Visited the Christmas markets in Dusseldorf and decided to stay at McDreams, honestly cant fault the place. It's about 2 miles from the city centre but has plenty of parking. Prices are amazing. Rooms are small, clean and have all the mod cons (including Sky and Netflix). Staff are very friendly and more than helpful. Food can be obtained from the cafe on the ground floor, I generally have nothing bad to say about the place, I would honestly visit McDreams again.

The breakfast was good and the location was good, ten minutes walk from the main fire of Duse, the hotel is on the subway, but the room is really small, really small, really small! And the bathroom decoration is average! Obviously the decoration of other hotels in Germany for 60 euros a night! It's only good to look outside, we regret it when we enter the room! Really not worth the price!

The hotel overall is cheap yet when I compare to other experiences it lacks maintenance. I chose this hotel due to being relatively close to my business needs and was chosen by my team assistant. One night stay and I found it all. First I arrived late (10:30-11:00) to the hotel as stated in my booking and I found the main entrance locked I had to keep calling the number from the booking which is similar to google stated number but no one picked up, I had to keep buzzing in the intercom till the door was opened. Entrance wasn’t taken care of with a lot of tree leaves then I met the receptionist who seemed like being just awake from sleep. Second comes the room, which in size terms is fairly ok for one person stay and was clean including the bathroom, yet the bed is an awful experience to sleep on. Third comes breakfast next day where the two gentleman (the receptionist and his colleague) seemed attending to! The breakfast itself was very limited in choices and the quantities were fairly low in the buffet. I’d say the hotel overall wouldn’t be in my first three choices if I ever have to go to Düsseldorf again.

When I booked the hotel I was a bit apprehensive as the price was so low. However I had nothing to fear and on alighting from the tram I could see the hotel a few metres away. The single room was very spacious and offered a large comfortable bed with all the usual amenities - HD TV with a multitude of channels, large opening windows, wardrobe and lots of space. The downside in the room was the bathroom was very small although it was well appointed and the shower was powerful. The lift was very small and slow, but apart from these two negatives the rest was very positive. The staff were very friendly and at breakfast were always on hand to offer assistance. The breakfast buffet itself was excellent and was included in the room price 4 tram routes, a Metrobus and various other bus routes stop at the terminus just outside the hotel and will get you to the Hauptbahnhof in 15 minutes or to the shopping area or Altstadt in 20 minutes. At weekend they operate 24 hours. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will certainly stop there again if the price is similar.

I stayed in this hotel in September 2019 and liked it a lot. If you are looking for a hotel with basic necessities, this hotel shoudl fit you well. The hotel was within a walking distance from our client's facilities, which was the main reason for my booking. The hotel turned out to be a very pleasant experience. Kind of family run hotel. My room was on 2nd floor, big balcony, relatively big room with all basic necessities. Hotel breakfast was also very good. I had some minor difficulties finding the second hallway, since there was no direct access from the hotel reception to the stairway which led to my room, so I spent an extra 10 minutes trying to figure out where to go. Also, there are only few restaurants near the hotel, so maybe a car would be helpful. Will I stay here the next time I am working with out client? Absolutely. Really liked the atmosphere.

I booked this last minute, when our flight was cancelled. I have to say, when we arrived, we were extremely warmly welcome by the reception staff and Cariña in the bar. Waiting for our rooms, we managed an early check-in. Would personally like to thank the team there and the complimentary coffees and fruit in the morning was a nice touch before we left. Great location and tremendous quality

First reaction was: "Oh!, big road and tramway just outside! Instant skepticism! But that was never a problem at all, no noise inside. Small private hotel, owners did everything themselves. They were "over the top" helpful and very nice. We stayed there for 8 nights for a vacation/visiting Boot-2019. We had a room with "Winter garden" and I would recommend that. Spacious room. Room was very clean and the bed was perfect for me. Most hotel beds are too soft, some too hard but this was just like home, perfect. Still that is a matter of taste of course. Breakfast was very good and I am sure that if you have special requests they will do their utmost to accommodate you. The photos on their website and on are accurate. Rooms are just as shown on photos. The hotel oozes of welcoming comfort. If you want a big international hotel with piano-bar and boutique styling this is not for you! The hotel is situated in the outskirts of Düsseldorf but the hotel issued us with tram/bus passes for the duration of our stay so we could use trams/tube/buses for free. Very practical. Just a few minutes with tram to center of town. Smart to open Google maps in nav. mode if using a taxi to the hotel. There are some one-way streets to be navigated and many taxi drivers do not know the way. Negative things? Well you are bound to feel sad when you leave because leaving feels like parting with friends. And you would most likely start to speculate about finding excuses for a new visit!

Stayed at Moxy Dusseldorf South and paid 142 Euros for one night in a large room for 3 persons.  Room: The room was very spacious. It is about double size than the standard room. It was very clean and new. The bed was super comfy. There was enough space. The design was good, even though it would have been good to have a table in the living room. The bathroom was functional. The sofa in the living room could turn into a bed. Whilst the bed was very comfortable, the bed couch was hard as stone. There are no real amenities in the room (no coffee making set, no glasses, toilet amenities). This is not an issue, just to be aware of. Good soundproof.  Hotel: Very nice design and layout in the "lobby". Nice atmosphere and nice Moxy principles, it all worked out fine and very positive impression.  Location: In Dusseldorf South. I did not need to be in the area, but there is a U Bahn and some shops and restaurants in the vicinity. Parking is 10 Euros.  Personnel: Everyone was very friendly and helpful.  Breakfast: This was a pleasant surprise. It was 12 Euros and a very good and high-quality selection. The scrambled egg maker was really cool. I really recommend taking the breakfast. All in all, was very satisfied with my stay!

Some of the reviews of this hotel didn't seem favourable so we didn't know what to expect! We were greeted nicely at reception, and quickly run through the check in procedure then given the key to our room. The path to our room wasn't simple as we had to go up then down two floors but it was no hardship and we found our room quite easily. Our room seemed accessible by stairs down so perhaps anyone with mobility issues were given other more accessable rooms. At first glance the room look dated but on closer inspection all the furniture looked pretty new, ample seating with a fully stocked mini bar / fridge. The room had central heating and air conditioning as well. The room sported a safe to keep valuables in and a wardrobe, multiple power sockets, phone, TV and even a free TV magazine. Free mints await you each day and free tea and coffee too. The double bed had two single duvets ( great to defeat that duvet hogging partner in your life!). Its also very comfortable and coupled with the black out curtains we slept for eternity!! There is storage for luggage and a clock radio too on one side if the bed. Lots of information for the Dusseldorf region is left for your purusal in the guest pack in the room. Bathroom is lovely. Amenity kit with sewing kit, shoe polishing kit and shower cap, shampoo / shower gel, ample soft towels and a shower that doesn't leak all over the floor but has good pressure and copious hot water. The hotel was easy to find. Its only a 5-10 minute tram ride into the centre but we like to walk and stop along the way and we walked it in about 40 minutes. Our room was situated at the side so it was quiet only with a very faint sound if traffic that didn't disturb us in any way. We didn't choose breakfast here as I thought over nine euro each was expensive and instead we stopped at a great little bakery five min walk away. There is also a Netto supermarket five mins away too where you can stock up on supplies! In summary, we would come here again. Its very good value, not too far from the centre, quiet, clean, comfortable with good facilities.

I would call Ibis the motel six of European city hotels. It is basic. But their personnel manager does a great job. He hires employees who are friendly, have a personality, respond helpfully if you ask whether there is a Chinese Restaurant nearby, and etc. It is basic and small. But on this trip, I was admiring how they had incorporated features like the desk and bench so they take up as little space as possible. There are plenty of power outlets where you need them. I give them five dots for doing what they do superbly well.

The good: The area is very quiet. I found the bed quite firm and comfortable. Good public transport links. Free parking and no green badge required. The curtains are thick and block light. The shower was great. The staff were helpful. The not so good: I felt the upgraded room wasn't worth price. Being garden side makes no difference to noise. The room was very warm. This will be great in winter but not summer! It had full opening doors but at night this meant you couldn't draw curtains. We also bought Dusseldorf cards through the hotel, but rather than waiting till we arrived, these were activated from 3pm of our day of arrival so we lost time on these(we arrived 9pm!). So if you want a quiet hotel with good transport links and without the problems of taking a car into the city centre, this hotel is good but don't bother paying for the upgraded rooms.

satisfaction! Hotel parking is more expensive! 20 minutes walk from the train station and the city! There are many Europeans in the hotel. The parking lot is very convenient on the third floor and the large supermarket on the first floor is very convenient for life!

I had 25 people traveling in from all over the world for to participate in the Allegheny Technologies Incorporated Leadership Development Program for managers. I had several options available to choose from between Dusseldorf and Cologne and I'm thankful I chose the InterContinental Hotel in Dusseldorf. I worked with Miriam Roettger in the sales department for two months leading up to the event and she was so helpful. Working via email when there is a 7 hr. time difference, cultural differences and language challenges can be a bit overwhelming; however, Miriam made this seamless. I arrived ahead of my group and check in was very quick and extremely friendly. The rest of my group whom were flying in from all over Europe had their flights canceled due to bad weather. I worked with the hotel to ensure this delay wouldn't impact our participants when they were in deed to arrive. Management was wonderful to work and assured me our participants would have a room upon their arrival. Both Mohammed Bouskri and Thomas Krieger from the Concierge desk were outstanding to work with and very attentive to our needs. They helped arranged transportation from the airport for our participants, recommended restaurants and helped make reservations. I wouldn't have been able to provide such a world class experience for our leaders without the help of Miriam, Mohammed or Thomas. I'd be remiss if i didn't mention the front desk service, everyone was so nice, kind and helpful. A very wonderful experience from day 1.

It’s very close to the airport and it’s a five-minute walk. It’s very convenient to take a rest for a night if you are connecting. There is a supermarket on the arrival floor of the airport, which is convenient for shopping. The hotel has a restaurant, but one was opened during the epidemic. The original Japanese restaurant is not open anymore. .

Pros - -Everything very clean -Large room -Good location -Friendly staff Negatives -Concierge wasn't very proactive. I first asked for a restaurant recommendation by the river and was told to go to the Grill House which was no where near the river. Second asked to book a specific Thai restaurant. It wasn't available which of course isn't there fault. But I wasn't given any other recommendations and just told it wasn't available. I would have at least expected them to offer some suggestions proactively. - The Maître D' at the lounge/restaurant was quite rude. He wouldn't even let me up the steps until i showed him my room key even after explaining I was a hotel guest and was simply trying to get to room. He physically blocked my entrence. It was very off putting and not at all welcoming. He apologised once I showed him a room key. -Room technology is showing its age and not working correctly. Room is controlled by touch screens of which only 1/2 of worked when we checked in and the other broke on the last night. This meant we couldn't control lighting, curtains and air con, was offered a new room but didn't change due to being 10pm at night. We switched off the room manually using the switch board. This should be checked before guests check in. -Spa and Pool area is bookable at the moment so due to Covid. We booked an hour and slot and somebody else was using the facilitates at the time we booked. No one was manning the door and we didn't want to share a sauna so we left. -Breakfast restaurant was full and we had to sit out in the lobby. I am not sure if all the diners were hotel guests but it would have been nice to give in house guests priority seating first. -No self service coffee was available in the living room due to covid which is totally fine. It would have been nice if the staff member proactively offered coffees and tea as a replacement. Overall it was an okay hotel but nothing special. Having stayed at the Capella in Singapore It definitely doesn't live up to the same standard.

It's very convenient to go to the railway station and King's Road. There is a Japanese restaurant on the opposite side of the hotel. Turn left after you get out of the hotel, and there is a store serving Japanese rice balls worth tasting. The hotel service is warm.
