I cannot recommend everything about this hotel more. I decided on a staycation with friends and we had heard about this location, but never checked it out before Covid. I was a little nervous given the pandemic, but was happy to see the front desk (Brendan when I checked in) taking the temperatures of every guest and following CDC protocol throughout the entire premises. I stayed on the 2nd floor and enjoyed how it still had an outdoor feel with the access straight to the pool and ability to open the (beautiful + big) windows in the room. I really love the waterfall shower also, but they have a half door so I was a bit cold. I had dinner twice at Marco Polo and the restaurant staff is incredible. All super friendly and welcoming. The manager, Lisa, sat me and two of my friends and made the experience feel as if I was dining at a friends house. Would 100% come back even if just for the fennel salad. It was a bit chilly the nights I stayed and spent a ton of solo time at the pool. I'm sure it gets busy at times, but there was not another soul up there the times I took a dip. Will absolutely be coming back and recommending this location to family when they come to visit.

Firstly read what it is and decide if you like the concept. For me it was perfect i was backpacking by my self and really loved the community and the amenities. Good location, good WiFi and helpful personal. Again the beds could be a bit longer but overall I have nothing bad to say. If you are a loner and just wanna be by your self then try this place because you need to meet new people and this experience would be good for you

I went on vacation when the Covid-19 started to spread but had not effected the country as severely as when I got home so we spent the last 3 or 4 days in our room. I was very happy with the hotel staff for doing such a good job during that time. Some remodeling was occurring during our stay but it was not disruptive at all, mostly during the day. If you want to use public transportation, get a bus ticket for the FlyAway, it’s $8 and will take you to Hollywood and Vine and a short walk around the corner to the Metro and to the Hotel. Staff is very friendly and our room was spotless with twin queen beds that were very comfortable. There is laundry, a bar (Opens in the evening, a nice secluded pool with seating and lounge chairs, small dinning area that serves complimentary breakfast where Hugo can make you a fantastic omelette to start your day. The neighborhood is a little scary if you aren’t used to City life but you leave all that behind when you walk through the doors. LA was amazing even through our ordeal and the staff having to slowly disinfect everything. The furniture was all gone, dinning room cleared and they were still very friendly and helpful while doing all that. There is no HBO or other movie channel but I really didn’t care much. Professional and courteous prompt service. Great stay. Thanks Hollywood Hotel and staff for all that you did for the guests during our stay, I really enjoyed myself despite the virus invading our vacation.

We were just a one night quick visit! They worked with us for our check in time (which kept changing on our part!) I was worried because of all the negative reviews however it was nicer to deal with the nice guy! There was another gentleman that was not as friendly and seemed to be grumpy☹️ It was CLEAN and FREE PARKING! We were close where we needed to be so it worked! Would stay there again!

These guys have a maximum stay limit of two weeks, and I know why: If they didn't, nobody would ever leave! What I loved about this place is how they manage to have such a good balance. I have a decent amount of hosteling experience and I feel that often a place is either clean and strict, or relaxed but dirty, but this place gets it just right: It's super clean and well-taken care of, but at the same time the atmosphere as well as the management is super relaxed and chill. The guests are definitely not the typical "LA tourist" type, most of the people there seemed very individualistic, with the majority of them being solo travelers. They tend to keep themselves but are still up for a little chat. Again, it's the perfect balance. It's a friendly place but not a party hostel. In many hostel dormitories people come and go all night, turning on the lights and making a lot of noise, but this wasn't the case here. The lights went out pretty early, and whoever came in late would make an effort not to disturb the other people. Most of their rooms are regular dorms with bunk beds, but for just a few bucks more you can get a pod with a curtain and your own light, which I highly recommend. It's not always easy to get a good night's rest in hostels, but I slept really well here. Everything is very clean and there's a common area with plants and cozy warm vibes, it's all quite small but never feels crowded, even if they're completely booked. I would also like to add that I'm someone who struggles with all sorts of allergies, including dust and certain cleaning agents, and I had no issues here at all, which again speaks for the cleanliness of the place. Without a doubt one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at and probably the best deal you can get in LA. It's the sort of place you kinda don't want to tell anyone about because you want to keep it a secret, which is probably why nobody has written a review before ;)

In Los Angeles, this is a good value for money price. Although the breakfast is average, the hotel has a good location, easy to go elevated, and the surroundings are quiet. The rooms are simple, but clean, tidy and comfortable, and I feel pretty good.

Ok the area this hotel is in isnt the most beautiful but the price was awesome. We stayed 4 nights and found the location great. There is a laundromat literally 100 metres away, also next door was a 99cent store to get snacks, cereal, milk, you name it they had it. So I could feed my family cheaply and healthy. The shower worked well and so did the AC. Wifi was quick and didnt drop out. We were able to store our luggage early and the manager supplied us with a kettle for our tea that we drink. We are walkers so had no problems walking to the walk of fame, to the bus stops to go to Santa Monica and was able to get to the local train stops easily. The pizza shop next was also great value. THere is parking on site also.

Good environment, there are snacks at the front desk, but the actual distance from Hollywood is not close, and the traffic jam is good. The Wi-Fi signal is relatively good.

Firstly this is a motel not a hotel which probably explains the reasonable price. It is located on Hollywood Blvd and is only a 5-10 walk from the nearest metro station from which you have easy access to the Hollywood attractions, Universal Studios and Downtown LA. My room was very spacious with a TV, fridget and bathroom. There is a bar next door and a 24 hour convenience store across the road. On the negative the area around the motel is a bit rough and there is a noticeable homeless present along Hollywood Blvd (although this is true of most streets in LA). Wallking around wasn't a problem during the door but I wouldn't recommend it at night. Overall I would recommend this as a place to stay if you are on a budget and want a good base for getting to the main LA tourist attractions.

I stayed here for 3 days last week during the 4'th of July celebration. It was a 15 minute walk from the Hollywood/Western Metro Station and a 20 minute walk to Hollywood/Vermont Metro Station. Check in was fast and easy. I appreciated the brochure/map rack and pizza restaurant menus! Room was spotless. No bugs. Water pressure in shower was fantastic. I appreciated the fridge in the room. Bed was average for a motel. It was clean also. Location was good. McDonalds, Grocery Store, Liquor Store, and tons of local fast food restaurants within walking distance. If you want to visit Griffith Park Hollywood sign take the metro or walk to the Hollywood/Vermont station and catch the Dash shuttle to Griffith Park. It's only 50 cents. DTLA is only a 13 minute subway ride also. Hollywood/Highland is only a 5 minute ride away that's where the main sights in Hollywood are or you could take a Uber or Lyft. Wifi was super fast also. I enjoyed my stay very much and would definitely stay here if I visit LA again in the future.

This hotel was very close to Hollywood and Western Metro, that was great. There is a McDonalds, there is a Food for Less, there is a El Pollo Loco nearby and then the Metro into DTLA and Hollywood and NoHo closeby, so all greats. Also there is a fridge in the room! This is the first time I've stayed in a motel in Hollywood that has had a fridge. They give you free water too The wifi is good and free and the staff are nice and friendly. The downsides are that the beds are rock solid. I didn't sleep the whole first night and probably only slept from exhaustion the second night (I had been travelling for 24 hours, and then up all day so maybe 36+ hours of no sleep). There are no coffee facilities.

There is no breakfast, hot water is served at the front desk, and coffee is served in the morning. The environment is average, but it's quite safe. The location is very good, very close to the subway red line and there are buses such as 207 nearby. It's also very safe around 9pm. The sound insulation effect is not good, but the industry does not affect it. It is night to return to the hotel, and everyone is preparing to rest regardless of the impact. Parking is available, but I didn't drive. I think the public transport industry is good.

Hollywood
Amy Bloch, the Concierge, contacted us about 2 weeks before our arrival asking if there was anything she could do for us either setting up any tours, restaurant suggestions and reservations or anything we might need. After asking for suggestions on restaurants she did send me quite a selection of different types of restaurants along with things to do around Hollywood and Los Angeles. When my friend and I arrived Amy greeted us at the front desk, welcoming us to the Roosevelt Hotel. The entire staff from the front desk, the guys at the valet parking, housekeeping and room service were outstanding. They couldn't do enough for us. Everyone at the hotel, especially Amy made our stay simply fantastic. The Roosevelt Hotel is the only place we would stay in Hollywood.

Downtown Los Angeles
It's a big place like Los Angeles, and the room is so small, I feel drunk too. It is too small to open the luggage, which is inconvenient to open. I specifically explained that I want a quiet room. The garbage truck on the street started to pull garbage less than 5:00 in the morning. The staff talked. I thought the window was not closed. As a result, there was no window for you to open. It was just a piece of glass with light. Just come in. A small refrigerator, placed on a shelf, but not in a cabinet. There is nothing in the refrigerator, but it is plugged in, and the operation noise is noisy all night. It will collapse when you live one day. No one will help you. Carry luggage. No one asks if you need help. Is this still Los Angeles I know? The beds are ok, moderately hard and soft. The location is good. It is convenient to walk everywhere, and around breakfast. Walking on HIlls street towards 3rd street, everything is there. May not stay here next time, unless there is no choice.

Los Angeles International Airport Area
Because of the proximity to the airport, the sound of the plane taking off and landing has never stopped, quiet is not enough, and I can sleep. The hotel room did not actively provide slippers, toothbrushes and toothpaste. It was okay to call to ask the housekeeping to arrive. The bathtub has no glass door, just a plastic shower curtain. The shower faucet is fixed to the wall. There is a free shuttle to the airport 24 hours. The driver also helped to carry luggage up and down. The service was good.

My family has been using the Anza hotel for all of our trips to the Calabasas/LA area for the past 4 years or so, and we love it here. I hope we can continue to rely on the Anza for years to come. Beautiful rooms, superb location, and best of all they allow pets! The prices for rooms are very reasonable and they all have a nice "boutique feel" to them which adds something special. I want to add an extra note about my last stay here, which took place during the first days of the Covid-19 outbreak. I traveled alone without my husband and child to Calabasas/California because I needed to be with a gravely ill parent who soon passed away. Being able to stay in a comfortable hotel during this awful period was such a comfort to me, and I want to add that Ryan, who works at the Bistro restaurant and bar, was especially great to me during this time. Ryan prepared delicious meals for me, got to know me and my love for an evening glass of wine right away, and was a warm, friendly presence when I came home from the hospital at night (and in later days, came home to the hotel after days spent making final arrangements). Ryan and the team at the Anza who continued to work during the stressful days of Covid-19 "stay at home restrictions" were truly a blessing to me and I value, and am so grateful for, their work on the behalf of me and other guests who really needed a hotel stay for emergency reasons.

Everything was on point! All the staff were very accommodating! I arrived early Saturday and I was lucky to get a room early. Which helped a lot since we were on the go per our Soccer Tournament. When we needed a space to have our potluck in the evening they helped with our set up. Everyone was very friendly and customer service was amazing!
