We were a group of 5 and had the entire B&B to ourselves. It was very clean and well maintained inside and out. The B&B is situated on the 5th floor and has a lovely terrace. The building has an elevator, as advertised and is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood which was safe in the evening and quiet overnight. The lovely terrace is where we had breakfast in the morning, a respite from the hot sun in the afternoon and a glass of wine in the evening. Staying in this area of Rome was perfect for us. One streetcar from Piazza Venetia. Tram passes by the Trastevere neighbourhood which we ended up touring on this trip. Sandro is the best host and deserves all the accolades and perfect reviews. He was the one who arranged airport pickup and drop off for us which made arriving and departing Rome and B&B so simple. He made breakfast for us and took note of our preference for savory options and baked goods. From the moment we arrived he recommended routes to take to get to points of interest in the center of Rome. He gave us great suggestions for restaurants at different price points, always offering to call for taxi and make reservations. From the moment you step into the B&B you can tell Sandro takes great pride in maintaining it and making it a comfortable place for his guests. He goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and want to visit the B&B again. He shares his love and knowledge of Rome with his guests so staying here does not disappoint!

Good hotel and the tram/bus stops are few minutes walk away. I took the new bus 520 from Ciampino Airport then got off at Cinecitta and then catch the Metro. Instead of taking bus H from Termini, I got off at Manzoni and took the tram number 3 just outside of the station. You need to cross the road to take the tram that goes towards Trastevere. Got off from Tram 3 at Pascarella, from the same platform took Tram 8. Got off at RAMAZZINI and walked few minutes to the hotel. Receptionist is very polite and she gave us the map and told us where we can get the food and so on. The only down side is, there is no lift available but only the steps to go to the top floors. There is a supermarket closer to the tram stop but I preferred the supermarket(more choice) which is found in front of Trastevere tram stop. I spent long time at the bus stop to catch bus H to go to the Centre but this bus never turned up(once spent an hour at the bus stop). Tram is very frequent and recommended. I did a day trip to Pompei and Herculanium. Left very early morning to catch the 7:00 am train to Naples and then from there took the local train to Ercolano, spent 2.5 hours there then took the train again to Pompei. Pompei has 2 stations depend on which train you take so make sure you get off at the correct station. Leaving from the Hotel to Termini very early means you should take bus H but because of unreliable service I took another bus from the road next to the Hospital and went to Pyramid Metro station. From there Termini is few stops away. There is a good free Rome transport app(Moovitapp) available and you can plan any of your journey by using this good app. Few hours queuing is normal for all the tourist attractions in Rome so carry a water bottle with you. I bought the 5 days pass at the airport which is very useful.

The room was clean and very modern. I have a very pleasant stay. Overall is good. It was a bit difficult to communicate with the owner because she couldn't speak English. I had waited outside the door for half an hour because of the misunderstanding. Everything was settled and the problem was solved finally. She was very nice and helpful. The location isn't really good as it's not located in the city centre and the transport in Rome was terrible so we wasted most of our time by waiting for the buses to reach town.

We made a last minute decision to stay here and were pleasantly surprised. Despite overlooking a busy main road, the room was quiet and peaceful. The room itself was modern, clean and comfortable. Air conditioning and wi-fi worked perfectly. Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Great location with plenty of bus/tram stops nearby. I also recommend a great cafe & bar next door to the hotel (‘Old Moon’) along with a wonderful restaurant (‘Pizzeria Camiceria Bisteccheria’) which serves delicious food. Overall, a great experience. I will definitely stay here again.

I do not understand why this place receives good reviews. Yes, the owner is very amicable and he has put effort into decorating the place. But it falls short on everything else. The bedding & sheets are cheap and in bad shape, they did not seem to wash clean any longer. Bedding & pillows were cheapest IKEA. Bed was very uncomfortable (it lacked a pillow-top). On their website they claim that they have a gourmet breakfast prepared by a chef. None of those words can be applied to what I was served. The breakfast is not a “typical Italian breakfast” either, as claimed by the manager in a reply to a review. I’ve had one and it looks nothing like the one served here! Le Fate serves pre-packaged, dry crackers, cheap & sweetened orange-juice. It’s all 100% processed food. I was offered toast, it was small pieces of a burned baguette. There was a jar of cookies “baked by Ms xx for our guests” but they were store-bought cookies (there was a pack of them in the cupboard...). It’s nice to offer cookies, but don’t make up a story about how they are homemade when clearly they are not. Its just condescending. And if that jar once contained homemade cookies then change the note. The toilet was not working properly (there was a special way you had to press so that it would flush). The toilet was LOUD 24/7. I could hear it to my bedroom. The bathroom was a bit iffy in general, the shower/bath was dirty and there was no rail for the showerhead. Extremely unconvinient. The room was big and decorated in a relaxed country-style. Nothing bad about that. What bummed me the most was the location. The place I was staying at was very far from the center of Rome. You had to take a tram. It’s a 7-10 minute walk from the flat to the tram, then you wait for the tram and the tram took about 20 minutes. I had stayed at a different location in Rome (for work) earlier that same week and had really enjoyed walking around the city. Rome is fantastic because it’s a nice city to walk in. All sights are close to each other and the city is filled with palazzos, small gardens, statutes etc. It’s a nice city to explore also by just walking around without a timetable etc. Sure you can do it from a distance, but it leaves out all the spontaneity from it if you have a tram to catch. I also do not recommend this place if you have a lot of luggage and are not moving around by taxi (not a great idea due to traffic). It’s quite a haul from the tram stop and it’s not a straight road and there is a long staircase in the middle of the route. It took a lot of blood, sweat & tears to get my stuff up and down those stairs. Plus it’s a moderately hilly area, so even if you are told that it’s a short walk from the tram stop, it really isn’t. The walls and floors/ceilings are very thin. And this is a normal apartment building with normal non-vacation people living upstairs and downstairs. Keep that in mind if you are a light sleeper and want ultimate relaxation. I was woken up early in the mor

We reserved the deluxe apartment, it is a ground floor apartment separated from the inner courtyard and reception by a stone wall / fence. The apartment was really peaceful and it had a small terrace space between the front door and the terrace wall. The apartment had a small kitchen with electric ceramic cooktop and microwave oven. There was also some kettles and cookery enough for two persons. Actually we did not prepare any food, just small breakfasts in the apartment. The bed was fine, but maybe the pillows were too hard. Bathroom was quite narrow, but working. The apartment was cleaned almost every day, also our trash was taken out, so we did not have to do anything. The air conditioning in the apartment was a pleasure, as the outside temperatures during our stay were around 30 C degrees. This is not a comment on the hotel, more of a note for future visitors ... but Patrizia Romana Palace is situated in the Portuense district, couple of kilometers from Trastevere train station and quite far from the historical center of Rome. For public traffic the only possibility is to use buses, with connections to either Trastevere or Ostiense train stations. Actually the travel time to the center of Rome is not so much, but needs a change from bus to tram or metro. This did not disturb us.

The B&B is on the fifth floor of an apartment building. The room was clean and neat, even had a balcony. For EUR42 including breakfast that was good. The breakfast turned out to be voucher for one of the nearby cafes. Cappuccino and croissant was ok to start the day. The location might not be perfect for tourists. There are buses, but no tram, metro or train station is close. If you have stuff to do in Portuense, great though. There are a few restaurants around for dinner. They have one across the road.

I can see why this place has such great reviews. The lady who greeted us was so sweet and took great care of us. The place was super clean!!! Each day the covers were changed. It was well worth every penny considering we did not have a pleasant experience at a different place we had reservations for. We found this place online and were soo happy that we forget about the unpleasant experience at a different hotel. They have delicious snacks/espresso machine in the front area. The train station that takes you to the center of Rome was only two blocks from this place! And only less than 10 stops. It was wonderful!! We want to go back when we return to Rome.

Perfect location, especially if you arrive from the train station, so you can directly leave your luggage and walk in the biggest open hair museum: Rome! The hotel is very modern and new! The twin bedroom was equipped with all the facilities and spacious and spot clean. The Staff and the property are very well prepared and following the new Covid safety procedures. A special thanks to the reception team, the super funny guy that welcomed me and my friend upon arrival and the amazing lady that was there upon check out. Keep it up with the great job and I’ll see you on my next visit, Ciao

Stayed here for 2 nights. Arrived late gone 10pm pleasantly surprised that the restaurant was still open lovely food. Also offered a snack menu if we wanted to eat after 10.30pm. Very lovely bar and chill out areasThe room was immaculate with a very decent bath and shower. Breakfast was continental but plenty of it. 20 minute bus ride into central of Rome. €12.00 euros ticket covers 48hours and can be used on all public transport. We used the bus, train and tram. Restaurants in Rome all charge for sides i.e. veg or salad etc. Eat in the ones way from the main attractions by a couple of streets. Wear trainers as you end up walking alot and pack a travel umbrella. Stayed 2 days and saw loads Night time was a magical atmosphere everything lit up.

Termini Central Station
Though the beds need to be updated, the room was big, and the location was perfect as it was close to the terminal. However, the city tax they charge was quite expensive. The hallway set up was a little confusing at first but not too bad. One hallway was a little creepy though; and the spa seems to open late and close early. The staff were nice and love the rooftop bar.

We travelled as a family of 2 Adults & 2 Children. Most part of our trip to Europe we were all in 1 room, however at Rome we had booked a quad room with connecting doors, and this was amazing for all family members to have a bigger space. Both rooms were spacious, clean, and modern. Beds & pillows super comfortable, wifi works great. In the main room there was an amazing space to do your make up each morning with a mirror and lights, lighting needs to be a little brighter but great to have own area. Breakfast was only 9€ and quite a big selection, both of my fussy eaters enjoyed! The waitress was lovely and kind. Walking distance to everything - we chose to walk over the city as everything is walking distance and you get to see more, however HoHo bus stops are close, and walking distance to Terminal train station. I would 100% stay here again, and recommend this hotel to anyone! Also a mention to the staff in reception, who were very kind with check out! Great hotel, stay here!

We were planning a stay in a Rome prior to our cruise and selected The Hassler due to its pre-cruise package - a great deal. We took advantage of the personal assistant at the airport and the hotel transfer and felt like VIP’s. Very welcome after our long overnight flight from the US. The assistant insisted on handling our bags for us and getting us through some airport construction to find our driver. All seamless. We spent 6 lovely nights at The Hassler in early Feb 2020. The staff were so friendly and accommodating from the time we entered the hotel treating us like frequent returning customers. We were fortunate to have a room overlooking the Spanish Steps and what a view! A very comfy bed, too. We enjoyed a few meals in Salone Eva and enjoyed great food and impeccable service. Such friendly staff who made certain we were happy with everything from our drink orders to our food. The buffet breakfast was really good, too, with a wide variety of selections and the same service in a beautiful dining room. So many friendly people who pampered us and made us feel like we were the most important people there. We loved their Amorvero body lotion and wish we could buy it online but unable to find it anywhere. Our transfer to Civitavecchia took us right to the cruise terminal and helped us get our bags dropped off with the handlers. All top notch service. We hope to return here in the future to enjoy the luxury of the Hassler. This was the best service we have ever experienced and heartily recommend staying at this hotel. You won’t be disappointed.

Monti
We stayed at the Monti Palace Hotel for a week in September. It is worth saying this was during the coronavirus pandemic so Rome was very quiet although case numbers in Italy were low. Firstly, the positives:- Location - hotel is right on top of the metro station which is very convenient. Note that you have to change at termini for several locations in central Rome. 20 min walk from Trevi fountain or pantheon, 10 mins to forum and colosseum. Small supermarket directly across the street and lots of restaurants in the local vicinity. We had good, cheap food at La Base, Ai Tre Scalani and Iari the Vino. Check in - we arrived at 12:30 and were informed the room was ready - much appreciated after an early start. We were told we had been upgraded to a superior room but that is the room type we had booked (and shows on our booking confirmation) No problem so we didn’t say anything but a bit odd to say we had been upgraded. We also requested a high floor to be away from the road noise and were put on the top floor for rooms. Room - room was a good size and overall very clean. The bathroom in particular was lovely. Housekeeping did a very thorough job each day. Air con was great and the bed was very comfy. But, see below the negative points The not so good things:- Breakfast - was included in our rate (not free included in the price!) it was pretty dire to be honest. I know with covid it is difficult but can’t understand why they couldn’t offer toast (we specifically asked on the form you fill in, in both English and Italian and were given bread), or why fruit such as a banana couldn’t be offered. We had the bacon one day - was the soggiest bacon I’ve ever seen and arrived in less than 2 mins so I assume was microwaved? Conversely the croissants are cold and from a packet. I understand it is a really hard time but I do think they could be doing better. The water and juice was good. Reception - usually very good but I did ask one member of staff if I could pay to print out some tickets for the colosseum we had booked last minute. He said only from 2pm which I thought was very odd (and too late for us!) seemed like he just couldn’t be bothered and his colleague would be on the desk by 2pm. The lift also seemed to smell really bad every time we used it. Light switches - the one anomaly in otherwise a very clean hotel. The light switches were filthy - really disgusting, looked like they’d never been cleaned and this applied to all of them - the two by the bed, the bathroom and by the main door to the room (pics attached). Storage - the room has been designed by a designer rather than by someone who has actually tried staying in the room! We had the largest size of room and it had one single wardrobe maybe 2.5ft wide - with a rail, and two shelves (there was another shelf but well out of reach). Half of one of the shelves was taken up by the safe. There was no other storage in the room other than open surfaces eg. table, bench by door. There wasn’t a si
