Immaculate hotel with friendly front reception staff. My room faced the small wadi and was very comfortable. The initial room they had for me had no refrigerator and the manager immediately with no problem moved me to another. Breakfast was basic, nothing special. The whole hotel is immaculate. Nice restaurant next door- well priced- also super clean and friendly. Very popular with locals for take-away - always a good sign. Walkable to the souq- not a great walk since you are next to traffic, but about 10 minutes. Wifi was strong, shower great. I very much liked this hotel and found it one of the best in my stay in Oman.

The room is of adequate size with a big bed. Room amenities are available. The bathroom is big however it needs to be cleaned properly. The TV inside the room is small and far from the bed. The mini fridge is not getting cold even if it is on. It was also a bit noisy as the hotel is located along the highway so we could hear the cars outside. The location of the hotel is good and has easy access to the mall (a few minutes drive) and to other tourist attractions. Friendly staff and service was fast. The breakfast menu is the same everyday. It would be nice to have other varieties of food. The omelette and sausage were a bit oily. This hotel needs a bit of an upgrade to attract more visitors/guests.

Some people do not read whole reviews,so I'll summarise quickly. Mr. Anu is quite possibly the nicest, most accommodating hotelier I have ever met. Professional, knowledgeable with a friendly and welcoming nature thrown in for good measure. His hotel reflects his attributes. The proof. I have stayed here a number of times over the years; always with groups in excess of 80, (students), always calmly, always looked after and accommodated superbly. These reviews are already written. We return year on year, and will continue to do so. I recently visited Muscat and took a day trip to Nizwa fort and the surrounding area for its beauty. My family and I simply popped in to say hello as we were passing by as Mr. Anu has always made a positive impression during our stays. We were greeted with smiles, water and refreshments and asked to stay a while to rest from the glorious, but hot, Omani sun. We chatted and caught up and he asked our plans for the remainder of our time in Muscat. We had some vague ideas but nothing concrete. Here Mr. Anu's knowledge came in. He gave us great ideas, from a clearly informed mind. From popping in to say hi, we left refreshed, with a head full of ideas for Muscat and a trip to the Oman Grand Canyon and a local castle organised for a day later in the week with one of his local guides. He organised this, remember, for a non-guest at the time. So, you already know, from the many other reviews, the excellent condition and calibre of the hotel apartments. I want you to know the man running this place, because guest comfort is paramount. Even an ex guest, walking in off the street, is treated kindly and with hospitality. This high level of care and professionalism is what you get when you stay here. That is why I will always recommend this place, to all who travel to Nizwa. It is exactly where you should base yourself to explore this beautiful area.

Pros: 1. Location is superb with several easy walks to gorgeous viewpoints of the mountains 2. Rooms are large and spacious and a fridge/boiler kettle with coffee/tea is provided. 3. Games room offer a snooker table and chess etc which is good as there is not much to do in the evening. Cons: 1. Breakfast is poor in terms of options and quality. 2. Restaurant is expensive by Omani standards and portions are also smaller than average. Food is not exceptional given the price 3. Wifi is only at reception and is not really reliable (connection is on and off). 3. Reception is not open between 10pm to 8am 4. The hotels' listing at booking.com mentioned that credit cards were allowed as a use of payment but the reception refused to let us pay using credit cards, which is problematic as this is a mountainous area with no ATMs/moneychangers nearby. We later saw that the restaurant has a credit card payment machine and they allowed guests to pay using credit cards. In the end we had to pay using our spending cash, which was not a good experience, as we had not budgeted for paying the hotel in cash.

After arriving in Oman, a further approximately 2.5 hour drive in a 4x4 is undertaken to reach Alila Jabal Akhdar. What may initially seem like a dreary few hours, actually goes smoothly. The cars offered by the hotel for transportation are of good quality - only 4x4's are allowed to go up to the hotel, so please arrange accordingly even if you're looking to hire a car yourself. The journey itself is quite scenic, as you wrap around the mountains. The arrival to to the hotel dispels any boredom/tiredness as you're immediately greeted by some of the most breathtaking views of the mountains. Upon check in, we were given dates and tahini, along with a form of rose coffee (customary in Omani culture). We were shown around the hotel amenities - what was incredible to see was the abundance of local materials being used to construct the hotel. This gave the overall complex a character well suited to it's surroundings. As it was our honeymoon, we were upgraded to a more premium room, that managed to capture the sunrise. The welcome to the hotel really set the positive tone for the next few days of our stay. The room itself was very spacious and the beautiful architecture continued through to these spaces. Our bed was literally the biggest I've ever slept on - it was big enough to fit a family of 4 easily! Both days of our stay we came back after turn down service to hot baths, which was a nice touch. The staff also left hot water bottles in our beds, along with chocolates and a locally made candle using bees wax. As we travelled in February, the evenings tend to get chilly, so the extra warmth was much appreciated! The food options on offer were great - our booking was half board by default, and we also had a lunch included within our package. Breakfast had a small buffet on offer, but was also accompanied by a menu from which you could order full meals. The overall range was ample and had good options. The dinner was either a set menu or individual courses could be selected. This changed between days which was good to see, to avoid repetition. The options were good and the quality of the food was exceptional. Even the lunch we had one day was well put together. All our meals were complimented by the scenery that draped in the background. Our package also included a free facial in the spa, which was a nice experience. The spa itself is nicely assembled, so it is worth checking out. We conducted a hike one day on the "butterfly trail" which remains within the hotel's complex, but is adequate to spend an hour or so on. We also spent some time in the indoor pool which was heated. We didn't make use of the outdoor pool as this time of the year it was slightly cool. Being in the mountains, it's naturally cooler as well so it didn't incentivize us to use the pool. The gym was small, but decent to complete a workout. We took part in the morning yoga class, which is conducted outdoors on the decking, suspended over the mountains - this was splendid

The environment is good, not too close to the airport, on the edge of the airport, but far away from the exit, has to circle a large circle, the plane is landing next to it, eating around and shopping malls are also good, some choice.

The hotel is very clean, and I like the little brother JACK at the front desk very much. His service attitude is very good, the efficiency is very high, and it is perfect! I like this little brother very much. He recommended the Oman taxi-hailing software to me, and arranged for someone to help deliver my luggage to the room. I said there were no slippers, so I arranged it in one minute. Live comfortably. Room hygiene is also great! You can also watch the sea view!

We stayed 2 days in a 2 room apartment on the 7th floor. The staff were friendly and the rooms were very spacious. It's in a very good location. And since Oman is a hot country it's a good thing they have good quality AC's. Maybe the only disadvantage I came across was the bathroom having very little water. I couldnt take a decent shower. Maybe the plumbing in my apartment wasnt properly done, I can't speak for other rooms rented.

I went to Oman for a weekend trip and checked-in to this hotel. Hotel doesn't have enough parking area for their guests but it's adjacent to a public parking. it seems it is located around the residential area. The hotel design is quaint but clean. You'd meet with a fragrant smell upon entering the hotel. Check-in and check out was fast. I got a one bedroom suite. Amenities were provided. The height between floor to ceiling is very low (which makes the space look cramp). Hotel is near a few restaurants, a small grocery store and fruit stall. It's near to the airport so if you don't like waking up because of a plane flying low, this isn't your hotel.

The hotel is great but if use to compare with the one at Dubai then lose a little bit. They didn't provide the bath salt and toothbrush those but I didn't try to ask reception. Maybe they provide when ask. The breakfast buffer is great. A lot of choices. Anyway, is a good place to stay while in Sohar.

This 3* hotel is more like a small resort in itself!! It has a calm, relaxing and a positive environment amidst nature. They circular pool in the middle of the property gives a beautiful view from almost all the rooms (ask for a pool view room as they have 20+ or so rooms that are garden facing/gym facing). The breakfast is included in some room tariff and otherwise they charge around 4OMR for breakfast. The breakfast is a mix of continental, Arabic and Indian. The menu for lunch or dinner and the desserts are delicious. Rooms are well kept, room service is great and the front desk is always there to answer when called for a request. From the sohar port it is about 55kms. Would recommend this hotel to friends traveling to sohar !!

location is excellent, environment and equipment are first ranking of Omam, but a lot of Arabic guests there, as an educated people i can not imagine that how can i speak so loudly to disturb otjer guests at midnight. Worsely there is a door inside the room so isolation and privacy is just a joking, suffering experience
