We stayed here on our way from Venice to Bari. The hotel has ample parking around it. The receptionists were polite and professional during check in and check out. The rooms were tidy, clean and comfortable. The hotel does not have a restaurant but does offer optional breakfast. There are shops and restaurants just a short walk away. Overall a very pleasant stay.

We stayed here for 5 nights in early September and had a wonderful time - the hotel is generally quiet and well positioned as others have mentioned. Near to the essential sights in this rather charming town. Handy for restaurants and cafes, shopping and transport links for buses and trains. The hotel is run by two very helpful and friendly women. Although the reception is not manned 24 hours it doesn't really need to be. The public rooms are elegant and spacious as was our room. Breakfast on the terrace was terrific as we were very lucky with the weather. The only puzzle was the relatively poor breakfast on offer - totally out of keeping with this wonderful place. Not a deal breaker and would not stop us returning which we are very keen to do.

I had a good experience staying here. The rooms were clean and the bed was a little bigger than the usual hotel bed in Italy. The room was an adequate size. My wife and I enjoyed the free breakfast. And the cappuccino was made perfectly. I would stay here again if I come to Ravenna. Finally the staff was friendly and the night desk clerk gave us a wonderful tip on where to have dinner.

The grade is an average between: - 5: for the building, room, restaurant, cleanliness and contacts before our arrival - 0: for the treatment given to us during our stay I start with the positive side. Before our arrival the hotel staff was very helpful in giving us prompt replies and indications through email. They also gave us a car pass to enter the restricted area of the city, and suggested some parking lots to use. The building is an historical building well in the center of the city, and the room we stayed was very cozy with an amazing original ceiling. The room was very clean. We also tried their restaurant for dinner, and while the service was slow (even if we were the only guests), the food was good and the waiters were courteous. Negative side: we felt mistreated by the lady in charge of the hotel (Monica). There was a lack of courtesies expected from a hotel. Here are the details. First, we booked a package containing one night plus an aperitivo in their bar. However, at the check-in, the lady didn't mention at all the included aperitivo. At night, we showed up at the bar for the aperitivo, and when waiter asked which wine we would prefer, the lady stepped in telling the waiter with a firm voice to give us the basic wine. The day after, we went down for breakfast, but the hotel was locked, and no one was inside the whole premise. We had to arrange for our own breakfast, even if the lady asked us the day before what time we wanted to have our breakfast and what we wanted to eat. We sent them an email, and tried to call them to inform them about this, but we didn't get any reply. After the day out, we met again the lady in the reception, but she didn't mention at all the forgotten breakfast (not even an apology). During the night, the lady was hanging out with her friends at the bar, so we asked the available waiter if we could get some information about check-out time, because we wanted to organize our morning out. Instead of facing us, she sent the waiter back and forth as a messenger, without allowing any flexibility on check-out time (even if the hotel was empty). Later in the night, we were finally able to speak to the lady, and we asked for an earlier breakfast, so that we could check-out earlier. She agreed and she offered three times to leave our luggage in the hotel reception, while visiting the city in the morning. Also, we mentioned the incident during breakfast, and she started blaming her hotel staff for the error, instead of taking responsibility. The next morning at check-out, we asked the guy in the reception where we could leave our luggage. He got startled and told us that after lunch no one would be in the hotel to give us back our luggage. We just left with this negative impression of our stay

This B&B is located in two residential buildings just a short walk from each other (we stayed in the one on Via Roma, less than 2 minutes walking distance from the one on Via Paolo Costa). City center and major sites are literally around the corner. The host offered us a warm welcome and showed us around the premises, not missing to generously invite us to help ourselves from the coffee machine as well as the large fridge which was stocked with an array of juices, mineral water and wine - for free! We had a nice suite which rather was a two rooms apartment - freshly renovated, spacious, spotless, bright, nicely furnished, and lovingly decorated with lots of framed pictures. It sported a fully equipped kitchen and an airy bathroom with shower cabin and bidet. The window overlooked the courtyard so there was no traffic noise. The aircon was very effective combatting Ravenna's muggy summer climate. Breakfast was served in the kitchen. Tea, freshly brewed italian caffè, bread and sweet rolls, sausage and cheese, jam, muesli, juice - in copious amounts. One really felt that some very cultured and hospitable people run this place. It was more like being invited to an Italian family than staying at a hotel. Moreover, the price was more than favourable for all the flair and amenities offered. Absolutely nothing to complain about. Definitely recommended!

This B&B deserves its excellent reviews! The exterior and entrance area downstairs are both unexciting. The bedrooms and breakfast area upstairs are a delight! The bedrooms are very spacious, attractively furnished with a lot of striking, colourful artwork. The modern bathrooms are spotless and practical to use (no cramped shower space or water splashing all over the floor). Very comfortable beds and thank God for air-con in 38 degree heat! Our host was easy to contact, very friendly and went out of his way to help us. Superb location - all major sites and shopping district in walking distance. Easy to recommend!

Le Case di San Vitale Room & Breakfast RAVENNA BYZANTINE ART & LOVING HOSPITALITY Located in the Ravenna pedestrian zone, just in front of the entrance of Basilica di San Vitale (526 AD), one of the most relevant example of Christian-Byzantine architecture and Mausoleum of Mrs. Galla Placidia, this elegant and spacious B&B combines both Byzantine elegance and lovely personnel, catching any guest. Space, comfort, conviviality and style. The spacy library with working chimney and long red sofas is the centerpiece (pezzo forte) where one can relax and becomes talkative after a couple of glasses of free wishkies and grappas whose bottle are put on a cupboard. The crystal elevator shows that the owners want to impress the guests with technology, is installed in the middle of this 3 stores building. Also the cosy garden with a working flat fountain inside an internal patio is the lieu for the breakfast in summer. Otherwise, it is served in the room facing the same garden. The pastries are divine, just coming from the nearby pasticceria “La Veneziana”, where Ravenna people are queuing every Sunday. After the warm welcome of Mrs. Emanuela, an 100% Made in Romagna iron lady, the room named “Abside” was waiting for us. Outside temperature is around 0° (32° F), but the heat is working well and the bathroom has a towel radiator, a large shower with blue mosaic and chromotherapy (not woring during our staying) and marble lavabo. Certain details may be improved though: the light in the bathroom is insufficient to properly shave or make-up, a loop mirror in the right side of the wall mirror is missing, more hooks are requested. However, the big investment here is the installation of the double glass windows/doors which , being the restructuration rather new, we ignore the reasons why this investment was not made. It could have been a clear energy saving for both winter and summer. The littering is fantastic; expect however that at 7h30 sharp the bell of San Vitale rings, remembering that there is a loot to visit in Ravenna, inter alia, Sant’Apollinare in Classe (6th century) which s about 8 km (5 miles) South of Ravenna. It my favourite church in the world. Good is Byzantine for sure. Such a light. Such blue/green mosaics. Such a white alabaster. When I diie, I wish to have a ceremony here, please. At the departure, the set of living tax from Ravenna municipality is Euro 1.-/night and per person. If you came by car, the nearby garage is available for Euro 13.-/night. Stayed as part of a group tour. Hotel was comfortable and clean, room was fine, breakfast as expected, and reception staff friendly and helpful. Quiet location but easy walking access to the many amazing sites in the town. Unusually for a hotel in Italy it provided a kettle, tea bags and coffee sachets in the room - excellent, but rather spoilt by the "cups" being flimsy expanded polystyrene and no spoon! A minor grumble....

We had a very pleasant one night stay at hotel Mosaico. Friendly and competent staff, at the reception and in the breakfast room . We booked again for a one night stay in October. The room a little bit to the small side but ok . Just near by there is a very good Pizzeria Max 5 min . pizzeria Ca’ Rossa. We stayed at the 2. floor with a view 👌 Noise from the the street, yes .. close the window 😉.

We stayed in a room on the second floor at the back of the hotel - 213 I think. The room was well-appointed with a good bed and good facilities. It was very quiet, being at the back, but I suspect the whole Hotel would be similar. There is a lift, which is a big plus. The car parking is good. There is a car park next door and I think we were charged E$20 for two days. The hotel is located close to the ZTL zone, and a short distance from at least one good restaurant. The owner was happy to give us some tips not only about the nicest restaurants, but the local specialties to try. You should follow his advice. We had come to Ravenna to see its famous mosaics. The Hotel is very close to the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia - perhaps a 5 minute walk, so we went to the furthest away and worked our way back before collapsing on our comfy beds. Again, we were grateful for the lift. The breakfast is very good indeed, with a wide selection of products available. Of particular note are the fresh-baked tarts which go very well with the thick Italian coffee. I also partook of the large variety of jam and honey on offer, but not in the same meal. Actually, I think I did swipe a second bit of tart to follow up my jammy toast. I thought it tasted home made - the crust especially was a treat. We found Ravenna to be delightful and hope to return one day. If so, we will certainly book the Hotel Dianna again.

We stayed for 3 nights and overall very happy. The rooms are clean and well organized, although quite small (not bad for the cost though). The first night we stayed in a room on the first floor with a lit of noise, but when we were relocated to 3rd floor it was excellent. Only one complaint: We arrived before checkin and wanted to leave our luggage while exploring Ravenna. We hesitated to leave our smaller backpacks since they had our laptops, documents, etc. but we were ensured they would be moved into their office for safekeeping. Perfect. However, when coming back 5 hours later we found the lobby empty from staff and our backpacks still in the open. Anyone could just have picked them up and left with them.
