Was there for a night. Very basic hotel. The breakfast have to book in advance. We took the dim sum. Came with a small bottle of orange juice. It food was cold. No hair dryer provided. Overall the morning shift staff was very good and friendly. Speak good English too. They have car park available.

Fantastic hotel! It's near to the city centre, but not noisy. When we arrived the little old lady was very keen to show us her new restaurant kitchen (of which she is very proud), so I obliged & went to have a quick look. The bedrooms are clean & spacious. I wasn't sure whether to book at Usabuy as there are some negative comments on the reviews, but there are NO bad tempered dogs in the street and the place is very clean. The bathroom looks as if it has been tiled recently. The staff were all very friendly and efficient.

GF stayed here about a month prior for work and thought very nice. We stopped on way back after work week and an unfortunate death in her family. The rooms are very clean and bed was comfortable. However, the air conditioning didn't work properly. We bought food to have on arrival and just wanted to heat. Something we've done almost every hotel along this 10 day trip. The man at counter was not helpful at all. Pretended to not know anything about the hotel or the immediate area. Is what it is. Next time will try a different one as in this category there are many options.

I met the owner 10 yrs ago when I was walking just for sightseeing. There are many local small hotels and guest houses around. The lady/the owner humbly invited me to look around in case for next time if I could visit. Since then with every 2 yrs, I made there as my hotel destination both with family and friends. However, the right word for me here is ”home”. Many thanks to Uncle Shinn, Nong Kwang & Nong Moo who always treat me and make me feel it home. ***Incredible southern cuisine, & great spicy fusion. Trang is a sleepy rural town in southern Thailand that doesn’t have a huge amount to commend it; true, it is the home of the first ever rubber tree to enter Thailand, is well-known for its dim sum and particular style of a very tasty crispy pork - but It also possesses a one-way system which would baffle a London taxi driver and, once finally negotiated, bizarrely displays a sign stating ‘Trang Bypass Route this way’…. Having said that, it is certainly an excellent place for an overnight stop when motoring to or from Malaysia, and - having done it a few times now – I can certainly recommend the Ban Ao Thang hotel. Right in the centre of town adjacent to the railway station, it has masses of free parking outside and gives easy access to the local markets – and KFC! The rooms are basic rural Thai; somewhat depressing in decor but extremely clean and comfortable. What makes this hotel, however, is the bar life and restaurant. Situated on the veranda, the staff can mix an incredible array of cocktails, provide extremely well cooked food from a surprisingly large menu and – if that was not enough – entertain you with a one man band! The staff are of course extremely polite and obliging – as is generally the case in Thailand – and it is worth having a look at the contents of the hotels wine collection, another area of interest in this remarkable little hotel. Go - you won’t be disappointed.

Very nice hotel with modern and clean facilities. most important was the great service and hospitality, especially K Phojanaluck at the reception.. she seems to be there all the time, ever ready to help with advice, speaks good English, always with a smile. She is a great ambassador for the hotel. It was low season, so understand that the breakfast spread was reduced, but the quality of the food and service was certainly not compromised. Location was very good... 5 min walk to the nearest mall with wide selection of food. Tallest building in the area... So great view to wake up to. Highly recommended!
