But for the British Airways strike, we wouldn't have needed to book a night at Carella. I'm glad we did as it was a lot nicer than the Hotel Posta in which we spent the subsequent 4 nights. Very near to the main post office and a short walk from Teatro Massimo, location is good for all the main Palermo sites. The entrance is discreet and the climb up 2 flights of stairs with suitcases is a very small annoyance but the welcome was friendly and the vibe cosy, unpretentious and a bit quirky; all the things we want from such an establishment. Our room only had one window opening out onto the rear of the building and so was a little gloomy but we didn't spend much there during the day so that mattered not a jot. There were sufficient power sockets for modern tech and the mini bar fridge was serviceable for our needs. The shower cabin was a little small but water pressure was just about ok. Next morning, we had breakfast in a bright room into which the sun poured and we tucked into a breakfast replete with tantalising, homemade-style options, including some great cannoli. Italian hotel breakfasts can be dull and limited in range but we felt spoilt for choice. All staff members we came into contact with were friendly and helpful and we were very sorry that we only had one night in Carella. Maybe next time!

Our apartment had a living/dining area, downstairs bedroom and bathroom, separate kitchen, upstairs bedroom and second bathroom (apartment 209).The location was very good, offering access to both the newer city area and the historical area. the apartments are located in a building with a modern entrance that uses a magnet key to open the door and a lift that holds more than the usual two people that are found in many European accommodations. All of the staff we dealt with were friendly and spoke fairly good English. They tried to be helpful when we were having some WiFi and bathroom plumbing problems but were not able to totally solve our problems. Overall, it was a place that provided good value, offering lots of room, and we definitely appreciated having two bathrooms. This was the only apartment we stayed in while traveling throughout Sicily that had WiFi problems. While I could usually get it on my iPhone, I was not as successful on my iPad. Also, the walls could have used a few picutres, and a few other decorative touches might have made the place seem more homey. A coffee maker would also have been appreciated, but there was a nice size refrigerator in a separate kitchen.

I would thoroughly recommend this little hotel. It is run by two enthusiastic sisters - they really are "La Laconda Del Gagini"! We flew from Stansted, London and the flights to and from Palermo were late. We very nervous of taking a taxi without phrasebook Italian - but they picked us up from the airport, dropped us off when we departed and even stored our luggage during our departure day. They made great recommendations of things to do, and were very sweet with our children. Our room was enormous! (compared to other Italian hotels that we have stayed in). The room was also kept clean and spotless. It had an old palatial grandeur - with Wifi. The hotel is central in a quiet side street, with lots of restaurants, markets and sights within easy walking distance. Breakfast is good and Sicilian - lots of cake. We are hoping to return one day.

Luxury in the centre of Palermo A beautiful location in the heart of the city. Francesco and Giorgio were both very helpful and professional towards myself and my husband’s needs. A very unique and beautiful setting with an elegant mix between classic and modern styles. In our room everything was thought out to better our well-being. The jacuzzi and hydro shower in our room were absolutely blissful after a long day of walking through the city. We also enjoyed an amazing shiatsu treatment in our room which we would highly recommend to anyone! Charles Buhagiar

We carefully selected this hotel for New Year 2020 holidays. We spent 7 nights in excellent condition. The room was quiet, very comfortable, large, neoclassical style, beautifully decorated( paintings, floor lamp, wall lamps, Italian marble floor), a slightly retro atmosphere very pleasant. A second smaller room was a dining room which included a well-equipped kitchenette, a table, 2 chairs, a sofa bed, a floor lamp, and paintings also. Cleaning was daily. The sheats and the towels were changed every day too, without asking. The breakfast was rich and varied. That included cannoli cakes that I knew the other 2 trips in Sicily and I liked them. As regards the hotel staff I could say: very professional and helpful. Congratulation for the hotel management, too Hotel location: very good. 5 minutes from the "city (elegant)center"(Teatro Massimo, Teatro Politeama, Via Ruggero Settimo) and not far from the "historic center" 15 minutes walking distance or 5 minutes by bus (station near the hotel)

One night after checking out of Palazzo del Poeta and we already wish we were back. It is absolutely an oasis of tranquility in the middle of frenetic Palermo. The owner Rosa is the perfect hostess, insisting that she wanted us to feel as if we’re in our own home. Well, it actually felt better than our own home, because every morning a young lady came to bring our breakfast, a gorgeous assortment of fruit, and fresh pastries like cannoli, croissants, and fruit tart, biscuits, and some salami and cheese. The Lavazza machine made both regular and decaf coffee, cappuccino, macchiato, and 4 other varieties. There is a large selection of tea bags if you prefer tea. And in the evening after a long day touring Palermo and eating dinner, we return to our little sanctuary to select an after dinner drink, Grappa, Jack Daniels, Bailey’s, or Zibibbo (like a light sherry), all complimentary. Also complimentary and available all day are water, both still and sparkling, lemon and orange drinks, and more cookies and biscuits. The hotel is very new, open since February 2019, and has a beautiful design. Three bedrooms share a spacious common living area, where breakfast is served, and a library in the loft. In the mornings and evenings Rosa turns on satellite radio for soothing music. Our bedroom area was huge, maybe 30 sq meters, over 225 sq ft. The bathroom had a toilet and bidet and shower with a fantastic rain shower head. Despite being located a couple blocks off Via Roma, the neighborhood is quiet, and the windows all have heavy duty shutters. We could not hear any street noise. The building was once occupied by the Palermo poet Giovanni Meli, and is still being renovated. The ground floor has a gallery and a wide staircase leading to the first floor. We would not have known about this hotel if our original flight to Palermo had not been canceled, and we had to book a flight 3 days earlier. Our original hotel could not accommodate us for the extra nights, but offered to book us at the Palazzo del Poeta. When did a canceled flight ever end with such great results? Almost never, but definitely in this case we are so happy to have discovered this hotel. Thank you, Rosa. Grazie, merci, danke, gracias.

For the hotel set by cruise ship, the location is just opposite the pier, and there is also its own free parking lot, which is super convenient. The room is a budget hotel, which is quite satisfactory. The most unexpected thing was the hotel's breakfast, which was hearty, and overlooked the harbour. It's not far from the scenic area, if you can, you can walk along the beach to Sijiaochang and the Royal Palace. We walked slowly for about 45 minutes. Overall very satisfied.

The room is super big, and the boxes are just spread out. Because Palermo is not big, it is convenient to go anywhere. The front desk provides a map, but the Italian cannot be read, so I still rely on Google. One thing to complain about is that the door of the room is a bit loose. As long as someone opens and closes the door, it will ping-pong. The first night we thought someone was opening our door, which scared us to death. Later, when the problem was discovered, the cabinet with the luggage was completely dead and quiet. Personally, this is still a big problem.

We wanted to stay in the Old Town to experience the feel of the narrow streets, local markets, museums, palaces, churches, and old buildings. La via delle Biciclette filled the bill! It is a flat in a 16th century building that used to be a palatial residence. The host parked in what was a grand circular drive-through entrance with tall ceilings and granite staircases to the upper floors. The B&B was very comfortable and the hosts made it like home. We hired the host to pick us up at the airport and he even took us to the car rental agency upon the completion of our visit. He and his wife were most helpful in guiding us to the sites we were interested in seeing and making excellent dinner recommendations. We were very happy with this most convenient B&B and the hosts.

we stayed here for one night. Arriving in the evening was a bit of a shock since part of the neighbourhood was run down, but the following day in full light we realised that a lot of palermo antique center is run down!!! the palazzo is beautiful and tastefully decorated, the room was ample very well appointed, the hygiene & beauty products as well as the bath towels were of very good quality. breakfast buffet was fresh and sufficient and included gluten free products which was great as I am celiac and had run out of my own supplies. The staff were very very friendly efficient and always available to help. There is a small square right in front of the hotel where you can park. We are planning a second trip to Palermo and will definitely stay there as a direct booking onto the website of the palazzo gives you an unbeatable rate that includes breakfast buffet. I stayed here for three nights in February and I slept in Room No. 1 - a quiet and spacious room with a comfortable bed, lovely flooring and a large bathrom. Although this room has a French window which looks out on a very enclosed space and gives little light to the room, I believe that, all things considered - for example the excellent breakfast, the charming and helpful hosts, plus the reasonable price - this is a very nice place to stay and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

We booked the B & B because of its location close to everything and there was parking close by. Here the review of the accommodation, but the hosts were truly outstanding see end of the post! The room was delightful, lovely and bright with a great terrace with table and chairs plus umbrella. The bedroom was a good size and very clean and well presented. The bathroom had a large shower. When you arrive they ask what type of croissants you would like for breakfast – we requested chocolate ones! The breakfast was served from 8.30am and the variety was great and the Latte was one of the best. To ensure the B & B has everything ready and meet you to park the car we used Whatsapp. We had just flown in and traveling from the airport to the B & B and Alexandra was going to meet us to park the car, but our hire car broke down 10 minutes away from the B & B. They drove out to us and helped in gaining a recovery truck and a new car as the hire company only wanted to speak in Italian. They stopped with us for nearly 4 hours! Without the kindness and generosity I do not know what we would have done. When we got to the B & B they also gave us a bottle of wine Truly amazing experience – thank you and every success with the B & B – we will be back xx

Grazie Patrizia and Guillermo for our wonderful stay. The hotel is perfectly located from the major sites of the city. Guillermo can take you around to the sites of the city and beyond. Price is very reasonable considering it’s a private tour. To enter the hotel is on the second floor no lifts but the hotel has a hoist which can take your luggage up so you don’t have to struggle with it up the staircase. Breakfast was basic but delicious. Room was comfortable and generous in size. Will definitely come back and stay!

We stayed here in August for 3 nights, i got a phone call when i landed to see how long i would be. Found the liberty suites after walking around for a few minutes, they are a bit hidden but didnt mind that. Went to check in out room would be ready in 10 minutes which was perfect. Room very spacious, air con, big bathroom. And a very reasonably priced mini bar. The receptionist was a gentleman couldnt do enough if we had any questions he done hes very best to answer them. Breakfast plain and simple, breads, cheese meats, yogurts. Very close to teatro massimo where all the restaurants and bars are. We tried to look online before we went and while we were there to see where tourists went for food and drinks and could find nothing. So head to teatro massimo and its all there. Would 100% recommended the liberty suites.

Been in this location between the 11th and 18th of August . I`ve visited severals hotels in Palermo due to the fact my family lives there, but always stayed in 4 stars and above. So, I was wondering what time was going to be. Wow , I was wrong! Reception : Extremely friendly service at arrival , the girl ( julia, i guess ) was absolutely wonderful on explaining us all the hotel`s facilities and times and showing good care for us. Room : An exquisite room with an AMAZING view , we took the one with balcony, we could see the whole city, fridge freezer full of different drinks, and several bathroom towel . And honestly , I`m very clean freak , and that room was spotless. Facilities: To find an Hotel in palermo with swimming pool wasn`t easy ...but with 3 swimming pools I reckon impossible, in the end of the day Palermo is a city surrounded by beaches so , not many are really keen on stay at the pool, but because of the location of the Hotel , those pool were the best, expecially the one that look at the city, fantastic. Restaurant : If you wondering where to eat , you have 2 choices , or going around in Palermo with the crazy traffic and been ripped off by a turistic restaurant or... enjoy an amazing service and the restorant ( i capricci di Cristian ) at the 5th floor of the hotel. OMG! the pizza was perfection. The pasta dishes pure art, and the desserts so delicate. I almost had dinner everyday in there, obviously a la cart...and even reasonable prices. The service was spot on, restaurant was full but 2 waiters managed to run it smoothly. Breakfast included : I`m italian by blood , so I didn`t mind croissant in the morning , but my partner is english , so he could choose a nice savoury breakfast with parma ham , salami etc...drinks were included too, which I was expecting it...and even if you see the orange juice coming from a machine , was actually quiet nice. Location: I knew what I was going to get , the hotel is far from the city and a taxi can be quiet pricy from there ....but ....surprise ....they have a transport service from the hotel to city center and back to the hotel, just following their timelines but 14euros p/p with return , I thought was a bargain , a taxi would had cost us about 80 euros (not joking). I had the chance to congratulate the Hotel Director , a very nice man that walks around doing basically anything he can do to make that place even better, I saw him cleaning , I saw him serving at the kiosko near the pools, telling people off from the glass that face the pool ( obviously for not respecting the rules ) this guy is amazing I must say. Conclusion : 3 Stars ? MMMmmmhhh I`m not sure, I`ve been in many 4 stars in Palermo and they were absolutely horrible . This structure deserve more than 3 stars, I truly reccomend it , and we will definitely come back. Thanks to the staff and management .

Me and my girlfriend just book a room for a couple of nights last week end and we have to say that this B&B is very handy as it is right in the city centre near the to the major sites, markets included. The place is extramely clean and confortable. BUT the best thing of all are the owners Manuela and Manlio, a very humble couple, always available to help and give advises as to where to eat, when and what to visit in the city. We didn't have breakfast but we saw another copule having breakfast one morning..... next time we are definately going to get the room with breakfast included as it looked soo delicious and rich!!!!! This hotel is a short walk outside the main stretch of Palermo. It's a little bit hidden and we had some trouble finding it. Google maps and some reading of the various signs was essential. The hotel is very small, taking up one floor of a tallish building. This means there is little street sound, which is nice. However, due to the small number of rooms, you're likely to be placed near the lobby, which is sometimes a little loud. The hotel has a bio theme, so there's lots of plants and some interesting handmade art on the walls. Our room had some art made out of orange peels, which was weird but nice. Breakfast was pretty good, although somewhat limited. The staff were very helpful and friendly. There is one warning to note: the elevator is very old, and very small. If you are at uncomfortable in confined spaces, you will not like this elevator. It is also impressively slow. It feels like the elevator could only be this slow by design. That's how slow it is. We usually walked the 8 floors of stairs going down, because it was quicker. Aside from the elevator, this is a convenient and cheap place to stay. Recommended.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this new hotel. My room was large, well equipped (including a kettle) and the bed comfortable. It had two balconies with a view of the street below and a glimpse of the marina. The walk in shower was powerful and easy to control. The wifi was fast and easy to use but I did not need the air conditioning. Housekeeping was of a high standard. Breakfast (included in the price) was simple, of high quality, presentation and service excellent. It is located a few minutes walk from Via Roma and Via Vittorio Emanuele in the old town. The area is rather run down but this was not a concern. The airport shuttle stops at Via Roma and was convenient. Above all I was impressed by the excellence of all the people working at the hotel.

Where do I start? With the thing that makes this stand out from any hotel, and probably most other B&B's - Georgia. She is the perfect hos, and takes such pride in her immaculate renovated apartment. You really do feel like family and there's nothing that is too much trouble for her. She even wasted 2 hours of her day just chatting to me about life in Sicily when I arrived early off the overnight ferry before my room was ready. No matter what you need help with - transport, sightseeing tips, where to buy just about anything....she will help. If you want to get a glimpse of real Sicilian life, this is the place to stay. Location is fantastic - in a beautiful old apartment building in the upscale part of town. An easy walk from the port and into the centre. Plenty of eating and drinking options for all budgets nearby (Pastry Martino on the opposite corner serves amazing canoli and great coffee, and Pizzeria Biondo had the best reasonably-priced pizzas we had in Sicily), and a nice vibe on Friday and Saturday nights. The rooms were immaculate and very thoughtfully designed with the quality you'd expect from Italy. There were a few comments about the noise from other rooms - if you've lived in an apartment this wouldn't be an issue. If you haven't, earplugs are supplied, so don't let this put you off. The B&B is a large 4/5 bedroom apartment on the 5th floor (or thereabouts) with a breakfast room - I'm not a morning person but I enjoyed chatting to the guests who were staying there as the sort of people who stay at B&Bs tend to be interesting to meet, and good for sharing tips and travel ideas. All in all, I cannot recommend this B&B enough. Palermo was the highlight of my Italy trip, and this B&B was the best I've stayed in. Grazie Georgia!

Delicious breakfast - with everything that your heart desires (prosciutto, mozzarella, cheese, fresh tomatoes, fresh bread, fresh pineapple & orange juice, fresh-cut fruits, yogurt, muesli, almonds, lots of sweets - mini cannoli so so lovely, brioche, cake, biscuits, pistachio cream etc). Very clean and comfortable rooms, nice decorated. I spent my birthday weekend in the gorgeous Deluxe Junior suite! Communication prior and during the stay was amazing, Davide and Francesco were great hosts! This is not a hotel or B&B in a traditional sense, most things are managed remotely and hosts give you a lot of privacy! The room was excellent, free bottle of Prosecco upon arrival! My favourite thing was the bed! SUPER COMFY! The shower and hot tub were incredible, especially after a long day of exploring the city! Be mindful of the water levels and side pumps, if over-flowing, the water will spill onto the floor and set off the flood alarm system!!! Lesson learned lol. Breakfast was average but worth it for the price of the suite! The area is so close to the main train station, all attractions are within 15min walk, the area might be questionable for some but I liked the vibe - filled with working-class locals :) I even received a gift as I checked out! Just came back from a 16-day trip to Sicily and we loved every bit of it! Palermo was the last stop of our trip and we spent 4 nights at the Quattro Canti B&B. Location is excellent, just right opposite the Fontana Pretoria (fountain of shame) and few steps away from the beautiful Quattro Canti junction. Teatro Massimo is a convenient 10mins walk away and the airport bus is round the corner in front of Rinascente. We felt very safe in this area and there are many restaurant options within 5 mins walk. We had a room on the second floor facing the next building hence not much of a view. Room is okay overall and bed is firm and comfy. The restaurant on the top floor has a good view. Special thanks to Bernadetta at the front desk who was extremely helpful with all our needs.

There were a few things that made this stay good and not so good. Firstly, the noise from the outside street enters the room. You can also hear the tv from the next door room and people talking No extra pillow or blanket was provided. One bedroom wasn’t made up when told it would be. First impressions on arriving at night was “what have I got into?” As the surrounding area looked quite neglected and somewhat scary. In daylight it looked better, but it is still outside the old area and the total precinct is quite dirty and unkempt. The way that Salvatore has renovated the property’s beautiful, but there are a few little things that would further improve the stay. For €10 it was nice to sit down to a table that had been immaculately set and served breakfast, however, for the money, it wasn’t quite worth it. There is only so much food one can eat for breakfast. By not including breakfast, this also means that this is not a true b&b in the sense that we know it. Also, there weren’t enough eggs for everyone and there were two slices of salami and four slices of cheese between six of us, however, there were plenty of rolls and pastries. The other disconcerting things were that the family live adjacent to the rooms and have a security camera within the living area that was part of our accommodation. It was like Big Brother watching over us. The owner is rightly, very proud of his accommodation, so be aware that under no circumstances is oily food allowed in the accommodation at all. We found out the hard way by being strongly told off. With all of that I’m not sure whether I would stay here again due to the noise factor from the street, the restrictions and the area.

This is a combination of the very old (a refuge for fallen women we were told) and modern comforts. It is a swine to find, especially on a Saturday afternoon, when roads and alleys are blocked, but once you get orientated, it proved very central. Very helpful and gracious staff, a pleasant breakfast, decent wi-fi, comfortable rooms arranged in an unusual layout. Once inside it is quiet, outside can be noisy due to an ethnic community centre being nearby where people seem to be enjoying themselves! All on all, quite a find.

B&B Quattro Incanti is a very convenient place to stay for a visit in Palermo. Very close to the Central Station and in the heart of an old city, everything in a walking distance. Our room was not very big, but very thoughtfully arranged for a comfortable living, very clean and inviting. A bathroom was spacious. We had an electric kettle in the room. The breakfast was really superb: the main attraction were extremely tasty home-made cookies and marmelades. The breakfast zone (always open) is upstairs and includes a wonderful terrace with a view! It was very quiet inside, though B&B was full of guests. Notwithstanding a vivacious via Romana nearby, it was rather quiet at nights. B&B Quatro Incanti has its own, very individual atmosphere, very welcoming and friendly, due to the hosts. Alessandro was very helpful and attentive, but we also felt a solicitous concern of his family as well. Due to them we had very nice and relaxing stay in Palermo!

Really glad I chose this place, super location and very stylish room. A delicious spread for breakfast every morning, including Sicilian pastries. I loved the view from the balcony, watching cruise liners and ferries arrive and depart. The staff were super friendly and I would definitely stay here again as it was such great value.
