A comfortable garden unit in a well cared for 3-flat, in a wonderful and safe neighborhood. Easy access to the lake front, dining and shopping. A great weekend getaway or a place to call home for a few months. Public transit is nearby, trains and express buses to downtown. Ride a bike home from downtown along the lakefront.
A neighborhood on Chicago’s north side, Andersonville is known for its Swedish roots, historic architecture, and bustling urban main street, Clark Street. When you arrive in Andersonville, you feel you have arrived someplace special.
Note: Being a garden unit, take note of the dropped heating pipes, particularly if you are taller than 6'2". Please see pics.
While our roots are Swedish, we are also recognized as the “shop local capital of Chicago,” supporting the largest network of local and independent businesses in the area.
Home to one of Chicago’s largest LGBTQ+ populations, Andersonville is a community full of pride and a commitment to equality.
* Parking is free on the street, no permits and easy
* Public transit is nearby
* Walk to neighborhood shops
* Little known secret: Take express bus to downtown shopping in 20 mins along lake shore drive, optionally ride bike home along the lakefront. The train is also an option.
My favorite places are the Hopleaf for a Belgian style brewpub atmosphere, very popular and Little Bad Wolf for dining. There is so much along the Clark St strip for shopping, don’t miss the Andersonville Galleria, a collection of shops in one venue. The brown elephant is another interesting thrift store for treasure hunts. Everything is close to your location. You’ll also want to go to the lakefront, just walk east down Berwyn, then at Sheridan look for a parkway to the north of Berwyn at Sheridan to get to the lakefront parks, great place for a bike ride. Ride north and it gets busier along the path. You’ll notice a Mariano’s grocery store (my favorite one) at Sheridan and Foster (you can get to the lake from Foster as well). There are two other grocery stores close by as well, depending on the direction you are headed. Oh, another great spot you’ll need to book in advance… Chicago Magic Lounge, a newly renovated flashback to a mid century atmosphere with reminiscent cocktails and a cozy setting for a magic show, a unique experience.About pets:No pets allowed.About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.About children:Adults only.About customRules:Not responding to questions in a timely manner may result in cancellation of the booking..Respect the neighbors, particularly between the hours of 10pm - 8am,Do not dispose of anything in the toilet or hang anything on the pipes. Hotels Near Argyle In Chicago Review
ipoppy
ipoppyChicago is still stunning, with its skyscraper skyline and a lake that blends into the sky. The hotel is also quite upscale, offering a $25 voucher for use at the ground floor lobby. It acts as a direct cash deduction, not including tip, and is enough for a decent Western meal.
Guest User
Guest UserA classic Hi USA hostel. For 400 RMB, getting a bunk in the South Loop is something to be grateful for. The location is excellent: a bus stop is just across the street to the south, a metro station to the north, and Grant Park to the east. Most major attractions are even within a 20-minute walk.
The water dispenser is only on the second floor, which is quite inconvenient. Having to go downstairs every time to get water is a bit of a hassle.
The downsides are clear: the decor is a bit dated, and there are no bed curtains. Plus, it's right next to the elevated Loop 'L' train tracks, so the noise is noticeable. Those with poor sleep quality will have a tough time. Personally, I don't mind; it's part of Chicago's character.
There are lockers in the room for your belongings, just remember to bring your own lock. Each room has a sink outside the door, with separate bathrooms and toilets. The bathrooms are equipped with shower gel and shampoo, and amenities are restocked promptly. However, the shower water pressure in the room is insufficient. I also tried the communal showers, and the water pressure there was much better than in the room, making for a much more comfortable wash. The cleaning staff are efficient, promptly removing dirty towels and emptying trash cans. The front desk staff are very friendly, and you can ask them for fresh towels even late at night.
In summary: For 400 RMB, what more can you ask for from a bunk bed within the Loop?
Guest User
Guest UserLocation: The hotel boasts an excellent location. It's super convenient to get to, with a direct train from the airport right to the nearby station. Plus, there's a large shopping mall and plenty of restaurants just across the street. Cleanliness: The hotel maintains good hygiene standards. Facilities: Unlike hotels in China, you'll need to provide your own slippers, toiletries, and drinking water in the room.
Weiwen Guo
Weiwen GuoEvery thing is good, BF is good. the happy hour every day is very nice. the suite is very nice the insite room has a door, just like one bedroom. But one night the entire hootel has no water for a few hours. Although it was emergency repair, but I wish the staff would explain more details to us.
Rhys 高瑞
Rhys 高瑞Overall, we had a great stay at the Warwick Allerton and would definitely stay here again. For the price, the location and quality of the room were hard to beat.
The location is excellent, right on the Magnificent Mile and about a 10-minute walk from both the Grand and Chicago Red Line stations. It made a great base for exploring the city, and it was easy to come back to the hotel whenever we wanted to rest during the day.
We arrived around 11 AM, well before the 4 PM check-in time, hoping to store our luggage. There is a luggage storage area near the entrance for $2 per piece. Unfortunately, this was probably the most frustrating part of our stay. We waited about five minutes for an attendant, who then directed us upstairs to see if we could check in early. Early check-in was available for around $30 if a room was ready, but since we already had plans, we decided to just store our bags. We were sent back downstairs, where the attendant was gone again, and we waited about 15 minutes along with several other guests before someone returned. Given how many guests arrive before check-in, I wish the luggage storage process were a little more efficient.
When we returned around 4:30 PM, however, check-in was quick and seamless. The employees were friendly and efficient, and retrieving our luggage was surprisingly fast as well.
Our room was on the 22nd floor and was lovely—clean, bright and comfortable, with a great view of the surrounding city blocks. We booked a king room, and it was a genuinely large king-size bed, which was definitely worth the upgrade. The bedding was especially soft and luxurious. The pillows were decent, although a couple were slightly lumpy, and the bed frame was a little squeaky. There was plenty of lighting and conveniently placed power outlets throughout the room.
The bathroom was small but stylish and made good use of the space. The shower had decent water pressure, and the water could get VERY hot, which I appreciated.
There were a few minor downsides. Our room was directly across from the elevators, so we could sometimes hear them arriving and people getting on and off. There are five main elevators serving a large hotel, and we occasionally had to wait a few minutes for one, especially during busier times. Street noise could also be surprisingly noticeable from the 22nd floor when particularly loud motorcycles or cars went by. The AC worked well enough and kept the room comfortable, but it seemed to bottom out around 68°F. I personally like my hotel rooms absolutely freezing, so I supplemented it with a portable fan.
Housekeeping was great throughout our stay. They made the bed, replaced towels daily and were always friendly.
Despite those relatively minor complaints, this was a very comfortable and cozy stay. We actually ended up spending quite a bit of time relaxing in the room because it was such a pleasant place to come back to after exploring Chicago. Between the comfortable room, friendly staff, fantastic location and very reasonable price, I thought the Warwick Allerton offered excellent value. I would happily stay here again.
YING
YINGThe location of the hotel is very good, the facilities are very good, after all, is a four-star hotel. The only thing is that it is too late to get the room card at 5 o'clock and waited for half a day in the lobby.
Jane_2025
Jane_2025The hotel is quite close to the exhibition center, about a 30-minute walk. There's a park nearby, and it's not far from the lake either. However, the hotel staff had a poor attitude; they were unwilling to provide disposable toiletries, though the guy who helped with luggage storage was good. The room facilities are old, soundproofing is bad, and the bathroom has no extractor fan – the alarm even went off after a shower if the door wasn't closed. It's definitely not worth $350 a night.
Anna Ian
Anna IanThe Best Western River North Hotel is a practical choice for exploring Chicago, thanks to its excellent location near the Magnificent Mile. The rooms are clean and functional, providing a comfortable base for a short stay.
One of the highlights is the rooftop deck, which offers great views of the city skyline. Having an indoor pool and on-site parking is also a major convenience for this downtown area. It offers reliable value for those who want to be close to the action without the luxury hotel price tag. And we had an amazing walk to union train stationSearches related to Hotels Near Argyle in Chicago
