The breakfast was standard, there was a lot of fruit and pastries. Check in and check out was quick and staff friendly. Bonus: there was a huge supermarket right across the street.

|0.55km from city centerThe hotel Donatello is well located across from the city's Basilica di San Antonio, and about 5 minutes from the famous Prato della Valle and 10-15 from the city centre and old city (university, ghetto, daily markets, pedestrian street, etc). From the outside, the hotel looks quite elegant and I suspect that front facing rooms have a nice view. To be honest, however, everything else about the hotel was rather disappointing. Rooms are actually tired and pretty gloomy. The single rooms are extremely small, the doubles are of decent size but tend to overlook blind narrow courtyards and feel rather dark and a bit depressing with a decor that seems stuck in the 1970s. Cleanliness is variable, lighting unpleasant, and whilst beds are decent, the pillows are hard and quite uncomfortable. Breakfast is quite poor. If you come when one of the ladies taking care of the breakfast room are around, they will prepare you a decent coffee from the barista machine, however, if they are not, it is a fairly ghastly automatic machine that uses instant coffee to make ”fake” espressos and cappuccino which is used instead. Juice is a strange watery thing from a machine. The best part are the nice homemade cornetti (croissants filled with jam, cream or chocolate) but apart from them, fruit, salad, bread, etc are all of poor quality and the scrambled eggs and meat are stone cold. There is a toaster which doesn't seem to work well and mediocre bread. Service in the hotel is not very friendly - reception staff ranged from reasonably cordial to barely polite and in one case, outright unpleasant. In short, the place is certainly not horrible, but equally, it doesn't seem too bothered about customers let alone interested in making them want to come back. A bit of a wasted opportunity given the nice location they fail to capitalise on.

|1.59km from city centerCominciamo con le note positive. - Hotel molto vicino alla fiera (5 minuti a piedi) e ben fornito dai mezzi. I monolocali sono molto accoglienti e ben forniti: sono presenti la tv, la lavastoviglie, il microonde, il lavandino e un tavolo/*****ola molto comodo seppur piccino. Il bagno ha una doccia spaziale con soffione e doccino, ci sono il bagnoschiuma e il sapone per le mani, ci sono gli asciugamani. Consiglio di portarsi l'asciugacapelli perché è presente ma poco potente se avete molti capelli. Il letto per me è stato estremamente comodo ma avviso che il materasso è duro e non a tutti piace. Finestre molto grandi, perfette per rinfrescare le sere d'estate. Doppia tenda (una bianca leggera e l'oscurante), molto comode. Le note negative che, ahimè, sono abbastanza. - Partiamo col dire che è un 4 stelle superior quindi ci si aspetterebbe determinati servizi come il wi fi gratuito nei monolocali che non c'era (abbastanza assurdo nel 2023); un telefono interno collegato alla reception, il telefono c'era ma nessun numero da poter chiamare quindi in caso di bisogno si deve scendere, uscire dal palazzo, attraversare un piccolissimo cortile ed entrare nella struttura principale (questo posso accettarlo in un 2 stelle, non 4) e il kit di benvenuto con spazzolino, dentifricio, shampoo e balsamo. Il frigobar NON è incluso ed è completamente sfornito (una bustina di patatine, due acqua e un succo) alla ”modica” cifra di 3€. La colazione non è inclusa nel prezzo (prezzo che non è assolutamente irrisorio) ma anzi, costa la bellezza di 10€ ed è a buffet. La pulizia delle camere abbastanza scarsa onestamente: gatte di polvere sulle tende, polvere sui davanzali, macchie di caffè sul muro, qualche capello lungo su un paio di asciugamani e nel letto. Non c'erano dei lenzuoli leggeri nell'armadio, assurdo essendo estate e il letto ha una trapunta. Eviterei di descrivere il letto come ”queen bed” perchè potrebbe fuorviare, è semplicemente un letto matrimoniale leggermente stretto. Il personale molto cordiale e gentile anche se sbrigativo e poco esaustivo. Diciamo che, a mio avviso, non vale il prezzo che costa.

|2.02km from city centerWe had an emergency and had to leave Dubrovnik for Lyon, France. Padua was a good mid way stopping point, and we wanted no complications. We needed parking, a restaurant and not be in the centre of town. Biri satisfied on all counts. The hotel is modern and clean, excellent parking in a lot next door. Restaurant and bar on the top floor. A lovely Romanian young lady served us at dinner, she spoke excellent English and was very efficient and friendly. The Chef introduced himself ad the food we had was fine. My only quibble would be the hard pillows but the bed was comfortable, the bathroom a good size and its was quiet.

|0.61km from city centerMy husband and I booked a family room this year, just for the 2 of us , because that was all that was available - they are that popular! The room was in the newly renovated Galileo annex and it was wonderful: spacious & well-thought-out; the bathroom was great with a roomy fabulous shower, great water pressure & plenty of hot water. There was lots of closet space and storage, too. It was a partitioned studio, really with, in addition to the bedroom area, a sofa that also made into a bed (which we didn’t need.) All of this at a very reasonable rate! There was a heating issue that required a plumber (nothing major, but something that made us very uncomfortable.) The staff moved us to another room as soon as they were able ( it wasn’t easy because they were fully booked!) and I only write about this in order to demonstrate the kindness of the desk staff. Our new room was a double in the same annex; smaller, of course but also well-fitted. The other thing both rooms shared, unfortunately, was very spotty WIFI. If this is of great importance to you, I would suggest booking in the main building or another annex. This is the only reason I’ve given 4 instead of 5 stars. On a very bright note, after Covid the breakfast buffet has returned: plentiful with varied options ( yes, hot eggs! Beautiful, buttery scrambled eggs!) and, if not already included in your room rate, at a very reasonable 8€. And yes - we WILL gladly return!

The breakfast was abundant with lots of variety. The location -- a stone's throw from the train station, with a tram stop almost at your doorstep -- could not be better.

Many of the major tourist sites of interest are nearby with the added bonus of being surrounded by little streets with eateries and cafes. The staff were incredibly helpful, way above and beyond that which we might have expected. It was them who really contributed to making this a gem in the heart of Padua.

As standard in Italy (luckily)windows can be opened in full. The location is very handy for a stopover if you travel by car. Motorway is very close. Other than that the location is not appealing at all but this is clearly not hotel’s fault. I mean I wouldn’t choose this hotel as base to visit Padua. Parking both outside as well as beneath the hotel. I had dinner, very nice and efficient service, food was OK. I didn’t have breakfast.

Great room, too, with some modern furnishings, but without windows !!!!!! But with a cement wall that in the sun's peak hours you are forced to light the air conditioned as much as possible, so that you can breathe. It will be comfortable for anyone who has to stay to be near the Civil Hospital, perhaps to visit or anything else, but this does not justify the style of the 80s of the entrance and common rooms. The hotel is comfortable with a car park, all the roads of the blue strip surroundings. Adequate price because you are 10 minutes walk from the Basilica of Sant'Antonio, the Scrovegni Capella, the Prato della Valle, other churches and the center with shops and bars for a good spritz. I personally did not like it and I would not return to it, even though the staff was very kind and careful.

Padova was our second stop on the trip and my favorite by far, and the staff at the M14 are definitely a large part of why. The people in Padova in general are simply fantastic. The staff here went out of their way to make us feel welcome and valued during our stay while also wanting to have some fun with us which was amazing! |5.05km from city centerThis is our second stay at the Garibaldi Hotel, and we definitely plan on going back to it if and when we might travel to the area. The staff is very accommodating, breakfast is wonderful, and it's also conveniently close to the train stop (about a 10 minute walk), which makes trips to any destination (Verona, Milan, Venice, Trieste, etc..) an extremely easy task. On top of everything, prices are more than reasonable, considering that a double with breakfast was roughly $60 a night. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Venice (a 20 minute train ride, at the incredible cost of $5 each way) or any other place in the area given its proximity to the railway.

|0.5km from city centerThere is nothing special about this hotel, particularly for such a fascinating city as Padua. Nevertheless, the rooms are clean and spacious, and they have a private balcony. Bring up a bottle of wine and enjoy it ”al fresco” in the privacy of your own room. Though breakfast is included, it's nothing special, and you are better off wandering outside until you hit one of the many local bars. The location, however, is very good. While the street itself is nothing to brag about, it's steps away from the must-see site of the Scrovegni Chapel (painted by Giotto), and minutes from all the other major sites in the city.

|3.49km from city centerI assume that when this hotel arrives, it is a good thing if it is in its guidelines, the room is not bad, even the underground parking structure, but the serious problem of this hotel is staff, We asked for a lower coat, having to stay 3 nights and if it was not for the night shift Lord who found it, my cervical would have suffered so much. The bar despite the food and its variety was good for the staff of a unique maleducation. The chilli on the cake arrived during the last night of stay, entering the room of unwallowed baskets, obviously unclean floor, unreplaced hygienic paper and produced in the finished shower, as to say “ so much is the Last night, when I made my shows in a courteous way the two girls at the reception, untreated and insolent said that it was not dependent on them one of the two intervened saying if you want now I can only change her room, I assume that my own was a simple pointing, so, given the cost, I would not have disregarded to have more than the good personal structure of Education.

|1.35km from city centerLocation was initially hard to find, but I saw a sign on the street pointing the right way to go. My directions gave two ways to go. The first involved going uphill and there were bikes whizzing by, so it wasn't very good if you have luggage. The other was flat and went by a bunch of people hanging out in the street. I didn't feel threatened but it isn't the best area in this lovely city. I don't know what it's like after dark. Basically, you take a right at the McDonalds, walk down the street past the Ethnic Market (a larger convenience store where I bought Coke Zeros several times) and follow the street around to the roundabout, take a right and go about 2-3 blocks. Staff was pleasant, helped with a safe issue (a prior occupant had left it locked) and kept their cool when I spilled some Coke Zero on the floor when retrieving my luggage that I had left after checking out. Internet was good, safe was a good size, and breakfast was good in terms of quality and quantity. There is a restaurant in the hotel that was closed Sunday night. We were very tired one night and ate there and we were glad that it was available. There isn't a lot around the hotel but it was a short walk to a nice area that had a lot of restaurants . We also were able to walk to a laundromat in the area as well as all of the tourist attractions. One curious thing about the hotel was that the room numbers were on the carpet instead of being on the door.

|0.58km from city centerThe hotel is in a great location: it is in the historic centre but accessible with the baggage-download machine and it is a little lucky to park freely 5 minutes walking distance. It is not very new, especially with regard to common parts or details such as silicone on the edges of the shower, but the rooms are kept clean and in good order. The services are a little more spartany and sacrificed: TV is small and is close to 45 degrees from the bed, the air conditioner works very slowly and the refrigerator is absent. It was also not possible to delay the exit of the room by a few hours on the last day, but the luggage deposit is offered in a dedicated room.
A good solution in general if there are no specific needs but you are looking for a well-located job at affordable prices, perhaps for work.
