|3.56km from city centerCheck in sometimes in May 2019 and just want to have a weekend gateway from the busy city of Kuala Lumpur. Very bare minimal deco of the apartment . The kitchen facilities was also not sufficient like knives, can opener & etc. Enjoy the cool weather especially at 4pm - looks like we are living in winter as the views look like winter snow. Service is damn poor as we called the management office to fix the light at the balcony and they never came to fix it until we check out. The check in and check out also was not efficient too.

Made the booking early middle of July as I thought it will be full of crowd since going to be school holiday. And free cancellation from booking.com as well. What else u wanted if coming to cameron highland? Cozy place right? This is the place. As I working in hospitality industry,I don't need 5 star place to stay. I need nice warm and cozy ambiance. Nice place to stay,sleep and of course u don't need air conditioning here . Will be enough. I only spend Rm 200 something just for 8 night! Anyway thanks to Mark and Daus for the hospitality and cookies almost everytime I had my breakfast. I'll see u next time. Be safe. Pray for everyone safety's.

|0.83km from city centerWe were staying 4 nights at Gerald's. The accomodation is in a very good condition and very clean and offers enough space if you need to work remote. The staff is extremely friendly and well informed about hiking trails, restaurants and everything you need to know. The common kitchen is basically equipped, enough to prepare snacks, sandwiches, etc. During our stay we had one minor issue with the shower. For us it was a bit tricky and it took a while to get hot water. Besides everything was great and I can strictly recommend to stay at Gerald's.

Lots of restaurants/ banks nearby. The hotel is super clean and the breakfast food a lot of varieties. Swimming pool super cold but my kids enjoyed the stay and thats all that matters.

|0.44km from city centerWe stayed at a Deluxe room. The whole place is dim, dark, wet and moldy. Warm/Hot shower head is quite a challenge. Within 10 seconds can be too hot, and next 10 seconds too cold. So you can guessed it. Showering wasn't pleasant at all. Room desk having ants everywhere. Felt so annoying. The Indian lady boss isn't friendly. Breakfast so so only. Don't bother getting one. This place was beautiful before but in serious need of upgrading and better maintenance. It's a waste to see this place in ruins. The receptionist Adilla is friendly luckily. And no, we won't be back at Bala's.

|0.72km from city centerThe staff at this property saved from sleeping on the street on our first night in Tanah Rata due to a problem between the hotel we booked and the agent (the big ”A”). We rolled up at about 10pm after dragging our luggage across town. Note: difficult to find taxi or Grab after 9pm. They gave us a room for the night but we stayed for 3. The staff were great, especially Elaine, who provided heaps of useful guidance and also organized our self-drive motorbike tour. She's a gem. The property is quiet and pleasant. Good public areas and grounds. Prices competitive. We had a double with private en-suite. Hot water was useful in this climate. Internet was a little unreliable. Didn't sleep well but that was mostly due to change in climate. Clean and sure to be a success, especially compared to our intended hotel.

The location is also near a mini mart and food places (about 10 minutes walk). Pasar Malam Golden Hills is also located near there and would recommend to visit (Opens on Friday evening onwards). The room still has a taste, the only advantage may be that the service attitude is OK, the breakfast is very rich and the price is not high, this is very much like. If you are away from the station, you can't say it is very close. It takes 15 minutes to 20 minutes to get there. Overall, it's okay, but the price is not worth it.

|0.86km from city centerHad a great time at this boutique hotel. It’s relatively new and adopt a very interesting design concept. They only have 10 rooms I think. The landscaping around the hotel was really nice. The location of this place is in Tanah Rata, so it’s not as crowded as Brinchang, also it’s not as congested in terms of traffic. You only get one car park per room. It’s situated right at the end of the street, quite secluded and very private.
There’s no one waiting during check in, basically, you text a number and someone comes out to give you keys to your room and ask for breakfast selection for the following morning. All communication was done through the WhatsApp. We also asked for extra towels and shampoo, owners were very courteous and generous.
Felt very safe for my family with young children could just roam around freely. In terms of amenities, there’s no swimming pool or gym facilities. But there’s a place to do bbq and gather in the common area. They give you the auto gate lock if you were to drive out and come back late at night, you can allow yourself in and lock the gate yourself.
In the morning you can hear very loud bird chirping. The air was very fresh! But we were awoken by the loud noise of grass trimming from next door, some government office. There’s also a dormitory next door and you can hear evening prayers.
Nearby, there’s a lot of shops and restaurants whereby you will find no problems settling your meals, about 5 mins walk down to the Main Street.
Just a few things to note :
- There’s a lot of stairs and if you have elderly in your entourage, it is not very convenient getting to the room. You may ask for ground floor rooms of course. The stairs worked super well for my children though, they just enjoyed going up and down so much!
- We booked loft rooms. The toilet and bath tub is located next to the main door. It’s open concept, meaning if you were to take a shower at night or go to toilet, it’s going to be cold.
- The beds are on the top floor, so if you need the bathroom in the middle of the night, you have to walk down the stairs.
- The bathtub and shower design is not so convenient for young children or elderly.
- Breakfast comes in very cute tiffin boxes. They place it outside your door around 8 plus. However, I always couldn’t catch their delivery on time, and most times the food is rather cold already.
Overall, I still enjoyed my stay very much. I think would very suitable for young couples, and groups of young travelers.

The hosts are absolutely lovely, very friendly & make you feel very welcome! Everything you need is practically on your doorstep, the highlands are just beautiful & we will without a doubt be back!! They also offer hiking trips (we didn’t go on it as we had other plans but it’s a great perk I think)

|3.19km from city centerThe mini chalet is suitable for couples mainly because space inside is limited. Very cold at night but can get very hot in morning if you don't open the doors. Shared toilets are clean and has hot shower option. Only thing is we got the chalet at the end near the trash bin, so in the morning there were LOTS of flies. Come before 10pm to check in and do expect sheep dung's smell, the Sheep Sanctuary is only beside the hotel. Also make sure car is in good condition, road to and from the parking is quite steep.

My mum ended up sleeping in the living room instead due to unbearable smell in the room. - The pillows are so smelly that even with pillow cover, you can still smell the stench. The smell of the pillow is like the sweaty shirt of which you kept for weeks before washing it. - The mold starts to grow on the pillow. - We ended up buying a new pillow outside from nearby grocery store. - Futon beds provided are full of spider web and smelly. - Bed sheets are full of yellowish stain and even blood spots. - The cleanliness is at worst that the bed stand even has mold! - My family got sick immediately the next day staying in this place. If you have allergy or low tolerance to weird smell, this is not the place for you. 2. Kitchen - Very dirty with cabinet door is broken. - There are mushroom growing inside the cabinet and the door is broken and unable to close it tight. - When I opened the cabinet door, unknown insects flied out with a very bad smell inside the cabinet. - The kitchenware is horrible, oven is rusty and they place the big black dustbin in the kitchen next to living room, so basically if you are sitting in the living room, the big black dustbin is next to you. - Electric kettle is rusty 3. Toilet - Cameron Highlands is a cold place but the centralized heater is not working well. If you have more than 2 people staying, the third people will have to bath with cold water. The hot water is very inconsistent and when the hot water in the tank runs out, you will have to bath with icy cold water in the middle of your shower. - The ceiling of the toilet is full of mold. - All the toilet covers are broken! 4. Surrounding - Right outside my room looks like a dumpsite. I cannot open the window, else, the whole house will smell like dumpsite. - Refuse room is a few feet away and once you open the door, the stench is like dead rats. - Refuse room door is left open wide and you need to hold your breath once you are out and walk to lift. - In front of the apartment looks nice but when you go to the back, rubbish is all over the road. 5. Management - Notice stated that the management closes at 8PM, I called them at 7:35PM to request to change a new pillow and they hanged up on me and SMS me ”Can't talk now”. I replied the SMS to request for new pillow but until I checked out, no one responded to me. - No housekeeping at all. I do not see them around. 6. Wi-Fi - Even the WiFi is bad, I was staying at Level 1 and the router is in Level 2. Two levels of houses share 1 router. There is no individual router in your house. - All the rooms has NO wifi coverage except living room.

Eating sweet salads, sweet salads, drinking cocktails fresh and delicious. Besides this, the beach and the sea are very beautiful. The toilets and room cleaning are very beautiful. There are hairdressers and stores in the hotel. There are two swimming pools. All kinds of products can be found in the market very beautiful and smiles. Gökçen Madam, Turgut Bey and Göktug Bey are doing their best to help. Kookafor Özkan Bey and Angela Madam are very successful and laughing. The fun inside the hotel makes you enjoy very pleasant and beautiful. Halil Bey and Sefa Bey from the animator team are the prayers of this job. The staff at the reception, the kitchen team, the people who clean rooms are successful in their jobs. The coastal toilets are clean and the night security is very good. Thank you very much to people who have an impact on my good life. Only the only handful of the hotel's staff who react each other in front of customers when a bad incident occurs.

|0.37km from city centerA new management took over what use to be a hotel called Bird's Nest. Foremost the pricing and location was good. Compared to other cheaper hotel of shoplot kind where you can hear the noise from the streets below. I was glad that this hotel was slightly away from the streets. This is whats best about it for me. Room space: Stayed in the cheapest Standard twin room, which had adequate space to move about for 2 person. Sleep: Was fairly good, had 2 good fluffy pillow like those better hotels. Mattress was fine as well. Bathroom: No problem on its function. Just a shame there was some leak on shower head which could easily be fixed by any plumber or handyman. Other than that its all fine. Bathroom window is fine, either close it or leave slightly ajar if concern of privacy. TV system do not have local channel yet but is connected to an android box. However wifi connection was poor that i had to use my own internet as hotspot. Still can watch netflix on it if you have an account, or watch the free youtube on it. So quite a trouble here. Food access: Location was good, i can walk to many restaurant nearby in like 5-10minutes the most. The Top restaurant in tanah rata, a the famous Indian food restaurant is just right in front. Cleanliness: Appears all clean I will still consider this place over the hotels at the main streets of tanah rata. Just hope they will get proper people to maintain the place.
