0.32km from bar virginia palermoWhere do I start? With the thing that makes this stand out from any hotel, and probably most other B&B's - Georgia. She is the perfect hos, and takes such pride in her immaculate renovated apartment. You really do feel like family and there's nothing that is too much trouble for her. She even wasted 2 hours of her day just chatting to me about life in Sicily when I arrived early off the overnight ferry before my room was ready. No matter what you need help with - transport, sightseeing tips, where to buy just about anything....she will help. If you want to get a glimpse of real Sicilian life, this is the place to stay. Location is fantastic - in a beautiful old apartment building in the upscale part of town. An easy walk from the port and into the centre. Plenty of eating and drinking options for all budgets nearby (Pastry Martino on the opposite corner serves amazing canoli and great coffee, and Pizzeria Biondo had the best reasonably-priced pizzas we had in Sicily), and a nice vibe on Friday and Saturday nights. The rooms were immaculate and very thoughtfully designed with the quality you'd expect from Italy. There were a few comments about the noise from other rooms - if you've lived in an apartment this wouldn't be an issue. If you haven't, earplugs are supplied, so don't let this put you off. The B&B is a large 4/5 bedroom apartment on the 5th floor (or thereabouts) with a breakfast room - I'm not a morning person but I enjoyed chatting to the guests who were staying there as the sort of people who stay at B&Bs tend to be interesting to meet, and good for sharing tips and travel ideas. All in all, I cannot recommend this B&B enough. Palermo was the highlight of my Italy trip, and this B&B was the best I've stayed in. Grazie Georgia!
