We stayed here and had high hopes since the pictures look good. Pros: you can walk to and from Downtown Gatlinburg which is a huge plus because traffic is awful for such a small town. Also parking in Gatlinburg is not free unless you park away from the city. The river behind the place is nice. You can hear it and it’s a nice sound to fall asleep too. They also have a nice fire pit outside and a grill area. Parking was free. They have breakfast there which is a win bc the breakfast places are so swamped. It’s just built into the cost of your room. We decided to opt out of that one. Cons: lighting is pretty dark when you enter the room. The door to get in, you can see slivers through the outside/inside. The bathroom: needs a paint job. Chipped paint everywhere. The ceiling you can tell there was a bit of water damage (we stayed on first floor). The towels were tough feeling. They were the ones you use at the pool.. you know white with a blue or green stripe. The towels also had curly light brown hair in them. Three out of the five towels I picked up I examined had hair. Each day they brought new towels but still had stuff in them. They also did not quite clean because there was stuff on the toilet seat rim in addition to crumbs on the carpet near the bed when we first arrived. And even the next day, the crumbs were still there. There was also leftover food in the fridge when we checked in. The beds were comfy but the sheets and blankets had stains on them. The ceiling definitely needs work as it’s starting to crack and there’s also water damage. WiFi was also poor. According to my laptop, it was also not secure to connect to it. Didn’t know my computer was capable of telling me such thing since I’ve logged into many public WiFi’s before. Considering COVID, the rooms should have been exceptionally cleaned. But they were not. Which is why this review is happening. Let’s put some effort cleaning the most obvious thing... the fridge. I see replies from the owner to several posts about they’re updating. I can tell you they’re not. Landscaping yes, renovating no. I would recommend spending more money and going elsewhere. We left early and checked into a new hotel.

We stayed at a sister hotel to Howard Johnson's. It is the Travelodge that sits adjacent to the Howard Johnson's and is owned by the same company and managed by the same manager, Umi, and the same supervisor, Geoff. Regarding our 12-28 to 12-30 stay at your Gatlinburg Howard Johnson's sister hotel - room 109. We had several issues that were brought to the attention of Sharon and other office staff of both offices. None of these issues were ever corrected. 1. Your website stated that there is a coffee maker in each room. There was no coffee maker. Your website was changed after I asked for a coffee maker. Now, the website does not say there is a coffee maker. 2. The bathroom window sill has apparently not been cleaned in several weeks or months. See the photos. This was not cleaned even after Sharon told the housekeeping staff. 3. Only one washcloth was in the room after our first night. 4. There was no drain stopper. We lost a toothpaste cap down the drain. 5. There were no coat hangers. These were never brought to the room after we asked. 6. The front door sometimes jams and will not open from the inside. This is a clear fire hazard. 7. The sign on the office door says the office opens at 7:00 a.m. No one was in the office until 8:30 on Sunday. I wrote down most of these items for Sharon on Sunday. She copied them into a notebook. We were told there would be an adjustment to our bill, but this has not happened and there has yet to be a response to our emailed inquiry. ***** One additional thing I didn’t mention is that there was no phone in our room. I don’t know whether any of the rooms have phones or if it was just this one room - room 109. I imagine that it is Wyndham policy to have a phone in each room. My daughter looked at Tennessee law and saw a requirement for access to a phone. In this case, the only phone during the hours the Travelodge office is closed would be by walking over to the Howard Johnson’s office, assuming it is open.

We just love the Laurel inn we stay at this property on almost every visit to Gatlinburg. The location is great and is walking distance to most anything but still far enough away to be quiet and relaxing. This time we stayed in a 2 bedroom unit it was spacious and clean we have nothing negative to say about this property.

I loved this motel. It was immaculately clean. The price was extremely reasonable. The owners were on site and constantly out working cleaning the grounds and parking lot. The pool was clean and fresh towels were provided poolside. Our room was on the end and we could open the windows and hear the creek outside and it was so peaceful and relaxing. Convenient location a few short block's walk away from the shopping strip, and restaurants. We even had to look at the tag on the sheets because they were so comfortable! I've already ordered a pair.

We had a quick trip planned for a cheer competition this weekend so we found this gem and booked it. They were so hospitable! The entire staff made us feel more like family than guests. Melvin, in the cafe, was so funny and warming to my family and girls. Though we were only there for under 48 hours he made an impact on me. We plan to go back this summer!!

The place was really nice and the rooms have recently been renovated. It is withing walking distance to everything in Gatlinburg. The only issues I had were the lights outside the room are so bright they light up the room even when the curtains are closed. The other issue I noticed was there was a gap all around the door letting in light and air. If it had been really cold this may have been a problem. I would definitely stay here again.
