Breakfast is very simple, parking is free, and eating around is more convenient! The hotel's internal facilities are relatively aging, and the sanitation is not clean enough. There are many black people and the service needs to be improved!

In the northwest of Richmond, there are many motels nearby, and many of Roddvi have lived. This is a medium-lower level. Breakfast is average, and the residence is not in a row of houses, it takes 20l to go.

If it weren't for this nice man, JOHN (a fellow guest), I would have turned around and checked out. He explained that the Knights Inn was a very hospitable place with clean rooms and great staff. He went on to explain the difference between a regular room that is located in Building 1, and the kitchenettes that are in Building 3. We chose the kitchenettes as it was just a few dollars more. Despite the fact that JOHN was a long-time guest at the Knights Inn, he has the aura of a business owner with a great sales ability. Thumbs up for JOHN and the Knights Inn,

Passing by for one night, the little girl at the front desk was very sweet. Hot water, coffee ice water, apples are always available at the front desk. The room was quite comfortable. Breakfast is generally full. There are restaurants nearby, Fridays and Olive Garden. It seems that it is not safe near the night, and there are three police cars parked.

After rushing for one night, it is difficult to give a sufficient and reasonable evaluation. The location of the hotel is in the city, there are still a lot of places to eat around, there are not many places to visit. The hotel itself is ok.

Marriott has been my husband and my go to brand for decades, and he has the points to prove it. We have noticed, as everyone has, that the special treatment of the club members kept slipping down to having almost no amenities and the personal attention was becoming nil. This was not the case in this gorgeously decorated well appointed room. This is the other side of the Marriott Courtyard, and at first I got complaints from my better half at why we were staying at the Inn and not the courtyard. When we went in the room, the word, "wow" escaped his lips. A fully equipped suite that allowed us to stretch out and relax after twelve grueling hours on the road. We traveled the week before the quarantine orders were issued for our state and were exhausted, fighting the tons of returning northerner and totally stressed by just trying to get home. The front desk saw this right away and offered us their total attention as well as checking with us to make sure that we had everything we needed. The breakfast was phenomenal, fresh eggs, bacon and excellent choices for cereals and yogurts. We absolutley loved our time here and were fortified enough to plunge ahead and finish our drive. What a respite this hotel was and we are so grateful to the staff for their attention and care during a very tough time in everyone's life.

Stayed a couple of nights while scouting out Richmond as a new home to relocate. Always travel with my chihuahua. Everything we both could possibly need for food and supplies literally within a half mile radius. It's right next to a freeway and you never hear it in the room. They have really quiet heater/AC units. From the perspective of the entire Richmond metro, this property is exactly in the center which besides being pet friendly, is the reason I chose it.

I understand that different people have different standards but this place is disgusting. The whole hotel does not seem to have had any updates since 1989. The front staff desk were rude. The lobby smelled bad - a mix between a gross basement and a smoking room that has not been aired out for a several years. The hotel is falling apart and the safety panel was taped in but not well. The room key did not work and we had to go back to the front desk. The room is very outdated and dirty. There was makeup and hair on the door, toothpaste (I hope it was tooth paste 🤞🏽) splatter on the mirror, dust everywhere ( the phones, the light fixtures every crevice) some areas of mold in the corners. There was a laminated card on the bed about how they clean less to conserve water and energy and the card was STICKY - somewhat ironic so at least they have a good since of humor... also ironic is the styrofoam cups; I MEAN, if you want to be environmental friendly let’s start there instead of not cleaning the room . It generally smells bad which is unfortunate. very very dissatisfied. I have stayed at a nicer motel 8... also motel 8 has better parking options than “park on the street and move every 2 hours”. I know I expect nice things but also I would be okay if this was also 44$ like a motel 8 however it is 4x that price

The feel of the property is welcoming from the time one enters the lot. Nestled away from the busy Midlothian Turnpike traffic, one would hardly believe there’s a bustling metropolis beyond the trees! The staff was attentive and the attentions to COVID-19 guidelines was so on point. The room was meticulously cleaned. The noon check out was a godsend. I will be back!

The staff here are amazing...they treated us like family from the moment we checked in. Shannon and Robert were superb, they quickly responded to all of our requests. Each time we made a request, we received a follow up call to ensure we were taken care of. Annette, the housekeeping supervisor, came to our room to confirm our service request was addressed (the bulb in the bathroom needed to be replaced). But honestly I have to say their most valuable employees work the breakfast and happy hour activities. They do all of the cooking themselves!!!Miss Sherrie and Miss Berry introduced themselves to all of the guests, and treated EVERYONE like family. The two women in charge of the evening happy hour were also outstanding. I wish I'd gotten their names. Miss Sherrie's daughter also provided great service, and so did Tyler. The rooms are nice, but it's the service that will bring me back.

Stayed one night at Linden Row Inn. Very friendly hotel staff in a hotel with lots of charm. Just a few blocks from VCU campus and walkable to restaurants. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is an older hotel with creaky stairs, actual keys for the rooms and signs of wear. The room thermostat was an old fashioned one with a sliding lever. I had to play with it a bit to get the room temperature right and as it was tucked behind an armoire, I couldn’t make out the temperature indicators. The mattress was a bit soft for my taste but the room itself was clean, lots of character (fireplace, Edgar Allen Poe book, interesting art work), heat worked well and solid wi-fi. Flat screen tv mounted on the wall with standard hotel channels. The pillows and comforter were great. There really isn’t any reliable overnight street parking so you’ll likely have to valet. They ask for a 30-45 minute heads up to retrieve your car in the morning so plan accordingly. While my room was fine, I did notice that some of the room doors had large gaps between the bottom of the door and the floor. Made me wonder about climate control and noise in those rooms. I wouldn’t sleep here again simply because of the mattress. If you’re ok with softer mattresses, it would be a nice change of pace from the standard chain hotels. My younger self that could sleep on anything would rank this as a 5/5. But my older self that wants a firmer bed rates this as a 4/5. Still, I suppose it’s just a matter of preference so let’s call it a 5/5.

I stayed here for three nights from 09-12FEB2020 and understand that the hotel is undergoing a major renovation. So I'll hold back on negative comments until it's back up and running at 100%. The staff were all pleasant and professional, especially the breakfast staff who were making due serving in a banquet hall, but still doing a really good job. I also appreciated the larger-than-average gym that had some good weights for a decent workout. We stayed in a newly-renovated room on the 17th floor. The furnishings were nice and comfortable. The TV and WiFi worked fine. Water was hot. Bathroom was well-appointed. My only complaint is that one night stand had four electric plugs and USB plugs while the other night stand on the opposite side of the bed had none. That seems to have been a mistake on the contractor's part and should be corrected. I can't comment on much other than the room, gym, and breakfast since much of the rest of the hotel is under construction or I didn't see it. Oh, also, as a Bonvoy Ambassador Elite I was disappointed that there was no compensation for the executive lounge being shut down. The only reason I chose this property over similarly-priced Marriotts was for the lounge but it was closed and there was no credit or other replacement for the lack of lounge. Looking forward to returning post-construction.

We have stayed at this location twice in 2019. We booked it because of the great reviews and price and we were not dissapointed. I am usually not one to write my own reviews unless the experience blows me away - and that is exactly how I would describe our stay here last weekend. In addition to the clean, spacious rooms, the hotel staff go above and beyond. We are from Boston and we checked out in a rush to catch our flight and I left my iPhone in the room tucked under the bed sheets. I have left electronics in hotels several times before and rarely do I ever get the electronics back - and when I did, it was not an easy process. In this situation, the management actually called ME before I even realized I had left my phone! Since I was already at the airport, they offered to send it to my home in Boston. My phone arrived a few days later packaged thoughtfully and good as new. We travel to Richmond every few months and from now on we will always choose Candlewood on Dickens Rd. Thank you to the housekeeper who found my phone and to the management who made the process of returning it to me so simple.

Exceptional. Convenient. Amazingly attentive and caring staff. I stay here during the General Assembly Session, and it is the only hotel where I will consider staying. I have plenty of office space and living space that is separate from my resting space, and it has very much an apartment-like feel while having the benefits of being a hotel. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else where the staff is friendlier and more helpful, PLUS I am about 25 steps away each morning from where I need to be during Session. Super convenient. BEST HOTEL EVER!

Easy central location with comfortable accommodations. Simple reception area. The bar seemed busy each breakfast and evening. Front desk staff upon check-in was great ... super friendly, professional and efficient; however, check-out left plenty to be desired. Leave extra time if you have any questions or would like a print-our. It seems that the front desk staff is largely new. Valet is excellent. $25/26 per day. The valet staff is friendly, responsive and respectful. A woman wearing jeans low with boxers/pants showing and a dark shirt (i.e. not a uniform or professional look) knocked on my room door with a walk-in talkie and empty garbage bag came to ‘clean’ my room; I opted for the $5 daily rebate and put my room on a do not clean list. I recommend taking advantage of the option.

Hotel service and breakfast must be given 5 stars, breakfast is richer than imagined...! The hotel is apartment-style, with a large refrigerator and kitchen utensils. The stove is suitable for short-term rentals, and Walmart can be purchased nearby! The only fly in the ointment is that the air conditioning noise is too big, especially when it is automatically started, it is really big to sleep at night, so it must be turned off.

Not bad, breakfast is relatively simple. But the shuttle service is very good, give them a place to send you in the past, you can also arrange to pick you up. The room was very nice and quiet. Surrounding in the city center, it is very convenient to go there. There are not many restaurants nearby, so you have to choose a little more.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights using a hotel reservation. The friendly masked receptionist checked my identity and payment before issuing our key cards. We took their working elevator to the 6th floor. Room #611 opened to a refer/micro/Keurig station and closet next to a fully outfitted bathroom with passive exhaust and stall shower, then a comfortable king across a dresser/desk with large 70 channel TV and couch. Covid signs were posted with staff and most clients complaint. The 6 AM lobby breakfast was serviced for hot cheese or vegetable omelet and sausage, with choices of yogurt, muffin, apple, banana and coffee, all to take back to the room. We had good secure WiFi, quiet window heat/AC, 8 station gym (I used), guest laundry, then large Kroger to the southwest, a nice stay at this 144 room hotel paying $106 per night.

Stayed one night in this central motel after the place we booked was full (was actually a good news as it’s seamed pretty bad). Our room was clean and with a fresh smell. There are local people who live in this place but I never felt uncomfortable or saw any illegal business going on. As new management took over I think they are doing their best to improve the condition of this place. Was only one night but If needed I would stay again.

We chose this hotel because of the pet policy, and because the parking lot was big enough to maneuver a Uhaul truck towing a car via tow dolly. We had planned to go to the Motel 6 Petersburg/Ft Lee that night but did not stay there, because the neighborhood was so creepy. This one looked a little less scary. Mistake. One of the two rooms we rented smelled like smoke. The whole hotel is supposed to be smoke-free, but many of the patrons smoke. The cigarette disposal receptacles are all under the eaves, around the stairways, etc. so even if they are not smoking in the rooms you will smell it and walk through it. One of the beds had sheets with red stains on it. We're not sure if it was blood or lipstick. Another red stain was on the wall beside the bed, and another stain of other color. The bathroom floor was water damaged in both rooms. The fake wood strips had soaked up water, wrinkled, and detached from one another. There were items on the floor including a sock, bottle cap, dental floss, and cardboard trash. The walkways outside the rooms had broken glass, nails, screws and other hardware and trash all over. The trash from a recent renovation (chairs, cabinets, mirrors) were piled in heaps all around the building and on the walkways. Late at night you check in at a security window (the day check-in lobby is closed). The young girl who checked me in took a very long time to do so, although I was the only customer. She disappeared for long periods of time with my credit card and drivers license even though I had paid already (gave my cc# over the phone 15 min prior). The next morning there was again only one person there. Like the girl from the previous night, this girl appeared to be about 18 years old. There was no indication that the hotel was actually managed. Most of the patrons seemed legit but others loitered about in suspicious manner. In the morning I discovered a radiant heater bar across the front wall pumping out full heat. I then found a thermostat on the wall, but the dial spun around and you couldn't tell if it was on or off. That's why it was so hot in the morning despite the air conditioning being on. To sum up, this was the worst hotel by far during our 9-day trip across the country. We stayed in other Red Roof Inns which were quite good, but this one was not even close to standard. Having said that, the good points are: Pet policy (free). Can maneuver a truck with trailer (drive all the way around). Mattress was comfortable. Not too much noise at night despite being near the highway.

Stopped here on my way from Florida to Philadelphia for one night. Based on my previous experience with the brand I didn't expect any problems...and didn't read reviews before booking. My first mistake. My second mistake was in not checking the room thoroughly before unloading my frozen food. Had I done so I would have requested a different room although I'm not sure that would have been any better. First... exterior paint is peeling in many areas-not a good look. Next...carpet outside elevator on the second floor is dirty and torn. Then, the room: alarm clock not plugged in ( outlet is behind bed so is impossible to use). I don't need the clock, but still... There were short black hairs on the counter in the bathroom; no hand soap in bathroom or kitchen, no soap dish. No DVD player although hotel website lists that as in the room. Drapes are stained. Water stain on ceiling. Paper drink coaster is dirty. Notepad has apparently been used as a coaster: pages look as though they had been wet at one time. Inner rim of kitchen drain is dirty. Two forks, two spoons, but only one knife. Mattress is saggy. All in all, this place is a disgrace to the Candlewood Suites brand. But-more fool me for not reading reviews before booking and not checking the room carefully before unpacking. Fortunately I'm only here for one night! Never again.
