We have stayed at Motel 6's in the past and have always had a nice stay but I guess those days are over, we recently stayed at the Motel 6 at 1450 E Dundee Rd, Palatine, IL 60074 from July 2 to July 5, 2022, we called ahead on 7/2 from the road to make sure our reservation would be held as we were running late on our 14hr drive east, we talked to Kirk who said he was the general manager and assured us our handicapped room would be held and available when we arrived around 9pm that night, upon our arrival Kirk was pleasant and having turned way the two people in line in front of us noting that the motel were fully booked, it was a relief that he was good to his word and gave us room 146, expounding on the point that he had given us a room on the first floor (that's good as neither my wife or I can navigate stairs and I saw no elevators), we made our way to the room and upon entering noticed that the bed was well made but with stained sheets, an 1/8” thick cover and only 2 pillows, I went back up and asked if I could please have 2 more pillows and was told that Motel 6's policy was to only provide 2 pillows per room and that the blanket (if you want to call that a blanket) was it and if we wanted anything else we could go to Wal-Mart down the street and buy anything else we needed, after protesting a bit Kirk did manage to find me 1 more pillow (I was very grateful for this and thanked him for his effort in locating it), he then informed me that these days we really needed to always bring our own pillows and blankets as no one was providing any extras anything these days (I'm sorry to tell Motel 6, during this trip this would be the 4th place we have stayed at and ONLY Motel 6 doesn't provide extra pillows and blankets). The room was really not clean besides the aforementioned stained sheets the floor was in need of a serous cleaning, the bathroom was actually unsanitary with feces and other stained on the walls around the toilet, feces on the floor next to the toilet and the remainder of the floor was also in need of a serous sanitizing. A used bar of soap was even sitting on top of the shower surround, the tub faucet dripped and the toilet made an awful noise and the pipes rattled at the end of its fill every time it was used, we had to put up with this for our entire stay. On the first morning I saw someone from housekeeping in the hall way and asked if they were going to clean room 146 this morning as it needed help, the lady said oh yes yes but be assured no one during our stay came to clean our room unless you want to count the maid who persistently banged on the door at 9:45 the morning we were to check out and when we opened the door stated that she wanted to clean the room and why were we still there, we informed her that we were in the process of packing but that we had until 11am to checkout, she then told us that she needed to clean the room, we politely told her we would leave when we were done packing and closed the door. Four Points in Buffalo Grove was a nice cosy hotel that we stayed in for 5 nights. It is a business hotel with complimentary breakfast and a bar which opens in the evening. The staff there Nancy Heather and others were very helpful and prompt when I needed print outs or supplies. There is an Indian restaurant just walking distance away which was a blessing. The room was good with tea maker and mini fridge which was a blessing as we got food packed on most of the days. The beds were very comfortable. The location is also good with supermarkets, restaurants and pharmacies nearby.

So it took us almost 30 minutes to check in because the front desk staff was no where to be found. When she finally did show up she was unapologetic. After check in I was alerted to when it how breakfast was serve, if any amenities, like the pool , was open, there was a restaurant onsite; nothing. Get to the room, it smells as if someone just checked out and they cleaned it in 10 minutes. We also didn’t have a remote. We waited almost 3 hours to get one because the front desk staff wasn’t at the desk when we called nor was she down there before we went to the store & after we returned. The stove top was disgusting as if no one ever cleans it; as well as the coffee maker. I would probably never stay there again. 🙁

Stayed here with my daughter for a weekend trip to Six Flags. Very clean and quiet hotel. Our room (suite) was just off of the lobby, but was quiet. The room temperature adjusted easily and was quiet when running. Hot shower with softened water (my hair doesn’t always do well with hotel water - this was perfect). Typical hot breakfast items that were always replenished. I previously stayed at the Hampton across the street from Six Flags and this one was far superior in cleanliness. It was around a 25 minute drive to the park. Lots of shopping and restaurants in the area. Great experience - will stay here again.

After driving for almost 3 days we checked in at the Buffalo Grove, Illinois location. We were exhausted. Mandy, the manager, made the whole procession quick and easy. The room is very clean and spacious. Mandy and her staff were quick to provide anything we needed. I hope Mandy receives recognition for her outstanding service. The staff are awesome too! I strongly believe the amazing service we received is due to Mandy's superior managerial skills. We highly recommend this Extended Stay in Buffalo Grove Illinois. We've been here 2 weeks. More than likely we will be here another 2 weeks or more while we are house hunting. Because we are happy here we are able to take our time finding our new home. We are currently staying here while I make this review. This is our 5th day here. We have 2 rooms. It’s clean and tidy, pool is not heated which is a bummer as kids love to swim but it’s snowing at this time even though it isn’t winter yet. Housekeeping is great, the ladies tried to speak english as I tried to speak Spanish. Breakfast was better than other hotels and the lady staff was very pleasant and attentive. The place is not in a busy area which we liked as my daughter’s daycare is just beside this hotel. The front desk person I spoke with though this afternoon needs training in customer service as his service was -meeeeeh. I asked him a question about looking at another room with connecting door, I got complete silence with him looking through printed papers... I waited in complete silence for him to acknowledge that he heard me but he just clicked on the keyboard making me guess if he heard me at all. I asked if he heard me and said,”yes, I’m checking the rooms.” It’s either he is really not a friendly and approachable person but he as a front liner should learn to have these customer service traits. I guess it’s not just me as my husband also noted it first day when he checked the rooms. We are moving to another hotel nearby anyway.

This hotel is amazing! We checked in after midnight because we were attending a concert at The Chicago Theatre. There was no issue with the late check-in, and we were greeted by two extremely nice staff who were happy to answer any questions we had. They also gave us some delicious warm cookies. We didn't wake up in time for breakfast, but the staff recommended the food. The hotel was extremely clean and the shower pressure was the best. The last thing I must say is the king mattress is the most comfortable mattress in the world and the pillows were great too. We'd give more stars if we could, and will definitely stay here again!

I have stayed at this property multiple times over the past three years or so. It is my go-to location when I don't need to stay in the city. It's right off I-90. About 30 minutes from the Wrigley area in normal traffic. Parking is free, unlike most O'Hare adjacent properties. Breakfast is included and very good with many options. The staff is competent. I have never had any problems. All the rooms I have had have been quiet, clean, and well-kept. My last stay was March 17, 2022 and I already have another reservation here in the near future. If you are driving and want to save some money visiting Chicago, this place is perfect.
