The staff were lovely and David on reception was very welcoming and looked after us well. The hotel were very helpful in letting us move our dates due to COVID- I will be recommending then to everyone I know going to Amsterdam!

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during our visit in Amsterdam. The hotel is neatly presented, however there are a few aspects we did not find satisfactory: - the noise: we have been given a room on the second floor, right above the main door entrance. All the noises from other guests luggages, car or trolleys were perfectly audible even with all windows being closed (they are not sound proof btw). Same for other guests/Hsk staff members in the corridor. - The shower in the room was not very handy: there was no curtain and while having a shower water was going all over the place. Moreover, there is no porcelain on the floor and we were not feeling comfortable on having a shower without slippers. That being said, the staff has been nice and the bed itself was comfortable.

If you are looking for a personalized experience of Amsterdam look no further! Alex provides a VERY clean and comfortable property in the heart of Amsterdam. I visited as the Corona virus pandemic was surfacing in Europe and Alex was very helpful in providing all the lodgers with any assistance necessary for their trip, not to mention, updates on local mandates or issues we might have for our day. The property was within walking distance to all over Amsterdam proper (we walked everywhere). The rooms are modern and well maintained. Alex had a great breakfast every morning that was incredibly delicious (especially the home-made juice). I can't recommend this place enough! Will stay again!!!

When I arrived at the hotel I was told, I would have booked a room without a window. I could not believe it and I rummaged for my records and, indeed, Booking.com confirmed to me to book a room without a window. So, I could have known, if I had read the confirmation exactly. But honestly, when you book a room, you assume that it has a window, right at the same time you do not question that it has no walls or furniture. It would not occur to any reasonable person to look for or doubt such criteria. There is legislation that requires, at least in Europe, that people's lounges be naturally exposed and that the law requires that the windows be at least 10 or 12% of the floor area. Even prison cells need to have daylight, and in animal law, natural light is provided in lounges. As I write, I am in this storage room, the air conditioning is turned off, as I assumed that their sounds prevented me from sleeping. In half asleep I have calculated how long a person can survive if there is no air supply. Still half asleep, I began to calculate the cubic meters of space and the amount of air a person consumes in an hour, I wanted to know how many hours I can survive in this room. There are about 30 m3 of air a human needs in one hour. I calculated that my room has about 40 m3, which means that the air is used up after about 5/4 hours. An overwhelming feeling came over me and I thought that I had slept for 3 hours and I ran out of bed and pressed the air conditioning, because now I was panicked and thought that this room will become a dying room. The Dream Hotel actually becomes a nightmare hotel. The price for this room is 155.77 euros per night. If you say, Zurich is expensive, but so I can live in Zurich in a new Boutiqhotel with balcony, large windows, small kitchen for 80 to 90 Euros per night. So literally at half price. It is interesting that Geneva and Zurich rank in the cost index as the most expensive cities in the world and Amsterdam takes 11th place. I think after my experience it should be the other way round.

The Asterisk is a lovely, family run hotel in good location. Less than 5min walk to trams and Vijzelgracht metro station. (Took me just over 30mins to get to airport via metro). 10min walk to nice neighbourhood of De Pipj, with lots of shops and restaurants as well as daily market. Hrinrkin museum is 3min walk away, as well as access to canal cruise tour. The hotel itself was very nice, split over 2 buildings. I stayed in annexe at number 20. My room was on 1st floor and overlooked the street. It was a large single. Enough storage for 1 person, may be a little small for 2. Room was very clean, bed was a little too firm for me. Nice bathroom with shower (shower gel, body lotion and soap provided. Kettle and tea/coffee provided. Was delighted with glass of prosecco and hot towel when I arrived, a lovely touch, as well as small gift when I checked out. All the staff were so friendly and nice. On day I left they had just opened a delightful breakfast room. I did order breakfast on first day, it was 7.50 euros, personally I was slightly disappointed with it, and think it could be improved. Overall this is a wonderful little hotel that I would highly recommend

We stayed three nights at Aston City Hotel July 2020 and really enjoyed the great location near the city. The room is small but we didn’t need more space, as we only used the room for sleeping. The internet is rather slow and unstable. The bathroom could use a better ventilation. We stayed in a room with a big window, which gave us the opportunity to open the window. However, some of the rooms have only window to the staircase, hence lagging “fresh “ air. Not the fanciest hotel but great value for money

The location is very convenient, the room size is good, the front desk service is very good, the only drawback is that there is a clear smell of pesticides as soon as the door is inside the room, and then the first night I stayed there by unknown insects. Whole body (mainly concentrated on arms and legs against the wall) bit dozens of bags (not easy to subside, especially extremely itchy, itching for 7 days, easy to break, and now it has been half a month since I returned to China, the seal is still very obvious) There are small black spots and black holes on the wall, which are estimated to be worm holes. After responding to the front desk, he said that it can help us to return the room the next day, but considering that the stay is not long, there is no change and the late stay has special attention to the problem of not leaning against the wall, which is fine. The price is not expensive, but I was bitten by a bag full of flesh. Another thing is that beside the road, next to the traffic lights, when you sleep and drag at night, the traffic lights sound, the sound of cars coming and going is very loud. Location prices are ok. The picture was restored after returning to China for half a month, and it still needs to be restored. The second or third day after being bitten, it looks like dense phobia.

Such a great find. This hotel was in a great location we could walk everyware from it and was also close to the tram stop and a 5 min walk to the bus stop for the airport bus. Views over the canal - so nice to wake up to. The only downside was the bathroom was so tiny and the walls were thin we could hear the people above us. Apart from that the hotel was clean and the beds cosy - would stay again.

Our short (2 week) trip in Amsterdam got extended to 6 weeks! The management and staff bent over backwards to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Helpful, friendly and 100% customer focused, the staff made our stay really feel like a home away from home. Daily cheese platters (with wine), a rotation of sweets (Dutch candies, cookies, etc) and a well-stocked, open bar make the living room gezellig (cozy/comfortable). Location? It doesn't get better. The Mansion is very centrally located (grachtengordel) with easy access to museums, restaurants, bars/cafes and public transportation. Feel like getting around the city more comfortably? The Banks Mansion can rent you a bicycle, too. We travel to Amsterdam 3-4 times a year (excluding COVID chaos times), and this hotel will DEFINITELY be where we stay, and we are recommending it to all our friends. This is the first time I have posted a review of a hotel. This is the first time the experience motivated me to share with others - it's THAT GOOD. Forget the "big name hotels." Stay here and have a MUCH better experience, delivered by the "Banks Family."

The hotel is fully renovated and the result is stunning! The room is perfect and has everything you need. WiFi is great throughout the whole hotel. The staff is very friendly and willing to help with anything. The hotel is in the middle of the city center. Although there are many restaurants on walking distance, I can definitely recommend the lunch (and drinks) in the Coffee Boutique. Nice food, good coffee, friendly staff and located on the best spot of Amsterdam! We will definitely come back!

When booking the hotel, both of my friends and my friends clearly saw that it stated on Ctrip that it was less than two kilometers from Amsterdam Central Station. As a result, when I got off the train and looked at the map, I was about to leave the city of Amsterdam. The traffic was very inconvenient! ! ! It's really inconvenient! ! It takes more than an hour to get to the city center every day. The hotel is remote. If you plan to spend late in the city center every day, the suggestion is to book a hotel near the city. The night is a bit scary.

The Moevenpick Hotel offers a great view over the old town and is convenient accessable by train, tram, ship and car. I arrive on a rainy morning and was please with the friendly welcome by the Fornt Office Manager Mr. John Caucian who went the extra mile to make me feel special. This is very rare these days in a big hotel. He explained the Corona meassures, gave me tips for the town and a arranged a dining table and took time explain the views from my room in the 18th floor and the use the gym. All in a very polite and charming way. Next morning I got a personal welcome from the Manager during my breakfast. This personal service make me feel very special. Together with the clean and comfi room and for sure makes me coming back next time. Well done - Top service, great rooms and a very good location.

Overall, the hotel is nice and well located, surrounded by the main museums. There is plenty space in the bedroom. The furnituries are new as well as the bed, bed clothes and comforters. I would say that the room where I stayed was bad illumintated. My only complain is that the hotel did not enforcement what his staff said to me about the breakfast price. It was offered to me for 8 euros per person per day. When I made my check out I was obliged to pay 18 euros per person per day. To me it seems to be a normal practise at that hotel, since I did not see any token saying the breakfast price. Be aware too, when you are making your check out, the hotel will charge city taxe of you. In my case I had to pay 50 euros.

The location of the hotel is good. It is about a minute walk from the tram stop (No. 17), but the location is not in the city center, and it is quite convenient to take the tram. The service staff is very good and provide a lot of assistance. The breakfast provided by the hotel is also good, with a variety of drinks and bread. Since we only have one day of accommodation, we asked if we could leave our luggage when we checked out, and the hotel would be happy to help provide space for us! This is great! No need to run around with your luggage! It ’s just that some of the hot water bottles in the room do n’t work, and the bathroom hair dryers do n’t work either. But overall the price is very high! Cheap and convenient! If you come to Amsterdam next time, you should still stay here! Pretty recommended! The room is quite big overall!

Booked the Serre Bib Gourmand package, for a wonderful dinner at Serre and a stay at the Okura Hotel. From the moment the valet parked our car until we picked it up again, we had a superb stay. Wonderful staff, great room with amenities, fantastic hotel facilities. We had something to celebrate and were surprised by a very kind present delivered by room service. It's this level of detail that makes the difference. Very delighted the hotel pool and spa were open again ( a booking is needed). Dinner at Serre was great. Breakfast at La Camelia was delicious. My wife and I also attended the origami workshop, which was great fun. it was concluded with a behind the scenes tour of the Yamazoto restaurant. We must come back here and eat and Ciel Blue is also still high on my list. All in all a five star review, I can highly recommend this hotel!

I had another short break at the start of March in Amsterdam and once again stayed at this wonderful hotel. As always my stay was flawless from start to finish. The reception staff were so welcoming and friendly and my check in was handled swiftly and efficiently. Every member of staff, from my contact booking the room, the concierges, breakfast staff and even staff in passing are so helpful and cheerful. My room was immaculate and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable and an excellent bed. Every amenity has been thoughtfully taken care of. The hotel could not be better located for staying in Amsterdam. Although right on busy and lively Dam Square, once inside it is tranquil and elegant throughout. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. I am looking forward to returning very soon when the current travel restrictions are no longer in place. I wish everyone at the Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky well at this difficult time.
