Venice), but it was still great to have it. Whether it's really worth the extra money is a very individual decision. It is possible (extra charge) to get breakfast on that private terrace. Which may make sense, because there are only a few tables in front of the hotel where one can have breakfast. If they are taken, one has to go inside (or wait). The breakfast room inside is also very beautiful, but in Corona times we didn't want to have breakfast inside. Don't quite understand why they don't use the restaurant terrace for breakfast, there would be enough space. Breakfast was good, very nice coffee, nice brioche, eggs (scrambled, fried etc.), yoghurt, water, cheese, ham, nutella, jam, honey. No fruit, unfortunately, but there is a supermarket close by where one can buy fruit. It is also possible to have breakfast on the roof terrace (extra charge). The roof terrace is pretty cool with a nice view - but it's not generally open, one has to book it and get the keys from reception. But it was also possible to go upstairs for a quick look without prior booking. The staff was very friendly with some of them being super-friendly. All speak English very well, some speak even German. It really is a great place for exploring Venice, we very much liked being close to everything but still far enough away from the crowds. Very easy to get there from Tronchetto or Piazzale Roma (by vaporetto). We loved Venice during Corona times. I haven't been to Venice in 20 years and was always a little hesitant to go again due to the tourist crowds. That's why I thought now is the time. And it was. It is already pretty crowded again, especially on the week-ends (S

Wow! What a great experience! This was our first stop on our family vacation (with a large group), and this place AND the people were absolutely amazing. Upon arrival, our rooms were available for us to get checked in (and this was a blessing given the long flight we had just had!). Check in process was effortless, and details on how to navigate the hotel was very clear. When we were shown to our rooms we were blown away with the beautiful layout and decor. Each room had a very clean and luxurious feel to it…and on top of it all super comfortable! The rooms are very spacious, 2 bathrooms, two bedrooms and even a dining area + kitchenette. Also, the views from each room are wonderful...opening the window you are overlooking the canals. It was the perfect home away from home! Every need you had was met perfectly. Each morning we decided to have breakfast in the garden area (or you could choose to have breakfast delivered to your room)…but with the beautiful weather…dining outside was a no brainer! Breakfast was a beautiful experience as well…served in courses, it was an incredible start to the day and presentation was simply impeccable. Oh yea! And there was even a happy hour in the garden in the evenings with snacks/wine! I can’t say enough about how helpful the staff was here at the hotel (anything from arranging transportation, setting up tours, giving us ‘must see’s’ in Venice, etc.). Literally, this was a Home away from Home! I’ve never felt more comfortable in a hotel as I did here at Madama Garden Retreat. Don’t miss out on this experience on your next trip to Venice!!! I know for sure where i’m staying on my return to Venice, Italy!

This is an excellent, quaint hotel located on a quiet campo just a 3 minute walk to Piazza San Marco and right next door to the Murano glass factory showroom. Many wonderful cafes and restaurants nearby. Very close to all the action ( 2 - 3 minute walk to gondola rides) yet very quiet campo. The rooms were lovely, clean, and the staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast. A great location and value, I will stay here again when I am in Venice!

It was a friends reunion and have had lots of fun. Hotel is very well located and with a great service. Rooms are very nice and the staff is outstanding. Never much trouble in doing something. We could have asked for everything and it was not a problem. Very clean and I believe it is one of the best boutique hotels I ever visited. Very closed ti the major point of interest and at the same time out of tourists paths Will stay there again on my next trip to Venice
