The hotel room is very old. The location and environment are very good. However, after the departure, the authorization deposit was deducted for more than 28 US dollars. No one mentioned it, including Ctrip and the hotel front desk. I don't know why the previous comments didn't mention Everyone should pay attention to when considering hotels.

At first, the room was on the second floor. I did n’t know what the hotel ’s equipment was outside the window. The sound was particularly loud. It was too noisy at night. I spoke to the front desk the next day and changed to the 9th floor. The scenery outside the window was beautiful. The hotel is right next to the pier. There are a lot of yachts parked at the pier, and the sound of seals can be heard. The hotel parking is charged separately. There is also a parking service for guests, because the parking lot at the hotel door is full. We use it every day. Parking is very convenient for guests. When parking, the waiter will give you a parking sign. When you pick up the car, you can give it to the person responsible for picking up the car. This service should be tipped. Give us 1 dollar.

This hotel is very well located by the sea, very close to the Sea World, and the hotel has a shuttle bus to Sea World every day. The room we booked was the cheapest room, the room type was similar to the motel in the United States, the room was clean, two queen beds, air conditioning, refrigerator, coffee machine, microwave and safe. Breakfast is a buffet of $15 and there are not many varieties. There is a parking lot to pay. The service staff was very good. I was afraid that we could not find the room. We also took us in the past and the language exchange was very patient. In short, we were very satisfied.

Our dogs had the best time!!! The hotel had convenient access to Dog Beach and plenty of pet friendly restaurants close by. The green space for dogs was so nice and they made new doggie friends. The room was clean and it was quiet, we hardly heard any other dogs bark. The grounds felt safe and embraced the whole Ocean Beach vibe.

I was looking for a hotel that was on the beach in San Diego, reason it was for a girls trip and I wanted the convenience of the beach. I looked at so many places between Carlsbad and Coronado for the right hotel; many had a number of disappointing reviews etc, and so I figured as I got closer to leaving for SD I had to book a hotel ASAP. I picked the Surfer Beach Hotel and I am so happy I did. If you have ever been to Pacific Beach you know that it has a boardwalk and lots of places to eat and drink; well all of them are a 3 star hotel status (well in my eyes) due to wear and tear of being by the ocean. We arrived later (10:30pmish) on a Thursday and they emailed me on Thursday morning to confirm our arrival time (I appreciate this so much as I knew someone would be there). When we arrived the front desk person was so helpful and nice, we got our keys and headed to our double bed Ocean view. When I opened the door I was in the bathroom (no joke) and then the beds, small room and dated. It's not modern (except the bathroom was upgraded - shower area only) or fancy. I was not sure at that time if I made the right choice, went to bed and woke up to the most beautiful sound of the waves and a view you can't beat. I texted my sister and told her the hotel was quaint to set her expectations. I wasn't sure she would like it; but if we are being honest you barely spend time in the room anyways because there is so much to do. It's in a location where you can walk to food, bars, get surf lessons, shop all of it. If you don't plan on exploring other areas of SD forget renting a car because you don't need it, you can walk to everything including the grocery store (Ralph's - 2 blocks away). I saw tons of gripes about having to pay $30 for parking but when you get there and realize the area the hotel is in you are going to pay for parking no problem. This is a hotel that you need to request housekeeping, the pool is not heated, and if you are particular about your shower items bring those as well. If you can get over the ”aged” look of the hotel you will be fine. The rooms are clean, the bed is comfortable and the view is to die for. If you are paying those $250+ prices for these rooms get the view. I am going to make this an annual trip each year and stay here particularly; they care about you and your stay.

My wife and I, along with my oldest daughter and her husband stayed at Ocean Park last week. We had rooms next to each other on the 3rd floor with ocean views (which I recommend). Naturally we're in the midst of covid restrictions and all that implies. Having said that... The rooms were great! A lot of thought has gone into even small details of the room design. One of those small details is the light switch on each side of the bed is easy to reach and you don't have to go searching for an outlet for your phone charger. As a matter of fact, the outlets have 2 USB ports. There was a refrigerator in our room. There was also a pull-out couch. The shower pressure wasn't going to penetrate your skin, but was adequate. Compliments of covid, you have to go down to the desk to order new towels to be delivered to your room. That isn't exclusive to this hotel -- that's standard operating procedure these days. The 'continental' breakfast consisted of a sealed paper bag with an apple, orange, a bottle of water and something else. The desk has them and you have to ask for it. They also have discounts for military and old farts like myself. Everyone, from the manager to the other desk personnel were very friendly. There is a 7-11 and other stores easily within walking distance from the hotel. The parking will cost you $20.00 per day. It's in an underground parking garage and you can load your luggage and take it up the elevator. The view of the ocean and the sound of the ocean when you leave your patio door open is outstanding. Unfortunately the sound of the local homeless population is something we contended with. Beginning early in the morning they are loud (and sometimes profane). They homestead along the wall below. They can be entertaining at times however. One guy we referred to as, 'Captain Jack Sparrow' had a pirate hat, a red cape and black boots like you would wear to a costume party. When we mentioned it to hotel management they said to be sure to contact them when that happens and they will call the police to deal with it. Might want to keep that in mind. Most of the local 'entertainment' are pretty non-intrusive. They pretty much keep to themselves and don't do cat calls at your wife and daughters. They didn't do any cat calls or whistle at me either. I may not have been there type. Seriously, aside from the early morning noise (I can only assume they are all mostly deaf and that's why they have to yell when they talk), they weren't much of a factor. There are beachside shops all along the walkway to shop at. Fun to shop at. The bottom line is, the next time we visit San Diego you can bet we'll be staying at Ocean Park Inn if available. If not for the noisy early morning chatter I would have given them a 5 rating. I will enclose some photos. Keep in mind the room was much neater before we started to 'live' in it. It's much nicer than the photos of the room would suggest.

I spent 7 nights during the GBTA Convention here at the Moxy and had a good time. Only the noise due to the ventilation system was annoying. Great bar and staff and nice location with lots of games to play at night. Breakfast was good too and not too expensive. Short distances to all locations in San Diego. Especially convention center and Gaslamp District.

The hotel is relatively close to UCSD. It is about 10 minutes walk to the Sixth College, and there are whole food, pharmacy, movie theater and gas station within 6 minutes away. The hotel’s swimming pool and the jacuzzi next to the pool are great, and there is also a bar next to the pool. When the bonfire is lit in the evening, it feels particularly good. Very suitable for drinking and chatting ~ very comfortable. It’s not very hot in San Diego in August, especially at night. The swimming pool is still very cold, so it's good to go to the bubble bath and grill. The hotel is divided into west building and north building, with different scenery on both sides. Some rooms have bathtubs and some do not. There are shops like Starbucks downstairs. Very convenient for communication and travel~ I have stayed in other hotels in San Diego, I have only stayed in this one in the city, but I feel like I will stay here next time I travel.

The location is great, in the gaslamp quarter. About half an hour walk from the famous Balboa Park. It is not too far from the port of San Diego. Many bars and restaurants downstairs. Good is very convenient, and bad is very noisy at night. The choice for nightlife is right here. The music downstairs is a lot of Latin and there are street bands. Okay. The staff were very welcoming. Will organize a city tour. Breakfast is average, no milk. The decoration is very unique, the patio is very warm, but unfortunately there is no time to enjoy. The hotel is really good and the location is quite good. The grade is absolutely no problem, the landscape is quite good. More generally, the surrounding area is not convenient, there is no other surrounding, the landscape along the coastline, but since you have chosen this scenery, the surrounding is not good. It must be criticized that the reservation did not say that there is a need for RESORT FEE, nearly 40 dollars, parking for 36 dollars. This price is totally different. A little foolish feeling.

No one at the front desk after 11 o'clock, remember to confirm with the hotel in advance. Breakfast is mainly bread and yoghurt. It ’s no problem to be full. The bathroom is super large. There is a separate kitchen in the dormitory room for many people. The stove is complete, which means less utensils. You can make the seafood you buy. Remember to buy the seasoning yourself. The only problem with the room was the lack of heating. The location is in Little Italy, and buses and trams are nearby.

If you are planning to go fishing out of Fisherman’s landing or H&M and don’t want to travel a long distance and then hop on a boat at 5AM, this hotel is perfect. Bonus is no parking hassles, there is plenty of secure parking in the lot. This hotel is literally 100 yards directly across the street from Fisherman’s Landing and H&M tackle shops and the dock the sport fleet leaves from. Also walking distance to several restaurants and a great brewery. There is a small pool but no jacuzzi. No view unless you get a room facing the harbor. Staff is nice and there is a tiny self serve area to buy snacks and beverages by the front desk. The property is old and the room shows its age. Could use some updates and if you were bringing the wife n kids, this is probably not the place for you but for me, going fishing and just wanting a place to sleep before and after a long 1.5 days at sea, it served its purpose. When I go on another fishing trip, i will check into staying here again.

We'll definitely stay here whenever visiting San Diego. This was our second visit and we couldn't have been more pleased. Our room was very clean. We stayed in a room with a king sized bed, overlooking the pool and waterfront. Our experience with staff was fantastic. It was nice to experience great customer service, which seems to be lacking in todays world. Kudos to staff!! The location of the hotel worked perfect for us. The only thing I would like to see is to add a makeup mirror in the bathroom. At least our room didn't have one. We were celebrating an anniversary and staff left us a treat in our room, which was very thoughtful. THANK YOU Courtyard San Diego Airport/Liberty Station!!!!!

Nice hotel. Everything is clean and up to date. Hotel has an included breakfast (typical hotel type). Convenient location in hotel circle makes it easy to get to where you're going each day. You do have to drive a little for most dining options. Parking is $20 per night (depending on who checks you in they may reduce it to $10, but make sure they actually do that on your bill. I've had them say that and then when I check my credit card they charged the full amount). That's why they only get 2 stars for service on this trip.

Uncomfortable bed which gave me a backache, housekeeping services every 4 days unless you request it, ran out of shower gel and shampoo, room wasn't super clean. Bathroom sink so clogged up I simply used the bathtub to clean up and brush my teeth. Maintenance did correct the issue. When I asked for more shampoo and shower gel I did get a short refill. Balconies are REALLY tiny. Surprise after my trip that I had to pay for parking! This was a pre-paid in full business trip and the fact that you had to pay for parking was an after-the-fact unhappy update. I didn't even have a vehicle the entire time.

The hotel manager is quite rude! It is estimated that he discriminates against the country. I was maliciously opposed to me that morning because I complained to their hotel headquarters that the air conditioner was not muted and the carpet was cleaned. At the time I was working on the documents in the lobby, he asked me to go back to my room immediately! Later, two staff members told me with a tough attitude that they should find them. Not only will I not find them, I will complain to them at this headquarters!

Admittedly, we selected this hotel because it was the best price in the area and was very close to Petco Park. Since we were in San Diego to attend a game, it was an easy decision. Our room was fine but fairly small. The bathroom was quite large and very nice. (I would have settled for a slightly smaller bathroom with larger room.) Our friends' room was even smaller. The rooftop bar had a great view and was very nicely set up. The one big negative I had....It was advertised online and in the elevator that the Bistro offered drinks and food throughout the day. The reality was that, due to limited staffing, it was closed. Complimentary coffee was available there....if you were lucky enough to find it. We were later told to just wave down the front desk person to get more coffee. I understand that, due to Covid, places are short staffed. I let them know that they need to change their web site since we were expecting to find a place within the hotel to grab coffee and snacks or a few bites. Otherwise, we were able to walk to so much in the area.

The environment is good, very comfortable, the room is very clean, the service attitude of the handsome guy at the front desk is excellent, I have stayed here again and again, and won my heart. It is very close to UCSD, which is great.

Overall, I'd give the hotel a 6 out of 10 rating. The property was nice, centrally located, clean, and I'd definitely book it again in the future. There were a few things that were inconvenient, such as the laundry room was unavailable, the breakfast room is closed until further notice, and the service was a little slow, but other than those few negatives, our stay was peaceful and enjoyable!

The hotel was great, clean, and convenient. It will be even better when all of the amenities open, but I was happy with my recent stay there because it’s the perfect central location and was safe. I recommend this hotel for anyone looking for convenience and reasonable pricing at a nice hotel.
