We searched for a central Davos Platz hotel with charm and an inside pool. And basically found it, but hey the charm comes at a price. For the current price level we'd recommend giving it a miss. The charm is of course partly due to the age; it's a 19th century Grand Hotel with lots of wings and memories. E.g. an elevator with benches to sit on is lovely! Pool/fitness/sauna also great, with mountain views during the swim/exercising. Nice free ticket for the nextdoor funicular if staying 2 nights or more, and the handy Davos/Klosters Premium pass too. The rooms already are more of a mixed blessing. We had a Superior one, and both the sheer size of the room and the large balcony with deck chairs were impressive. As were the large double bed and the TV/Wifi. But the bathroom looked and felt 40-50 years old for most parts, except two new mirrors (two sinks, great!) with digital clock of which one was already broken. Bath tub old and worn-out, and that sink either gave a too hot or a too cold shower. Some other elements of the room also really need serious refurb, like a wardrobe with broken hinge; the design of the wardrobe and TV cupboard isn't great either when you want to store and (un)pack luggage, and the room looked always dark due to lack of enough lights. Staff were generally friendly and helpful, e.g. Reception. BUT if the room door has a sign outside 'do not disturb' (as we were out for breakfast, and wanted to arrange towels for keep/change after that) and the cleaners simply came into our room (I guess after knocking) and did the cleaning with the wrong info on the towels – a huge shame, rude and lack of proper attitude! And probably the biggest BUT for the whole hotel: for advertising as 4 star, and having that price level, one serves full breakfast (American/English) with hot dishes. _Not_ just continental breakfast with a decent offering of bread and cheese and jam (but limited cereals); as it was quiet the 2nd day we asked the waiter for boiled eggs and he brought them made-to-order, but it's unclear whether this was an extra or a normal part of the breakfast. Overall: too much homework for the hotel to be worth 4 stars currently, more 2-3 stars.

Overall good hotel for summer stay in Davos. OK location in town with friendly staff and great value in town. Everything was clean and had good quality. Hotel LOCATION in the center of Davos directly across the convention center. Everything in town was just a short walk away. Non-smoking King ROOM with courtyard view was very clean and had cozy and modern decoration and furniture. The room size was perfect and arranged very nicely. The room didn’t offer any special views on the lake or mountains due to the location of the hotel. Go somewhere else, if you come for views (or simply go to the mountains). The room had floor to ceiling windows and was very light. The hotel is quite new and in very good shape. The minibar was empty, which gave us a full fridge to use for our personal stuff. I personally prefer this over a in-room mini bar. Room was equipped with LCD TV, ironing board, desk and chair plus relax chair. Bathroom was with new decoration, clean equipped with an half open shower. This looked modern but unfortunately taking a shower got the whole room wet. A/C worked nicely. The highlight of the room was the balcony, which I believe is available for all rooms. The window could be opened completely in order to enjoy the fresh mountain air. Hotel STAFF was very friendly and helpful. Our wishes for room with some view couldn’t be fulfilled, because the hotel was fully booked. The hotel does currently not offer housekeeping unless requested. We did request some housekeeping and the job was done well. Staff also made sure that COVID measures were taken seriously. BREAKFAST: Breakfast was good. Most items like cut meats, cheese and fruit were on buffet and specially wrapped. FITNESS CENTER Fitness Center was well equipped with machines and free weights, etc. It was very quiet. We didn’t use the RESTAURANT and BAR but many other guests did. It seemed fine. PRICE is a good deal compared to the other options in town. You get a robust hotel for your money. PARKING in the open hotel parking lot is CHF 18 a night. Unfortunately the parking was taken. Right in front of the hotel is a Public parking lot, which is free after 18:00 in the summer and costs CHF1/hour or CHF 10 for the day. Sunday’s are cheaper. The value of Hilton Honors points at this location is poor with 0,29 EUR cents per point. Silber / GOLD / Diamond member benefits Gold status was honored with usual benefits at a Garden Inn. The water bottles were provided. WiFi was free and with fair quality. digital check-in was not available. We didn’t need late check-out but would have probably gotten it. Free breakfast was ok. The hotel does not have an executive lounge and free drinks vouchers were not offered.

This hotel is very different! When you arrive, you are in such a silent area away from the bustle of Davos. The hotel appears strange as it was never intended to be a hotel but residential health spa. Rooms are huge and mine had a great view of the mountains and had a fast river near the window which helped me to sleep perfectly. Breakfast was amazing, with rustic bread, perfect cheese, good coffee. Buses and mountain trains are free for guests int he summer. Bus stop is outside the hotel . 20 mins walk back if you are late. Ruth was like a mother to the guests and could not have done more.

I stayed in a single room for five days while attending the Polar 2018 conference in Davos. The stay was super comfortable. The room was big enough to sleep two comfortably. The attached bathroom was cozy with wooden panel roof, and a slate floor. Very airy and bright room with a wide window and good quality curtains to block early monring light for the people who want to sleep late. There is a small table with outlets that could be used as a working desk. The wooden wardrobe has plenty of shelves, and hangers to organize clothes and such. The best amenity is the the spa! There are two types of dry sauna, one has the beautiful view of the mountains. There is an outdoor lounge area with comfortable chaise to relax after the sauna and steamroom. The train station and bus stop are directly across. Just a wonderful place to stay with all the amenities of a full service hotel-restaurant, breakfast, spa- in the swiss Alps without breaking the bank!

These 2 bedroom apartments are located next to the hotel. They have a lovey view of the mountains and village area and are central to shops and restaurants. The actual apartments does not get serviced unless you request and pay extra. The beds were very comfortable even the 2 extra pull out beds in the living room. Very roomy for 6 people. Decor could be updated but was ok. The one thing I disliked was that the kitchen did not have basics like salt, sugar, tea, coffee etc. also no shampoo and not enough toilet paper supplied. It’s all small things but after a long journey there, it was frustrating having to go to the supermarket to buy large quantities of these things to just leave them behind. It would really cost the hotel peanuts to supply these things and make it a much nicer stay for the guests.

I stayed here at the Davos Youth Hostel (Youth Palace) for a few days during early December. Even before I stepped foot on this property, Barbara at the Zurich headquarters and Frau Wyrsch (Regional Mgr.) made all efforts beforehand to make sure my stay at the Davos property would be relaxing and enjoyable. The Davos hostel was running a special early winter season offer that included accommodations and train travel to & from their property. Upon arrival in town with the train, I would suggest exiting the train at Davos Dorf. Exit the station and cross the street to the bus stop in front of the sport store (Steiner Sport). Take bus #1, #3, or #4, three stops to Shiabach. Walk back one block and up Horlaubenstrasse (another 5 min) to the youth hostel. The hostel has a total of 235 beds (shared and family rooms) and was formally a sanitarium (just as their property in Crans-Montana, which I have visited as well). It was the really, really low off season with only a hand-full of guests staying at the property during my stay. I actually walked from Davos Dorf train station to the hostel which is pretty easy and more maneuverable as to exiting at Davos Platz, which is more of a gradual uphill walk. Staff 4* I arrived early on the morning of my check-in intending to check my bag until the check-in time later in the afternoon, but staff person, Thomas, was very nice during my stay and actually immediately checked me into my room. Room 5* My shared four-bunk room was very comfortable. There were so few people in the hostel; I actually had the room to myself during my entire stay. The room has its own shower, toilet, sink, 2Euro large refund deposit lockers, an old time shelf radio, work desk with two chairs, and balcony with relaxing chairs over-looking downtown and the mountains. Above each bed is reading light and box which opens for night storage for eyeglasses or personal items. The bedding was provided and the bed already made. A towel was provided for each bunk. Across the hallway were shared toilets and bathtubs with showers. Services 5* The Youth Palace offers many items to keep you busy when hangin’ out on the hostel. In the lobby area, there is a kid’s corner, exchange book shelf, and tables. At the other end of the lobby past the long sofa, there is another lounging room with padded chairs, pool table, pinball, table fussball, darts and another game. There is a currency change machine for coins in the corner. There is also a resource room full of brochures of the region. There is a table tennis room in the basement. A sundeck is located on west side of the building (a bit of rust on the roof) and a rooftop terrace. There is also an outdoor play area for kids and the building has an elevator. Breakfast 5* Breakfast was included in the rate and very, very good. There was a large seating room with an adjacent extra overflow room. An assortment of breads (one morning fresh croissants), hot beverage machine, tea available 24/
