|0.42km from city centerWe booked the family room. It was well priced for what we got. Shame the doors don’t line up properly but everyone near us had the same issue. Easy fix maintenance issue but. Beds doubled as a lounge but it meant you can watch tv in bed which a lot of hotels don’t offer TVs in the bed rooms. I presume that’s the difference between a hotel and motel as we don’t normally stay in motels. Nice to cuddle up and watch a movie when the kids go to bed. Didn’t like that the centre door auto locked and only 1 key. Made it hard if the kids wanted to come in during the night. There was a second privacy door but it does not close properly. The second bed in each room came in handy for the younger one. The check in staff were great and knowledgeable. They were down to earth and not “snobbish”. We didn’t feel like we were annoying them asking questions about activities. Loved having the back entrance since the front is so narrow and the same car was parked there during our visit so no way out. It is right on the river and localised so we walked to most things. Shops, breakfast, dinner etc. we only drove to the activities, zoo, museum etc. Take bug spray, we got eaten alive but that’s no fault of the venue, it’s just the location. They were fully booked but we still felt like the only ones there and always had exclusive use of the pool and outdoor area. May be different when it warms up but the kids loved it. If we return to rocky for another short stay we would return to motel 98. The only think I do not recommend is eating at skyring (their restaurant) unless you want to starve. 20kg 9yr old girl ate the $53 steak meal and was still hungry but I’ll leave the full review for their page. Only reason for a 4 not a 5 was the food and no local “what around” booklets like most places have had. Free wifi slow (can’t watch movies on it) but allowed us to google more local attractions. I asked about restaurant hours and they advised they shut at 8 however could make a meal and keep under heat lamp until my arrival. This was very appreciated after a 9 hour drive. The room was clean and tidy. The check in was awesome and Breakfast was amazing. Meals big and also my steak was cooked to absolute perfection. Chefs usually overcook MR and this was on point.

Except for the lack of laundry, everything else is complete, the room is also very large, but the color of the bed cover is a bit unclear.

|0.42km from city centerI spent 2 nights at Edge apartments last week while in Rockhampton. Check in was quick and friendly, and I was advised to park anywhere available in the carpark. Going into the carpark, there was nothing available and I ended up parking on the street. On the second night, again I drove through the car park but there were no spaces available, so also ended up parking on the street. The room was basic but comfortable and clean. A reverse cycle air conditioner was included, and there was a fridge, sink and microwave in the room. Wifi is provided free of charge and it works. The room was incredibly hot when I arrived at it, but after an hour the aircon had worked and cooled it down. There is an Indian restaurant and bar on the ground floor, which I highly recommend. Excellent food. It is a short walk to the shopping centre, and there is a river nearby which is good for walking along. As a big benefit, the Edge does not charge any surcharge of paying by credit card. Hotels have been one of the most bullish industries in applying surcharges, despite enjoying more benefits than other industries (booking guarantees, pre-authorisations, charging for no-shows, charging for late charges, avoiding large cash transactions), so it was VERY welcome that the quoted price at Edge is the actual price that you pay without a surcharge. I would happily stay here again for a short stay in Rockhampton (but bear in mind the lack of parking).

|0.9km from city centerStayed at the Denison last night. It was a wonderful experience. The decor is Victorian/Federation and the facilities were tasteful, clean and very comfortable. The staff greeted us cordially and made us welcome even thought it was quite late in the day. The room was absolutely beautiful. Highly recommended if you want to stay in a place that oozes old world charm from a bygone era, but with all the modern conveniences. Our only observation was that the bed, whilst huge and comfortable had a mattress and pillows softer than we are used to. That is not a criticism, just a personal preference. Otherwise, perfect.

|0.39km from city centerVery run down motel. We booked on the day of stay and arrived late. The text communication from the Manager was good and key left in the safe for us upon arrival. The room was either undergoing an upgrade Or was very run down, not sure of which. There were holes in the wall and sections of the wall where paint was missing in places where it was obvious old cupboards had been. The occupants of the room next door sat outside our room most of the night smoking with the smoke coming right on in. Designated smoking areas would be a good idea ( away from the rooms) The hot water system from the room next door sounded like a train in our room .

|0.61km from city centerWe stayed for two separate nights (on our way down to and back from the Gold Coast - road tripping from Cairns) and both nights were great. The rooms were clean, check in was very easy and then after hours check out was easy as well. There was a kettle & microwave as standard in both rooms we stayed in, which was great to quickly heat a meal & make a hot drink after a long day of driving. We had to change the date of our second night on the way home, and the staff on the phone was always very helpful and understanding each time we had to call & change the date. Would definitely stay again if we were driving through again and needed a place to stay in Rocky for the night. The pricing was great for a small, clean room that was needed just as a stop over for a night.

He gave me a cosy room overlooking the pool. There were people milling around on the stairs or outside their doors but they were fine. Overall I felt this was good value for money. The rooms are slightly different to the photo's and it is obviously an older establishment but it was clean and cosy.

|0.59km from city centerI'm going to be honest and say when you turn up at Q Motel, your first impression is that this is a set from Breaking Bad. Things are a bit rundown and shabby, but you can't expect a 5-star experience for the value you get here. The only staff member I encountered was friendly, pleasant and helpful. The room itself was a bit daggy but sufficiently clean and comfortable. Better lighting would be helpful and also, there needs to be some cutlery in the room. There were tea and coffee facilities but no teaspoons! I also ordered food to be delivered (Uber Eats) and had no utensils to eat it with. The shower is fine, plenty of hot water, but water pressure is a bit low. Lots of clean towels and other linens provided. The room had most of what you would expect (TV on wall, bar fridge, iron and ironing board, desk, etc.). I was only there overnight so didn't get to check out the local environment. Other reviews have mentioned heavy truck traffic in the night. I was there on a Friday night and didn't have a problem with this. For the price you pay, this is a cheap and satisfactory motel. It was particularly busy the night I was there, with the car park full of guest cars.

It was clean but old and you can tell that some items are well past their used by date carpets etc. Aesthetics aside the staff were friendly and helpful and cleaning was offered daily. We did find someone's choclate milk in our fridge after our day out which was a little odd. The car park as it was so full is a very tight fit for large vehicles but it could just have just been the fact that it was Christmas, the pool was good but needing cleaning. The beds were terrible - might be alright for 1 night but 4 nights in we were struggling with sore backs. While its great that its a pet friendly motel we did not bring our pets and did not appreciate the barking dog next door ... all night... the walls are very thin. One night it was a dog the next a large family with lots of children that yelled and ran up and down the verandah until all hours. All in all its a good place for an overnighter or passing through but no longer than a night or 2.

🚗 Traffic: It's all driving here, but at least explain how to check in and parking on the reservation email. The hotel is on the roadside. If you don't have a room card, you can't enter the garage. When you check in, the car can't stop and help the road. There are several parking spaces on the roadside are full. Finally, you can put a person off the bus to check in, and the driver circled.

There seems to be a strong expectation that all guests are either local or repeat visitors (with vehicles). Both the lady who checked me in and the other staff member there at thebtime seemed utterly baffled and even suspicious that I was not familiar with the area and had basic questions about nearby ammenties (supermarkets Etc). There is no 'way to indicate 'do not disturb' which lead to staff coming into the cabin to clean while I was asleep in the room. We both got quite a fright! No harm done, but very easily avoidable especially for week long stays in self catering rooms which you would not expect to receive cleaning service until you check out.

|1.26km from city centerA standard Australian-style motel, with a small courtyard surrounded by rooms, and a small outdoor swimming pool is basically for children to play in the water. I was asking for leave from the chef, so I could only go out for breakfast. Instant coffee and tea bags were provided, as well as small bottles of drinking water. The room facilities were relatively simple and clean, almost the domestic Hanting standard. Because self-driving choose here is mainly free parking, parking fees in Australian hotels are more expensive. Arrived early in the morning. As a result, there was no one at the front desk, so I had to go to the nearby shopping mall for lunch and then come back to check in. The old lady was very nice and gave a small can of fresh milk for the in-house guests to make coffee. You can leave after returning. There are many locals staying, but for Chinese guests, it may not be able to adapt to such a simple hotel. If you just want to be clean, spend a night, and not picky, you can choose, after all, the price is affordable!

Room was tidy, never seen the bathroom sink on the outside of the bathroom before but still functional. Receptionist was very helpful & pleasant. Great off the street parking. Rooms unfortunately are not very sound proof, was awake at 5am due to other people leaving & trucks. Food at the tavern was great, steak cooked perfectly & woodsmoked pizza was good quality. Reasonably priced with lots of options.
