The distance between the hotel and the office is at least three kilometers. The office is not easy to find, there is no sign. Asked a few talents to find the door of the office, only a few doorbells to open a door for a female reception. Brought to the crowded small office upstairs, gave the room key and an address after paying a cleaning fee of 10 rubles. She didn't look far on the map, she asked if she wanted a taxi. Think about time, just say you are leaving. The waiter did not tell any landmark features, but said to find by address. Did not tell the bus line. As a result, it was impossible to find the English address and the Russian street name. I found more than 40 minutes and asked four or five talents to find it. Because the name of the street is not the same as the address given, it is marked with the number after entering the hutong. It is not recommended that Russian tourists do not know this hotel. Cheaper, too much trouble

I stayed in one of their apartments located right across from the university building, the apartment was very spacious, clean, and had all the amenities including laundry soap and a well equipped mini kitchen, the apartment I stayed in specifically had a separate TV room-office from the kitchen and the sleeping room which makes it very cool. They can do better at reservation managing and check in though, and the only warning i will make is that if you will walk from the office to your spot, ask the reception to have someone take you to the apartment as to avoid getting lost, or clearly show you on a map the location because yandex and google maps can be off often or so I experienced during my stays in Belarus, other than that my time in the flat was great. Clean place, all amenities, great locations, you will not find much better than that for your money!!!

The President Hotel is a large and imposing Soviet era hotel centrally located close to a number of equally large and imposing government buildings but is still only a short walk to areas containing bars and restaurants. Due to its location it is extremely quiet , almost deserted , at night. We had a standard seventh floor room which was warm and spacious. The decor was a bit old fashioned but the fixtures and fittings were good quality. The mini bar was kept well stocked with reasonably priced drinks and snacks. The foyer area is huge and the hotel bar nice but the drinks were far more expensive than bars in the city. It’s listed as a 5* hotel but is more like a good 4* by Western standards. The staff were friendly enough and most spoke English to differing degrees. Tip - don’t order the buffet breakfast as it’s overpriced and a lot of the items were cold when we had that breakfast first morning. Instead order the Continental breakfast , it’s half the price , is tastier and you get served at your table instead. In conclusion I would stay at the President again if visiting Minsk.

My friend in Minsk referred me to this hotel, and suggested that it was a better location than the Western hotels that are down the street. It was a great recommendation. This hotel is nestled into a great area near the main Orthodox cathedral of Minsk. There are quite a few restaurants and a night life surrounding it. Yet it was very quiet. There are bus stops and the central metro station nearby--it is easy to get around! The room was fairly large by European standards--it felt like a Western hotel in that regard. The bed was extremely comfortable. I was here at an ideal time--a warm fall--so I can't comment on A/C or heat as I did not need either one. It looked like it was centrally controlled. The breakfast was superb, with lots of options. The price was very cheap for the quality of the accommodations. If I have one suggestion for improvement, it is better lighting in the bathroom!

The hotel occupies a historical building right in the heart of Minsk. I received a friendly welcome and was checked in in minutes. My single room was of decent size, furnished in a classical way and impeccably clean and fresh. Two large windows and a balcony that opened to Lenin street. The bed was fine, the pillows, however, of low quality. There was a large desk and a separate dinner table for two. Two 0.5 L water bottles were provided and replenished daily. A safe was provided. Wifi, while free and unlimited, was spotty at times. The AC worked okay in moderate summer temperatures but I wonder whether it’s effective enough during a heatwave. The bathroom was also clean and clearly recently renovated. There was a deep bathtub which came with a handheld as well as a wall-mounted shower with good water pressure. All the usual amenities were provided, incuding bath salts and a dental kit. Breakfast was served 8 am – 11 am, but was extremely expensive considering the price level in the city (25 € for buffet, 10 € for continental), so I did not try it. You can basically have a full three-course meal at the Grand Café opposite the hotel for the same price… In the basement, there was a relaxing pool area with a hot tub, swimming pool, Turkish hammam and Finnish sauna, open 7 am – 11 pm. It was very quiet during my stay and so refreshing. An attendat is present at all times, and it’s free of charge for guests. The hotel arranged pick-up from the airport, about 43 km or 35 min away, in a private car for 50 BYN (roughly 18 EUR), a very decent price. This is a service I highly recommend, so you can avoid the taxi scammers at the airport. The driver met me outside customs with a sign carrying my name, and the fee can be paid in the card with a credit card or in cash. The hotel enjoys an excellent location, with most sights within walking distance. There’s a supermarket on the same block and several good restaurants in the vicinity. I liked the city very much and I’m already looking forward to my next trip to Minsk. I’ll be sure to stay at The Europe the next time, as well.

In the days leading up to my stay I had some good dialogue with the hotel, including prompt email responses and helpful advice. I took up the offer of the ‘business class’ transfer from the airport which worked really well. The main airport is some distance from the city but the driver was friendly and able to offer loads of advice on the hours’ journey. The car was good quality with bottled water provided. Despite being quite a bit more costly than a standard taxi it felt worthwhile, if only for the simplicity. Unfortunately upon arrival at the hotel there were no staff at the door to assist with luggage or point out the reception, which isn’t in the initial lobby area. The high ceilings and expansive open area was impressive though, as was the calmness of the whole place. The large water feature in the main lobby / bar area is great and is home to loads of fish which add colour and charm to the space. At the check in desks the staff could speak good English and the arrival process was easy. Given the expansive nature of the hotel, in hindsight, a more thorough overview of the facilities would have been appreciated, especially since the reception was practically empty when I arrived. My room was on the 7th floor, a standard double room. Although being the entry level room I was very impressed by the spaciousness and the balcony overlooking the front of the hotel. Although the balcony wasn’t large enough for any seats or table, and the view wasn’t too inspiring, it certainly made the room feel more high end than the basic option suggested. The desk in the room was large and housed some good stationary as well as the hotel directory. Some more information on the hotel’s restaurants would have been welcome within it though. The room was certainly very comfortable. The TV was a good size with BBC World News as the UK option and the air-conditioning worked well without being noisy. The bed was very large and incredibly comfortable with electric sockets on the bedside units, along with reading lights. In fact there was a lot of options for the lighting in the room which was great. The decor was a good mix of modern and traditional and I could easily have stated there for many nights with the storage offered. A big let down though was, despite being a five-star property, the mini bar was left empty. Phoning up from the room to have it filled was an awful task too - I ended up being put through to room service, who couldn’t speak English, and eventually had drinks brought open on a tray. Certainly the worst experience I’ve had in a hotel and I didn’t bother trying again. The bathroom was certainly the most impressive aspect of the room. Having a separate bath and shower room, both of which were huge, was great. There were plenty of plush towels provided along with loads of toiletries. The shower was a delight to use, coming hot quickly and having nice power and the view from the bath through the window to the room was great. The lobby

In comparison with other hotels in this price range, this one has a lot to offer. I did, however, has several significant issues during my stay. Let’s start with the positive: - Clean - Very nice amenities - Modern room - Comfy bed - Good breakfast - Close to several restaurants On the negatives: - Check-in took 15 minutes to get to the counter... and I was the only one waiting. There should be a better way. - WiFi was basically unusable. This is a huge thing for business travelers!!!! From setup (which was broken) to the actual speed (cut off about 75% of the 6 day stay, or incredibly slow), it was completely unacceptable. - No air conditioning the entire stay (again, 6 days). Again, unacceptable, but worse, it wasn’t mentioned, nor any notification by management if it would ever be on at all. - This may sound odd, but the smell of the body soap/shampoo in the shower was really bad. At first, I thought a prior guest was pranking me. So I emptied it entirely allowing the housekeeper to refill with fresh stock. Nope. It had the scent of vomit. Not exaggerating. Thankfully I travel for work a lot and bring my own just in case. This was the first time I’ve had to use it. - Construction was occurring below my room between 11pm-3:30am. Like drilling the entire time. At 3:30am I ended up going down and moving to another room. Thankfully there was one. Management should just have known they would be making a huge amount of noise, and advised they would be doing this at 11pm. I would have been fine moving and would have considered it polite. At 3:30 when half asleep and hoping to get to work in the morning, dragging all the luggage and stuff, not so much. There are also a number of hotel chains that would consider this a breach of the quiet guarantee and just credit the night. I really do think the hotel is nice. Because of the location, I will probably end up staying there, or nearby. But I really do hope they take some of these experiences and addresses them. American business travelers need, at minimum, working internet. The main issue, in particular, is not proactively alerting the customer about issues affecting their stay, fixing them (if possible), and showing some effort to ameliorate or be apologetic about the conditions. I hope this does get better.

It was my first time in this hotel as our event was taking place in this hotel. I booked a room for 1.5 days. Hotel is from old times and i guess it was subjected to extensive renovation. Smell of soviet times is still there, however rooms are clean, normally furnished and bathrooms are fine as well. Reception area is sort of a mess, with a cafe full of people and few offices including currency exchange. Staff at the reception is helpful, although i did not need much, just to pay and get late check-out for a pay. Location is very central, 15 minutes walk to old town. There are few nice place to eat and drink on the same avenue. For the price i paid stay was rather good, and not much to complain about.

It's a great location and a great place to stay, central and not too far away from the CBD - 2.5 km - and on a major route with frequent buses, close to major attractions and sites especially Victory Park across the road and the Great Patriotic War Museum, a short walk away. The fourth floor room was clean, modern, air conditioned and had a free wifi (a life saver until I bought a data SIM card), TV and bar fridge, separate bathroom and toilet and was cleaned daily. The staff were friendly and courteous even with limited English. I used Uber quite a bit as it was super cheap (by Australian standards). The down side to the hotel - not many - there were no tourism/sight seeing brochures at reception and staff spoke little and broken English which meant they could not answer questions. The restaurant food was OK but nothing stood out. Would I stay there again? Yes and definitely recommended!

It was not easy to find a family room in Minsk during the European games. Prices grew up everywhere around the city. So, the East Time hotel was a great solution to my problems. The hotel is simple but new. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. The hotel is very quiet. Breakfast is simple but correct and included into the price. I really enjoyed my 2 nights stay. Thanks a lot!

Very nice, clean, modern and convenient hotel. Swimming pool was closed unfortunately during my stay ( planned outage )without any prior announcement on Booking.com when I made my booking .... Reception staff is very professional and positive. Lobby bar not very convenient nor good place for relax in the evening, barman is more negaged with his phone and friends than with clients. No coctalils served. Restaurant .... another sad experience ... breakfasts with rather moderate selection but OK in general. Went there for dinner as well, food was reasonably OK, environment is not very convincing, service rather unprofessional, not attentive.... waiter spending most probably more time checking his look and haircut than servinf clients. I was there almost alone and waining 30 minutes to get any atrention seems to be a standard ... Management of the hotel should be working on quality of the staff. Nice hotel, but staff i. restaurant and bar should be replaced on the spot.
