Most hotels have clean rooms, nice front desk staff and the optional daily house keeping rounds. Most hotels have a gym, pool and breakfast. And most hotels will keep the light on. But when you are staying for long periods away from home, its the more personalize things that matter. So what I discovered with the staff at the Santa Fe Residence Inn, is that you matter to them, more than most. They show you that you matter, more than in words, but service. Service is what makes those nights away from home matter. For me, that service came in many forms and across all parts of their staffing. The front desk, accommodated me twice, promptly and professionally. Arriving well after normal business hours, they found a room for me. After, discovering that it didn't meet all of my needs, they were able to adjust and secure me another room that was more appropriate for me and they did so quickly. The management team should feel proud of how their staff handle challenges. It is evident that the managers care about their employees, because their employees care about how they treat you. Each level of staff that I was served by, it felt like they owned their jobs and are proud to be about of the company.

This 80 year old property has been lovingly restored by its current owner who is on the property daily. If you are looking for a Hilton or Wyndham, keep on driving. This is a Pueblo Deco 17 room old fashioned Motor Hotel out of the glory days of Route 66. Lots of Charm, a little road noise, but overall very comfy.

The hotel does not have breakfast, but you can go to the Mexican restaurant for 1 minute to walk and taste OK! The hotel is not far from the ancient city, driving more than 10 minutes! Like a motel, you can park your car outside your room!

Sure, it's ancient, but well maintained, clean, comfortable, and for Santa Fe, a real bargain. I love that it has an enclosed carport beside each room, so your vehicle is out of the weather and somewhat secure. Beds are good, baths mostly updated and appropriate. It is the classic Santa Fe Route 66 motel that the "El Rey" (where we used to stay until prices went up and quality down), used to be. Granted, some of the family that runs it aren't all that sociable, but socializing with the management ain't what we're paying for. We'll be staying at the King's Rest again. And, eating at The Pantry which is just a couple of blocks walk down Cerrillos.

Let me start off by saying WOW! This motel is VERY clean. I am very particular about staying in a "motel" but I have to say this place is cleaner than most 4 star hotels I've stayed in. Very impressive! Reasonably priced as well. Room has a mini fridge, microwave, table and chairs, flat screen TV, coffee maker, ice bucket, ceiling fan, AC wall unit and wall heater... did I mention how CLEAN it is 😁!!! There is NO SMOKING in or in front of the rooms - there is designated smoking areas with tables and chairs across from the room (outdoors of course). They are not offering breakfast at this time because of the covid, but not a big deal for my husband and I. The front desk clerk was very friendly and welcoming! So happy my husband found this place! We will be coming back!!!

I was passing through town, and just needed a bed. I honestly didn't expect much. But wow, this place was great! I always worry about bed bugs when traveling and hate carpet. The floors are wood-looking vinyl, and very clean. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The only incident I had, was there were several college age kids being rather loud in the hall outside my room, and when I called the desk and requested to move, I was immediately accommodated to a very quiet room. I greatly appreciated how I was treated. I will definitely stay here again!

We ususally stay at new nice Hyatts or Hilton's. But we tried this B& B cause we were intrigued by the reviews. Location is fantastic. cross street from State Capitol, micro brew bar, great restaurant. easy five block walk to Plaza and downtown. Ample parking lot, fantastic home cooked breakfast. Owners are the nicest folks and help with advice based on years of owning the place. Rooms and bathrooms are from the 60s but its clean, nice warm showers, kitchen small but what you need, quiet but with outside pateo's for sipping your wine with friends. If your fussy about things looking brand new this place is not for you. but if your relaxed and like dealing with owners who love having guests, stay here.

I stay at La Quintas a lot, as I travel with my 2 dogs and also because I can count on a comfortable bed. I'd never stayed at this particular one before and it exceeded my expectations. I had called ahead to make sure there was no pet fee (some LQs now charge a pet fee). When I arrived, I asked to have a room close to where I'd be parking, and the friendly and efficient clerk made the switch, no problem. The room was super clean, had an easy chair, and a nice, large work station with several outlets to plug into. The a/c unit was very quiet, and I heard little if any exterior noise during my stay. Nice curtains to keep out light and noise. The grounds were fine, and I found places to walk my dogs. The area is nice: malls and restaurants, and I felt very safe. Definitely one of the best motel stays I've had lately. It's a couple of miles from I-25 but easy to get to.

The pictures on Tripadvisor were very misleading. It seems like it probably was nice at one time but it has gone downhill. It didn't seem as clean as it should be; the housekeeper came in twice without knocking (really scary). The towels were frayed. The linens were NOT frette. The Gilchrist and Soames bath amenities seemed old...they didn't have any scent and weren't sealed. Everything just seemed outdated. The only bright spot was the gentleman that takes care of the property. He helped us with the television, was so kind and helpful. I would disagree that the location is two blocks from the plaza. It's definitely not walkable. And there is very little parking. We were lucky it didn't seem to be busy. We tried to check out but no one was there to do it. I won't be back and can't recommend. It says they have robes but there weren't any....very few amenities. No breakfast (even though you paid a resort fee to get it)_ No ice. No nothing.

I must confess upfront that my wife and I reserved the honeymoon suite so probably got the best of the best. It was truly a beautiful room, done up in southwestern style with both native American and Spanish influences. Comfortable, well laid out, clawfoot tub but no ability to shower. The charm of the facility is enhanced by the staff who are always friendly, filled with recommendations (recommended best Mexican restaurant outside of Tucson, AZ that I've ever eaten in) and lots of good local information. One of the staff members is a minor celebrity, having appeared in a certain Netflix series filmed in NM (albeit in a very deep background crowd shot in all the episodes that she was in). I won't tell you who it is, you'll have to figure it out. Easy walking distance to downtown, Georgia O'keefe museum, the church/cathedral, governors square, etc.. Just enough off street parking for the building but most of it covered which is nice. Couldn't have been a better experience and was the end point for what was a 30 day driving trip to sell all the western national parks, Mt. Rushmore and Santa Fe. If we ever go back to Santa Fe, this is the only place we will stay.

This is a nice hotel for a 2 or 3 star level. It’s basic but comfortable. There is a nice pool. Comfortable bed and clean. The decor is newly redone so it’s a nice change from the usual frumpy budget hotels. Its in a good location if you’re using the airport, otherwise I’d try a place closer to downtown

We stayed Feb. 16, 2020 for a ski trip. The accommodations were awesome. The rooms were very clean with a fireplace in our room. The breakfast was included, the best ever with different hot/cold selections to chose from. We missed the afternoon tea. They give you a $15.00 coupon off to use in their restaurant. The food and drinks were great. The rest of our trip we stayed in downtown Taos, but canceled our last night to come back to Inn of Governors on Feb. 24, 2020. The guy at the desk remembered us. He worked there for 20 years. They had board games in the lobby we played. The place was crowded, which said a lot. Great friendly place! We walked to LaFonda Hotel to check it out. SO glad we stayed at the Inn of Governors! We definitely would come back. Do not fly United to Santa Fe, terrible, unfriendly ladies behind the baggage counter.

We booked the 1 King Bed Suite because it had a totally separate bedroom (with door separating the living room), a second fireplace in the bedroom, and a table and chairs "nook" in addition to the couch and two upholstered chairs in the living room. I needed to work all day in the room, and that extra space and privacy was the answer. The room we got was NOTHING like this. No door between the living and bedrooms, no second fireplace, no table and chairs, no upholstered chairs - even the sofa bed that was supposed to be a hide-a-bed really wasn't. Oh, and the internet didn't work in the room. Upon complaining that this was not the room we booked, we were told that this was a unique property, and rooms won't always match what is shown on-line - and there is a disclaimer like this on the website. But seriously - you can have somewhat of a variation in floorplan, but not having a door? Not having a table? Not having a second fireplace? Not to mention the old/tired bathroom versus the beautiful one shown on the site - it was pathetic. Please see the pictures I post of what is on-line versus what we had. It should be quite obvious what are the fake photos of the rooms that are shown on the web versus the actual - our room was #245. On the positive side - the valet and bell stand people were amazing. On the negative side, the front desk staff have clearly heard the complaint about rooms not matching the internet often, as they responded with very little emotion and an "ok, well we wish you well" attitude. We were absolutely appalled by the deceptive nature of the engagement. This might be the worst Marriott-related experience we've ever had!

My wife and I were greeted at check-in with smiling and friendly staff, along with the best chocolate chip cookies and bottled water as Hilton honors members. Due to a misunderstanding on our booked rooms for 4 nights, Linda Saisa was amazing and went out of her way to help with our misunderstanding and made our 4 night, 5 day stay the most memorable. Our top floor room was excellent with comfortable bedding and pillows. The fitness center was excellent with great views of the mountains being on the top floor. Also, enjoyed the hot tub in the early morning when it was quiet as opposed to the evening crowd. Great value for the price.

My boyfriend and me went to Santa Fe to get away for the weekend. We wanted to save money and booked our stay at the GreenTree Hotel. It’s an older motel but our room was clean and their prices were low. We paid around $50 per night. The WiFi was good, but our TV was kind of small. The staff was nice, Cindy at the front desk was friendly. It’s on a loud street but our room was towards the back and it was quite. We will stay here again.

We just recently spent 3 nights at the hotel. The experience was wonderful despite the changes required by Covid. The entire process of reserving and checking in was seamless. We enjoyed a drink in the Living Room in front of the fireplace and had a fabulous breakfast outdoors in Luminarias and lunch inside. Food was excellent. Our beds were luxuriously comfortable - mattress just firm enough and the sheets were crisp and smooth and pillows galore so every person had exactly what was needed. The towels were great although I prefer a fluffier towel. Like that we had double sinks, but wish there were also a mirror in the room. No valet parking at the moment, but the immediately adjacent parking is free. It snowed during our stay and when we were ready to get in the car the next day, it has already been cleared of snow and ice - definitely a huge service. We enjoyed a massage in the spa from a spa technician who is very experienced and has a PT background also. The room was luxurious and I appreciated the warm table. My only negative was covid-related and that was having to stay masked. But that is just a part of the times we live in. Currently things are more closed up after the weekend, so depending on your desire for crowds (or not) time your visit accordingly. But do go - Santa Fe is always magic and this hotel has a perfect location and will definitely not fail to please.

This property has so much potential, however, I am sad to say it falls short - especially in light of the price. I booked a super casita for two nights based on beautiful online photos, excellent location, and the fact that the property boasts a historic feel. I genuinely like quirky, unique rooms, but I was not ever able to fully escape the run-down feeling, despite asking to switch rooms after I saw where I was first placed. The second casita had more charm - maybe one step closer to the quality of charm I would have expected from the photos, but still not there. Here are the pros and cons based on my experience: Pros - The location of this property is excellent. Just a few minutes walk from the historical center. - The second casita was accessed through a winding courtyard with some lovely artistic and architectural touches. - These architectural details carried over into the second casita with deep set windows, a functioning wood-burning fireplace, and doors fitted especially for one-of-a-kind spaces. - The bathroom amenities (bodywash, lotion, etc) were generous and of good quality. - The front desk was happy to accommodate my request for a different room and made the adjustment quickly without fuss. - Parking was easy and plentiful. Cons - The rooms are run down (especially the first one), although the second casita's bathroom was a noteworthy step up from the one in the first casita which was sorely in need of updating. - The sofa in both casitas was too hard to be considered comfortable. - There was no space/solution provided for unpacking my suitcase, so I ended up using one end of the sofa. - The bed was unstable and the mattress was not of the quality I have come to expect in upscale boutique properties. - One of the lamp shades was broken and would wobble precariously when I turned the lamp on or off. In summary, I would mind this experience a lot less if I had paid a lot less. As I wandered through the historic area of Santa Fe, I saw several places that I will remember for booking next time. This property has *so much* potential, but without some serious attention to details, I would not want to book here in the future. Again, the price is fine if the experience measures up, but sadly, Las Palomas didn't do it for me.

We stayed at Hotel St Francis for our Honeymoon. They had chocolates and champagne waiting for us when we got to our room. They even upgraded us to the most beautiful suite they have which is The Cardinal Suite. Magnificently classy and beautiful. Bedding and pillows of highest quality. We will recommend it to all our friends. Wonderful restaurants inside on first floor and within walking distance. One of our days there we drove up to the Vietnam War Memorial- very moving - they have a great museum at the memorial, also. Everything covered in snow. It was just beautiful. Another day we drove to Taos and Red River. Snowy mountains. We saw men ice fishing on a frozen lake in Red River. My husband said for two summers in college he worked there as a camp guide. There were hardly any other cars on the road. The last day I spent shopping all the boutique stores in downtown Santa Fe. He had a great honeymoon. We also went to Loretto Spa for a wonderful massage.

We have stayed at this Comfort Inn at least ten times over the last few years but this year was especially great. During this CoronaVirus pandemic, the room we were given had not been occupied for at least 3 days as we requested and the room was spotless. A couple of hours after we left Santa Fe the next morning, I discovered I was missing one of my hearing aids! We called the motel and the staff said they would check our room, the hallways, the elevator and the lobby and call us back. We suggested they check the parking spot because that was where I had removed my mask when I got in the car. HOORAY--they called back and said they had found it!! We received it yesterday by FedEx at our lake home in MN! We just can't thank them enough! We'll be back there again in the fall on our return drive to AZ. Ed E

Stayed here three or four years ago and really enjoyed it. Clean, on the small side, but nicely done up with decorative tile; nice beds; within walking distance to the plaza, Palace of the Governors, and the train depot. (The ceramic peppers were a bit much.) "Let's get a casita next time," my husband said. "That way we have more room." We were supposed to go to Santa Fe this morning. Three days in a patio room . . . and then coronavirus. I called the front desk and asked if there was any way I could get a refund. Thirty seconds later, the cancellation email arrived. When things clear up, we will definitely be staying at the Santa Fe Motel & Inn.

If you are looking for a "WOW" factor in the holtel, look elsewhere. I f you want a small, quaint place to rest after a day of tromping around Santa Fe, this is your place. My hat is off to the photographer for making the rooms appear so big. When we arrived, we were a little taken back how un-big the room was. Thgere was no chest to put our clothes in, so we mostly lived out of our suitcase. Some hanging space was available, so if you want to hang everythig up, you're covered. There was a standard fridge and microwave in one cabinet, a desk with a chair, two small end tables and the bed. So if you want to sit, you flip a coin to see who sits in the chair and the other person gets the bed. The fireplace was a nice touch for atmosphere. The bathroom is so small, you have to get all the way in between the toilet and tube before you can shut the door. The breakfast was standard fare. Bacon, sausage, waffles, potatoes and tortillias. The fruit put out was fresh from the can. Coffe was most always available in the lobby. "Fresh" cookies in the lobby at 4 PM. Be sure to watch your credit card statement....they charged us twice for th visit. It didn't drop off for several days. We have stayed here twice in one visit...first time and last time.
