My husband and I stayed here for three nights. I imagine this hotel was something of a 'Ritz' in 1979. However, 40 years of zero maintenance is pretty evident here.  Crumbly window frames, ciggy burns in the carpet (yes, carpet!) I can't imagine the amount of money it would take to bring it up to date.  On a positive note, the staff are super friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and the beds are very comfy. Wi-Fi also very good! The food is perfectly acceptable (keep in mind, this is a three star rated hotel....) Air Con isn't great, but just about does the job.  30 min walk to town. I would suggest an Uber cab from the airport. Cost us £9.50.

Good mid range. Friendly staff, nice setting on an inlet and good view from the rooftop bar for sundowners. Pool is pleasant on a hot day. Small enough to be personal, big enough to be relaxing and discreet. Restaurant good, staff/service nice. Rooms clean and comfortable. Not all balconies on ‘sea side’ have views (caution with the booking.com description - staff highlighted ongoing translation issues there..) but spacious and cool exactly as the pictures. 2 bed apartment has a wonderful outdoor space right on the water’s edge with a fabulous sunset view.

Park Plaza Histria is a fabulous 4*hotel (more a 5* in my opinion). I cannot find anything to complain about regarding this Hotel. The staff are smartly dressed, friendly, efficient, professional and helpful. Their English is also very good. The lobby area is huge with plenty of high end classy sofas, armchairs, tables and a Lobby Bar that offers a wide range of drinks and food. The decor of the hotel is contemporary, modern and bright. Everything is in great condition. The bedrooms are well thought out, full length mirror, plenty of sockets, storage and hangers. The safety deposit box is free of charge too. The main restaurant is large, well seated (in and out) and up to date furniture. The food is plentiful, variable and healthy mixed with some not so healthy choices! You won’t struggle to eat here. It’s been well thought out. The Hotel has 4 restaurants in total. The pool area is spacious, clean and there are plenty of beds in and around the pool area. There is a well staffed, well run Pool Bar which offers a great selection of drinks and food all day. The towels are free of charge and replaceable whenever you want another. The Spa is very sophisticated and extremely modern. Just like a high class spa at home. It offers all treatments, 3 saunas/steam rooms and a huge seawater pool with beds around the outside. It also has a hairdressers. The indoor pool and steam rooms are free of charge. The bus stop into Pula town is just a 5/10 minute walk to the barrier of the Hotel. It costs £1.50 into Pula by bus. Downside - not really anything outside of hotel.

We booked this hotel after reading all the good reviews, but unfortunately our experience was not great. Starting with our room, which was small, but not a problem for us, as there was a lovely big comfortable bed, and a great shower. However, we had a side sea view room, and the only view we had was of large, oppressive pine trees. Looking to the side from our balcony there was a glimmer of sea through the trees. The hotel is surrounded by trees, so you would be very lucky to get a real sea view. Some rooms do not even have a balcony. The pool area is also surrounded by trees, so only a small number of sun beds have sun all day, and of course these were bagged early by people putting towels out before breakfast. This shade, would probably be welcomed in the hight of summer, but in September not so good. Also there is no comfortable outdoor seating on the terrace, which did have a view of the sea. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice, and an egg cooking station. Unfortunately, the same can not be said of the evening buffet. The hot food was only lukewarm, and when I mentioned it to the staff, they just shrugged and walked away. There was freshly made pizza, so ok if you enjoy pizza every night. Also, the air conditioning was still blasting out cold air in the public areas, so you couldn’t sit comfortably in the bar or dining room. The bar area is also very small, with not many comfortable chairs. There was entertainment on our first two nights, but then nothing after that, and surprisingly they put up the cost of drinks on our third night. There is a coastal footpath, which was lovely for a walk, with beautiful views out to sea. We even saw dolphins on one of our walks. The footpath brings you to the hotel Histria, which was much nicer than the Arena, with a lovely warm comfortable reception/bar area, and lots of comfortable outdoor seating. We wished we had booked this hotel, even if the cost had been slightly higher. This was our fourth visit to Croatia, which is a beautiful country, but this was the first time we were glad to be going home.

I very much enjoyed my stay in the White Studio at Old City Studios, a great location just a few steps from the main walking street of the old city and all the shops, bars and restaurants this offers. A compact but well equipped studio room. The White Studio is located to the rear of the property with a small window and no view, except on to an ancient stone wall opposite. The shortage of natural light in this particular studio was compensated by good lighting. I appreciated the room amenities such as the fruit and sweets and the selection of coffee and tea, and they are equipped with Amazon and Netflix for entertainment. The double bed had 2 single duvets on it, which might be a benefit to some who fight over the duvet :-) . I loved the old stone steps leading up to the first floor from the street level, worn away by centuries of use. I arrived early but I was able to leave my bags for safe keeping in the studio and the Manager messaged me when it was prepared. The studio was spotlessly clean. A very good and friendly service, she provided lots of information on what to do, where to eat etc, vouchers for a free drink at the beach bar, reached by a bus ride. A recommended option for a short stay in the heart of the old city.

This is a new hotel - just 3 months old, right in the middle of Pula. Perfect for anyone wanting a few days in the town. We had a superior king room which was clean and spacious. The air conditioning was great, the bed firm (which I like) and very comfortable. There was a kettle, a mini fridge, dressing gown and slippers, hair dryer etc. The room had a separate seating area with a table and comfy chair. The room looked nice and it really was a pleasure to return to the hotel after a day out. Although the hotel is right on the pedestrianised main street, once the front door closed you couldn't hear a sound. In fact the room was also silent apart from occasionally hearing other guests coming and going. We didn't have breakfast so I can't comment on it - breakfast is actually not in the hotel but in a restaurant a couple of minutes walk away. We chose to pop out to the nearby bakery for croissants to have with tea in the room - perfect. If you fancy a break from sight seeing or boat trips there is an outdoor terrace to either soak up the sun or laze in the shade. There were a couple of slight negatives though which almost bought the rating down to a 4 rather than a 5. The terrace has a large hot tub. On the first couple of days we were there it really was too unclean to use. There was also a problem with room cleaning - the cups and glasses in the room were never washed, the bed not properly made and on one occasion a dirty towel (not ours) left hanging in our bathroom. We thought it might have been ours left for water conservation purposes except my wife found some 'dirt' on it which we would definitely not have left on a towel. The toilet paper was also not replenished. Given that it's a 4/5 star hotel these mayter really need to be addressed. However, this certainly did not spoil our overall enjoyment.

I’m not sure why they chose to call this a hostel as it was more upscale than we anticipated and felt like a boutique hotel. Located in a historic building, that has been renovated, its very tastefully designed to maximize its small space. They even installed an elevator. We stayed in two attic rooms. They were quiet and small but were fine for one person or a couple for a few days as the location of this hotel couldn’t be more perfect - literally located right beside the Arch of the Sergii and a 5 min walk to the Colosseum. The photos posted with this review show the hotel’s yellow building and one of the interior design elements preserved during the renovation. Such character. Room 303 was much smaller than Room 305. The only challenge we encountered was parking. The GPS took us to the main street located in front of the hotel, but that is not where parking is offered nor where you can drop off luggage. If you are driving by car and have a lot of luggage, make sure you communicate in advance with the hotel so they can send you VERY clear instructions as to where to bring the car to unload your luggage. It’s a tad complicated. Easier if you arrive by taxi. I would stay here again! Location was superb for exploring Pula!

All the employees are very friendly and helpful. If you want a 5 star hotel go find one, Galija is very good at what they do but they're NOT a full service resort. The arrangements were all done through email with the apartment owners and flights booked through last minute. com which included transfers. We arrived in a thunderstorm and Marija sent us the codes to access our apartment earlier in the day than we had been told. This was about 11 am. The apartment was still being cleaned but we were able to leave our luggage and went for a quick drink and when we came back 30 mins later it was all clean and fresh. It seemed to me all flats had the same code as the code for the outer door was the same for the actual apartment. This was a bit concerning. The flat was modern. And well equipped. We only had 1 mug but Marija sorted another one for the following day. I did request an iron bit didn't ever get one, however I only asked once and wasn't too concerned. The apartment is in the old part of Pula, above some local shops and bars/restaurants. And a local casino. It can be noisy which didn't bother us and when windows and shutters were closed it could hardly be heard. It was lovely just to come out of the apartment onto the street and have all facilities there. It is next to a bus stop and taxi rank. A small supermarket is 3 mins away . 5 mins walk to the amazing Amphitheater. On your to do list is a visit the Amphitheater, it cost about £6.00 per adult, well worth it. The bus stop for the hop on hop off bus is at the location of the Amphitheater and that cost us £11.00 each for 24 hours. We got off at a local cove which was beautiful and spent a few hours and visited a shopping center there. This is in the more family orientated part of town for package holidays. It is a beautiful coastline, pebbly in the main but stunning. We also booked a day excursion to Venice. We left about 7am and got back at 8pm. The boat takes 3 hours to get there and time is tight to do everything but its worth it. That cost us £80 each. IMPORTANT Point!!!! Not many places take card payments. Some restaurants and shops but you need to make sure you have a good % of your money in cash. I had a Monzo card which is preloaded with money. It doesn't charge for cash withdrawals at Atm but locally the do. When I took money for the Venice excursion out I was charged £29 to take out £170. A lot to pay. Currency is Kuna, and in Venice its Euro so also consider that. July was 30 degrees generally and about once a week you get an amazing thunderstorm. A beer is about 18 Kuna (£2.10) in bars. Wine comes as 0.1l (much smaller than the 175ml in UK!!!) for about 12 Kuna (£1.50) in bars. Meals are generally about £15-20 a head in restaurants. Pula is a beautiful city with lots of architecture and lovely buildings. We loved our time there and would def recommend it

Beautifully sunny Croatian day, so we headed to the Brijuni Nat Park. Went to the onshore booking office but left slightly confused as to how your ferry ticket also gets you in a guided tour (if it’s not booked up?)....anyway, for what it’s worth don’t bother with the guided tour or the wee train that drives around.....hire the electric cars and explore the island on your own. 300 Knr for an hour so take it for 2 and that gives you plenty time to stop, explore the Roman villas, the Safari Park, the ruined church and the numerous stunning little inlets with gloriously clear water. Only complaint was the ham/cheese sandwich we got. It wasn’t worth anywhere near the money, very poor, a slither of ham and an equally thin slice of cheese inside thick rolls, and no butter!! Take your own juice and snacks, probably easier. After handing back the cars we found a lovely spot under some trees, near the sea, and cooled off, did a bit of snorkling until the 5.30 ferry came to take us back to the mainland. Go, well worth the effort and a lovely place to explore.......just take your own grub😀.

Good location, beautiful views and small rooms. Service was good overall, but uncle was weaker when checking out. I couldn't find the bill I signed for consumption. The hotel documents issued were all in local language and I couldn't understand. In addition to the room rate, there are also city taxes, insurance fees (I do n’t know what insurance is covered), and registration fees (I do n’t know what to note). It was said that the packaged breakfast was not available. I later complained and replied that I did not take it. The restaurant and room service are very good, and the front desk service is also very good during the day, that is, when checking out early in the morning, the uncle's ability to communicate is too weak. Lowered the service level of the hotel.

This is a modern building, very clean, wifi internet access and very good parking spaces. The breakfast is also good. It is a level that can be fully enjoyed. The restaurant is very spacious and easy to use. In the morning, the staff will ask you if you need a special breakfast, but you do not have to pay extra. Breakfast is enough. It is about a 15-20 minute walk from the old town, but the adults outside are medium. The bus is nearby, so take a bus. The hotel is located in a modern building, excellent breakfast, Wi-Fi, bathroom, air conditioning, parking lot There is no inconvenience for newlyweds, and families with children are far from the old town, so you should take a bus or taxi. I drink coffee (Korean standard) at the cafe on the first floor of the hotel, but it is really cheap. It is much cheaper than Korea.

The hotel is located within the pedestrian area of the old town and so is not directly accessible by car. The hotel has a few parking spots close by and if you let them know when you arrive they come round with a golf buggy and take you to the hotel - so there is no need to drag your luggage through the old town. The hotel, although in the old town is renovated in a modern style. The rooms are a good size for a city hotel and the bathroom has a large rain shower with good pressure. The rooms are set on three floors which you can access by stairs or lift. On the second floor there is a sun terrace, which is a nice spot to chill on outside sofas. They also have a lounge area on the first floor with big leather sofas, although we did not make use of it. Breakfasts are good and have a good selection. To clarify some facts in previous reviews - I do get annoyed with inaccurate reviews that either slam or praise s location. There is a lift in the hotel - it even talks to you as the doors close. The rooms, although not huge are large enough for a short stay - we had 3 large suitcases plus hand luggage. No, it does not have a gym or pool - if these are vital for you stay - book somewhere else!

There is a breakfast buffet, a 24-hour gym, and a sauna, but the parking lot is too difficult to get in and out, and the general car skills have to stand aside. Although the parking lot is free, it is too test of car skills! The beauty front desk came down to pick us up to the parking lot, the service was good 👍

We are so happy that we chose to stay at Villa Scalaria! Communication with the staff was easy and fast. Julija met us at the parking and showed us our parking spot, right next to the entrance of the Villa. Check in was easy and Julija gave us some helpful tips and recommendations. The room was big, very clean with a large bathroom and super comfy mattresses. Great location - only a few minutes walk to old town. Because the guesthouse was not full we could check in early and leave later. Thank you for this!

This is a fantastic place to stay. We were concerned after we read some of the reviews regarding noise. But rest assured this is not an issue. My wife couldn't hear me when I called from the bathroom. The windows are also triple glazed and the pub that caused the noise nearby is now permanently closed. The location is superb, being both near the Riva on the seafront and in the heart of the old town. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. We kept extending our stay so actually stayed in 3 different rooms, including a basic room and a suite. They are all lovely. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Be warned. Split is an ancient city. Every hotel in the old town has no lift. This hotel does, but you walk up 1 flight of stairs to get to it. The hotel is actually built in to the ancient walls. It is stunning. It is down an alley and is a little difficult to find. The access doesn't look too attractive. However, this is more than made up for by all the benefits. It was superb value for money. There is no bar or restaurant, but there are many many places to eat and drink a few steps away. We wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel again. Thank you Plaza Marchi and your fantastic team. Denis and Natalie Morgan

I will always give a true review on here as I rely on them when booking anywhere. Location: the hotel couldn't be in a better location 3 min walk from where a taxi will drop you off , 2 min walk to the Riva, the Palace, game of thrones museum all within 1 min walk and restaurants bars and shops on your door step. The building and rooms : like most of the old town in split the buildings are very old , this hotel is one of the very few if not the only one with an elevator in it, the rooms are absolutely fantastic keeping with the old building but very bright and modern too, every facility is of top quality, I travel a lot and this place was just outstanding. Breakfast: was very nice well presented you had a good range of things to eat and drink The staff: their friendliness was amazing from check in yo check out every member of staff where do helpful, we had our 85 year old mother with us, we went on to the beach and Philip in reception went out of his way to take my mother and get her into a taxi to join us, nothing was too much for the staff or in fact Croatian people in general. I couldn't find fault with anything, the only thing is check out is 1030am and like most flights are in the evening its then a long day. They have a male and female bathroom to get changed in but no shower etc they will keep your luggage beside reception for you . My next visit and I will be going back i will just book the room for an extra day as check out 1030 am flight 2130 pm with an elderly mother its a long day. I give this hotel 10 out 10 Thank you very much
