Hotels Near Asian Bistro In San Diego
0.11km from Asian BistroAlyssa and her team really went above and beyond to accommodate my friends and I in our trip to San Diego at the Westin and we’d 100% choose this hotel again for any future trips to San Diego. I booked 2 rooms for our group and she was able to honor a suite night request (I have Ambassador status with Marriott) & also ensure our 2nd room connected to the suite!! The suite was huge which was amazing so that we could spread out. She also arranged for a birthday cake to be delivered to the room for my friend’s birthday which was such a fun surprise. The hotel staff was very responsive to our requests for extra toiletries, towels, robes, etc. and took away our trash/dirty towels every evening. They even found an HDMI cord so that we could connect our computer to the tv and watch a movie. We felt it was very clean & everyone wears masks in common spaces. They have a good amount of services even in COVID (e.g., the airport shuttle, breakfast downstairs in the lobby, etc.). The sunsets from the room were beautiful and we even enjoyed the pool! Overall it was a fantastic value and I’m very thankful to Alyssa and her staff for their warm hospitality!!
0.14km from Asian BistroUpon arrival its easy to be impressed, the hotel is modern with historic charm. We were told we got a renovated room on a high floor. Wow, we were mislead. The room was quaint but at the far side of the building closest to existing construction site of a hotel that is currently in full swing and VERY loud and can be heard from the room in the morning. (No sleeping in) You are downtown so we did expect normal traffic, but construction right next door is quite a different tradeoff. The hotel staff should have done their best to place guests away from this noise, we were place literally with our window facing it - the high floor did not matter. We stayed during the week - this may or may not be a thing on the weekend. I have a sneaking suspicion our accommodations were less prioritized because we booked through a third-party travel site, as they made note of that at check-in and seemed to treat dirext bookees a little friendlier; again, just a note. We were moved twice after our first room's toilet was broken & phone disconnroom's. We had to pack up our things to go downstairs and retrieve new keys to then move right next door 30 minutes after checking in. Later that evening, after a long day I took a shower and got ready to have a late dinner and go out for the evening to plug in the blow dryer to find the second room's outlet didn't work in the bathroom. I called the Front Desk and was told we could move rooms again or we could wait for maintenance to come in at 8 AM in the next morning. We elected to move rooms as we didn't want someone to disrupt our schedule and we had plans for the evening still - we needed an outlet without having to leave a hot curling iron on the floor. So we moved rooms, by the time everything was done we were just frustrated. Management never called to check in with us or apologize for the inconvenience of their "renovated" rooms the next day or the entire stay aside from the survey. The location of the hotel is about a 15 mins walk to the Broadway Pier, 12 mins to the Santa Fe Depot Tram to take you to the Green Line, and then about 15 mins to Little Italy and 10 mins to Gaslamp. Location is alright, but with the construction headache, lack of customer service, and many other options there are in these areas, you may be better suited to grab a deal elsewhere.
0.19km from Asian BistroI have stayed at The Guild several times now for business travel and I am happy to come back again and again. The service is impeccable. I really feel taken care of by the staff in this hotel with them handling even the small details. The design of the Hotel is quirky and appreciated and sticks with the theme of the Tribute Hotels well. This building was a former YMCA retrofitted to be hotel rooms and the design thoughtfully incorporates that theme without it being in your face. The color scheme and layout of the rooms is calming. The bathrooms are especially nice- walk-in showers with wide doorways and room to move is appreciated. Be aware that some of the smaller rooms do not have wardrobes- instead you hang things on exposed bars in the room. If this bothers you then you should book the second tier room. You also need to request things like an iron or tea kettle which they bring efficiently. For those who need real quiet for sleep ask for a room overlooking the back of the hotel or courtyard (unless there is a large party happening over the weekend). The workout facility is nice for this size of hotel. The food is very good with nice choices for lunch and dinner. My only complaint is if you have restricted meal requirements the selection at breakfast is a little too small. Some simple bites to go with the swanky menu would be appreciated for those who travel frequently. The hotel is easy walking distance around much of the downtown and to the ocean. Great for business travelers with easy access to meetings and to highways for getting around town. Also great access to public transportation. Overall highly recommend the hotel especially if you want a high level of service and if you appreciate a boutique feel to your hotels.
0.2km from Asian BistroThe Hotel Republic of San Diego provided me with the best hotel experience I've ever had in my entire life!! I called in to Josh, Rooms Director there, letting him know I was planning to propose to my girlfriend. He asked questions and overall was so caring of my situation. He let his staff know what was going on and they all coordinated with me to make my dinner proposal at TopSide, there rooftop restaurant, an absolutely wonderful, romantic, and surprising proposal! on top of that, Josh surprised me by upgrading me and my now fiancé to the presidential suite!!! This was the room you only see in the movies!! It brought my fiancé to tears because my family came in to decorate the room with flowers!!! We were so overwhelmed!! Thank you Josh and the entire staff at the Hotel Republic for blessing us with such an amazing experience and giving us the VIP treatment!!! 5/5 stars for this hotel I Highly Recommend it!!! Also Great location for visitors, your a scooter ride away from anything you want to do and see. . Other than the zoo maybe lol great views, amazing restaurants, drinks, and of course the beautiful ocean
0.23km from Asian BistroIt was our 17th wedding anniversary, so we decided to do a short overnight stay at this hotel, as they had a great deal online. Booked the room(City King), and got confirmation. We are born and raised here in San Diego, so we've stayed at numerous hotels in the city. This hotel was a great addition to our staycation list. We had a room on the top floor, and had a few minor issues. We called down to the front desk, and were taken care of right away. In the midst of a pandemic, with all the stresses of the world going on, it's a blessing to still be treated with the utmost professionalism and kindness. Kudos to all of the staff we had the chance to interact with, as each of them went above and beyond to make sure we were accommodated and taken care of. Bianca, Chris(valet), Rosa, Ismael, and Nicole were all professional, thorough and friendly. Thank you Bristol - we will be back again.

0.33km from Asian BistroMy boyfriend and I stayed here for a few days to take a break from our normal work-from-home routine, and we had a very relaxing and comfortable stay! You can tell the rooms were renovated earlier this year, which made us feel a lot more comfortable from a sanitation perspective given everything going on with COVID, and there are social distancing signs and sanitation stations located throughout the hotel. As with any hotel, there are understandable amenities that are unavailable such as room service and daily housekeeping (which I actually feel is a positive thing unlike another person's review, as I personally prefer minimal contact in my room), and the hotel is in such a convenient location that there are tons of dining options within walking distance or a short drive away. Also wi-fi is free if you are a Marriott Bonvoy member and book directly on Marriott's site! There's also street parking available or lower-priced parking garages very close by, which the friendly staff at the hotel let us know when we asked about the options. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting from out of town or looking for a local staycation!
0.38km from Asian BistroWhen you first get there I felt like I had traveled back in time to the age of the Titanic. We were met by a very helpful valet host who held the door open for us and offered to assist with our luggage. Check in was fast and pretty smooth, Daniel was quick and friendly. They give you an old school (with a modern chip) metal key. Was cool but if you dont have a key ring/chain was tricky keeping tabs of. The rooms were very nice. The bathroom is grande that's for sure with gold plated metal hardware, a large vanity and nice complimentary array of personal hygiene care. I was on the 16th floor. Great view of the city. The room had a Keurig (never used it) a small fridge and a safe which you use a personal credit card to lock and unlock. The desk was very nice and there were 2 large seats. The gym facilities were amazing to use. The pool deck was also spectacular with a 1/10 mile rubber track, a crossfit area and spin class area. The classes cost $10 for guest but are worth up. I was there for a week long conference. The hotel staff were always very friendly and quick to open a door for you. The entire hotel is beautiful. The front desk members including Daniel were helpful in giving suggestions for places to eat and directions. The hotel bar and restaurant are pretty spectacular. Only visited it once on Thursday the 13th. The bartender could have been a little friendlier for me and my friends who had a couple of cocktailmls a piece. The only drawback and this isn't anything on the hotel are the public electric street cars. From 4:30 am until 1 to 2 am they horn signal is louder then anything even 16 stories high making it difficult to sleep if you are a light sleeper such as myself. Besides that if were to visit San Diego again I would seriously consider staying at the Westgate again as well as suggesting it to others. And on my last day I had the assistance from the concierge woman in checking out. She informd me she had been there for a long time and it showed. Her knowledge of the hotel and its culture were excellent. She took a lot of pride in the hotel and was very friendly. Thank you for the accommodations.
0.43km from Asian BistroPros: - classic old hotel - lots of food options - very clean - good service - comfortable bed Cons: - small room - expensive - homeless/safety issues outside hotel This is one of the places I have always wanted to stay at in San Diego. The hotel is very old, but has classy modern upgrades. The room was quite small, but very clean and the bed was wonderful. There are tons of food options within walking distance. I encountered lots of homeless, drunks and drug addicts while walking around the area. If you go out for food or drinks you need to be safety conscious, especially in the evening hours. Obviously this is not the fault of the hotel, but it is something guests need to be aware of. As a platinum guest I received a $20 credit for breakfast in the restaurant. The food and service was very good. The bellman ran out to the street to flag down my confused Uber driver. All service was excellent and as expected from a high-end hotel. It took about 10-15 minutes to get to the airport. I would certainly stay here again.
0.43km from Asian BistroMy husband and I LOVE this hotel. After our first stay back in August which was a blast, hands down the best hotel in Little Italy. The staff are all wonderful and super accommodating. We had room 1526 which had a great view of the bay. We were just there last weekend for my husband’s birthday celebration and invited 2 other couples to join us for a weekend getaway. I wanted to make sure we got the same room so called the hotel and Michelle was so nice to make a sure it was noted on my reservation. The staff are so nice and always greeted us with a smile (I can tell even with their masks on) and with a hello. The hotel has done a good job with making sure they comply with current health/safety guidelines during Covid. It would have been nice to have our room made during our stay but completely understand due to the safety guidelines it’s a limited service. They still provided us with whatever we needed such as extra towels, wine glasses, and whatever else we needed to make our stay a pleasant experience. Since the gym wasn’t open back in Aug we were able to utilize the gym during this stay. Omg love the beautiful gym that is included with our stay. It’s an independently owned gym that just happens to be in the same building. It’s amazing and super clean. They shut it down every hour and a half for half an hour for cleaning. It’s a pain to stop in the middle of your workout and resume when they open but so worth it. If you want a place to have drinks, there is a rooftop lounge bar which is amazing. The pool area is nice with cabanas. We weren’t able to use the pool on this trip since the weather was a bit overcast. The location of this hotel is walking distance to the restaurants in Little Italy and the waterfront. There is a Starbucks just adjacent to the hotel that my husband and I have our morning routine of Starbucks then walk down to the waterfront. I love San Diego! Being gone for over 20+ years has made me appreciate this city more and more. Living in the Bay Area and bring only 40 mins from San Francisco, I chose San Diego every time. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone that’s looking for comfort (bed and shower are amazing), easy walk to restaurants/waterfront/, great staff just overall fun experience.
0.45km from Asian BistroThe hotel is good, very close to the sea, not far from the aircraft carrier, the beach scenery is beautiful, there is a nice children's playground. Going left and turning left there are many restaurants to the north, and there is a small supermarket. There are many new buildings around the hotel, the streets are beautiful and there are not many people. Less than ten minutes walk to the train station, it is especially convenient to take the train to Los Angeles. The room is very clean, the breakfast is just a few, the variety is not enough but the taste is OK, nutrition and calories are definitely no problem, in fact, after eating a few hotels in the same grade in the United States, you know, there is no difference. Each bed in the twin room is very wide. If there is a couple with two children, there is no problem at all.
0.51km from Asian BistroI cannot recommend this place enough. Fantastic customer service, great bright rooms with a lot of sunlight and warm interiors. Customer experience has been phenomenal and the staff really worked hard to solve various issues that arose during my 4 month stay. You'll be in walking distance from Seaport Village (very touristy) and Little Italy and, if you're like me, walking distance to Gaslamp (20+ min). USS Midway+Maritime Museum/Star of India is nearby. Military people, there's Mussel Gym next door in the Navy Region Southwest building. Fruit is available 24/7 in the gym if you want it. Parking, yes, is expensive. With one exception, was able to easily park myself in garage on the 2nd/3rd floor. They are in the process of putting in a permanent bar, so no bar as of now. Really, I enjoyed my stay. For thanksgiving, they gave me some cookies and starbucks coffee. They even gave me some free drinks from the hotel store when I asked about the few times the Sunset Sips (free drink) wasn't happening that day. Note that this area isn't super touristy, not a lot to do immediately around to walk to. It is quiet but occasionally cruise/Navy ships will dock. You will hear loud sound signals as ships maneuver nearby. I've slept pretty well. The only sound I'd note is from construction within the hotel or in the street outside. The Amtrack station is right across the street! If you sit on the patio, ask them to light up the fires for you! Also has heated pool with towels available
0.51km from Asian BistroWith San Diego Bay just blocks away, this charming building has the best of Little Italy right at its doorstep. Soak up the sun along the tree-lined streets and explore the delicious eateries, sidewalk cafes, museums, and theatres. Each space is equipped with all the comforts of home—spacious rooms, comfortable beds, in-suite laundry, and full-size kitchens.
Hotels Near Asian Bistro In San Diego Review
Misson Bay / Loma Heights
Booked this place to celebrate my daughters, niece, and brothers bday. Unfortunately, the rooms that we booked, which was the bungalow garden view were not what we expected. The online adverstisement showed more luxurious and beautiful rooms. Our room was supposed to have a separate living area, and bedroom but it was the other way around. We walked into a bed in the living room with the kitchenette and a dining table. The tv was placed in the corner, in between a window and a door. There is a separate room with a pull out couch and a tv, which should’ve been in the living room.. due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we were expecting a clean room, but I ended up cleaning this place up. The drapes, curtains were filthy!!!! The counters, tables were dusty!!! The coffee machine and supplies looked like it has been sitting there for ages; microwave had a lot of stains.. no rugs in the room and made it really cold, and did not feel cozy at all. When you’re on vacation and paying $600/night (bungalow garden view) the room should be at the highest standard and guests will have the highest expectations given the fact that you are paying this kind of money.. we wanted a place where we can rest up and relax.. Unfortunately, when we walked in, we wanted to leave right away- the room that we booked was supposed to have a separate living and bedroom space. But it was the other way around. The bed was in the living area along with kitchenette and dining area. There’s a separate room w a couch and a tv. It was cold and it didn’t feel welcoming.. during this Covid 19 pandemic, the rooms should be extra clean, the walls had stains and the floor is dirty.. we requested extra blankets but had holes on them. This is not what we expected at the rooms are not worth the price- Needs a lot of improvement!!!!!! U can get a $300-400/night with the same amenities plus a very nice room.. this place Maybe need to hire better housekeeping company. Paying this kind of money, our expectAtions were high and very disappointed. On top of that, we can hear people next door so we didn’t not have a good nights sleep. So far this resort have been the most disappointing as far as the room situation. We hope to see improvements on the bungalow garden view and lanai rooms in the future.. clean, cozy, and well decorated rooms.. On a good note, the resort is beautiful; good location. One of the reason why we stayed in our bungalow is because we had a nice view of the bay and steps away from the sand- that kind of made the room situation better.. There are 5 pools on property, our family enjoyed their time at the pool. We pretty much had the pool to ourselves. Our kids loved the fact that they can walk around the property, rode their scooters. There’s a rental place for bikes, etc.. and other activities on site. Fire pit for s’mores nights are also available on a first come, first serve. It was also convenient for us to be able to walk to the restaurants on property. The island market is
Downtown San Diego
Booked the hotel in Sept 2020, based on nostalgia from multiple past stays back over the last 10 years. Back then the hotel used to have a cool boutique vibe to it, with a happening rooftop scene, and cool amenities included in the hefty resort fee, such as fresh complementary cold brew coffee in the morning, complementary wine at happy hour in the lobby, free bike rentals, etc. While Solamar still falsely advertises those amenities on its website and still charges the hefty daily resort fee, the only complementary amenity now offered is slow Wi-Fi. I know they'll say it's probably all due to Covid, but then either stop charging the resort fee or make edits to your website, right? Other than that, the cool vibe is gone. The hotel shows its age, the staff is apathetic. Once that happens, the place becomes just another hotel with small, noisy, dirty rooms and no life whatsoever. But they still do charge that resort fee...

It is beyond imagination. Breakfast is not delicious, but at least the Chinese can accept a full stomach, and it is included in the room rate. It's very close to the nearby Old World of the Sea World. We are playing uber, but it feels more convenient if we drive by ourselves. The ucsd to go further is actually quite fast, and San Diego is not big. The room rate is very cheap compared to other hotels. The room is large. Although it is next to the high speed, it is not too noisy. It should not affect the rest.
Came here for wedding anniversary, and loved the property! The grounds were very well kept, the golf course is beautiful, the trails were nice (not strenuous even though the signs say so), very pet friendly, the pools were warm and still open during covid-19 (Canon and Alex were extremely helpful), the service in general was perfect. Addison was the highlight of our stay, the meal was beautiful and delicious and happy they offered a white truffle dish. One disappointing part of our trip however was the Spa. I booked 2 massages for myself and my husband, and his was decent whereas mine was very much underwhelming to the point that I wondered if my masseuse was even licensed. I told her that my pain points were my neck and shoulders and if she could focus on that area more, and she didn't. She used no pressure and oddly focused more on my arms and feet, using just stoking strides which was weird. She also didn't tell me about the mask option because I couldn't breath with my mask on and she gave no direction with that - i ended up loosening it up a bit on my own so that I could breath. My husband later told me that his masseuse gave him direction and told him that if it was harder to breath, he can remove his mask because there was some sort of cup thing under the headrest which was fine. The massage rooms were outdoor cabanas due to covid-19 which initially sounded romantic, but in reality it was not relaxing due to a dog that was chewing on a squeaky toy half the time in a nearby hotel room (not the hotel's fault though and we love dogs, but just not ideal during a massage) and people talking loudly nearby. Since my husband got a decent massage, I chalk it up to just getting someone that wasn't good and/or didn't care to provide a good experience. Overall, it was a nice experience even during the covid-19 times. Everything was clean, sanitizer around every corner and I felt pretty safe on the property. We would definitely come back again! I would just be weary of the spa and ask for someone with more experience. They also just started putting up the Christmas decorations, and the place looks even more magical for the holidays!
Check in was a breeze and I got a great ocean front, 3rd floor room!!! PERFECT! Underground parking for the rental car was nice to have!! Great view from the balcony of the ocean and boardwalk. Was great sleeping to the ocean roar at night! The cleanings ladies were outstanding and room was cleaned every early afternoon. Some good choices just down the boardwalk to the North to eat at, prices not that bad. Good place for breakfast across the street at 20/20 cafe. My favorite burger place was at Mission Burger. Woody's was good too, but always busy with a line. For a evening meal and bar, World Famous right next to the Hotel was the place to go!! Fast service at the bar!....went to MCRD for graduation, to see and laugh for old times sake....Balboa Park good Auto and Air museum...Good photo ops of aircraft landing at SAN. Ralph's Grocery a short walk to the north to get Groceries or pop for the room...Will be back next March for my 50th Graduation from Boot Camp!!! Good massage and Spa at the motel across the street to the East....A drive to Silver Strand beach is a great place for sunset photos too...
