Upon first arrival I did think the outside looked very dated and it’s location I did have second thoughts on going in but once inside my views did change as inside looked very nice and inviting and certainly different than from the outside. The lady who checked me in was very polite as was the bar man who after the first night knew Our drinks order before we even entered the bar area. When we entered the room first impression was very good however on further inspection the room had a lot of cob webs which would appear the room had not been cleaned since the lockdown which was a little concerning and the bathroom looked a little grubby. Even in the restaurant the lampshade was full of cobwebs which makes me think that no deep clean had been carried out prior to opening following the lockdown as we stayed the first week hotels were able to open and again very important where serving food. This hotel was very central for our needs however the beds were so uncomfortable and when staying for a few days could really feel all the bumps and springs and might be worth them investing into new mattresses. We did have two meals during our stay and would say the food was very nice and couldn’t fault that at all.

First of all I have to say the staff were lovely. Polite efficient and responsive. Sadly though, the place was a metaphor for this country. Tired, falling to bits and a bit tacky. Two nights we stayed. The room we were first given had a hole in the bathroom floor and the net curtains were brown in places. So we moved and the new one looked like someone has been skating on the dressing table. The paint was chipped and scuffed here and there. But hey, it was better. Inevitably however, the room key stopped working and the toilet bunged up. I thought the place was quite clean but my Wife smiled and said ‘its superficial’ pointing out the dust on the switch casing and the sticky threshold between the bedroom and bathroom. The breakfast was served quickly with a smile. But the sausages came from the sausage factory, the bacon from the bacon factory and the scrambled egg from the powdered egg factory. (And obviously fried, boiled or poached weren’t available because that would be too near to fresh - likewise the case I guess for the absent tomatoes, mushrooms. ...... or anything else that could be fresh) so nothing much to go wrong there - or right for that matter. And the whole system-built concrete thing sits at the bottom of an ASDA car park next to a derelict place that looks like a massive dirty, petrified igloo. Would I go back. Well yes. Because the bed was comfy, the sheets were clean, it was cheap and I do superficial (unlike my wife). And mostly, I know that when things go wrong, which they inevitably will, the nice staff will be there to cheerfully put things right. Nevertheless, my message to the top bid of Holiday Inn (uk) and it’s board of directors is: Not good enough guys. Knock it down. Don’t be superficial. Don’t be the Ryan Air of hotels.

Group of 20 needed a venue for NYE and the night after in Norwich. After much research we decided on this hotel, as the NYE entertainment looked good and there was a swimming pool. Laura and her team were excellent at handling the booking. We needed to make changes to the booking almost every week in the months leading up to event, but nothing was too much trouble. On arrival, all staff members were really welcoming and friendly. My husband and I stayed in the suite. The decor was a little old fashioned, but the bed was comfortable and the room very clean and tidy. We were able to have pre-drinks in our room before the Ball. The event itself was excellent - great food, great DJ and great live band. The dance floor was never empty. The DJ took requests, which meant even the men in our group got up and had a dance! The following day we all went to a football match and wanted to have a meal on our return at about 8.30pm. We pre-ordered our food and, when we got there, found that we were the only people there. Excellent food again and really great service. The swimming pool was a lovely temperature, but did get quite crowded on new year's day. I would highly recommend large groups attending events here - we were very well looked after.

I stayed two nights at Beaufort Lodge and would definitely return to this beautiful B&B with its hosts Aylwin and Don looking after your every needs. It has three beautifully appointed rooms, a side entrance specifically for guests, sitting room with plenty of guide books on Norwich and parking for three cars, which is so important in a place like Norwich where parking is at a premium. The Breakfast Room overlooked the delightful garden and you could not wish for a better selection of food. The walk into the City centre of Norwich is only 15 minutes away and you will be spoilt for choice for your evening meal, whilst taking in all that this historic city has to offer. Returning to Beaufort Lodge you will find the peace and tranquillity combined with the option to enjoy your tea and coffee in your room, kick of your shoes and unwind something that you will treasure before retiring for the night in a most comfortable bed. This has to be the best place to stay in Norwich.

We stayed here for 2 nights in February, travelled down on a Sunday evening and stayed until Tuesday morning. The room was upgraded for me by the Concierge, and we had a beautiful roll tap bath in the bedroom. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to cook for breakfast. The towel rail in the bathroom didn't work and we couldn't work out how to turn it on, but apart from that everything was perfect. We ate at the pub down the road and the food, and cocktails were great. I will definitely be returning next time I am in the area.

We stayed here early Nov on the special weekend deal RO. Clean cosy room, door a little thin as we were woken very early Sunday am by someone chatting before he went for a run. Very close to town, 10 mins walk maximum. Parking no problem. Very attentive staff, breakfasts were great, coffee could be a little stronger, but the proper tea we had on Sunday was spot on. We will definitely return.

This was booked for me and recommended! The staff were friendly and helpful ,restaurant good was 8/10 good wine too ! I paid £164 for B&B no way was it worth this amount rooms and decor a little worst for wear for this price !! I travel a lot all over the world and at the moment with the corona virus I’m like most people a little bit more critical maybe!! One thing that freaked me out is that I had to get house keeping to clean the toilet and worst of all hairs in my bed , they sorted it immediately & of course with cleaning & new bedding & very apologetic, I just think at this price I was disappointed and with hygiene what we expect today it wasn’t a nice experience.

Norwich City Center
After having three holidays cancelled due to Covid decided to head south to avoid Boris bans up north. Chose Norwich after a short visit a while ago. Hotel was superbly situated with ample parking and a friendly welcome on arrival, all COVID restrictions in place but managed very well. We initially had booked two nights but extended to the third. The room was typical premier inn clean, spacious and a decent bathroom, there was no room cleaning available unless specially requested due to the pandemic. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent despite it having to be table service and the choice was all still available, we also ate twice in the restaurant and the food along with the service was excellent and good value. The city centre shopping is a ten minute walk away along with several decent bars, one mention for the pub across the road from the inn ( the complete angler) which was both lovely and friendly

My wife and I enjoyed a stay at Travel Lodge Acle recently and were very pleased with the efforts made in relation to maintaining guest and staff safety in regard to Covic 19. The cleanliness and upkeep of the rooms and other areas was clearly a priority for the staff and in this they succeeded. Sadly some guests did not always take the guidance regarding the wearing of face coverings and respecting space as seriously as they should but this was not the fault of the Travel Lodge staff. Unfortunately some people leave common sense at home when on holiday. The value and availability was second to none and the opportunity to take our dog with us during the stay was another great bonus made, thank you Travel Lodge. We have stayed at many TLs around the country and will continue to do so as our first choice for future short breaks etc.

We decidedto head out to Norfolk for a last minute few days away. In the midst of everyone staying i nthe UK during the corona virus pandemic, not much choice was available. We had initially wanted to stay close to the coast but the rest of the UK had the same idea as us it seems. Faced with limited choices we looked further and further in land. The Church Farm Guest house came up with 2 available rooms and the reviews looked good. We arrived to find plenty of parking at what looked like a collection of houses, all owned by the family that own the hotel. Once inside we were greeted by a lovely lady who knew who we were and confirmed our details. We were given our rooms which were very clean and well presented. Both containg microwaves and one even hada fridge which was handy. When we arrived for Breakfast the following mornign we were again greeted by all the staff, very friendly throughout. It was a very welcoming place. The breakfast was good and the service excellent. I have stayed in places treble the price and not got such a friendly, clean and comfortable stay. Pleasantly surprised.

stayed here 29/30 June.. single room, as an over night stop in a 36 hour/700 mile motorcycle journey. I booked, on the basis several things; firstly the reviews.. very very good. secondly the cost, £45 room only with en-suite... superb. and thirdly, and probably the most important thing for me personally, the secure motorcycle parking.. I've rarely seen this advertised and certainly not in my experience of the dozens of hotels and b and b that I've used in Norfolk over the years. for me, the secure motorcycle parking made it a no brainer. it could've been twice the price, I'd have booked it. the room, was great, small but functional. the en suite was perfect. very clean and tidy. very fresh. out in the sticks, of the beaten track. no noise pollution.. really really nice. I met lisa at check in time just after 3pm, was given a key and told there was no curfew. great as I was there to visit family and may be late. here's where the "but" comes in. there's no secure motorcycle parking!! there's not even SAFE motorcycle parking!!! as you turn into the drive you're faced with deep, loose, yellow stone shingle! and it's a 90 degree turn into the drive.. so the front end just gives way.. you can't steer and the rear just wants create divots.. . now, I'm sure that SNGH will reply and say that they've had dozens of happy bike riders stay there, and I don't doubt it. but, for me, riding one of the heaviest bikes in production, Yamaha FJR1300AE @ 296kg plus 25kg of panniers and my own (cough, lol) 80 something kilos, it was a very very expensive accident waiting to happen. not to mention the possibility of being under the bike when it goes over, either whilst on it or whilst trying to manoeuvre the machine and your foot slips on the loose stone, and it did several times.. there is a small piece of hard stand, just big enough for one car, which I was initially offered, but upon return to SNGH at 22:40, the car had been moved so as to deny me access to the hard stand and note left in my room informing me that the car was needed first thing and could I not park there please.. reasonable?? yeah probably.. but.. why not park the car on the shingle and allow a biker a hard stand?? there were plenty of unused spaces.. so after 290 miles, 15 hours, riding in 30 degrees heat I end up spending a further half an hour trying to manoeuvre 300kg of motorbike on soft stone that has the consistency of beach sand, on my own in the middle of nowhere.. medical help is at least half an hour away in Norwich. if that bike had gone over and trapped my legs I'd have been in serious trouble. so, in summary, establishment, room, price, location, brilliant.. I may even stay here again if the wife and I come down in the car.. BUT the secure bike parking (see inc advertising from SNGH) Non existent..!!! bike friendly environment...NO!!! biker friendly staff ... NO!!! Sorry, but as an experienced, advanced rider, ( RoPSA Gold) ex instructor, I cannot recommend the estab
