Wow. Well, I will admit that the front desk staff was very accommodating! In these days of lobby upgrades and packed rooms, they were very welcoming and attentive. That’s the best part of the stay. My room, 150, was horrible. I knew ahead of time that the hotel was dated, but in that room, I felt like I was staying in some seedy road side motel! There were stains every where! I didn’t even want to unpack and I was there for 3 nights! I can only hope that was a ketchup stain on the sofa. Thanks for the trash left behind (colorful rubberbands from a little girl’s hair, and plastic wrap pieces) on the same sofa. The fridge was in need of a major defrosting. One of the racks appeared to be broken. My items in the fridge kept on freezing so I had to turn the fridge to its lowest setting. Didn’t help. The room was so dusty that my sinuses took days to recover after I left. The bathroom was a joke. The water was a safety hazard! It went from hot as hell to scalding! There was no in between! I had to let the water run for a full 10 minutes before it started to cool down and I could figure out which side was actually the cold water! There were hairs and stains of all types in my tub, my toilet still had feces stuck to the side of the bowl. I asked the front desk to come and clean my bathroom. The housekeeper came and changed out my towels and wiped down the sink. That’s it. I didn’t ask for anything else and even cut my stay down. I understand that there’s a ton of construction going on at the hotel, but I wasn’t very happy to open my window to a commercial trash bin blocking my view. I could’ve been warned about that at least.

My husband and I made a quick getaway to McAllen for the weekend. We chose this hotel for its prime location. Everything about our room was outstanding. Every detail was thought of, from our small kitchenette (which had a refrigerator and freezer, coffee cups, drinking glasses, and actual utensils), our spacious restroom to our spacious living area. My husband and I forgot to pack our shampoo and body wash but no worries....our shower came installed with shampoo and body wash dispensers. Neutrogena is the only brand I use and can use and surprise to me, that's the brand Hilton uses. It's as if they knew everything about me. I know that's impossible but it's the small things such as that, that made our stay extremely pleasant and unforgettable. The only downside was our trip was not long enough. But we will be back very soon, most definitely.

Although it’s a bit older, this hotel is spotlessly clean. The rooms are large. The beds are comfortable. It is fairly quiet although on a major street. A few negatives though. There is no in room safe. There is not a wardrobe to put clothes into. But still it is a reasonable place to stay.

The first reason that I decided to stay at this hotel while visiting McAllen was because it included WiFi as part of the room charge.  Because am a Mexican national/client, it was important for me to be connected to the Internet and do some of my work activities.  When I arrived, around 1pm, the first impression I got was very bad as the receptionist was on her cell phone all the time.  And with an uncordial manner, she indicated that there was no possible way to check in now as the check in time was at 3pm.  At this moment, I advised her that I needed a room with two beds instead of one which was what I originally had reserved.  She said, $15.00 would be charged extra for the change.  I understood and agreed that these were hotel policies.  I returned at 3pm and another lady more rude than the previous one told me that I had to pay the $15.00 immediately.  I agreed to pay. Later on, when I was already in my room, I noticed that none of my 3 cell phones could be connected to the internet as I would get an error every time I would sign in.  I went down to the reception so I could get help to reset the connection.  I didn't get any help.  I was told to try again. Later, a man knocked on my room to tell me that the receptionist needed to see me right away.  I was taking care of some calls and could not go right away.  5 minutes later another lady, knocked again and very arrogantly told me that I had to go to the reception now without exceptions!  This almost felt like harasement. The receptionist said that I needed to pay $5.00 that, by error, they did not charge me.  I told her, whom she did not want to reveal her name, that if I  could talk to a manager so he could fix my WiFi or give refund me for the difference of the Wifi.  She said there was no manager and if I didn't pay the $5.00, she would call the police and/or if I didn't get my things out of the room.  I paid. My stay in this hotel was a total and complete nightmare from beginning to end.  I don't understand how someone can have people managing a hotel with no manners, very rude, unpolite and with no professionalism what so ever.  I will never recommend this hotel to any of my friends, co-workers, or family members.

Nice place and similar to most La Quintas. However, between the "water pressure problem" and the fact that the staff has not been trained on customer service, I would not stay at this location again. Also, I know the price is cheap, but other La Quinta Inns offer a beer/wine happy hour, this one does not. Regarding the water issue, the room I stayed in had great flow in the shower, toilet refilled normally, but sink was a drip. I asked 4 times to have maintenance bolt the loose faucet down and fix the flow. On the 5th time, Clemente and another fellow came to the room and bolted the faucet down. I told them that they had a restriction in the faucet and just for my amusement, to take the lines off of the 1/4 turn valves under the sink. If the flow would not fill a coffee cup in under a minute, then they were right. If I was right, then they would have a mess on their hands. Low and behold, they took the line off, opened the 1/4 turn valves and the water flowed fine. The problem was particles in the faucet. Other than Clemente and, whom I thought was the maintenance guy that turned out to be the bartender, no one took me seriously or would even come to the room. Just a total lack of customer service. Also, there is an MOD or Manager on Duty, but that person only works 8 or 9 to 5 the best I can figure. If you are there for business, leave at 6:30 am and return at 5:30-6:30 pm like me, good luck getting any attention!

The room looked nice when we went in but upon needing a clean restful place after a tiring trip, there were a few problems. The first was the rug was filthy. It didn't look like it had been cleaned forever. I could not walk without slippers or shoes to even get to the bathroom from the bed without sticky feet. Ugh, There were long black hairs evidently caught on the bottom of the shower curtain that started washing out into the tub when the shower was on. The main concern was sitting on the chair next to the air conditioner it was blowing diredtly at me and I reached over to re-direct the air flow, and by mistake pulled the dust/filter screen up. It didn't look like it had ever been dusted, cleaned or even vacuumed out. I had a struggle with allergies the entire time we were there.

I stayed here for a dental trip to Mexico to get my teeth fixed. I needed a quiet, comfortable, inexpensive place to recooperate after getting invasive dental work done. This little gem really fit like a glove. The bed was comfortable, they've had a recent remodel; a little painting on the outside trim area (doors) was still ongoing while I was here. Once I figured out where to park, getting to the elevator and to my room was a snap. Thank you to the maintenance man for helping me (the painter)! A couple of solid hand/bath soaps provided, tp, kitchen towel and wash rag as well as full set of pots & pans with pancake turner, large spoon for cooking, plates and large bowls (cereal etc) as well as colander, coffee mugs and regular drink glass. Fridge came in handy w freezer. Cooktop w 2 burners. Bring dawn and a sponge with flip scratch on back for washing dishes. Bring paper towels for easy clean ups. Coffee maker and 1 packet each of the regular and decaf provided with sweetener (fake and real). Joel was extremely helpful and pleasant (management team). He needs to be promoted. This property is well run. Even with covid ongoing, and typical Studio 6 only gives once to twice a week maid service..The MORNING AFTER I got here, a maid came and serviced my room. It was so nice coming back from invasive dental work to a nice room with fresh towels, a made bed, the bathroom cleaned, surfaces wiped down. Very unexpected and surprising. I have since encountered the maid twice and wonderful service! They are in hallways daily so if you need something, just stop by their cart and ask. Oh and the air conditioning is excellent!! The single flaw I found was that my tv could not connect to the cable. Hence no in room TV. That was not a real issue for me since I have satellite TV on my phone. I just watched it on my phone while here. The location is excellent. Across the street/around the corner from Starbucks, Chick Filet, IHOP and Red Lobster directly behind. It was pretty much a straight shot from here to Mexican border. Take highway in front, exit 1015 and you're there. My stay was very pleasant. I plan to come back next year.

Such a horrible experience, first off being a Silver member we weren't offered our water bottles. This is South Texas where it's hot and at least some water would be nice. Ironically the Hilton's in Orange County offer the water to their Silver and Gold members without hesitation. Secondly, the fitness room was a steamy 75 degrees plus humidity, however it took about 5 min to hold on the phone and get through front desk and then another 10 min for maintenance to come in and adjust the thermostat. Unfortunately the maintenance member was pissed when he asked me to clarify if I wanted the temperature down. Lastly, upon getting to my room the key wasn't working and even though I had the reservation saved on my phone through the Hilton App (with ID) the housekeeping lady didn't want to open to the door. When asked if she could, she said "go downstairs and have the front desk fix it." Then she said, "wait let me see what I can do." All in all, she retreated and asked us to go downstairs. When I asked, "can you open it?" She said, "go downstairs!" I continued asking, "I understand, but I asked a follow up question to your offering if you could open it, can you?" "No sir, I can't but go downstairs." Point is that being a Hilton Honors member, one would expect the culture of Hilton to remain the same across the country. I guess some areas just don't get it.

Just had a disappointing 3 nights at this hotel. We were a tour group of 10. The rooms have no luggage rack so there is no place to put your bags except on the chairs and tables. You can't sit on the beds to put on your shoes and socks because the beds are so high, so you have to move your suitcase to sit on the chair. The rooms are so poorly lit that we had to use our cell-phone flashlight in order to make coffee. The bathroom door closed and then popped open all the time. The bathroom floor is very slippery, as is the tub. The tub has a grab bar for stepping into it but no bar where you need it when showering. Our group all had the same experiences (we had 5 rooms) so this is not just my personal opinion.

In the past years, while visiting McAllen, we have always stayed at the Courtyard and have had pleasant experiences. To our suprise, this time it was a miserable stay. After a 5 hour drive, a hot shower was in order. But, the bathtub was filthy, as was the baseboards, the sliding door and all the edges. As far as the vanity sinks, one of the sinks had a foul odor and one of the soap dishes was not cleaned. Secondly, the countertops and dressers and flat screens were very dusty. Since we just stayed one evening, I overlooked the issues and hoped that it was just an oversight and someone would return to clean the bathroom as we stepped out for dinner. But it didn't happen. I kept positive and was looking forward to the breakfast in the morning. The waffles were quite amazing. The eggs and sausage were disgusting and the buffet spoons left a very messy aftermath on the serving table. Perhaps, pastries, waffles, and yogurt should be the only items offered. It was also advertised on the website that a cocktail bar was available, but it was no longer in operation. It was a very disappointing experience. I hope all these issues are addressed for future guests.

Love this hotel! My favorite in the McAllen/Edinburg area (where I stay often to visit extended family). Great staff. Nice breakfast. Nice pool. Always clean. Family-friendly. We used to stay here for a few days twice a year, roughly, with our small kids. Then we didn't stay for the past 18 months because our family moved to a different area and we wanted a hotel that was closer to them. But the other hotels didn't measure up. So we came back, and this time one of the housekeepers said: "Oh look how your daughter has grown! You haven't been around the past year or two and she's so much bigger." Seriously, the housekeepers remember us.... The first time we came here, it was an emergency and I hadn't reserved a crib. They didn't have any left, so the staff called a nearby hotel and borrowed a crib. It's that kind of place.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The rooms have attempted to be updated, laminate floor as opposed to dirty carpet was nice. I was here for work and on a budget looking for safe, clean and inexpensive. I booked for a week and asked if they had any rooms with a refrigerator, They were kind enough to bring a small unit to my room. Overall I was satisfied with my stay. Only annoyance was loud guests next door with loud music and people hanging out in the parking lot. Walls are thin. Would suggest maintenance of AC room has musty smell, checking tubs for new faucets and checking shower pressure, new bed sheets, replacing exterior door mats and painting the doors.

Business travelers will no doubt find the hotel convenient and comfortable. The nearby convention center, plenty of shopping, and various dining options within a short walk means many will not even have to have a car when staying here. Mission Regional Medical Center is a five-minute drive, and of course you can hop on Interstate 2 (US 83) to be practically anywhere in the Rio Grande Valley in short order. I hit a few bumps at checkin, as the desk clerk must have been somewhat new and not 100% familiar with protocol and other details. Nevertheless, the rest of my stay was relatively flawless. During the first two days of my stay one of two elevators was broken, and during the first evening, the internet service was unavailable. The property is clean and modern. The staff were all very friendly. I usually don't bother to write about the breakfast offerings at these and similar Marriott properties. If the usual line of scrambled eggs, waffles, yogurt, fruit, etc. don't tickle your fancy, any of several other nearby restaurants can probably meet your needs. I recommend SpringHill Suites for its convenient location, central to both McAllen and Mission.

We have been staying at this hotel since 12/23/19. Since we checked in, only ONCE did the maid leave us enough clean towels, soap, and shampo to replace used and dirty items, resulting in my husband having to go down to the front desk to request fresh items. Also, today, Saturday, 12/28/19, when we went down for breakfast 9 a.m., most items were empty. There was no bread for toast, no milk, no butter,, no fruit, ect, and most of the hot food, (eggs & potatoes) were cold, even though breakfast service was open till 10 a.m., Also all empty tables were dirty. Perhaps they should have some extra help on the weekends. Having said that, I will say the breakfast service during the week was fine. We have a few more nights here on our trip, and this is the 4th stay at this hotel for a extended stay, (over a week), and this is the worst service we have experienced at this hotel. Although the location is called "McAllen Airport", it's definitely outside of McAllen proper, in an area dominated by warehouses. The room was clean. Bed wasn't very comfortable. Pool was dirty, my girlfriend wanted to swim so we went down to the pool and once we saw it we said forget that! The "breakfast included" part was a terrible joke. The room that breakfast was served in was no bigger (maybe smaller) than the standard nightly hotel room and only had a few small tables. Coffee/juice, toast, and a single waffle maker. That's it. No bananas or fruit. If you want to eat, there's a good chance you will have to eat breakfast standing up next to the food counters in the way of everyone as there are only a few tables in this small room (and *plenty* of hotel guests). If you want a waffle, plan on *standing in line* for a good twenty minutes or more per trip to the waffle machine until it is your turn to make a waffle. Ridiculous. The good points about this hotel was that it was clean and about as inexpensive as you can find, but honestly if you are willing to pay 10 more dollars a night you can get hotels literally twice as nice as this place (Which I did every night after the night I stayed here). But it beats sleeping in your car during the hot months if you truly don't have those 10 extra dollars...

At 8:30am we were awakened from sound sleep by the sounds of housekeeping knocking on the door for 2 minutes. When we did not open the door they attempted to let themselves in. This was not an isolated incident as we found them knocking on every door on our floor with dazed and sleepy looking guests answering their doors. Obviously they had a lot of guests that they were trying to get out of rooms early. A complaint to the front desk did result in them actually communicating our complaint to housekeeping who said they did not see any sign on door. They did add some bonus points to our account for the inconvenience. As to the rest of our stay, I would add that we could easily here sound of people walking on floor above us and guests showering next to us. The room was very clean. We also enjoyed the indoor pool hot tub and found that area clean with plenty of pool towels on hand. We did not find the mattress very comfortable. However, I should add that it is some type of memory foam that most people seem to prefer , so I am not sure other guests would have any mattress complaints as it is a very personalized choice. We ended up staying 2 additional nights in McAllen but chose not to extend our stay for fear of another early morning wake up visit. If you plan to be up and out early I am sure this hotel would be adequate.
