It is not far from Ota Station in about 20 minutes on foot. It's not downtown so it's quiet. It is run by a couple. I made a reservation in an 8-person room, but it was passed to a 4-person room. There are curtains and mini lights. There is no key and you enter with your PIN. There is a kitchen on the first floor, but it was troublesome to press a password every time I entered. The room was on the 3rd floor, so I was tired of getting up and down. Breakfast starts at 7pm with bread and coffee. There were no eggs.

Stayed one day and booked another day. Except for check-in and check-out early in Japanese-style hotels, there is nothing wrong. Breakfast is simple, but it has local features, and the washing machine can be used for free. There are also self-pick-up pajamas, ice machines, humidifiers, very intimate.

We stayed here for 3 nights during our tour of South Korea. We arrived by train and at first struggled to find a taxi driver would knew where the hotel was even though we had details in Korean. We arrived abit too early and had to wait a while before the room was ready. Staff at the front desk were very helpful during our whole stay. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Gave us their personal recommendationsfor easting out which were good. Room was a small apartment perhaps better ssuited for one than two however it was such good value. Our room overlooked the street and was above the restuarant however apart from early evening cooking smells we had no noise and no disturbance in what is a very quiet part of the city. Room had double bed pushed up to the wall on one side which did make entry/exit difficult but not a huge issue. Room had TV, Aircon, fridge, complimentary water, WiFi cooking facilities, kettle and awashing machine. Free water and coffee availble in reception. Bathroom was OK however was more of awet room which we dont really like as water gets everywhere. No issues with hot water. Yes there was only one large towel however having contacted reception another was provided immediately. Front of house staff made anore of our 3 night stay to sensure hoiusekeeping provided two large towels each day. We did not take breakfast in the hotel (it was available) however crossed the road to Joes Cafe on weekday morning to get a cheaper and equally good breakfast. Hotel is walkable to the city Hall metro ( maybe 8 minutes easy flat walk) which gives access to the city, around this area are lots of eating/drinking and coffee places all well priced. A short walk the other way takes you to more upmarket shopping, bars and more eating places. One night asd it was rtaining we went to the chicken restaurant close by (part of achain) which was full of locals, food filling, cheap but not fancy. Small 7 to 11 next door and lots of coffee shops in the area. We would stay here again. As previously stated the front of house girls and boys were great.

Stayed at the Yousung during a recent international exposition. The hotel is no-frills, clean and the staff are professional, helpful & very friendly. There are Chinese and Korean restaurants, a lobby lounge and a buffet which has a great lunch selection that is quite modestly priced. The health & fitness facilities are extensive, with a spa, sauna, swimming pool and one of the best equipped gymnasiums I have visited in Asia. The rooms are simple. They are spacious enough with good beds and adequate air-conditioning but there are few of the trimmings that one would find in a 4-star IHG or Starwood group hotel. So if 24hour room-service, the full array of toiletries and a minibar are your thing, you will be disappointed. The Yousung is centrally located in Daejeon, inside the city ring road and really only a 10 minute cab ride from anywhere. The local neighbourhood is sketchy. It looks demure enough during the day, but it seems a little seedy after dark. At no point did I feel uncomfortable or unsafe. The hotel has a 100 year heritage due to its proximity to the local spa. It has clearly had a number of facelifts over the journey but is a little tired and maybe due for another. That said, if you're looking for a perfectly acceptable place to stay whilst you're doing business or seeing the local sites, the Yousung is fine.

This is a new hotel, very clean and beautiful~ but the parking lot is really too complicated because it is connected to the exit and the wedding hall.

It is regrettable that the location is not close to the subway station, but it seems good that there are many bus stops around. There are some facilities even if you don't go far! I think the best thing about being close to the Galleria, being able to eat and eat in your room, and renting utensils! The receptionists at the front desk are all kind and the service is excellent, so when you cook, the hotel seems to book only here to stay!

This was actually the most disappointing hotel on our Korea trip, but I think just because they have some kinks to work out. The staff did not speak much English, but this is Daejeon, so no surprise. We were unable to check in early, which is okay, but the hotel was pretty empty, so didn’t understand that. At the time we were there (September 2019) the gym was not yet open and the hotel was actually at a different location than shown on the hotel website or any of the third-party booking sites. Kakao Map did not recognize the English name of the hotel. So, be prepared when you arrive – it’s actually back towards the river when you exit the Yuseong Spa stop (the maps show it being away from the river). The lights and toilet were confusing without English explanations, and there was hardly any room to unpack (a closet with about 4 hangers...). Even from the 11th floor, we could still hear the busy street below. And housekeeping skipped over us on the first day – granted, we didn't leave the room until noon, but we saw the housekeeper, and she acknowledged that we were leaving... Since there is absolutely no place to hang towels, ours had been on the floor and had to be replaced at the reception desk. The rest of the time, we left our wet towels on the leather chairs – but that can’t be a solution for too long… The area is full of love motels - it gets nicer once you get closer to Chungnam Natl University - lots of eateries (though very little English here). We loved the restaurant "Eat My Thai", as well as another Korean fusion place in a newer area to the northwest of the Chungnam main gate, but I do not remember the Korean name. There are so many other hotels in this area, that it seems ridiculous to pay the Ramada price (especially in Daejeon) when the service and facilities are not yet at the level they should be. However, many hotels may not show up on western booking sites... But the area seems to be intransition and building a lot, so maybe soon the western sites will show more hotels here in the Yuseong area.
