0.06km from Bar BertoWe spent two nights here and the location can't be beat. Steps away from restaurants, landmarks and everything we could want to see. The room itself was very modern and sparking clean. My only complaint was that it felt a dark even with all of the lights on. Would both recommend to others and stay here again though.

0.36km from Bar BertoThe hotel is located in an alley and is in the process of refurbishment. Had an early checking and the lobby was a huge mess, they were rebuilding. Proper apologies were made and (this was true) by evening time all was clean and done. Had a room on the second floor, across the elevator. Asked if there were many guests/rooms are proper isolated and maybe (if possible) I could get a room further down the hall. Rooms were proper isolated and it was not busy but the host still insisted in me having another room. So I got another room. The room was accessible by keycode (same as the 'night' door). This was (due to the renovation) all recently installed and my code did not work. The host came up entered another code and I could enter. By evening all was arranged. Room itself is not that big (but good enough and common in city center area). All amenities are available. Fresh towels every day but no (shower)cream. No minibar but a tea/coffee maker was available. Wi-Fi is fast enough. All in all good value for money. Can't judge about the breakfast, due to the renovation we could not have breakfast in the hotel. We got a voucher with eligibility of (only) 6 euros or water bottle, small juice, coffee/cappuccino, focaccia/croissant and yoghurt. Don't you like sweet breakfast: too bad than this isn't your thing (just as for me). Atmosphere in those places is nice though and espresso was good

0.39km from Bar BertoWonderful hotel in an old palazzo. Perfect location for walking to the major attractions of Genoa (the aquarium and waterfront, the many palazzos along Via Garibaldi, Palazzo Reale, etc. Rooms are modern, spacious and well equipped and the breakfast was excellent, with changing homemade pastries and breads every day. Service was excellent as well - when we found our showerhead broken they fixed it in an hour and brought us a gift of a panettone to apologize for any inconvenience. I will only add one caution for those of more delicate sensibilities. To get to some of the attractions (especially up to Via Garibaldi), you will need to navigate some of the narrow, old alleys/streets that have a bit of a ... reputation. Yes, we did walk past women lingering outside who seemed to be of a particular occupation and some gentlemen who might have dealt in the trade of certain substances. But none of them bothered us at all, I never felt in any risk or danger, just do as the locals do and walk along to your destination. I would still not hesitate to stay here again on a future trip to Genoa.
0.39km from Bar BertoThe Theatrum provides a great place for travelers to relax after a busy day. The Theatrum offers a pleasant stay in Genoa for those traveling for business or leisure. The hotel is only 1km from Genova Brignole Railway Station and 10km from Cristoforo Colombo Airport, giving guests a number of convenient transportation options. Transportation around the city is also convenient, with De Ferrari Station Metro Station within walking distance. With Via Roma, Chiesa di San Filippo Neri and Giovine Orchestra Genovese all within a short distance, there is no shortage of things to do in the area. When guests have some time on their hands they can make use of the onsite facilities.
0.4km from Bar BertoLoved this hotel. Its very modern in styling but the building itself is old. We asked the hotel to arrange a taxi to meet us at the airport, he was waiting at arrivals and helped us with luggage. He took us as close as he could, then insisted on helping again to carry cases and show us the hotel. You actually check in in a hotel opposite. Excellent staff, helpful and friendly. The hotel is accessed via cards for the outer door, then the elevator, then your room. It felt very safe. The rooms are simple. We are travelling and use packing cubes but anyone wanting to unpack in a normal way may struggle. We had a triple, a large double downstairs and our son had a single on a mezzanine. Room was very quiet. There was a safe on our mezzanine. The AC was efficient, bathroom excellent. There is a small communal living area with tables, sofas and tea/coffee making facilities and biscuits in the afternoon. There is also a water machine with still or sparkling water with glasses and carafes to fill. Housekeeping excellent.Rooms very clean. Breakfast! Truly one of the best buffets I have seen, just about anything was presented and rapidly refilled before empty. Excellent! To leave , we again asked the hotel to arrange a taxi, I think the best option. Only negative , is that whilst Genoa in general is a place to be very streetwise, there were a couple of very sketchy alleyways to the north and east of the hotel. OK in day time, but best avoided at night. We did use them though at night but avoided afterwards, you get to know the better alleys! Don't let this put you off, the hotel otherwise is in an amazing central position, and I doubt its much different elsewhere.
0.44km from Bar BertoThe room is very spacious, the price is not high but it is also in the downtown area, you can walk anywhere. There is a big balcony, and the toiletries are better. Overall, good value for money

Hotels Near Bar Berto In Genoa Review
Been there for a few days, sharing a big room with friends and that's ok. 3 bathrooms plus a washbasin room in the corridor within...50 people? Mainly clean (room is not clean - got dust 'cats' under by bed ). Ther funny stuff was some underwear abandoned for days to dry. In the kitchen it is well written "food found without a name and room number will be throwen away" but nothing mentioned for the clothing. Perfect central position, I would recomment it. Breakfast is provided, you just have to prepare it and wash your dishes. And many people don't understand that the wooden 'tray' close to the sink is a chopping board, and not a place where to let dry the cleaned stuff. Curious. Other curious fact is that not all the people working there speak Italian. Is it Italy?
The location is very good. Just near the aquarium. There is a supermarket and breakfast shop 100 meters to the right of the hotel. The room we stayed in was the open window and the sea. It was really close to the lively place on the seaside in Genoa. It was about three minutes walk from the aquarium.
Genoa was a stopover to Milan for a temporary stop. There was no requirement for the hotel, but StarWorld Hotel exceeded expectations. The room is large, the decoration is also decent, the keys are very old, with too heavy, you can leave to stay at the hotel. Continental breakfast is not bad. I didn't go shopping in Genoa, so I don't know much about the city.
Our flight got cancelled and we called up the Genova Liberty Hotel where we'd been staying. Unfortunately they were out of rooms but offered to ask Soana. There words were "it's not quite so nice but it's clean". To be fair to Soana, the rooms are a bit old, the furniture is a bit on the older side but it was clean, decent en suite, comfy bed, air con and the people were extremely kind. It's so grim when your flight gets cancelled but we were greeted, shown the room, the owner printed out our new boarding passes for us as well and even though it would have been really easy for them to have bumped up the price because we were stuck and had nowhere to go, it was really reasonable. If you're travelling on a budget, you could certainly do far worse and you couldn't fault the hospitality.
The room is very spacious, the price is not high but it is also in the downtown area, you can walk anywhere. There is a big balcony, and the toiletries are better. Overall, good value for money
The hotel is very close to the airport, not far from the metro and train station. It's convenient to eat nearby. There are several Chinese restaurants. The room was cleaned and the breakfast was plentiful. Especially the boss, President Zhao, is considerate and very familiar with the local people and gives you good suggestions for travel.
We have just come back from a mini week end in Genova. We stayed at Hôtel de Ville (why not Hotel de la Ville?). The hotel is new and it is located in two floors of an old Palazzo modernly restores just in front of the old harbor. This area has become in the last years one of the best in town, with the famous aquarium, restaurants, cinemas...The streets of the elegant shoppingare 10 minutes walk away while the famous Vicoli (the little streets of the old town) are just behind. The hotel is all decorated in beige, grey and brown tones and all around there is a beautiful collection of travel posters and affiches (if they are all original they must have cost a fortune)! Our room was huge and comfortable with a beautiful view on the harbor. Of course there is the “sopraelevata” (a busy and noisy highway) in between but the soundproof is excellent. Breakfast was ok. We went with a Smartbox and the voucher included an Aperitivo, which was tasty. But why not having a simple crodino,in Italy?
Hotel Cantore was lovely, just exactly what we wanted, well placed for access to Genoa and surroundings and the hotel staff were very welcoming and generous with their time to help us find our way around. Very clean, comfortable and good value for money. My sister and I came to Genoa for a concert and the theatre was just round the corner from the hotel which is why we picked it initially but we would definitely stay there again if/when we visit Genoa again.
We arrived very late due to a flight delay and Maurizio was there to meet us. The taxi dropped us right outside the building and the entrance was by buzzer. The foyer and lift were very quaint and took us to the forth floor. The apartment itself was spacious with two bedrooms and a kitchen area. We stayed with another couple so had the whole apartment to ourselves. The rooms where tastefully decorated and bathrooms modern. The very large windows with shutters overlooked the port of Genoa which had amazing views. The breakfast was adequate for my sweet tooth however it would have been nice to have something savoury for those who don’t like sweet things first thing. The area of the port had a few bars and restaurants which close around 11pm. Genoa is a lovely labyrinth of streets and plenty of sites to see.
The hotel is very near to the train station, however the hotel street is very quiet, so you almost forget about that.
The room had plenty of space and was clean. Good value for the price, would stay more nights.
Excellent modern mini suites in a renovated building just across the road from the Principe train station and on the main street to the historic centre, about 10 mins walk away. (Palazzo Real is on the same street). Entrance to the hotel, like many of the other old buildings is very narrow so take care not to miss it. Surrounded by cafes and restaurants but still pretty quiet. We had a separate bedroom linked to a small sitting area with a super large armchair, desk, mini fridge and tea and coffee making facilities and even a couple of biccies. Bed and pillows were really comfortable. Bathroom was also reasonable size with modern fittings, a shower cubicle (no bath) and complimentary shower gel and body lotion. A buffet breakfast is usually available for 7 euro we were told but was closed due to covid. This was not an issue as there is a decent cafe next door and several others to choose from close by as well. My only criticism was that there was no heating in the room. We could only get the air con to blow out cold air and as it was pretty chilly and wet during our stay, we could really have done with a bit of warmth.
We booked this B&B via Hotels.com upon our mid-day arrival on a Friday at Genoa Piazza Principe train station, and enjoyed a leisure stroll through the historic center until we reached La Piazzetta Rooms around 4:00 p.m. The main door was locked, but a telephone number and free Wi-Fi passcode were clearly displayed on the door. This was very fortunate because our only way to call was using our iPad with just Wi-Fi. We were informed there was a mixup in our reservation, but someone would meet us at La Piazzetta Rooms in 20 minutes to rectify the situation. When the owners arrived they explained that La Piazzetta Rooms was fully booked long before the weekend, but Hotels.com (Expedia) neglected to update their database and should not have allowed us to book a room. Marco and Inna were very apologetic and assured us they could find a room at another B&B around the corner at no additional cost. While Marco made the arrangements, Inna graciously invited us to the breakfast room where she served us expresso and cookies. This gave us an opportunity to view their beautiful B&B, which was very clean, attractive, and tastefully decorated. We enjoyed a delightful chat with Marco and Inna, who are very friendly and personable, and they walked us to the other B&B and pointed out local history along the way. They remained with us while we checked in to make sure we were satisfied. We look forward to experiencing a delightful stay and hospitality at La Piazzetta Rooms next time we visit Genoa!
Great place to stay in Genova! The bed was comfortable, they had the best shower with water jet on the side and music, AC was great in Summer time, they provide tea and biscotti, the room is big and is located close to restaurants and foccacerias. They gave us great tips for places we could eat and visita and Nicholas even gave us a ride to the train station on the last day. He is a great host and made me enjoy even more my stay in Genova.
The breakfast is less than the type but the service is very good. The stairs are very beautiful. The location is next to the subway station Ferrari Square. It is surrounded by a commercial street. The location is very convenient.
We stayed for 4 nights at BB Tube. We had the room with balcony which was great to come back to after a day out and have a drink. The room was excellent. The host, Luigi, was such a nice man, he can advise you on where to visit and where to eat out for a reasonable cost. The B&B is close to the train station which is good for getting around. There are electric blinds on the windows which cut out any noise. Luigi told us about an old rack train which goes to Casella which was nice. The volabus takes you from the airport to Brignole train station. If you are at the front exit of Brignole train station looking out at bus stops and trees then turn right keeping the building close to you, after a coffee shop there is a tunnel covered in graffiti. Walk to the end where there are steps on the left and opposite is a lift which takes you up to road level, come out of lift follow the road up on the left to a zebra crossing, cross it and BB is just up on your right. Breakfast was very good too. Enjoy your stay.
I stayed at B&B Albaro for 3 nights over Christmas with my mother and 3 children aged 7, 9 and 12. As the B&B only has three bedrooms, we were lucky to have the place to ourselves (there was space enough for one more adult). The Apartment is beautifully decorated and very clean with modern bathrooms (one of which is rather small but sufficient). We were well looked after by both Francesca and Elena. Breakfast was delicious, fresh and beautifully presented. We have been to Genova on many occasions and have stayed at a flagship 5 Star Hotel in the City Centre in the past. Especially when travelling with children, B&B Albaro proved to be a much more economical and nicer alternative. The residential neighbourhood is very safe and there are some lovely restaurants within easy walking distance and the sea equally close by. I can wholeheartedly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting Genova!
Lovely boutique hotel few minutes walk from the Central train station. Barbara and Anna were very helpful and friendly and spoke some English. The rooms are spacious and Everything was clean wooden floor so no musky carpets thankfully. The elevator is from the first floor. The street is lined with restaurants. The Palace and the churches are just a few minutes away. In all we had a fab time as we were walking every where and loving every moment of it.
Il Genovino was superb. The room was quiet, large, with excellent facilities, very comfortable bed and a range of 3 pillows each. The a/c and wifi were very efficient. Didn't try the tv but the remote had netflix and youtube on it. There was a usb charging socket next to the bed. Breakfast was delicious with cereal/focaccia/huge croissants/cake/juice/yoghhurt/cheese/ham set out, and coffee however you want it made in the shared kitchen (there are 3 rooms in total , ours had a small balcony with chairs/table ) with the delightful owner Anna (or a friend) onsite at breakfast time. Anna was very helpful with good advice about how to get to places and where to eat. Initially we thought it further from the historic centre than we had imagined from maps, but it is only a few minutes by cheap and frequent bus from just outside the apartment building to the central sights. Taxis are easy to call too. It is in a very safe residential area with several small supermarkets and good restaurants very close and a lot of excellent restaurants a pleasant 10 minute walk away in Albaro Arena, so we were very pleased we stayed there rather than in the busy centre.
This a perfect B&B close to the station and Piazza Ferrari. The B&B is clean and has excellent views of the old town Genoa and the sea.My Hosts were always available to assist. This is a classy B&B. in a beautiful city
We stayed here for our fourth anniversary- was a lovely hotel. Quality room. Friendly and helpful staff. Very central. Perfect for exploring the old town and the beautiful palaces. Highly recommended.
Good hotel close to Genova train station and only a 5-10 minute walk to the center. The room was clean, enough space and the bathroom was fine. Check in was a bit strange. A few days before we arrived we got a message via booking.com from the ower with the question what time we should arrive at the hotel. We send our arrival time and we got a message back the check in time was (as stated on booking.com) at 6 PM. We didn't understand why the owner wanted to know our arrival time then. As 6 PM is quite late for us we were ok with check in in at 6 PM but when we arrived at 4 PM didn't expect to find the hotel closed. For us check in is something different than a closed front door. So we couldn't drop off our suit cases and explore the city (as we thought would be possible and check in at 6 PM). We had some drinks in a bar nearby and went back at 5. Luckly the owner was arrived and we could drop off our suitcases in the room. So keep in mind you can only enter the hotel at 6 PM and you cannot drop off your suitcases before that time. Maybe a tip for the owner to mention this.
It was convenient in front of the station. The room was also cleaned every day, and I was able to use it comfortably. There are a lot of amenities, and there are services that you can get without a toothbrush, so I think the service is good. Breakfast was good as it was, but I got bored with no changes in the menu. The
This hotel was in an excellent location -- a 10 minute walk from the train station through a shopping district, and 10 minutes to the main Ferrari Piazza. The hotel did allow us to check in early which was very kind, but there was some confusion about the prepayment of our booking through Expedia which was a bit frustrating. The hotel room was clean and modern with high ceilings painted with a mock fresco. The room has a mini fridge stocked with two bottles of complimentary water, along with a TV, wardrobe, free WiFi, luggage racks, and a simple but spacious bathroom. The best part about this hotel is the excellent continental breakfast served each morning which included a full spread of croissants and toast with jam/nutella/peanut butter/etc., eggs, selection of meat and cheese, torte, yogurt, whole fruit, juice, and coffee. You can help yourself to whatever you would like, and there is lots of seating available. The staff clean up your table after you finish. Besides the confusion with the hotel check-in, we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a hotel with the comforts similar to a typical North American hotel with some added charm and a hearty breakfast.

I am really enthusiastic about this hotel. Stay there if you can! Stayed here with a group of students - they had the 8 bed apartment and as teachers we had single rooms. The Hotel is centrally located - about a ten minute walk from the main station and is on a safe and historical street. The rooms are great - a good size with showers and all the usual facilities. They are clean, comfortable and have character being painted in the style of different artists. There are a couple of social areas that are amazingly decorated. Wifi is fast. Breakfast is wonderful - nothing hot but a huge range of other things from cold meats and cheese through to warm croissants and breads. The best thing about the Hotel though is that it is family run and the husband wife and daughter team are amazing hosts. Nothing is too much trouble and they give out really good information about the city and where to go to eat and what to see. Our trip would not have been as great had it not been for their help. We are hoping to visit again next year - this is a really great small hotel! Oh - and it is on the third floor of an old palace with really Genoese views from the windows - there is a lift!!
Super clean place with a nice bed and extra’s that would fit in a high end hotel. Valeria is warm personality who knows how to serve hospitallity. She won’t be around the place, but is available anytime if you let her know. Breakfast was perfect. She asked for special requests and will spoil you with whatever you like. The place is located very central. The building is super old, just like the rest of the city. But nicely renovated. The room has AC and heating. Even floorheating in the bathroom. Nice flatscreen in the room and Kitchen. Don’t expect big Windows with a view. But if you go outside there is enough to see! The weekend I stayed here there where Some loud guest in the room next to us. So bring your earplugs.
We are a family from Hong Kong. My husband, son and I like this hotel very much. It is clean and tidy. If you are a Chinese or Hong Kong traveler, you must receive this hotel. Although the front desk staff is very busy, it is very helpful and friendly
