The train station is out, the attractions are very close, the bus is also very convenient, the most user-friendly is that the hotel also sent a free bus card, too value, the only drawback is that the breakfast is too expensive, we all go out to eat

An interesting hotel. First, its location is very good. A couple minutes walk from the Hbf, and from there, an easy stroll into the town centre. It's older, but the rooms have been brought up to modern standards, whilst retaining the charm of older furniture (see photo). I found my room to be comfortable with a great view. The wifi was terrible though. Checkin was no problem with the staff having a far better command of English compared to my German. Polite and efficient. There is a restaurant (I didn't go) a separate breakfast room, bar and lounge, all comfortable. Breakfast is continental, but Omelettes and scrambled egg dishes can be ordered. Although there are steps from the street, there is a lift inside. I liked this place a lot, and it justifies its claimed 4*. But, sort the wifi!

A charming bio hotel on the edge of the city centre and near the train station. Easy to get to the whole centre in 5 minutes. Breakfast is really nice and personal. All the usual but he will also adjust to suit you and all the food is organic. Owner also speaks English. It's next to the railway but the windows are double glazed and neither of us noticed them as the more or less stop after 11pm. He also provides ear plugs in every room if you are worried.

We had a 2 bedroom suite (room 8), which was accessed a couple of doors down the street and up quite a few stairs (no lift). The room was lovely, clean and comfortable. We ate dinner at the hotel one night, which was very nice and good value for money, and we also ate breakfast at the hotel one morning, which was not so good and was definitely not good value for money (€13 per person). The hotel is in a fantastic location in the heart of the old town, and is less than a 10 minute walk to the castle, museum and to the water front. It is also just a few minutes walk from the lovely town hall (Rathaus) square, which sometimes has special events going on, and then just a few minutes walk down to the main shopping area of the town, which has 2 decent sized malls. All in all, this was a very pleasant hotel and a great place to stay for a few days to leisurely explore what the town and surrounding area has to offer.

We had apartment nb 12 (type III) for 5 persons for a very good value. It is located 2 mins away from the reception building, ~7 mins from schwerin mitte station (not the main station), 7 mins from the center of the city and 5 mins from the castle. The apartment has 2 bedrooms and a living room with a kitchen and all the necessary amenities. It’s very spacious and clean; perfect for 5 people. Check-in and checkout was easy and simple. The only downside is the fact that you have to carry all your luggage on 2 floors since there’s no elevator. Also the internet connection was bad but it didn’t really matter for us.

I came by train and it was a 5 minute walk to the hotel. It is located very central and makes it a great place to stay to reach pretty much everything in the city. The hotel itself was good. The furniture might be a little outdated - there might be potential to invest in modern furniture to modernize the whole hotel. Overall, friendly staff. Clean and cozy room. Breakfast good. Thanks for the hospitality!

I wanted to give this hotel a good review, but I simply can't because of the poor service my husband and I received. It started even before we arrived when we called ahead to inquire about the room. The employee on the other line was short and unhelpful and our questions weren't adequately answered.

The day of our arrival went smoothly, however, as we were checked in quickly and efficiently by a friendly woman at reception. This all changed the next day though, when we discovered our mini bar wasn't working and we requested to have it fixed or replaced. Granted it was late in the day, but nonetheless when we finally got reception on the phone, after trying several times, we were told that she would look into it. It was unclear. however, if she would get back to us or not, due to her poor communication skills. Finally, we had to go downstairs and ask her in person since again she wasn't answering the phone. She finally told us that no one could fix the mini bar, continued apologizing, and offered the only option of moving to another room. We were already leaving the next day so this didn't make much sense. At no time did she offer us a cold drink from another mini bar, or even offer ice in a glass. When I asked for ice, she went to look and quickly retuned saying there was none left!!

More confusion ensued concerning breakfast. We understand that in times covid 19, hotels are run differently. There was no buffet, for example, and the hotel did offer us a discount on breakfast. But both days, we had to remind them we ate vegetarian, even though we had explicitly explained that already at check-in. Furthermore, the so-called 'maxi breakfast' was nothing more then several sad slices of cheese, some bead with the typical spreads....and liverwurst! Finally, we wanted to sit a lager table in the mostly empty restaurant. The waiter refused to let us, clumsily explaining that those tables were reserved for four and that was the end of it.

On the plus side, the room was spacious and clean with a decent view of the water, hence an extra star. But still, one of the tables in the reading area was broken and wobbly, thus rendering it unusable. We brought this to the attention of reception, again to no avail.

So for a 4 star hotel, this is at best best 2 star service. We won't recommend it.
