I booked this hotel for a five night stay and was not disappointed. It is a terrific hotel right in the centre of Ajaccio old town, close to the ferry port and cruise terminal with various bus stops nearby as well. The number 5 bus goes out to gorgeous beaches and we caught this from Place de Gaulle bus stop which was about a 3 minute walk away. There are lots of shops and places to eat outside the hotel or down on the port. Our room was clean and reasonably spacious with a flat screen TV, air conditioning, a fridge and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was a good size and fairly modern with a hair dryer and nice towels. There is also an iron available so I was in ironing heaven. The breakfast was €12 per person with eggs, beautiful fresh fruit salad, cereal, yoghurt, lovely bread rolls, croissants, wonderful home made cake, delicious ham and cheese and great coffee.. The staff are pleasant and very helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The best part of this hotel was the staff. Since our room was also used as an optional long-term rental, we had to complete an extensive check list of what was included in the room and its condition. Take the time to check this thoroughly. As stated in the hotel description you are a short walk to beaches , market, harbor, and groceries. The Boulangerie across the street was a daily stop for us. Would recommend you eat from the many food trucks along the beach to save $ and enjoy the outdoors. You can also easily access hiking trails from the hotel. Yes, the hotel is older, but the room was updated. Not the best work, but it was clean. We did not rent a car, but the staff showed us how to find buses, trains, and cabs. It was a last minute trip and we would stay here again.

We spent 3 nights in this nice hotel and we just loved it! We booked a room with sea/pool view and had a nice terrace, ideal place to get our breakfast in the morning. We could hear a child running the first evening and morning and told the staff at Reception and it didn’t happen again. The size of the pool is perfect, nice and comfy deck chairs around , great view overlooking the sea, Ajaccio on the left hand side and Porticcio on the other side of the golfe, beautiful The small beach was never crowded even mid August The bicycles free to borrow from Réception are ideal to cycle to town (or 20 min pleasant walk) and even to the Pointe Parata to watch the stunning Sanguinaires island (35 min) In the evening, the restaurant A Terrazza is a must and deserves a Michelin star, don’t forget to book to make sure you’ll get a table. For breakfast you can choose between continental (16€) or buffet (21€) All with very good and local products The choice for lunch is not that wide but still great food, delicious and tasty. The staff is young, friendly, sometimes not focused but always trying its best. A really nice place where we just wish to go back.

Thank you for an amazing stay and the upgrade in one of your best rooms. The staff was very welcoming and thoughtful towards my late arrival and took the time to welcome me at the wee hour. Thre breakfast room was indoors as it's winter but the buffet is more than one can eat. The room was modern, clean and very well decorated. The couch in the privilege rooms is very handy and one of my favorites. The bathroom is modern and very functional. The view is limited, yes, but honestly, the sea is just a across the street, so get outside ;) The hotel is located nearby the city center (1.5km) and nearby the roads to take you where you want. There are many bus stops outside to drive you to the city center before changing to any other destination if you prefer public transportations.

Very noisy rooms, you can basically hear the traffic and people shouting on the highest floor, like you were sitting on the street! Old hotel renovated, so the walls, terraces, hallways, doors, curtail, closet and the hotel facade are shabby (especially the hallways and the doors). There is a water leakage mark on the ceiling of the bathroom, the water is not warm constantly (it is changing from cold to warm by itself), and the water is flowing out from the bathroom even when you are showering very carefully facing the wall. There are like 10-15 parking places for the whole hotel, and the parking is not closed. Staff is definitely not nice.. Upon requesting to check the room before paying, we were denied by the receptionist, saying that she was alone, and she only let us to the room after paying the full amount. The rooms are not looking directly towards the see, there is a very dirty alley and a street between as well, so no chance of nice panorama pics.

Sun Beach Hotel is around 2 km west of Ajaccio town centre, and overlooks the bay. It has 10 floors, with approx 14 rooms on each floor. It's of concrete construction, and the rooms are all a good size with their own en-suite and air conditioning as standard. We booked for one night at the end of our holiday, so we could chill out and relax before flying back to the UK. The price was low for the area. We booked this hotel as it had a pool, and we just wanted to stay near to the airport as we had been staying up in the mountains. So, we were met by the receptionist who was very friendly, and gave us our keys to the rooms. The rooms are very basic, but have air con, and are of good size. Our rooms had balconies - I think they all do. The beds are comfortable and well presented, and there's a TV with all the local channels, simple washing items and towels. It's all very clean and tidy, although a bit dated, which we expected at such a reasonable price. The pool is nice too, and there are a few sun loungers available, and you can use the hotel towels at the pool. The bar is on the ground floor and serves all day. There's a restaurant too, although we chose to eat out. In all, a decent hotel for not too much wonga, ideal for a short stay.

Very comfortable, extremely clean. Lovely air conditioning to keep you cool during the hot weather. We had a comfortable room with a small balcony at the back of the hotel overlooking the railway line. The view was perfectly fine, quite interesting really, very quiet when we shut the sliding doors. The pool was gorgeous but found it slightly annoying that quite a few people put towels on sunbeds to reserve them, and then disappeared off somewhere for hours, leaving very few sunbeds available at times. The hotel staff were very welcoming but many of the waiting staff spoke little English. Breakfast was great and good value. A good variety of hot and cold food,as well as fruit, nuts, cereal, bread and pastries. The evening menu was very nice, limited if you are vegetarian though and a little bit pricey. The hotel was handy for Recanto Beach through an underpass. However, the underpass could have done with some maintenance, a good clean and painting. The lifts to the underpass did not work. I presume that the underpass is not the responsibility of the hotel though, but probably the local council. Recanto Beach was beautiful, white sand, very clean. There was very little shade on the beach so a sun shade is a good idea. There was a lifeguard station which was manned during the day. There is a handy snack bar serving cold drinks and paninis during the day. Further along the beach was the wonderful Tahiti Bar. We had several excellent meals there. They are open during the day and in the evening. They hire out sun beds in front of the bar. The hotel was next to Recanto train station. The train kept to the timetable, which was given to me by the hotel reception. 2 Euros to get to Ajaccio in approx 5-10 minutes. A trip into the city is a must. We spent a couple of lovely days exploring Ajaccio. It cost 25 Euros to get a taxi to the airport, the journey took 5 minutes. All in all, a lovely relaxing stay in Corsica. Brush up on your French before you go and a phrase book is a must if your French is as bad as mine. Consider hiring a car, which we will definitely be doing next time so we can see more of this stunning island.

We enjoyed one of the finest sea food meals ever set against the beauty of the coast and bay. The lobster was grilled to perfection and the initial preparation done expertly by the waiter. Our party enjoyed lobster, crab, fillet steak and lamb cutlets. Each dish was cooked to perfection. The service was prompt yet relaxed. Fine dining in a friendly atmosphere set in the perfect location. Dreamy. Such a meal does not come cheaply but two of us ate the lobster, and yes it was well worth it. As for the hotel, well the rooms are more like small apartments and magnificently appointed. Sea views comfort and class. It is all in the name. Dolce Vita.

Perfect hotel for your last nights Corsica before taking the plane back home. It's very close to the airport (in 10 minutes you're at the car rental drop off) but also to some gas stations where you can clean up your car (e.g. 200m from a Total - 1 euro / 4 min vacuum cleaner). The city center is also only 15 minutes from the hotel. The rooms itself are modern and clean but rather small. If you are with 3p, you will get a double bed and one bed above it (kind of bunk bed). Breakfast is basic but good (price / quality). Service personnel is very friendly and helpful.

Visited with friends for a period of 8 days. The hotel was convenient for Ajaccio airport, taking about half an hour to get to. It’s right on the coast with amazing views of the crystal clear sea. The room was lovely and clean. The main problem we faced was the fact the shower didn’t have a screen or curtain which meant that after 3 people had showered the bathroom became wet quite quickly. Breakfast at the hotel was €12, which we felt was expensive so didn’t try it out. The hotel was lacking in facilities in terms of a bar to get a drink or snack. However, there was a well stocked vending machine. The room had a small, mini-bar sized fridge which was handy for keeping snacks for a lunch in. The housekeeping team were very jolly and always interested in your day. The pool at the hotel is lovely, but watch out for the decking as it gets quite hot quite quickly! The hotel has plenty of parking - we hired a car for a few days during our stay and didn’t have a problem getting parked. There are a number of small coves, ideal for snorkelling, within a short walk. The nearest was literally opposite the garden door and the sea was crystal clear. Nearby Scudo has a small selection of restaurant, a larger beach and a small shop.

The hotel is a flat-topped building of little architectural merit. It is built on the sea shore, but where the beach is particularly stony. The views of the bay of Ajaccio are spectacular, and in particular the tower of Parata and the islands Sanguinaires are well visible. Rooms are built like barracks, and if you don't book one with a sea view, you will look onto the rear of another room (not very scenic at all). Staff are friendly and if you wish to dive, the local fraternity will teach you all you need to know. The food is quite tasty, but a bit limited in choice. There is a menu in English & German. The beds are comfortable, but beware if you are a non-smoker that the room is well ventilated and cleaned. Some tiles in our bathroom were rather shoddily repaired. Access to the beach was not well signposted, and there was very little space to lie on sand. (The near-by Palm Beach was much nicer and sandier) There is nothing to do near the hotel, so you are a bit stuck there, although the bus no. 5 (from Ajaccio Place de Gaulle) stops right at the hotel (cost 1 Euro only!). A ticket with the bus is transferable to bus no. 1,2 or 3 if you want to travel to the station for the small gauge train to Bastia or Calvi, or take the no, 8 bus to the Airport (5 Euro).
