I can not put into words how wonderful our stay was atthe Palazzo Niccolini. Sure, the accommodations are fantastic, but what makes this place so special is the staff. Everybody there went above and beyond for my family even after our stay ended. My mom unfortunately caught Covid while in Italy. My mom ended up in the hospital in Florence for two weeks. Even though my brother and I had to find different accommodations, because the palazzo is so popular, the staff still assisted us with communication with the hospital, storing our extra bags and allowed me to ship a wheel chair to the hotel I purchased on Amazon. When my mom had to be picked up at the hospital, which was 30 km outside the city of Florence, they even arranged a private car at the last minute for us. This was truly amazing because getting a private car last minute during high tourist season is impossible! Words cannot express our gratitude towards everyone there!

I personally like it better, facing the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, and going out is the queue 😄. Within 1 km of the surrounding area, there are many attractions, many restaurants, and many shops. If you are tired, go back to the hotel and rest before you come out to continue. Very convenient! The hotel service is very good, the front desk is small, but you must answer any questions, there are people on duty 24 hours, everything will be resolved immediately. There is also a 24-hour beverage bar, coffee and tea sparkling water, cookies, and sweet wine before going to bed. You can pick it up at any time. The funniest thing is to wear it in pajamas. Although the facilities and equipment are flawed, they are pretty good. They have everything and there is an elevator, but up to three people, the room is small, the bed is good enough to sleep comfortably, but the luggage cannot be spread out. The bathroom is also small, so you have to be slower and slower when you take a bath. The breakfast is ok, just a normal Italian hotel breakfast, not very rich but it has everything. There are not many rooms, it should be 16-20 rooms, so when booking a room, it is recommended to book the best room, the view is very good, the window opens to the cathedral, and the room with a terrace is on the other side.

We will not return to this hotel even when it’s only steps away from the Duomo. If proximity is more important than feeling at ease… then this place would be ok. Manager is crude, rude and obnoxious. From the moment we came in, with our glow about being in amazing Florence, he made unpleasant remarks such as: “Why should I allow you to pay the hotel tax with a credit card? You must pay that in cash… I will not give my money away to the government”. When we asked if he could tell us how to turn on the A/C, he said that because of an “environmental law” air conditioners were not allowed to be turned on until June (we stayed in May and it was hot). We texted Booking.com to see if they could help us, because the reservation description said that A/C was provided. Customer care immediately communicated with the property (thank you Booking.com) and when we came into the lobby the manager confronted me (up close in a threatening way) and said “why are you complaining with Booking.com? Didn’t you tell them that I upgraded your room?” I answered “sir, the room you gave us has an extra single bed that I don’t need. Yet I paid for an air conditioned room which your are not allowing us to turn on. I did not complain to Booking.com, I messaged them to help me get air conditioning”. Well, it worked and he turned on the A/C. But we felt so uncomfortable at this hotel that we even packed one day early wishing it was our checkout day. Only good thing about this location is the cafe adjacent to it. It has friendly staff with superb coffee and croissants!

Not ordering the hotel's breakfast seems to be very simple. It is a very spacious apartment, this is the best hotel in Italy, it is a suite, there is a kitchen, the supermarket is very convenient downstairs.
I appreciate the quiet of the area and the kind staff. I didn't know what to expect from this hotel but I am positively surprised by every service that it provides. The center of Florence is far 15 minutes from the hotel (by foot) and the building is clean and new. 100% recommended.
The room is very big and clean, shopping and shopping is very convenient, the only thing is that the location of the hotel is not easy to find no obvious signs, you should carefully look at the picture and then take the elevator to the 4th floor, if it is after 19:00, it will be more trouble, because downstairs The door must be accessed with the door card. You can't find the hotel location from the outside. The breakfast is relatively simple after 8:00, because the staff has not yet gone to work when the train leaves in the morning. Put it on the table!
We wanted to love this place so much, but in the end too many issues unfortunately ruined our stay. The main two issues were 1) our room location and 2) the property’s response to other guests. In our view, Room 1 should absolutely be avoided at all costs unless you are a deep sleeper. It is situated directly next to the front door and faces the busy street at ground level. We live in Chicago and are used to city sounds — this room though is worse. The sounds of traffic and guests coming in and out make it challenging to truly feel relaxed. A horribly annoying lose manhole cover makes a “thud” that shook the room every time a car drives by — not great to hear repeatedly at 2am. The positive is that the room is furnished beautifully and was very clean. The separate main issue involved other guests virtually taking over the property’s very limited public areas. At both breakfast and in the evening, an extended family with babies and small children camped out in the main room and garden area. In the evening they treated it similarly to how families would approach a shared vacation house or Airbnb by gathering and playing cards in the living room. While on its face this doesn’t seem like a big issue and while the family was very polite overall, most people coming to Florence likely aren’t seeking to “third wheel” it with babies and toddlers crying throughout breakfast, a loud baby monitor placed outside your room in the evening, and shouting for luggage during checkout. It ruined any sort of image portrayed in the property’s photos of contemplation by the mantle or a quiet morning in the garden. Other very small issues include that the entry code did not work for our room key (so had we arrived outside the limited staffed hours we’d have been out of luck) and that the same code did not work as intended for the garden (which would have left me locked outside had my wife not checked). When asked about how we enjoyed our stay by Julia, I mentioned the room and the issues with the family, literally with them having just taken over the main room a few minutes prior. She apologized and handed me the bill. I’d have appreciated at least some small gesture beyond an apology. On the positive sides, the place is quiet charming to look at, the location is fantastic (best gelato in Florence just at the end of the street) and the breakfast was tasty. Would we give it another try? Probably yes, only if we could guarantee a garden facing room.
We reached the hotel and the stuff person who met us was answering to our questions strangely. The first room they planed to provide in the 3rd floor us was tooo small, and there was a lizard in the corridor. I was very afraid about it and asked them at least to take it away but they said there’s nothing to worry, and we want we can catch it or kill it, up to us 😫 . Then we asked another larger room, they provided one in the ground floor. That one was bigger enough at least to have space to put our things easily. But the room was overall in dust, and we disgusted to touch anything and even lie in those bed sheets. There were dead mosquito traces on walls. The breakfast was okay, average.
The hotel is located in a very central location, just 5 minutes walk from the Duomo. It is located at the first floor of an ancient palace with lift. The only note that I signal is the land shower waste, which is circumscribed by a mobile box, which causes a little water outlet to the outside. Breakfast is basic both sweet and salty, but yet enough. I advise you if you think you will spend a few days in the beautiful Florence!
From start to finish, it was a wonderful stay. All the hotel’s front desk staff, Mateo and David and the wonderful lady there, were all very accommodating and helpful. The went out of their way for every need. We are a family of six and we have a lot of needs. The rooms were updated and very clean. Bathrooms fully stocked. Refrigerators fully stocked. Beds were comfortable. The rooms were prepared every day. Daily breakfast was the perfect amount of choices to help start our day. The breakfast staff were also very accommodating helping me prepare food to take to some of my sleepy kids who could make the 3.5 hour window that breakfast was offered every morning. The location was pretty good, right in the river. It was a 15 minute walk to any spot north or south of the river. Definitely a good choice to stay for our next trip!!
Self-driving to Florence, the car can not drive into the old town, I chose this hotel, free parking, but relatively remote! The hotel is a 10-minute bus ride to the old town, the room is clean and big enough, quiet, and the waiters are so polite , Explain how to enter the old city so clearly, you can buy a round-trip bus ticket at the front desk, and I will stay again next time!
We stayed two nights in this hotel ... No negative report to do ... Central location.. very clean room .. silent ... . With friendlyness and gentleness at the reception.. We found this hotel almost by chance ... The weekend was the one of the Florence Carnival so many facilities were complete.. Fortunately we held the last room left ... Experience more than positive. Excellent quality price..
We love this place and have stayed here three times. The best feature is the location, location, location. It is right on Florence’s main square, right next to the the Duomo. From your room you overlook the square, the cathedral and baptistry. The large apartments are perfect for couples sharing or a family. We have stayed in both the 2 and the 3 bedroom apartments – it’s so good to find a 3 bedroom apartment for a family. LOCATION & VIEW: You can’t get better than this. The first time I saw these apartments, I couldn't believe that we were overlooking the Duomo and Brunelleschi’s magnificent red dome from our room. It really was as beautiful as it sounds and I could hardly move myself away from the windows. I must have taken 100 photos. It was even better in the evening, when the lighting on the cathedral made it look so dramatic and beautiful. Just about everything is only 2 – 5 minutes walk away - the Uffizi, Piazza Della Signora, Palazzo Vecchio, Ponte Vecchio, Mercato Centrale. We found it ideal, especially in summer, to be able to pop ‘home’ and have a brief respite from the heat or a cup of tea when we needed a break. It is also less than 10 min walk from the train station. SERVICE: Service was cheerful and welcoming on arrival and they made us feel at home. They also had a few handy restaurant and shopping tips. The desk is not always manned so you always need to take your keys with you, but that’s hardly a problem. ROOM: The apartments are large and spacious. Décor is attractive and is suited to the style of the old palazzo building. We felt like we had a lovely space to come back to and relax in at the end of a busy day. The kitchen space is large and open and is well equipped if you are planning on preparing meals. We had breakfast each morning but we didn't cook. What was very handy was being able to pop out to the nearby Mercato Centrale and grab cold meats, cheeses and olives for an easy lunch or for something to go with pre-dinner drinks. Coffee, tea and some basics like oil etc are supplied. There are two bathrooms which is sooo convenient when there are more than 2 of you. Bathrooms were compact but very clean. Whilst they weren’t large, they were certainly an adequate size. There is a daily housekeeping service. Some rooms have a balcony. Wifi is free and very quick OTHER NOTES: • The apartments facing the front of the building can be noisy. A couple of years ago, we had a two bedroom apartment and the front bedroom got all the noise (the other bedroom was fine). This time our room was alongside the Duomo and we did not notice any noise at all. • The central location means that you are in a pedestrianised zone so you cannot drive to the accommodation. This didn't bother us as we don’t use a car in Florence - it’s just not necessary so we always pick up our car from the station as we leave Florence. If you do bring a car, there is private parking available nearby (35 per day) • The lift is quite tiny so you
Can only agree with what other reviewers have said: this is a small-ish, clean and comfortable hotel made special by the genuine focus on good customer service from all the staff. Special mention to Michele (forgive the spelling) who is one of those people who genuinely wants everyone to have a good time and enjoys helping them out even though he was obviously run off his feet a lot of the time. The distance wasn't a problem for us - it's a simple 10 minute walk straight along the road from Dante's statue next to Santa Croce. It is about as far again from the Duomo as SMN station is to it though, so too far with suitcases on cobbled roads in heat. The roof terrace views of the Florence skyline as the sun sets and picks out the towns in the hills around it were a definite plus, as was the hotel's relaxed views on the honesty bar or just taking your own up to sit and enjoy. The riverside location suited us too - if you're happy to mix with the locals and try out afew basic Italian phrases then this is a great spot for heading where they do for aperitivo. You can either head down in the riverside park (just a basic outdoor bar but very relaxed and friendly and full of locals catching up) or a 10 minute walk up the main road that goes past the hotel away from the river and turn right at the old gatehouse (now in the middle of a roundabout) where you'll find afew decent street bars & restaurants (and a large Coop round the corner). I would have given this 5 stars to reflect the hotel's comforts and great customer service ethos, but for two points: like most of Italy's hotels in converted historic buildings the rooms have been built into wherever they could be fit (it took a couple of days to work out the best route to breakfast through the maze), and on our first night we were put into a ground floor room which looked to be their disability-adapted room. It was just as clean and comfortable as the other rooms but we could see pedestrians' heads as they passed (there are shutters on the windows though). We were moved to the second floor for the rest of the week which was fine. The other thing I would recommend the hotel changes next time they refurbish is the breakfast room - it would be great as a wine bar with its all-white decor, quirky seating and big curved tables at various heights, but not so great for seating guests at breakfast. No doubt social distancing was a factor but I doubt it could accommodate everyone arriving for breakfast in normal times either (you could take a tray away), and even then you're sitting around a big table with other guests, and we could see afew groups who'd travelled together negotiating to be able to sit with each other. Not something that spoiled our stay at all, just something that would make the hotel even better if changed. All in all though a great base for a week and would happily return.
The breakfast is very good, and the variety is much better than the big hotel. Victory is fresh in things. Said to be ten o'clock. In fact, he will wait for you to eat. Because the place is not big, I know which guest has come and which one has not come yet. It usually ends at eleven o'clock. Moreover, the dining is in a small garden, very comfortable environment. The regular room that was booked was a bit small. But it is clean and comfortable. It was postponed for a day and it was good to upgrade a room with a living room. The sofa in the living room is also a folding bed. Although we can't use two, many friends may need it. They are very intimate to provide a room for three or four people, making it easy for families to travel. great.
Absolutely first class small French garden hotel. The hospitality at the front desk is in stark contrast to Rome's five-star hotel Plaza Hotel, which not only has detailed facility introductions, but also actively assists in the planning of tourist attractions. The bartender is enthusiastic and can remember the guests' names.
Security awareness is also very strong. When we enter at night, we will ask us to show the room card.
Needless to say, the photos on Ctrip are real.
I couldn’t have picked a better located hotel if I had tried!! It is literal steps from the Duomo and the views from the rooftop terrace make any flaw inconsequential. I would absolutely stay here again if I came back to Florence. The hotel is located on the fourth floor of the building, but there is an elevator to take you up. The rooms are a little worn, and could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but they are nice. The beds could also be updated, they are definitely on the firm side, but they aren’t uncomfortable. The bathroom towels were far better than the average hotel. Other people said the staff was rude, but I didn’t find that. There was an older gentleman who wasn’t particularly friendly, but he wasn’t rude at all. Breakfast was good, I just wish it started a little earlier.
This trip to Italy went to four cities, Florence is my second stop! This hotel is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. As a diamond member, this is the first time I have written a review on Ctrip. The location of the hotel is invincible and there is a lot of light around the Baihua Cathedral. The key impress is mine. Hotel service, front desk service is very good, friendly, perfect recommendation!
We got the room with a large bed and bunk beds. Service was awesome! They allowed earlier check in because our train arrived to the city before checking, and could arrange very late check out (for a fee, of course), because we had a night train. Everything was great! Very modern amenities, large spaces, clean, working A/C (apparently a luxury), small fridge, coffee machine, nice towels, attentive staff... only drawback could be that it is two flights up, so if might be a challenge. Other than that, this is great! I would certainly return during my next visit. Thank you for everything!
I recently stayed at Granduca for 2 nights. Location wise it isn't that far at all from the city centre, about a 7-minute cab. Rooms were clean, spacious and were perfect for my family. With a decent breakfast and very helpful and kind staff; I have nothing negative to say. My only possible complaint was that the Wi-Fi signal was a little weak from my room, and it did become a little frustrating at times. Overall, great trip and awesome value for money.
Let me talk about the advantages of this hotel: the health is very good, out of 5 points to 4 points; the location is very good to give full marks, the train station is 5 minutes walk, the nearest attraction, Santa Maria del Fiore, go out and go straight, go straight Walking is the famous shopping street in the big brand; the hotel has good quality breakfast, delicious cake, hand-washed coffee and outdoor terrace. Then you have to vomit! Poor facilities, out of 5 points can only give 1 point: the elevator is small and broken, squeaky; the bed in the room is small, the quilt is thin, the air conditioner is not strong, the water flow in the bath hot water is also small, the toilet will also be anti-water... The service could have been given a pass, but only 2 points were given: the last day found that the cleaning secretly took away a whole pack of chocolates we put on the table... and we blamed ourselves for buying a lot. Putting it on the table may feel like taking one and you won't find it, but if we buy it by head, we will not remember the wrong number. Moreover, the cashier is also kept, you can order the number... although 5 euros of small things, but the feeling of being uncomfortable to the residents, this is taboo! Fortunately, shopping is arranged on the last day, advise everyone not to put the valuables in the hotel, it must be locked in the suitcase!
My husband is great at picking out small, intimate European Hotels in perfect locations and this one was indeed perfection! Located in a very upscale, central area with shops, restaurants and a pharmacy all right outside our door. Ricciarda, Eleonora and Letizia were so helpful during our planning stages, through multiple postponements during the pandemic and right through arrival and saying good bye. They were all just so sweet and so attentive to our needs. When I realized that my petite body was just not tall enough to see my face in the mirror above the bathroom sink, they brought me a step stool even though there was a full length mirror outside of the bathroom. The room size was large by European standards and the community kitchen was so nice to have to make tea at night when we returned from an evening out. Everything was very clean, fresh, modern and they made sure we staggered breakfast times so we had plenty of social distancing. We absolutely loved this very special BNB and when we come back to Florence it is where we will be staying!
The hotel room is comfortable. The location is excellent, which is near the Ponte Vechio, and I can access to other tourist points just by foot. Overall the staff is nice, especially the one wearing glasses working in the breakfast room, he is always welcome and nice to the guests. The hotel lobby is under renovation, half of the lobby is blocked but it is acceptable.
Stunning hotel, our room was elegant and classy, very specious. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had-lots of choice: fruit, cereals, cheese, cold meats, cakes, breads, pastries, salads and then you can choose a hot breakfast also-I had the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, French toast and pancakes-all yummy!! Staff so helpful and kind, really couldn’t have asked for a better hotel. Unfortunately we had to cut our holiday short due to the coronavirus but we will be returning! The hotel is about a 10 min walk to the main bits of Florence. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Near the train station, but not noisy at all, very quiet. The Notre Dame de Flores is not far behind, and the street next to it is very lively. There are supermarkets and Chinese restaurants. The dishes in Emerald Chuanfu are delicious. It is also convenient to go to the mall by car. Nice hotel, but also pay attention to safety, you must turn the key to the front desk when you go out of the hotel
The hotel is nice, the rooms are big and the staff are friendly. The facilities of the hotel are good but not amazing, it’s more of a four star than a five star. The pool is okay but you can hear the road a lot although they do try to drown it out with the music. The location means it is walkable from Florence which is a bonus.
The style is very good, the decoration is very much my heart! Artistic explosion!
The room was small and the ceiling was somehow high.
Clean, courteous service, you can charge for parking, and the price is reasonable (more than 100 a night in the old town of Florence almost).
The location is fairly central, on the edge of the old city. If you do n’t find it troublesome, you can actually stop outside and walk in. The parking fee is much cheaper.
In the morning, it wasn't common.
Love this hotel very much! ! ! Oh, I love it so much! The Pitti Suite we stayed in was very spacious and the room was very large. The double bed was more than enough for three adults. There are beautiful murals on the walls and ceiling, and the furniture and decorations are all retro, like a luxurious palace. The room is decorated with great attention to detail. There is a flower on the slippers and a beautiful heart-shaped rattan on the bath towel. It really suits my liking! After you check in the hotel, you will get the access control code, and then you can enter and exit freely when you enter the hotel gate and restaurant and press the code. After 6:30 in the evening, there is no one at the front desk, and you can enter the beautiful restaurant to get refreshments and take photos at will. It's really like my own home! I have been thinking about this hotel since I came back~~
If you want to choose a hotel close to the Old Bridge, the Uffizi Gallery, and the Lord's Square, this is a good choice. Should belong to the nature of family hotels, the front desk has seen three, of which the grandfather is very nice, after checking out, waiting for the car to order the coffee and finally exempt. The rest of the hotel is next to the old bridge, 10 meters to the right is the old bridge, and 10 meters to the left is the Uffizi Gallery, the location is excellent. The room hardware is quite normal, but very warm.
PLEASANT FLORENTINE STAY
I liked this hotel in Florence, between the Santa Maria Novella station and the historic center, very convenient for those arriving and departing by train, being able to leave their luggage at the hotel even after check out.
It also reaches the main tourist destinations of the city. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the bathroom with a large shower is comfortable, the well-trained staff is kind. Ok me
The service is simply great! Feeling at home~ The service staff of the entire hotel are familiar with the itinerary of each guest. They send cleaning staff according to the travel arrangements every day. They are cleaned twice a day, morning and evening, and the services are very targeted. The front desk staff are sincere every day Send greetings, we are very grateful for the attractions and food recommended by the front desk manager~ The entire hotel environment is completely beyond imagination and dignified. We even bought the same fragrance in the hotel lobby in Florence~ After returning to Beijing, we smelled the fragrance The taste seems to be in palazzo vecchietti~ It is definitely a luxury hotel worth experiencing (̀⌄ ́)
Great location, good hotel and staff. Gorgeous terrace. which is used in my opinion at the loss of the hotel, the only negative is breakfast, it is better not to take it with breakfast if you like to have a delicious breakfast, it seems that the hotel manager is doing everything in order to ruin the owner. but all these cons still make it a good hotel
