|1.99km from city centerI was very pleased with the 2 Queen Deluxe beds. The room was very nice and clean. I would definitely recommend staying here. Book non smoking and if you smoke. Smoke in your car or outside. There is a $25.00 per pet fee for pets which is nonrefundable and that's understandable and reasonable.
Breakfast is the usual waffles, cereal, etc. At least it's something. If you prefer a grand slam, take yourself to Dennys and buy it.
If you purchase the deluxe room you have a coffee pot ( the one in my room was missing a tube so it didn't work), the fridge and microwave worked great and I reported the coffee pot. Guests should always report issues. If you do not report issues then they will not be corrected so instead of writing a nasty review. Report the issue. Give the hotel a chance to correct the problem.

|1.02km from city centerFirst off, the Marriott website describing this hotel as ”Newly Renovated,” which was why I booked here, but this is not true. The rooms are terribly outdated - worn and dirty carpet, the bed was super saggy and uncomfortable, and the TV was really small and looked like old tech. Bathroom was also sub-standard - I found a pubic hair in the wash cloth - gross! They only offer valet ($30). I got in at midnight, left my rental with the valet and came back at 6am to get my car - I was on my way to my daughter's BMT Graduation ceremony at Lackland. When I got into my car, it wreaked with marijana smoke, like someone was having a grand ol time on the midnight shift. I was appalled and extremely worried as I was about to go onto a military base! Who knows what paraphanilia was dropped in there. I also was concerned because after a couple of days, the smell was still present and I am not supposed to smoke in the rental! I brought it to the attention of the valet manager but his response was really lame - he gave me an ”oops” face. I was expecting something with a little more professionalism. No one checked in with me the rest of my stay to apologize or anything. I had to make a deal about it when I checked out - hence this review. The rest of the nights I opted to park my car in a lot next to the Fire Museum across the street ($25). Location wise this hotel is on the outskirts of Downtown. You'll need to walk about 10 min to get to the start of River Walk. I really wish I did not stay here. The crappy room and the marijuana incident (and the hotels lack of concern) - it really dampened my stay in San Antonio and on the occasion. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone!

However, the property is large enough not to feel crowded. The elevators are very fast. The facilities are clean and well kept. Free happy hour with snacks from 4 to 6 every evening. The rooms were quite. Really enjoyed our stay. Check in staff were friendly and efficient. Very welcoming

Having excellent customer service in the restaurant of the Westin has made our life so much easier. Madi has provided one of the best experiences we’ve ever had at any hotel/restaurant. We plan on returning in the coming years and we hope that Madi is still here providing the excellent customer service we have experienced for the last week of our stay. I’ve also included a photo of how happy our son as been to interact with her!

|14.52km from city centerWe stayed here because we are renovating my house in the area. We had gutted the only bathroom so we stayed at this hotel. When we made a trip to home depot to pick up some things around 4 pm, we decided to stop and check in to get the keys so we would have them later as we got 2 different rooms and would be going back to the hotel at different times. We never went in or checked the rooms after getting the keys, my mistake. When I arrived back at the hotel it was midnight, I gathered all my things (I had a handful) I proceeded to go to my room. When I walked in, it hadn't been cleaned from the previous guests! The king size bed was a mess, towels on the floor, etc. So I went to the front desk and told the clerk in which he didn't seem to really care. He said they had no other rooms with a king size bed in which I had booked, instead I got a room with two doubles in which was mediocre in cleanliness. The air vents were filthy and had never been dusted, hair stuck to the wall above the shower, food or stains on the wall, etc. Just really gross! I took it because I was tired, we had been working and painting etc. all day and I just wanted to shower and go to sleep. The next morning upon checkout I told the clerk who had checked us in the day before about the incident. She apologized said they just assume that their housekeepers are doing their jobs. But then did nothing for us, but offer to do something next time if I see her. What kind of response is that, there WONT be a next time at this facility. No discount on the room, no added points, etc. for my inconvenience for their failure to do their jobs. I am a Elite Platinum rewards member and use Choice hotels regularly. I am very disappointed. This was not up to their standards and the service and attitude of it's employees sucked to say the least.

|1.38km from city centerThere was nothing great or wrong about the hotel room. I arrived at night and wouldn’t recommend walking around that area alone in the dark . The listing states a $50 security deposit but I was charged a $100 deposit and trip.com customer service agent contacted the hotel on my behalf. I left at 11am and prior to leaving there was 2 separate knocks at the door to serve as reminders check out was at 11am.
On the Charming side. Around at 11pm I decided to grab my self an ice bucket which was located on the first floor, after I got my ice bucket and headed towards my room a young mother sat on the stairs smoking a cigarette with her two lil girls. And as I passed I said to the girls “excuse me young ladys” as I got passed them, the young mother apologized and told her there was no need for an apology , smiled and continued on my way . I could hear one of the girls ask her mother why I referred to her as a young lady, the mother replied with because one day your grow up to be a beautiful lady. The lil girls laughed and laughed, which brought forth dad. Asking his family what was all the noise outside about? The girls said with excitement that their mother had said they would grow up to be beautiful … and don’t know what else was said because by that time I entered my room. But the sound of the two “young ladies” laughing and laughing, did make me feel better.
When I woke, the day light revealed an industrial area of San Antonio TX I had never seen before.
I would stay there again.

That would've been a better chioce. Nescafe coffee and it was gross. Pool was good. Location is good for most places to go in San Antonio. Difficult to get in and out of at certain times of the day. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again. Just needs to be updated badly. Mattresses are not comfortable and had a hard time sleeping. We stayed for 3 days. No sleep and no coffee. It's personal to me to have a comfortable bed and coffee. Especially when I'm paying for those things.

|0.59km from city centerAt check-in Israel the bellman was the only saving grace from this weekend stay. A four or 5 bubble rating is not just about the room or the view. In this case both were great. It is also about the service and amenities. I requested a bathrobe for my husband and myself. Unfortunately, only one of the two had a belt. I requested that our car be brought to the front as advised 20 minutes ahead of when we needed it. We even spoke directly with the valet and explained that we were going to get breakfast and would easily be back in 20 minutes. Well, 20 minutes later when we returned, there was no car. So, we waited about 15 more minutes just to get the car. We wanted to order room service for lunch but there is no room service between 11am and 5pm. Forget about maid service. I made 3 unanswered calls to the desk on our room phone and finally called the hotel from my iPhone on the main number. When we got back about 11am, the room had not been done. Oh, by the way, you have to request that room service be provided each day which I had done at check in. I was told that there was no guarantee that room service would be provided when we were out of the room after 5 PM that evening. I was also given the wrong excuse: “We’ve been very busy” with no “I’m sorry and I’ll get it corrected as soon as possible.” My husband found a maid in the hallway and asked her to clean the room…which she did right then. Getting help with our luggage on check-out was also a comedy of resourcefulness. We personally asked a bellman when we entered the hotel to help us. He said that he would be right up with the cart. So, 15 minutes later, I went out into the hallway and spotted a bellman in the hallway about 3 doors down. He said that his understanding was that the bellman had called the room (??) and that no one had answered (??) so he decided not to come up with the cart (!) and had cancelled our request(!). Incredible. So, at this point, the other people were not ready, so the bellman asked if he could come back after he helped my husband and me down. They were nice enough to agree to that arrangement. The hotel failed miserably for us on this stay.

On our travels around the country, we look for Home 2 properties when we want something practical - they have all the extra appliances (refrigerator, dishwasher, separate sink, couch, desk, etc). This one particularly is nice and clean. Our room (801) has a nice balcony overlooking the pool, River, and beautiful courthouse). Easy access to the Riverwalk and attractions. Breakfast offerings were chain - typical (we did not eat there after checking it out). And, at night there were numerous homeless, although none caused any problem). Staff was friendly and courteous.

|0.47km from city centerThe Inn on the Riverwalk is situated in a lovely and convenient spot on a dead end street with an access to the Riverwalk right outside. It is only about a 10 minute walk to the busy tourist area. The inn itself is over 100 years old, and could use some maintenance, but it was clean, has great character, and all the amenities you'd need. We stayed in the Yellow Rose penthouse, which was up 3 flights of stairs, but had ample space, a king bed, a modern bathroom with a jacuzzi tub, amazing water pressure, good quality soft bath towels and Bee Kind soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. It had 2 separate, private decks with chairs that overlook the riverwalk. There was a TV, a mini fridge, an iron and board, and a hair dryer. The only complaint was minor, and it was just that they need to use maybe a deeper pocket sheet, because the sheet slipped off the mattress all night. Oh, and an ice machine would have been useful to me, but we made do. The breakfast was a set menu, made to order, and served from 8:30 to 9:30. The food was simple, tasty, and just the right amount. One day we had pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon, and another day we had breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs and sausage with a lovely soft multigrain toast. Cholula hot sauce sat on every table (yum!) There was very strong coffee, orange and apple juice and tea and water available as well. There was a tip jar for the young lady cooking. The front desk is staffed only until 3, but they email and text you in the week preceding your stay with instructions on how to get in, and they are responsive when you text that number with questions or concerns. We would definitely stay here again. It's clean, it's charming, it's got a great location.

|15.83km from city center.We arrived at 3:45 pm, but were told there weren’t rooms available until 4:00 and couldn’t start the check in process. So, we sat at the near lounge, waiting patiently, but soon a family arrives, ask for their room and get it right away, with another agent. Ee recieved 2 bottles of water as an appology, but notan upgeade, even though my husband is Spire level frequent guest. The facilities are very simple, business type lobby. We got no upgrade, even though my husband is Spire level. The room has a nice king size bed. Keurig coffee maker, a sink and a microwave oven.

The WiFi is strong and stable and the desk allows for maximum productivity. I had a late flight and checked in after hours and Blanca took the time to greet me warmly and acknowledge me as an Elite member. Of course, I found this out once I returned to my room after being out all day and the room was exactly as I had left it. I called down to the front desk to see if housekeeping was still coming and at that point I was informed that they only service the room after we check out but that we were more than welcome to come to the front desk for fresh towels. I was surprised by this because Covid is over and I wish I had been told this when I was checking in. Other than the lack of housekeeping the room was fine and the lobby was lovely. It was nice that there was an opportunity to purchase breakfast in the lobby but when I ordered the avocado toast I was informed that they were out of avocados. Not a big deal but just another check in the negative column.

I travel 290 days out of the year and since day one the General Manager Christian welcomed me with open arms alongside his staff. Christian is very attentive and proactive when something comes up. His staff is highly trained, but the hotel is clean, and they have a beautiful courtyard with a pool, cornhole games, and a place to sit around the fire. If you’re looking to visit San Antonio, Residence Inn at The Rim is the way to go 👍🏼 Also, Six Flags Fiesta and Sea World are down the street 😉

|10.84km from city centerI am giving just 3* instead of 5* because of our problem checking in. We have stayed at many Holiday Inns & never had a problem finding our room. However this Hotel is an exception. Upon check-in we were told our room was # 315. The clerk said to get there drive your car to level C & then take the elevator to level 3. O.K. We park at level C, get our bags & proceed along a walkway to an outside door that goes into the hotel. As we approach the door it is opened by someone going out so we do not need to use our room scan card to open it. We find the room which was on the same level & try to open the door. Nothing worked. We call the front desk & the clerk says that she will bring us another card. We wait & wait & wait. Call the desk again. The clerk says where are you?. We say outside of #315. You were not there says the clerk. What ! Are we invisible? Anyway after much talk we & the clerk finally realize that we are in the WRONG Hotel. Yes,, the Drury Hotel shares the same parking garage & we are in the Drury.. We exit the Drury into the same parking garage & see another door around the corner. This one does lead to the Holiday Inn. After 30 min we are in our room. What a bunch of crap. On it's good side, we did have a full Hot Breakfast. Nice but small pool.

The service was super enthusiastic the day before yesterday. The riverside trail is only two minutes away from the hotel, which is convenient for morning walks and riverside dining. The price is reasonable in this area. It is worth staying.
