0.32km from Bistrot DenfertI stayed at this hotel due to attending the Ryder Cup at Le National in Paris. I had been let down by another booking of which meant I was able to source this hotel at short notice within the price bracket I had from my previous booking. The rates for this particular weekend whilst being more expensive than usual, were cheaper in comparison to others when considering the additional visitors to Paris due to the Ryder Cup. The good points were the location, very vibrant classic French area with a number of cafes and patisseries. Gare Montparnasse (train station) is a 5 minute walk further reiterating the great location. The staff were very helpful and accommodating resulting in my being able to check in early due to an earlier arrival. The shower was also very good which can normally be hit and miss in hotels. The bad points were no AC, poor WiFi and the room walls are paper thin. My room was located on the ground floor and aside from the circulation safety light shining through the window when someone walked up the corridor, I could also hear next door and above taking showers etc. Not so much of a problem for me as I had very early starts due to the golf but still offered a degree of broken sleep. In my particular room, the bed was also very creaky and whilst I understand the “you get what you pay for” notion I also expect a certain standard on the basics like comfort of the bed. If you can get it cheap enough and won’t be in your room a lot then I would consider staying here again but otherwise I think there is alternatives within the Montparnasse area that would be economically feasible given a bit of forward planning.
