0.21km from Barba GrillWhen we arrived, I rang the belll twice. A nice lady opened the front door. She turned out to be a copatriot, not the host. After a call the host arrived an hour later. It turned out there had been a miscommunication between our tour operator and the host about our toa. The rest went well, helpfull hosts, nicely furnitured room. Bathroom more design than practical though. Breakfast limited and enjoyed outside in the neighbouring bar.
0.21km from Barba GrillThis is an understated B&B to the extent that, even standing outside the entrance on the street, it doesn’t exactly hit you in the eye. True, there is a plaque on the wall, but that was partly obscured by leaves, and then there is the intercom call panel, but the label for the property was hard to spot even when you knew it was there. Anyway, the B&B is a third floor apartment in a block accessed from a recessed, mirrored-glass street entrance; although the building itself is modern, the B&B is furnished in a more retro style. We arrived by car and, having made contact with the hosts via the intercom, the gentleman of the property came down to the street and opened up the metal gate to the side of the entrance, which gave access to the underground car park with individual garages; this was provided free of charge but it’s worth booking a place in advance. We then made our way to the third floor, where we were welcomed by Simona, who showed us the facilities and our room. The room was of a good size but the bathroom was tiny by Italian standards – basically it was the width of the shower cubicle with the fittings arranged in a line down the room; possibly not suitable for someone of larger stature. The bathroom also had a particular smell that we put down to the fact that the shower cubicle seemed to be lined with reed matting. Breakfast was spectacular - apart from fruit, there was a whole array of cakes, tarts and pastries, many of which Simona had made herself. Having managed to sample just a few on the first morning, there were even more the next day! The B&B is in an excellent location just a 10-minute walk to the centre of the city and Lecce is small enough to cover easily in a day. Overall, we were pleased that we had chosen this B&B.

0.26km from Barba GrillThis double room with ensuite, balcony, small frig and tea/coffee making facilities was perfect for my stay in Lecce. Although it was on the fourth floor of an apartment block, there was a lift, and the area was quiet. The location was amazing – it was only a 2 minute walk across the park to the wonderful historic centre and 2 doors from a mini mart. It was dark on arrival but I was unable to arrange a shuttle from the train station - the taxi cost Euros 15. I would definitely highly recommend Larala’ when visiting Lecce.

0.39km from Barba GrillThe hotel is good overall. but to be honest I have expected a little bit something more about a 4*. The structure is a little bit old, with wallpaper in the bedroom, but in any case absolutely comfortable. Bedroom and bathroom are big and very clean, even if the carpet maybe could be replaced by something better. Beds are big and comfortable. WIFI connection is good but sometimes with a poor signal. Staff is kind and available to any kind of request. The position is nice, because not so far from the city center (about 10 minutes walking) but is is in a quite calm area. Breakfast very poor. It is a buffet but with only some sweets and nothing more. No salad things, but some jams. Juices are not the one they states - I mean, orange juices have pineapple taste (both days). Shutters into bedroom can be opened or closed only manually but with a very old mechanism :) you need to turn the handle Maybe the carpet into the bedroom is not so good about dust (but this is a personal point of view). The last day the weather was not so good and the shower water was completely cold

0.41km from Barba GrillI spent a weekend in this b&b room nr 1. The staff called me several times in the days prior to my arrival, to learn my E.T.A. I believe they wanted to make sure there was someone at the reception, when I did. The room was small, essentially furnished, clean, very quiet. The bedroom curtains were falling off from one side, I told one of the staff, Daniele, and he promptly tried to fix it as he could, with some scotch tape, that did not last long. This matter should have been taken care prior to guest arrival. Same issue with the TV remote not working, could not use it for the lenght of stay. Breakfast is abundant and served in the room at the requested time. The staff was friendly and accommodating to their capabilities, but for the price requested, I would have expected a little more attention to details, regarding the room.
0.43km from Barba GrillThis is not your usual B&B. It is the realisation of a dream by the owner Dominico. He spent a lot of time studying what makes the perfect vacation accommodation, in every detail, and he made it happen. You will see right away the care he put into every room, the decor, the comfort, the little touches that make it special. You will also appreciate the breakfast area and the wonderful variety of food. This place is beautiful! It is also very conveniently located in center Lecce, which is one of the most spectacular cities in Italy, the "Florence of Salento." I hope to return soon!
Hotels Near Barba Grill In Lecce Review
This hotel is such a great place. We were a bit concerned as it seemed to be in a busy commerical area but not to worry its perfect. The hotel is clean modern and the food is great. We had dinner there as well ... definitely worth it as the food and service is amazing. The location is close to the old town cross a street turn left and take a 1 k walk and voila .... close to autostradas for day trips which we did 3 of... all easily. and the fun part the shower has a ligthing option that changes colours through the spectrum... come on already its so much fun and the staff are multilingual italian english french and i believe german
Located about 1 km from the Old City of Lecce with it's Baroque Churches and buildings this is an ideal place to stay in Lecce. The hotel has car parking and being a blue badge holder I was offered a very convenient and prestigious parking space right next to the front door. If you have ever driven in Italy in a town or city you can understand why once parked you might not want to move again until you are fully recovered from the driving experience. Actually things are not that bad when you realise that non of the locals really want to collide with you but it is quite normal to try and fit as many cars into the available space as possible. Traffic lights are only there for decoration and roundabouts need speakers blasting out the Blue Danube to lubricate the circulation. The rule is "give way to the one who got there first". Also if you have a horn why not let the world hear it!! Check in was very welcoming and helpful and our cases were taken off us and swiftly delivered to our room. The air-conditioning was magically ferocious and we quickly got it at the right level to enable us to sleep under just a sheet. Then a knock at the door produced the promised kettle, cups and teabags reassuringly bearing the name Winston and the European Certification "English Breakfast". This was a real honour since kettles etc., are normally allowed only into superior rooms. A supermarket on the corner of the street supplied the essential milk and we were set up for our 4 day stay. Somehow Italian coach drivers manage to get there vehicles into the car park and having off-loaded the French visitors it was a lovely opportunity to practice my French again. French Tourists do tend to create mayhem at breakfast but the staff worked very hard to ensure that the buffet was restocked and we felt protected by the girls who knew that the way to keep the English happy was to give them each a teapot with the teabag already in and brewing. The French don't really like strong tea and tend to make infusions with luke warm water and a bouquet garni which they need to weaken before threatening a Coq au Vin with the residue. The Italians on the other hand know about coffee and are amused when we have an americano and even dose it with milk. A couple of Espressos in the morning and no wonder you drive like a racing driver! Our stay at this hotel was wonderful. The staff were all great and seemed to love having English visitors as much as we loved being in their lovely country. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone was so helpful. One of the girls in the breakfast room was so pleased to have done my laundry and ironed my shirts but quite disappointed to find out that I was already married. We even visited Brindisi from here by train and at Euro 2.90 each way per person this was cheaper than a mere platform ticket in the UK.
This is a pleasant hotel and we seleted it for its convenient location and good free covered parking. It was our base to tour this area of Puglia. It is a business hotel so it caters to conventions but we never felt overlooked. Our "superior": room was spacious in the tower building and overlooked the pool area. It was very quiet. Breakfast buffet needs a bit of attention when they are busy with tours or a convention since items are not replenished in a timely manner. The breakfast room opens to their dining room and we chose to eat there and it was most pleasant. The breakfast room can be very noisy and crowded. We did enjoy dining in their restaurant every evening after a full day of touring. Food was excellent and featured regional specialties. Also local wine was very good and reasonable. We would recommend this hotel if you are driving for its connvenience and it is a short 15 min walk into the heart of the historic old town.
We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is minimalist modern, and pristine throughout. The beds are huge and comfortable, the bathrooms very smart. The air conditioning is quiet and effective. Superb breakfast-I wish we could have kept the orange juicer! Very helpful reception and other staff. Plentiful car parking. A short taxi journey to the stunning centre of Lecce cost us around 15 Euros. Recommended without hesitation.
Stayed here for 1.5 weeks on over two occasions in both a standard room and a suite. The hotel is immaculate and one of the nicest HGI properties I've ever visited - the pool roof deck, spacious lobby, and well-appointed (and very clean) rooms are all great reasons to stay here. Also: friendly check-in staff, excellent/efficient housekeeping, free parking, and just a 20-minute walk to anywhere in the Centro storico are all really important positives. However, I really take issue with the breakfast, and particularly the breakfast staff. Apart from the gentleman inside the breakfast area dutifully serving customers, the other restaurant staff (generally 2-3 people, typically 2 ladies and one man) were consistently rude and never did their jobs in cleaning the tables, resetting silverware, etc. One would walk in 1 hour before the close of breakfast, there would be a dozen empty tables, not a single one cleaned. No eye contact, no proactive service, and sorry, I have never tasted such awful coffee in Italy. Apart from this, I would absolutely return to the hotel and as a Hilton Honors Gold member, just take the points and have breakfast at one of the numerous bakeries/cafes nearby.
We truly loved our 2 day stay at Cadelli Luxury Suite in the 'One Bedroom Apartment' which is ground floor (maybe 3 steps to front door) All rooms were spotlessly clean The bedroom is large beautifully furnished, bed & pillows very comfy, lovely linen, very quiet, windows closed no noise - it is air conditioned. Big bathroom, good shower, fluffy white towels, usual toiletries, hairdryer etc. The Kitchen - is huge all amenities if you want to cook, fridge had some breakfast items, juice, yoghurt, bottled water. There is a Nespresso coffee maker, also cereal, jams etc and each morning Tania arrived with yummy fresh warm pastries & bread. This small boutique B & B is absolutely perfectly located for exploring Lecce - it is situated in a quiet little street behind the main Duomo -a 2 min walk to Piazza Duomo & 5mins to Piazza S.Oronzo ... and less than 15mins to the Train Station - a very easy straight forward route. Tania who checked us in is just delightful, full of wonderful suggestions of what to see & where to eat. Restaurant Tormaresca is one of her favourites, not touristy, a good mix /fusion of modern Italian and almost Asian - we thoroughly enjoyed it - 5 minutes from the B & B. We also ate at 'Le Zie ' original trattoria must book - so good. Also check out the wonderful deli Golosita del Salento around the corner very handy for that bottle of wine, olives, prosciutto, etc Thanks Tania for looking after us so well, we would love to return one day.
