Kyrenia
|2.59km from city centerOld colonial style hotel, quite charming but not accessible for wheel-chair users. There is a lift, but not all floors can be reached and the pool is 40 steps down from the hotel. However, the pool is excellent, large, clean, plenty of sun loungers, good bar; snacks can also be ordered. Big terrace with great views over the Harbour. Adequate buffet meals. Little shuttle train into the center of the town. Also plenty of taxis. Most of the staff speak reasonable to good English. The small beach is not very attractive - Harbour, not open sea.

|2.66km from city center12/16 haziran tarihleri arasında buradaydım.

|2.08km from city centerThis hotel is integrated with the casino. On the whole, you can choose to sleep for one night. If you are staying for a few nights, it is still prudent. The rooms and facilities are outdated, the hotel waiters have basically no sense of service, they just park in front of the hotel, the breakfast wife is average, domestic Samsung level, but it is worth mentioning that the three peppers for breakfast are really delicious and sweet! However, it's weird to eat peppers early in the morning! The hotel area is not small, the scenery is soaring

|1.88km from city centerThe hotel is nestled into the tight streets of the old city. The rooms are smaller but had all we needed and we were only a short walk from the shops, water and restaurants What really made the hotel was the wonderful and attentive service provided by Ertan, he provided directions, recommendations, transfers and help with our luggage. Breakfast was a delicious local platter a couple of doors down from the hotel entrance. It was our first trip to Kyrenia and the location of the hotel made it enjoyable and accessible for us. We were there over a weekend and the noise did not bother us, we did not find it intrusive and we were not expecting silence in that location.

|2.06km from city centerWe have recently returned from two weeks staying at Altinkaya. Altinkaya is somewhat of a conundrum as the grounds are beautifully maintained and it has a pleasant swimming pool. We stayed in the hotel on the first floor at the back of the building. The room was quiet and had a view of the mountains , although somewhat obscured by the tall trees that edge along the hotels boundary . The room was basic with a tiny fridge which was barely cold, the air conditioning worked well. There was a kettle and two mugs that had been hidden away in a cupboard , complimentary tea and coffee were not provided nor any drinking glasses, although upon asking the bar man happily gave us two wine glasses . Neither the glasses or mugs were replenished with fresh ones during our stay. The bathroom consisted of a narrow bath with an over the bath shower which was generally cold or luke warm. The cleaning and replacing of towels and bedding was very hit and miss and I had to ask for our bathroom to be cleaned properly after it not having been cleaned for several days. The pool was pleasant but unfortunately the mattresses on the loungers were grubby and some of the parasols filthy and appeared to be smeared with mud. The food in the restaurant was fresh but repetitive and basic. Staffing seemed thin on the ground but they were pleasant and happy to help. Information on trips and activities in the reception area is out of date , we asked about Horse riding and were told this had not resumed following covid , yet the poster remained during the entirety of our stay. The communal areas in the hotel looked very nice and we sat inside the bar ( which I think is used during the cooler months ) whilst there was a heavy storm one evening. The lounge area has a good library of books and there is a large new restaurant. In conclusion Altinkaya has the potential to be a great hotel it just needs some attention to detail.

|2.59km from city centerI want to begin by saying that the bar staff, pool staff, cleaners etc. are the friendliest, most welcoming people and so this review does not reflect on them at all.
So we booked for 2 adults and 1 child (13years) through trip.com. After an overnight flight and being extremely tired, we finally arrived at reception to be told that no, we had only booked for 2 adults.
We quickly showed the reception staff our email which said '2 adults, 1 child (13years)'. The man on reception told us that there was a comma and not a plus sign and so that meant that it wasn't plus 1 child. This completely baffled as why would the email have a child and age if not booked regardless of commas/+ signs and we continued to insist that we had booked for all of us.
After some back and forth, he decided to ring the manager who promptly said that it wasn't something she would accept and that we would have to pay extra for our child.
The man told us this and said that as we hadn't booked through the hotel, this wasn't his problem and that I could take it up with trip.com.
Now, 2 flights, no sleep and the fact that I have various conditions that effect my mental health so much that I am registered disabled, I admit I responded harshly at this point.
How can you advertise through a 3rd party website, be shown the confirmation, and still tell paying customers that this is your problem, not mine? Even if this were true, wouldn't a more appropriate response be 'You clearly have a booking and have come a long way, let's get you settled in a room and then we can either contact trip.com or help you contact them to get this sorted out'?
I then asked to speak to the manager myself- the member of staff phoned her but she refused to come to the phone and said if we were unhappy, to cancel our booking and then shut the phone. Cancel and go where with what money? Were we supposed to walk back to London in order to have somewhere safe to sleep?
There was no budge and around an hour after arrival, we were told by trip.com to pay the extra and they would refund us. Kudos to them, we were refunded within 2 days and they were extremely helpful.
After all of this, there were so many issues with the hotel itself - street digs in the pool, ceiling in living room crumbling and falling, dirty sheets and tiles, the shower flooded every day and at one point was a waterfall down the stairs into the living room and we had to use wvery towel we had to soak it all up, ants everywhere, the list is endless and I have added pictures so people can see it for themselves.
I am so disappointed the whole experience was an absolute shambles.
To top it all off, I was telling a friend who lives in Cyprus and he knew the owner. He phoned the owner to tell him and the next day we were offered a free meal as an apology - so just because I had a contact, and the owner told you off, you give me a gesture of goodwill? What if I hadn't known anyone, would this gesture have even existed? Or would you have just told us it wasn't your problem? We refused.
Disgraceful.

|1.77km from city centerWe read some bad reviews before booking and still decided to try this hotel. And we were absolutely pleased with everything. The management obviously made some improvements since 2017. Well done. Decent breakfast with a wide choice of food and a coffee machine. Many restaurants nearby, on the main road. Friendly staff (especially the Iranian woman at the reception) After we left Park Palace hotel, we also stayed in other 3 places and we reckon it was the best hotel on our holiday in Cyprus. We recommend it to anyone, who is looking for a budget hotel room in Kyrenia.

|4.26km from city centerArrived early hours of the morning around 2am, after travelling all day, taxi dropped us at the closed part of the hotel, it then took us another hour to actually find reception, so automatically it was a bad start, got to reception and was greeted by a lovely guy who got us checked in prompt and helped us to our room. Room was clean and spacious, we got a main hotel room, lovely view from balcony. I originally asked for a low level room but upon arrival none was available, but I was left a lovely letter explaining the situation so I stayed in the room given as not to give the hotel the bother of moving us. But the letter was a very personal touch. Breakfast is traditional turkish style breakfast, with a choice of eggs after, very nice breakfast with delicious lemon juice. Food from the cafe is also beautiful and very reasonably priced. Pool was quiet and relaxing, very easy to find a sunbed, guy who sits at the pool will go get you drinks, food etc Leaving early morning to come home and the hotel kindly made us sandwiches for our travels Thank you Topset for a lovely relaxing stay :)

|1.71km from city centerWhat an amazing hotel, from the minute we checked in! The room was a standard room on the 3rd floor over looking the front of the hotel on the main road with large patio doors which opened to allow fresh air in whilst you watched the world go by late in the evening, the room was spacious and clean with a coffee/tea facilities and a well stocked mini bar (prices were not excessive), selection of toiletries, and large bathroom towels. The room was the perfect temperature being able to set the air con to suit. The rooftop pool was wonderful and a good size, staff were continually checking the area for unused sunbeds, changing towels etc and drinks could be ordered to consume around the pool Breakfast, was hot and cold and self service, with such an amazing selection, the hot selection was changed each day to try and offer variety. One of the best breakfasts I have experience, it even offered fresh honey in honeycomb. The service at breakfast was one of the best I have experienced, such friendly and helpful waiters and waitresses. What more can I say, apart from we will be rebooking!

|1.7km from city centerStayed here for one week in October. The weather was extremely hot during our stay. We arrived early hours of the morning due to a late Easy Jet flight into Larnica then hanging around for our private transfer driver. The journey across the border wasn’t too bad but most of it across open farm land in the pitch black which was quite unnerving. I booked a superior room in the new wing above the restaurant. The room was modern, large & with a small balcony where I sat in the morning with my coffee watching the sun rise. Being at the back of the hotel, there was no issue with noise. We were on a bed & breakfast tariff as eating out in Northern Cyprus is very reasonable. Most of the guests staying here were either frequent returning guests, part of a tour group or only visiting for a few days to Gamble at the ****** next door or for cheap cosmetic surgery! Getting a sun bed around the pool was not an issue and there was a large bar/snack bar where there were plenty of tables and chairs with many in shady spots. The bar staff came around the pool for drinks/snacks orders too. All the staff were helpful and very friendly. You could walk into the old town from this hotel but because of the heat we got a taxi. We did an organised trip to Famagusta and the Ghost Town. We took a taxi to Kyriena castle and a taxi to Belapaise Monastery. All worth doing. Glad I booked this hotel instead of down in the Old Town. Other couples we spoke to that were in hotels down town complained about the constant traffic noise. Plenty of eateries within a short walk but watch out, the pavements are very uneven and a lot are broken too. Unfortunately the harbour area was still closed off due to overrunning completion which was a shame but looked like it was nearly finished.

|2km from city centerWe have visited North Cyprus may times and know and love the island. Having been together for 28 years we were married in August this year and decided to go for our 'honeymoon' to North Cyprus this, after a 4 year gap. Flight and hotels booked we had to cancel due to health concerns and after a wait and an all-clear were able re-book all. We chose the Dome, knowing the hotel but not having stayed there before. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the town and on the seafront, a stones throw from the newly renovated Venetian harbour. On arrival we received a wonderful warm welcome and our cases were whisked up to our room. We had been told that we would have a nice room with a large balcony. To our amazement were were shown into a large suite, traditionally furnished with a large super comfortable bed a jacuzzi bath, and huge balcony this was accompanied by a large platter of fruit. The hotel itself is traditional with original beautiful interior stained glass panels. The hotel is clean and well maintained. There was a huge selection of food at the buffet breakfast and we were able to enjoy it outside looking at the pool and surrounding sea. Swimming was a joy, the sea was warm and crystal clear. There is a seawater pool and steps down into the sea for swimm from the hotel decking area built over the rocks. A bit hard to describe, you have to see photos. Finally but not least, we can't thank Diler (on reception) for making us feel so welcome and special thoughout our whole stay. Can’t wait to go back.

|1.23km from city centerI informed Lavanta Residence through the Booking.com service (there is a reservation print indicating 2 adults +1 child 12 years old!) about the number of guests and the time of arrival (22:00). To our surprise, the receptionist, after consulting with the owner, suggested that 3 guests stay in a cramped double room, or pay for 1 more room, separating the family. Late at night, in a state of extreme fatigue, I was forced to urgently look for a new hotel. I lost time, suffered financially, paid for the negligence of the hotel with my vacation. please take appropriate measures and prevent this from happening in the future
