Had been in touch with hotel before travelling to find out about COVID testing venues and staff member, Mark Speranza went beyond all expectations to assist me. Check in was smooth and staff friendly. Our room was at the front on the first floor and was very comfortable with two large beds and an impressive shower in the bathroom. Could have done with a better shelf in bathroom to store our toiletries bag. The room was really comfortable but unfortunately there was some building work in a nearby building which seemed to go on very late so disturbed our sleep, but it was beyond the control,of the hotel. The location is really convenient- easy walk to Grand Central Station, bus stops , or walking to Times Square. We would definitely stay here again if we were back in New York.

I read a lot of comments and chose this hotel. I really didn't choose the wrong one. The location is very good, whether it is a long-distance bus or subway, or take the airport bus to the airport, or want to go to the Grand Central Railway Station, very close. . . There is also Times Square. . . At the intersection of 41st Street and Madison Avenue, the door is small, mainly the name on the door is written in a special font, which made us not notice when we first went there. 200 meters away from the New York City Public Library, which is not 200 meters away from Fifth Avenue, it is not necessary. There are three types of rooms in the hotel, which are about 19, 25, and 33 square meters, and 19 is relatively small. I booked 25 for the second night, but the order information sent by Ctrip to the hotel was wrong. The first night I checked in was the 19 room. It was very late to react. The size of the room was wrong. I coordinated with the front desk and Ctrip. Ctrip immediately found the problem and made compensation, and moved to the largest room of 33 the next day. If it is a single person, the room of 19 is enough. For two people, the baggage can't be opened, and it can only be put to the bedside. In addition, in particular, after the store, the hotel charges a fee of 20 US dollars per day. This fee is breakfast, all-day coffee snacks, afternoon tea, which is very worthwhile. Especially afternoon tea, with cheese, fruit, a variety of small snacks, red and white wine and champagne. . . . In addition, this location is on 41st Street, when the 99th Street in Central Park in New York is basically a full 2km. I ran in the morning and ran another 10km in Central Park. I am very happy. Central Park is a must-see for everyone who loves sports. Running, cycling, and dog-walking are all very good. . .

No breakfast, the room is small but very quiet and clean. It is enough to stay in a business trip. Some old-fashioned restaurants in New York don't know how much to clean. It is also very convenient to go out. It takes 2-3 minutes to walk from the Central Railway Station.

The hotel is very close to the Central Railway Station and Fifth Avenue. The only downside is that the front desk gave me the third floor 308, there are many outdoor air conditioners outside the window, some noisy. The hotel is good, I hope to check with the front desk to have a quiet room in the future.

We stayed here during our trip for five days. This was our first time in New York City and it was exceptional. Since it was the first time visiting, I spent weeks researching hotels looking at neighborhoods, reviews, room types, everything! I’m so happy we decided on The Gotham! From the front desk to the restaurant there were no issues. Everyone was very helpful, attentive, and kind. The pictures are exactly like the rooms. We stayed in the king balcony room on the back side of the building which was really cool and quiet. We also stayed in the queen balcony room because we didn’t do our dates correctly lol and thankfully they had a room open. Looking out on the balcony in the queen room was awesome. We are returning over Christmas and have rebooked the queen balcony room and I can’t wait! This room is noisier but it’s not to the point of not being able to sleep. My husband and I live in the country surrounded by cow fields so if I can sleep with the noise level anyone can!

Very nice hotel, great staff, clean room, and comfortable bed. Problem was the heat that cycled on and off all night long--and the absence of any controls to turn off or adjust the setting. They've stripped the controls from the rooms, apparently. The temperature was fine, but the noise was a big issue--disrupted my sleep all night. I'd recommend the hotel wholeheartedly if this sort of thing doesn't;t bother you or if you travel with a white noise machine. Marriott should make a white noise app available on their TV. (An all-night-long app on phone would drain the battery so need it on the TV.) That would solve the problem. Also, I was on a high floor but could still occasionally hear traffic. In that regard, a white noise app on the TV would be cheaper for Marriott then switching out all the windows to better tamp down the outside noise.

Just back from a 3 night stay at this lovely boutique hotel. Travelled with a friend: we had a single room each. Both rooms very nice & spacious. Immaculate bedding, pleasing queen size large beds for single occupancy rooms. Nicely furnished with plenty of lamps, desk, armchair, coffee machine, fridge, TV, good bath with over head shower. Toiletries provided (eco friendly wall dispenser style). Plenty of towels. Large wardrobe/bathrobes. Only thing missing is a kettle (if you’re a Brit like me - probably would like to be able to make a cup of tea in room!) This hotel is well situated in midtown. Literally a couple of minutes from Grand Central Station. Service excellent. It’s obviously an old building from perhaps the 1930s? and has real charm. Seems quite newly decorated in the rooms. Calm atmosphere in reception area. I would highly recommend this hotel. My room was 1401 on 14th floor - no traffic noise.

I've always been fascinated about these Pod type hotels, but after staying here I realized its not for me. If you're okay living in a constrained small place then this place shouldn't be an issue. Being only 5.10 tall, I kept hitting myself here and there in the bed, washroom. But other than that, the place is conveniently located to landmarks like Grand Central Station, Times Square, Empire State Building, etc. Very courteous and helpful staff. The hotel has shuttle or taxi service to JFK which is very reliable.

As a hotel choice near the airport, I think it is very good. Clean, everything that should be there. You can order the hotel’s meal and it will be delivered directly to the door. It’s hard to say how it tastes, but it’s good to deliver it to the door. The airport shuttle bus is very convenient. It runs every half an hour. Just go to the front desk to talk about it five minutes in advance.

The hotel room has a smell, the building is outside construction, there is no scenery, the door face is too small to find, breakfast is a can sing coffee, but the advantage is that the service is good, it looks like a very traditional family hotel The price is also suitable.

During the epidemic, the protective measures for shop assistants were OK. They were required to wear masks when they entered the store, and they had to fill in a form. The aunts who practiced hygiene also wore masks throughout the entire process. New York is much better than other states. The rooms are quite clean in several Inns around the airport. Fortunately, if the rooms on the third floor are given by the front desk, half of the rooms on the first floor are in the basement. There are no good restaurants nearby, but Uber Eats can order takeaway, Chinese or Korean food from afar, and even CoCo milk tea. Generally speaking, everything is ok.

It is a general motel class hotel. However, their pick-up service was particularly good. After getting off the baggage, they called the front desk. The car arrived in about 3 minutes. I have not seen such a fast pick-up service after so many places. I have to pay special awards. Breakfast..... not how, don't expect too much.

The hotel is very good, about 5-10 minutes walk from the subway station, near the NW line, a little farther away from the E, NQRW line. The overall style of the hotel was old and retro. At the beginning, I was afraid of noisy on the second floor (actually soundproofed). The hotel helped me to switch to a 12-room room with a balcony. Finally, when checking out, the average weekly service tax of about 20 knives is collected every day.

The room facilities are complete and pleasant. Free yoga mats and foam shafts are provided. Morning and evening workouts can be played on the TV. Everything is related to the concept of fitness. However, the service of the restaurant electric lemon was really bad. When the breakfast was taken, the waiter gave the menu and left. No one came to ask for coffee or tea. After a few minutes to prepare the order, I couldn't find the waiter ... … Finally stopped a waiter passing by, I said I was ready to order, and she was still unhappy to ask me Are we in a rush? (Is it in a hurry?) This attitude and tone really made me doubt myself Not a five-star hotel.

      Times Square
There are not many people who comment on it. The hotel is on 49th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues. The roads in Manhattan are easy to recognize, just right and street. Start on Fifth Avenue and then sixth, seventh, Broadway and eighth. In the middle is the street. The Port Authority's main station (that is, the coach station) is on 42nd Street, Times Square is on 47th Street, and the subway can be a 50th Street station, very close. A lot of food nearby (Ichiran Ramen, Shake Burger, Michelin Steak House). The hotel is not a well-known brand in the chain, it is relatively small and not luxurious, but the price is not cheaper than the surrounding Marriott or the like. Last year, I stayed at Marriott very large. The exterior looks larger and more luxurious than this. After all, his infrastructure is very early. But this good place is closer to Times Square than the quiet Marriott there, rooms have microwaves, coffee machines, free fruit and apples, bananas, potato chips, ice water for 24 hours downstairs. There is coffee and tea on the second floor, and friends can sit there. There are slippers, umbrellas and toiletries in the room. L'Occitane. These are not available in American hotels. Dental appliances are not. I booked an agent's twin room at Ctrip at first, which was 500 yuan cheaper than the official website. There are two types of twin beds on the official website. One is ordinary and the other is a barrier-free room with a handrail. The difference between these two types is 500. The double bed marked on Ctrip did not say that it was an accessible room. I booked Ctrip for a small farmer. The fact that I got the room was a barrier-free room, and that 500 was not bad. And it was very low on the third floor. It was super dark in high-rise New York. I went to the front desk to upgrade the suite. The front desk gave me a good discount and added me 50 dollars a day. Hall, bedroom with double bed, double sofa bed in the hall, both bath and shower, and 3 cloakrooms with bathrobe hangers. Ctrip's hotel booking is really very metaphysical, the price and official website are not bad, the room type is difficult to determine, I have learned lessons before. Anyway, the hotel location is convenient and the facilities can be serviced or not. The price is not bad. People do not look at their choices. There is a parking lot on the side of the hotel, and you can also park on behalf of the guests. On the side is the Ambassador Theater staged by Ryoko Micura of Chicago, which is opposite the Mormon Theater.

Finally a hotel that gets it. I become irritated when looking online at hotels and discover how many have succumbed to the gimmick of “resort fees” or “destination fees” to squeeze a few more dollars out of the traveler. I am not going to use the gym. A big breakfast does not interest me. I have my cell phone for long distance calls. I resent being forced to pay for “privileges” that I will not be using. Civilian makes it all so simple. Do you want to use the gym? Then pay for it. Do you want to have breakfast in the hotel? Then pay for it. It is all so simple! Customize your stay to your own preferences. Having gotten all that off my chest… As a solo traveler, I chose the ”Cozy Queen” which was adequate for me… big bed (very comfortable), big TV (with several OnDemand options), huge window facing the street (making the room bright and giving a sense that it is larger than perhaps it really is), and a larger bathroom than I have typically found in NYC. There is a bar on the second floor with a terrace overlooking the street. Inside is spacious and nicely decorated with miniature stage sets from Broadway shows. Civilian is less than a year old… everything is shiny and new. All the members of the staff whom I encountered were welcoming and pleasant and ready with a smile or greeting. Civilian is top notch!!

I moved from a Times Square hotel where my room was old and the size of a closet to the Renaissance Chelsea. I used points for the stay and the manager Jessica greeted me by name and told me that she had been working on my reservation and was happy to upgrade me to a suite. They offered the standard points and also offered points in lieu of breakfast, along with a late checkout. This was wonderful and much appreciated. What I appreciated even more was the beautiful, spacious, clean suite with a fabulous view of the Empire State Building and New York City. Beautiful art throughout and nice clean furniture. Even though the room as ADA, it was still nice and I felt so relaxed in this space vs coming from a space that was brown, small, noisy and hot/humid. Oh, they also gave me a brand new (still in the package) compact umbrella for the threatening evening rain. - I will definitely stay here on my next trip to NYC!

Arrived at the peak of the stay on Friday afternoon, I was told that I had to wait an hour to go to the restaurant next to my lunch. When I asked again, I was upgraded to a suite. It is much better than the St Regis service in Florence, and the breakfast is just fine. The typical American breakfast, which can eat 50%, is very good. Oh. First let me start by saying that I was contacted by the hotel for feedback following my stay. I asked via email and voicemail to have the General Manager give me a call and waited before writing this review. I asked the Director of Guest Services for follow up and still have not been contacted. Check in-We had a great experience at check with the front desk. The agent was efficient and friendly. She followed up with a phone call to the room to see that everything was ok which we appreciated. Room-The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a little small. Housekeeping-At check in we were told to call before noon if we wanted housekeeping. We did call and were told that they could only pick up trash and bring clean towels. I know this has changed since the pandemic and we were fine with this. Bar and food- We did not receive any welcome drink or champagne so after we settled in we went to the bar for a drink and something to eat. We were told that there was a private event and that they could not accommodate us. After some push back the hostess said we could sit down for one drink but must be done in 20 minutes. I understand private events are lucrative but there should always be some space for guests to relax and get a drink after a long journey. Before arriving I had called the front desk and asked to speak to a concierge about reservations. I was told that all of the reservations for the restaurant and jazz club were made via Resy and that I should book them myself. There was no priority for guests and no concierge service to help. I never saw a concierge in the lobby during my 3 day stay. We had a great time at the jazz club and the host was wonderful. We coordinated the experience on our own with no help from the hotel. Noise-We were a little worried about the noise in this hotel as the rooms open to the bar area. Our room was on a high floor it was not that bad and the music shut down around 10:30 pm. They have installed a white noise devise that sounds like a broken air conditioner which was worse than the actual noise. There is some city noise as rooms are facing busy streets but that did not bother us. What did disturb us were the guests next us. You could hear the other guests late at night. Definitely a party hotel. Amenities- The web site states Wi-Fi is free which is great. There is a 34.95 dollar a night room charge. Not sure this is justified. We had no champagne greeting, were not able to enjoy the bar due to a private event, no bathrobes, and no priority at any of the restaurants or clubs. When I completed the guest survey the response I got was if I wanted a bathrobe I should ask for one. Booking- I booked this hotel directly via the hotel website. That was a mistake. After the first night we looked to change hotels. The hotel had rates much cheaper than we were paying on most all of the third party websites. We decided to stick it out and not hassle with a hotel move so

The facilities are very clean and the staff are friendly. Only bread, coffee, and juice are served for breakfast. The first floor is noisy due to the guests checking in, and the soundproofing facilities are a bit lacking. It is satisfactory for the price.

Perhaps because of the epidemic, there have been a lot fewer tourists, but the front desk's enthusiastic service to tourists is not reduced. The location is moderate.

The bed was very comfortable, the booking was a wonderful room, a big bed, and the front desk was kind enough to ask if you would have an extra bed. There is a supermarket next to it, you can buy something very late. I received 100 dollars of dollars and returned to it in three days.
