My wife and I made a journey to Louisville for the first time -- and having gone to other cities and experiencing less than stellar stays at a variety of hotel chains, we resigned ourselves from two nights to one night in Louisville, fearing the worse. Upon researching other hotels and motels, which were disappointing -- we came across Red Roof Fair and Expo. It seemed to have more on the ball in regard to reviews than the others we came across, so we booked the room. Man...what a great choice! Upon arrival, we were checked in by Ashley, who had a natural warm demeanor, and was just overall awesome. She was friendly, understanding (also multi-lingual -- VERY cool) and courteous, and went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of. The room was clean, smelled fresh, was bug-free, and accommodating...a welcome surprise from other chains we'd been to recently. The housekeepers really care, and prepare the rooms to perfection. The few we encountered during our stay were very friendly, also. Later in the evening, there were some hooligans that checked in next door, and caused a bit of a ruckus outside on the balcony -- but, one call to the front desk, and it was handled...we never heard another peep. It was great that the staff was so adamant about our concerns. Checkout was easy, and Ashley was there that morning, so I thanked her for her attention to detail in regard to customer service, and let her know we will gladly be back the next time we're down that way. I wholeheartedly recommend this location. You will not regret it. Thank you Ashley!

The hotel is very close to the airport and the highway is also very easy to find. The room is the standard for the Holiday Inn Express, clean, the bed is comfortable, and there are some. Gas stations, convenience stores, drugstores, supermarkets, McDonald's, etc. are all within a few minutes of driving. The choice of breakfast is also standard for the same type of hotel, the restaurant is much more spacious than other hotels. The only thing that feels a little worse is that the front desk staff at the check-in desk is indifferent, has no smile, and is not particularly friendly.

Booked online for family to see thunder on Ohio, front desk lady checks me im then asks how many adults I say 2. She says other guests name I say Adrian. She says ”where is he!” I say well she's disabled so she's waiting in my car. This woman starts screaming furiously ” if he disabled then how will he get up stairs!” I calmly said calm down I'll just help her up the stairs. I repeatedly said please just let me go get her if you need her While she says stay right there! Every time I looked outside she keeps screaming no! You stay right there! She gets on her phone says” I have security check your car for him where is he!” By now other guests gathered to laugh at me getting yelled at by her while her ”security” looked more like her husband, wandered through the parking lot looking for a man with my wife's name evidently. She was just too irate to communicate with. I finally said look please just refund me. She prints a refund points to the door yelling get out! While other guests laughed. I walk past her ”security” mugging me all menacingly to my wife and tried to explain why we had to leave. We were well dressed in a new car, well behaved. It was appauling. It all but ruined our very expensive trip to thunder. Wife was very upset. The extended stay was like heaven for a few bucks more.

This is not a place I would recommend to anyone. The front desk person and I were talking and he told me that at one point they had to close a room because there was a meth lab in it. The doors leading in from the parking lot slammed shut, all night long. This is something a maintenance person should know how to fix. They ran out of food and coffee at breakfast, mind you there were no big events happening. The room was dirty, not the worst I have seen but bad enough. There was no way to set the temperature in the room. Just am old knob heater, like a space heater. It was either way hot or freezing, because it wasn't shutting off on its own when the room got hot. I made this reservation thinking I would give Quality Inn one more try after a few not so great stays for work travel...huge mistake. I will never stay at another Quality Inn. Choice Hotels should remove them from thier apps.

I have stayed at this hotel several times and have never been disappointed. This time was good but not great. The front desk people were rude and my pre requested shower seat was ignored . But the hotel is exceptionally clean, the rooms are wonderful, the beds really comfortable and all around this is a gem. The standout part is the little restaurant with a nice buffet and fresh cooked meals too. The food is so good and such a nice place to start the day. The service in the restaurant is outstanding and they are very nice people too. If you stay here, don’t skip breakfast.

Excellent low spot rooms were clean well-kept linen was spotless the front desk Clerks tend to stare at you too much when you come downstairs for breakfast, and they hawk-eye your plates as if you're not going to eat a sausage biscuit and a bagel would you pay $6 for if you order on this website here. Either way, hot shower totally worth it, neighbors are quiet my room was near the elevator, and it didn't smell like a locker room in the fitness center. Although it was an excellent day and I was very happy, even extended by a day. I think you'll love it oh, it's typical Ramada Style at a price we can all afford!

I booked a stay here for two nights while I was in Louisville for business. Overall it was very positive experience. The hotel was very modern, clean, and welcoming. The front desk staff, Pamela and Andrea, or an absolute pleasure to work with. They welcomed me as if they were welcoming me into their home. I guess it’s that southern hospitality that is very rare in New England where I’m from. There were just a few things that were a little confusing about my stay. Unless you park on the street, you have to use their parking garage, which has a sign posting their rates. There was a sensor where guests can swipe their room key, but because I hadn’t checked in yet I was thinking I was going to have to pay for parking. They only told me at the front desk that they could void out the ticket. Also they told me breakfast was complementary in the morning, but as I finished up my meal I got a bill for $16.95. I paid the bill with my credit card, and only found out upon check out that they credited the cost of my bill back to me on my invoice. The breakfast attendant even asked for my room number when she saw me getting food. If she could validate my stay, I find it odd that she’d give me a bill instead of just waving the charge on the back end. It was just a little confusing. The quality of the breakfast was less than satisfactory as well. The bacon and eggs were good, but the home fries were processed and the bread items were a little stale. The coffee was way too strong as well. Other than the breakfast and the parking situation, it was a very pleasant day and I would not hesitate to book with them again.

I made a 2 night reservation through Hilton Honors. Get there to check in and clerk says she can't find my reservation. I spelled my last name for her several times then gave her my drivers license. She shook her head but I guess she finally found it because she gave me two room keys. We get to the room and it was warm so I turned the thermostat down and went to a ball game. Came back late and room still warm. We slept through it even though it was uncomfortable because we had already unpacked and were dead tired. Next morning I advised front desk about A/C and clerk looked everywhere for a pen/pencil to write down my room number but then she said ”I'll remember”. Well I guess she didn't. We came back late again very tired and guess what? Neither room key worked!! When I went back downstairs to front desk, clerk said they put me down as a ”no-show” even though our stuff was still in the room from the previous night and I had a 2 night reservation! After several minutes of finding my reservation again, she apologized and fixed keys. I went back up to the room, opened the door and guess what? It was hot, no towels, and beds unmade! I sent my wife down to speak to clerk because I had had enough by then. Wife came back with a new room key so we packed our stuff and moved down the hall. That room was just OK. Breakfast was very Days-Inn-ish and I was ready to leave that place. Will stay somewhere else next time.

We spent a night at the Seelbach due to the history of the hotel. What we received was beyond expectations. Not only was there a lot of Information available throughout the hotel, David T. went way above to provide a 1-1 tour. After returning from dinner, we stopped to ask about the Rathskeller. David not only provide the history, but brought us to the Oak Room and the private card room that Al Capone used. We were blown away by his knowledge and the service he provided. David’s extra mile made our minds that this will be the hotel we will stay at for future trips to Louisville

In the past I have depended on my fellow TripAdvisors, and I thank all of you. Therefore, I am doing my part now. Sometimes we have to travel, and it is good to know when their is a safe place to stay. During Covid, we have declined many family events, but this one we felt we needed to attend. We booked three rooms: a King, and a Double Queen which adjoined our King two-room suite. When we came to the hotel, we were greeted warmly and safely. Each room was spacious and clean. The bathroom has lots of counter space around the sink for getting ready before an event. The two-room King was especially nice with a bar sink, mirror, microwave, and refrigerator. The beds were super comfortable. There are other Marriott properties next door, but there was no noise. There is a major shopping center/restaurants nearby. There was coffee and muffins available downstairs. I warmed my blueberry muffin in the microwave and it hit the spot. It has been a week since we were there and the only two who are sick played with the toddler with the runny nose. :)

We had to stay an extra night during the state fair last year, and all the hotels were booked. We got there late, and the desk was between shifts. We got to the last room, and when we went to our room, it was filthy. The beds had been slept in, and someone had taken a bath and left their towels on the floor. I returned to the desk, got clean sheets and towels, and cleaned the room myself. The front desk person said she would add a discount to my room for the trouble. We went to bed and got up early the following day. I went downstairs to grab some coffee to return to the room, and breakfast was set up in a hotel room. It was meager and looked so dirty I just turned around and left. When I got upstairs - my family was dealing with a toilet that would not flush and was on the verge of overflowing. I went back downstairs to ask if there was another bathroom we could use, and I was told nope. Sorry. We packed up and left the hotel before seven that morning. When I got the bill, I noticed I did not receive any credit for the dirty room. I was then told they could not give me credit because the manager would not be back until the following week. So if you enjoy dirty rooms, rude desk staff, toilets that don’t work, and a sketchy neighborhood, then this is the hotel for you.

The hotel is beautiful and in a good location on 4th Street. Multiple restaurants and bars to eat but be sure to set reservations. The beds were comfortable but the sheets were very stiff and there was no thick comforter. Parking can be a little confusing, more signage needs to be visible because of valet and everything else the parking garages are hard to see. We had a larger vehicle and had to use a different parking garage, and due to all the valet in the front part you couldn't see where that parking garage was therefore we ended up parking in public parking garage down the road. Hotel staff was good about this and refunded us for the hotel parking so we was not double charged. One thing that I noticed that would be a big help to visitors is more signage within the hotel and parking garage. The hotel is very large and all the floors look the same so you can get quite turned around with which Tower you're going to or where the restaurants are located. For example, it would be good to have some signage inside the elevators so that you know which floors have access to which restaurants/skywalk. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will be staying here again.

Deciding to end our long drive from Charlotte, NC to Minneapolis, MN it was a last minute hotel decision. The location was based totally because of proximity to Costco. As gas prices are a bit steep and we wanted the most economical price. I also based my choice on the good food options mentioned in previous reviews. I was not sure how late we would arrive and food would be needed. Fortunately, we arrived at the hotel about 7pm. Tara who greeted us at reception was very kind. Unfortunately bar and restaurant were closed as it was a Sunday. After getting settled in our room we internet searched the area for restaurants that were full service and open. Again we were lucky to find Captain’s Quarters only 11 minutes away and situated on the river. Great! The hotel was very clean and Covid aware. It was not busy. We didn’t have time for breakfast the next morning so I can’t comment. The staff was so helpful, putting my ice blocks in their freezer and giving me other tips and suggestions of things to do in Louisville. I hope to take them up on their suggestions someday. We will mark this hotel as a place to stay on our travels back and forth from the north too the south or the other direction. The location is great. The Paddock Mall and its amenities next door are very inviting.

I sent a review to IHG about this Staybridge hotel and never received a reply. I wanted them to know how bad the hotel was being maintained! We reserved a suite since there were 3 of us--2 little children and 3 adults. The entire suite was awful! Dirt/lint on the walls and closet door near the air vent in 1 bedroom--like the air vent and filters have never been cleaned. Stains on the pillow case in bedroom 2. The entire suite smelled like cigarette smoke--we noticed tape on the wall where the smoke detector had been covered and the window was open when we arrived. Ottoman was broken and a closet door was simply propped up by the closet and in disrepair/broken. We requested another room and that was no better. Sheets on one bed were dirty and appeared to have been walked on--shoe prints. Bathroom sink was cracked. Hair was on the pillow case in the second bedroom. Furniture was worn, spider webs on the window. The main door handle was broken. Clock as sitting with the battery pulled out. We requested our $ back and the desk clerk nicely provided a credit right away. We then booked 2 rooms at Drury, just down the road which was wonderful!! Clean, clean, clean! Definitely recommend Drury.

Let me start by sharing that I have over 25 years in the customer service industry starting as front line and currently as an executive - my point being this compliment is not random. This hotel is in a good location, has the usual amenities, and all that plus a great restaurant. However what makes it my return trip of choice is the staff… I want to call out a few by name. Jonathan at the front deck… he is FANTASTIC.. I sure hope the mngt realize this!! Goes above and beyond, and should be recognized. Next Alex and Victoria … at the restaurant on the 8th… I sure hope they are recognized too… so many times I have witnessed above and beyond service - even when its busy! The cleaning staff.. .the ladies at the breakfast… wow… for a return traveler it feels like home… and for those doing a bourbon trip - this is a great place, you will not go wrong!

We stayed here after going to the World of Wheels car show at the KY Expo Center. Lisa at the desk was extremely friendly; I asked her about places to eat and she was helpful, giving us areas to stay away from and telling us about local places as we like to eat local and not chain. There was mild airplane noise; I know that's a concern and I live in an extremely rural area so I worried that any noise would keep me awake since I wouldn't be used to it. We were there on a weekend night so maybe less planes (?) I found the room to be clean. One small area in the bathroom where the shower curtain doesn't meet with the wall seemed to have some water damage. We did not take advantage of the free breakfast.
