Managing expectations. It's a small place without much grounds beyond the parking lot, it's beautifully located for access to Laurel St San Carlos business district (20 reasonably priced restaurants all cuisines within easy flat walk) and convenient to much else in the area. Broiler Express for breakfast, Panda Dumpling or ten others for dinner. Yeah, train noise across El Camino. Beautifully maintained and clean. Rooms smallish but nicely equipped (USB on both sides of the bed!) Not a resort experience but a great place to sleep if you're in the area.

Extended Stay America San Carlos California is an Excellent location conveniently located Close to the Highway and close to local shopping and restaurants. The Management and Staff are over the top friendly and Professional at all levels. The property is well maintained inside and out by the Housekeeping and maintenance department. Our room was Spacious, Clean, Quiet and Very comfortable . Kitchenette with Full size fridge, Full shower and Tub. Absolutely ZERO negative issues here the Employees and Staff. Also has Secure Coin operated Laundry, Vending machines and a ”Grab and Go” breakfast (6-9 am) The only problem we had was that we couldn't find any problems because this Location is Above and Beyond Excellent!!!

Other reviews that are positive on here are obviously fake and submitted by employees. Typical dump motel on El Camino real. Dirty, and I mean dirty: I had to clean the tub myself because only half of it had been cleaned the other half had cleaner literally still sprayed on it that hadn't even been rinsed off or whatever I don't know what the deal was.... It was just gross. I showed up at the front desk at 3:20 p.m., 20 minutes past official check-in time and was told by the attendant that I may have to wait for a room because only one maid showed up that day. You have to treat your maids pretty damn bad for them not to show up on a Sunday morning. They do that to get back at you as an employer. If they were just going to quit or not show up for a day, Sunday is the day to choose if you really want to hurt the establishment that you work for. I could go on and on about the things that are wrong with the room: the heater air conditioner reeks like rats or mice when you turn it on, the microwave smells like other people's food and the interior is covered in gray burn marks (there are nicer microwaves in this town sitting on the curb, free) ditto the armchair in the room which frankly is too dirty and stained for someone even to be selling at their garage sale. The DirecTV remote control was the most gross, I think, of everything in the room. Nasty spilled food stuck to it, Brown and gray globs stuck on it, just seriously so incredibly gross. Cheapest DirecTV package available with minimum channels available mostly channels that are selling stuff like QVC and home shopping Network or strange religious programming & foreign language channels. Bathroom fan so loud, I've heard quieter lawn mowers. Small parking lot. Neglected rundown property.

2 stars because staff is just awesome!!! Lost 3 stars because of: Terrible noise from Drag racing Friday and Saturday AM from midnight to 1AM. Freeway noise constant. No food nearby except a gas station 3 blocks away and 5 blocks away an in-n-out, but you have to cross a really dark and super busy street to get there. Lost another star because their breakfast is just... See the pictures taken 30 minutes before the end of breakfast time. Not much. Also, not really in Redwood City. Coffee is not good. They have no milk cartons. Just a jar during breakfast. Consider if you have kids. They charge for parking. I heard someone complaining they parked across the street and their car got towed. Just pay for parking. Not worth the tow fees otherwise. Pool by 5pm littered with either napkins or toilet paper. I mentioned this because on 2 separate stays I have gone to the pool and I have seen this.

I have to say The Good Nite Inn-Redwood City was an unexpected pleasurable hotel. I had booked a room for 4 nights in Burlingame, with my debit card. After a long day, & long drive we arrive only to be told there having sum issues. And we cannot check in. Mind you, it's the day before fourth of July . So we spend next hour trying to find an available room . Call after call gets us nowhere, and I am starting to panic. Then I call the good nite inn , & speak with Renee. She says she thinks there may be a c9ôancellation. She returns to phone call and tells me yes, there , is. She hears the panic & desperation in my voice. So she asks me how fast I can get there. Telling me just to relax & just get there . Needless to say .....she turned my whole bad day around into a beautiful. Holiday. Thank you soo much

Due to the virus, there is no breakfast buffet, instead it is a “to go” bag with 1 bottle of water, 1 fruit, and 1 bar - every day is the same bar, just hope they can give a little variety of bars, muffins or danishes or bagels etc... Such a big building, yet there is only one elevator. It is somewhat inconvenient to the far side of rooms to reach the elevator.

A total of two floors, an outdoor pool, the room is clean! The room smelled a bit when I was in, and I couldn't smell it after I opened the door for a while. There are many Mexicans and Chinese. After staying for a few days, they met many Chinese.

I'm surprised there's not been a review here in the last 2+ years. In that time, i'm guessing they've made improvements? I was very happy to find a microwave oven in the room. Also, because i'd come in early October when the morning weather had been on the nippy side, i was very thankful that the air con also had a 'heater' setting. Missing from the room, though, was something to make hot water with, and there was no in-room safe. Also, there seemed to be an inadequate amount of parking spaces. The southeast Asian lady at reception was ever-so-friendly, though! While many inns offer some sort of cheap breakfast, Seq Inn doesn't even bother, which is fine, since there's enough eateries nearby. (I booked for one night just to be close to SFO to fly out the next day - plans to go right up the 101 were scuttled by a crash, so i took the 280 which turned out to be a very pleasant and uncrowded alternative)

My wife is a Titanium Bonvoy member and we were excited to stay at this property since we were helping our daughter move apartments and we hoped to find a nice base for future visits. That won't be happening despite the fact that this is quite a new, and reasonably pleasant hotel inside, for reasons I will describe. This hotel is located in what is essentially a commercial area, surrounded by car dealerships and close to highway 101. There is an entry area where one can drop bags and passengers and where is located the reception area. To the left as one looks at the hotel, is the parking garage and one obtains, for a small fee, a card to indicate your guest status at the hotel. However, the garage is in no way secure. Anyone can drive in there and by the looks of some of the cars (two people sitting in the car with hats pulled low over their eyes, no guest cards in most of the cars I could see etc.) it looks as though this is a place people unaffiliated with the hotel hang out. To be fair, we were never accosted or anything, but it can be disturbing when returning at night for reasons that will become clear when I explain the incident below. There is no apparent security there, no cameras that I could see. There are several chargers for EVs. The room we were given was very nice. Interesting layout that differed from the standard rooms one tends to find, large, clean, with a nice sofa and even a small balcony although, unless one enjoys looking across marshland and a Ford dealership, there wasn't much to see from our room. The bathroom was large and the shower excellent. All in all, much to like. I do find the fact that this is a ”no housekeeping unless requested” hotel a bit wearing but I guess that is a cost saving/staffing/covid issue we all need to get used to. Gone, it seems, is the option to opt out of cleaning in return for some benefits as a loyalty member. The staff here (with the notable and welcome exception of the bar tender on our first night) seem bored and disinterested. I can put up with that except for the following incident that occurred on or second night of three. My wife and I were awakened, at around 1230am, by an extremely loud ruckus immediately outside our room. Yelling, F-bombs, screaming. It was clear that what was happening was an extremely aggressive police arrest. Someone was being forced to the ground, cuffed, threatened with tazing, and finally marched away. Literally, right outside our room. This sounded like very serious police action. This is, on the fourth floor of a hotel, disconcerting to say the least. I understand that police actions sometimes happen but when we voiced our concern both in online chat, and in person the following morning this was the response: ”I wasn't on duty last night so I don't know. I think that some guests were being loud and the police were called”. No promise to find out more, to get back to us, and all totally disinterested and bored. We didn't hear any noise close to our roo

The hotel address is a bit remote and the room is a bit small; but the lobby manager saw us checking in, two adults and one child, and took the initiative to inquire and adjust to a larger room; the parking lot is bright and safe, the room facilities are new, and the room lights are slightly darker It would be nice to add a floor lamp; the breakfast is simple but exquisite, and there is a very good Korean restaurant across the street; it is not far from Silicon Valley and Stanford.
