      Like, I imagine, a number of guests we booked as we had a reservation at one Bray’s restaurant. Our dinner reservation was cancelled due to a Covid outbreak but thought we would go anyway. So glad we did. We were upgraded to a huge room overlooking the river with its own balcony and massive bathroom. the decor is fabulous, location on the river very tranquil, lovely breakfast, Honesty bar with great wines and welcoming hosts. I wonderful antithesis to your usual hotel clone. In the summer they have a river boat for trips or for arriving in style at the waterside inn. Soak up its personality. We will be back.

      Hotel is in appalling condition serious health and safety issues. Someone is going to get badly hurt. I stayed there for two nights over there bank holiday weekend with my mother for a relaxing break it was more like a horror show. On the first day we had a broken bed which the hotel kindly changed us to a new room where we was greeted with a dirty bath broken lamps and dirty floor. In the spa my mum nearly cut her wrist on a broken tile on the Jacuzzi bed reported to the hotel. On the evening on the first night we ordered a burger at the bar it came raw and wasn’t edible. I sent mine back it come back over cooked and tough, we was told by the chef he likes his burgers like that and walked off. (Refunded and hungry) Adam and the lovely young girls at the bar we’re very helpful and hard working. I contacted booking.com as I’ve booked through them and was told I will get a 50% discount on our stay for the disappointing first evening. Day 2- In the spa my mum was hit with force by one of the Jets on the shower on her leg, it was a hard metal piece. ( handed the metal piece to spa reception). The spa was filthy, towels piled up,sanitary towel bins overflowing. Staff were clearly overworked and short staffed. I was ready to leave but was assured by Natasha at reception our afternoon tea will be good an a nice experience. To give them another try to rectify the problems. The afternoon tea that we paid for by cash was not booked we got there and was told there is no afternoon tea left the chef refused to make any more sandwiches so yet again we had to be refunded and another let down. Natasha tried her best to sort something but there was nothing else she could. By this time I already had two glasses of wine so was unable to drive. I told Natasha that I wanted to leave but due to driving I could not so I stayed the second night. The staff at this hotel are lovely especially the Spa manager and Natasha on reception Adam and the younger girls working in the bar, I thank you for that. But I would like to express my concerns about how the younger members of staff in the bar and restaurant are spoken to by your chef. At times these young people were left to deal with difficult customers and at times they look like they were going to break down in tears. As a hotel you should be nurturing these young people so they enjoy working in the hospitality sector, train them well instead of putting them in front of upset customers and thinking that they are going to be able to deal with it. More senior members of staff should’ve dealt with difficult customers instead of letting young people deal with it. To this day the general manager hasn’t even had the decency to reply to my emails or even call to apologise.
